6Fibrosis assessment using Fibro Meter combined to first generation tests in hepatitis C显示文摘AIM To evaluate the performance of FibroMeter^(Virus3G) combined to the first generation tests aspartate aminotransferase-to-platelet ratio index(APRI) or Forns index to assess significant fibrosis in chronic hepatitis C(CHC).METHODS First generation tests APRI or Forns were initially applied in a derivation population from Rio de Janeiro in Brazil considering cut-offs previously reported in the literature to evaluate significant fibrosis.FibroMeter^(Virus3G) was sequentially applied to unclassified cases from APRI or Forns.Accuracy of non-invasive combination of tests,APRI plus FibroMeter^(Virus3G) and Forns plus FibroMeter^(Virus3G) was evaluated in the Brazilian derivation population.APRI plus FibroMeter^(Virus3G) combination was validated in a population of CHC patients from Angers in France.All patients were submitted to liver biopsy staged according to METAVIR score by experienced hepatopathologists.Significant fibrosis was considered as METAVIR F≥2.The fibrosis stage classification was used as the reference for accuracy evaluation of non-invasive combination of tests.Blood samples for the calculation of serum tests were collected on the same day of biopsy procedure or within a maximum 3 mo interval and stored at-70 ℃.RESULTS Seven hundred and sixty CHC patients were included(222 in the derivation population and 538 in the validation group).In the derivation population,the FibroMeter^(Virus3G) AUROC was similar to APRI AUROC(0.855 vs 0.815,P=0.06) but higher than Forns AUROC(0.769,P<0.001).The best FibroMeter^(Virus3G) cut-off to discriminate significant fibrosis was 0.61(80% diagnostic accuracy;75% in the validation population,P=0.134).The sequential combination of APRI or Forns with FibroMeter^(Virus3G) in derivation population presented similar performance compared to FibroMeter^(Virus3G) used alone(79% vs 78% vs 80%,respectively,P=0.791).Unclassified cases of significant fibrosis after applying APRI and Forns corresponded to 49% and 54%,respectively,of the total sample.However,the combination of APRI or Forns with FibroMeter^(Virus3G) allowed 73% and 77%,respectively,of these unclassified cases to be correctly evaluated.Moreover,this combination resulted in a reduction of FibroMeter^(Virus3G) requirement in approximately 50% of the entire sample.The stepwise combination of APRI and FibroMeter^(Virus3G) applied to the validation population correctly identified 74% of patients with severe fibrosis(F≥3).CONCLUSION The stepwise combination of APRI or Forns with FibroMeter^(Virus3G) may represent an accurate lower cost alternative when evaluating significant fibrosis,with no need for liver biopsy.Maria Chiara Chindamo Jerome Boursier Ronir Raggio Luiz Isabelle Fouchard-Hubert Vera Lúcia Nunes Pannain Joao Marcello de Araújo Neto Henrique Sérgio Moraes Coelho Renata de Mello Perez Paul Calès Cristiane Alves Villela-Nogueira 2017World Journal of Hepatology2017,9,6:1

14Genotype-environment interaction in Cordia trichotoma(Vell.)Arráb.Ex Steud.progenies in two different soil conditions显示文摘Investment in silvicultural techniques is noticeably lacking,especially in breeding programs for non-conventional wood species.Studying genotype×environment interaction(G×E)is essential to the development of breeding programs.Thus,this study aimed to estimate genetic diversity of and the effects of G×E interaction on two progeny tests of Cordia trichotoma,including the estimation of genetic gain and genetic diversity after selection.For the experiment,30 progenies of C.trichotoma were tested at two sites with differing soil textures.Diameter at breast height(1.30 m above soil surface,dbh-cm),total height,diameter at 30 cm from the soil,first branch height,and survival were all monitored for four years.Statistical deviance,best linear unbiased estimator,and harmonic mean of relative performance of genetic values(MHPRVG)were all calculated to predict breeding values,estimate genetic parameters,and analyze deviance.All quantified traits varied significantly among progenies by soil type,with greatest variation recorded for genetic variability.Heritability of the progenies led to predictions of genetic gain,ranging from 7.73 to 15.45%,for dbh at four years of age.The calculated decrease in genetic diversity after selection showed that this parameter should be monitored in subsequent breeding cycles.G×E was low for all tests.The best-performing progenies proved most stable and best adapted to the different environmental conditions tested.Wanderley dos Santos Bruno Marchetti de Souza Daniele Fernanda Zulian Gilberto Terra Ribeiro Alves João Bosco Vasconcellos Gomes Mário Luiz Teixeira de Moraes Valderês Aparecida de Sousa Ananda Virginia de Aguiar 2022Journal of Forestry Research2022,33,1:0
15Contributions on Selective Waste Collection and Recycling Cooperatives in Municipalities in the State of São Paulo,Brazil显示文摘The collection and proper disposal of MSW(Municipal Solid Waste)is one of the biggest challenges faced by Brazilian public managers.Dry recyclable waste represents about 33.6%of the gravimetric composition of MSW,with a tendency to increase in the next few years,due to the increasing consumption of processed products,with short life cycles and excess packaging.The inadequate management of these residues results in a series of social,environmental and economic problems.In recent years,there has been a great advance in Brazilian laws,assigning responsibilities and regulating waste management in the country,optimizing the use of infrastructure and human and financial resources.Scarce resources and insufficient infrastructure demand actions based on a lot of planning.One of the main limiting factors for the planning and development of public policies for the sector is the lack of reliable data and information on the generation and management of waste,that allow the creation of future scenarios and the definition of adequate strategies for minimization,valorization of waste and final disposal of waste that no longer can be processed.Thus,this work sought to analyze the current situation of selective waste collection and recycling cooperatives in 211 municipalities in the State of São Paulo,evaluating the issues and opportunities for the applicability of Law n.12,305/2010,Brazilian PNRS(in Portuguese)(National Policy of Solid Waste)in the management of this waste in small,medium and large cities.A bibliographic research was carried out on the panorama of solid waste management in Brazil and in the State of São Paulo,as well as a contextualization on selective waste collection and recycling cooperatives.Following that,data from 211 municipalities taking part in the survey Solid Waste Management—Municipalities of the State of São Paulo were analyzed,focusing on answers that correlated with the topics covered in this research.For this work,questions were used in order to obtain a basic overview of solid waste management in the municipalities,identifying the characteristics of selective waste collection and recycling cooperatives in the municipalities and to verify the similarity,benefits and difficulties of selective waste collection and waste cooperatives in the municipalities studied.After tabulating and analyzing the data,a matrix was prepared to compare the results obtained in relation to selective waste collection and recycling cooperatives and the guidelines of the PNRS(National Solid Waste Policy)in urban environmental management,which allowed the conclusion that all municipalities participating in the research have a good understanding of solid waste management practices,as well as seek to comply with the guidelines of the PNRS.However,the results of this matrix indicated that there are important points that need to be considered in the planning of actions for a better management of recyclable waste,such as the implementation of inter-municipal consortiums in the management of solid waste,investment in environmental education,stimulation to create recycling cooperatives and adoption of social inclusion regulations for informal waste collectors.Clauciana Schmidt Bueno de Moraes Larissa Senden Carnicel Adriana Maria Nolasco Giulia Malaguti Braghini Marcolini Martires Cinthia Mara Vital Bonaretto Willian Leandro Henrique Pinto Bruna Ferrari Felipe Felipe JoséSasso Laís Araújo de Paula 2022Journal of Environmental Science and Engineering(B)2022,11,5:0
