| 1 | Prevalence of intestinal parasite infections among patients in local public hospitals of Hail,Northwestern Saudi Arabia显示文摘Objective:To evaluate the prevalence of intestinal parasites among patients in Hail,Northwestern Saudi Arabia.Methods:Stool samples were collected from 130 patients(69females and 61 males) in Hail General Hospital.Each sample was examined by direct wet mount microscopic examination using both normal saline and Lugol's iodine preparation and concentration techniques using salt and formol-ether solutions.Permanent stained smears were performed for intestinal coccidian using modified Ziehl-Neelsen technique.Results:The overall prevalence of intestinal parasitic infection was 45.38%(59 cases).Forty-four(33.84%)were found to be infected with one or more intestinal protozoa.5(3.84%) were infected with helminthes and 10(7.69%) had mixed infection with both helminthes and protozoa.The most common intestinal helminth detected was Ancyloxtoma duvdenale(n=5.3.84%),followed by Ascaris lumlmcnidex.Taenia sp.and Trichuris trichiura(n=2 for each species,1.5%).For intestinal protozoa,the coccidian Cryptosporidium parvum(n=25,19.23%) was the most common followed by Entamoeba histolytica/dispur(n=21,16.15%),Giurdia lamblia(n=15,11.54%),Entamoeba coli(n=5.3.85%) and Blastocysts hominis(n=3,2.30%).The prevalence of intestinal parasitic infections in females was significantly higher than in males(P<0.05).Conclusions:This is the first study highlighting that intestinal parasites are still an important public health problem in Northwestern Saudi Arabia Therefore,health education would be the best way to prevent from intestinal parasite infections which are mainly food borne diseases. | Omar Hassen Amer Ibraheem M Ashankyty Najoua Al Sadok Haouas | 2016 | Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2016，9，1： | 2 |

| 13 | Implication of sewage sludge increased application rates on soil fertility and heavy metals contamination risk显示文摘This paper aims to assess soil fertility and risk contamination parameters in response to increased amendment rates of sewage sludge application,under semi-arid climatic conditions of Morocco,using two soil textures:soil A(clay-silty)and soil B(sandy-clay)over two years.To this end,sewage sludge and soils treatments physicochemical parameters,heavy metals content,degree of pollution and associated risks were evaluated and compared to controlled soils.The results showed that all studied parameters changed significantly(p<0.05)in a dose-dependent manner for both soils compared to the untreated control soils.Indeed,there were significant increase in organic matter(OM),total organic carbon(TOC)and nutrients content(N,P and K)of both sols as a response to increased sewage sludge amendment rates.Overall,sewage sludge application showed a positive agronomic potential for both soil and plant.However,there were concern about some heavy metals contamination risks,the results showed a gradual increase of heavy metals concentration in this order:Cu>Pb>Zn>Ni>Cd>Cr.Nevertheless,their concentrations were below the critical values established by the European Union for the agronomic use of soil.The obtained results of assessed parameters indicating SS degree of pollution and associated risks showed a low to a moderate contamination risks of heavy metals.Accordingly,environmental risks of sewage sludge application will be related to increase of heavy metals mainly in a long-term agricultural reuse.Thus,optimal management of sewage sludge application is recommended to ensure sustainability and benefits at the same time to master the contamination risks. | Abdelmajid Achkir Abdelhakim Aouragh Mohammed El Mahi El Mostapha Lotfi Najoua Labjar Mohammed EL Bouch Moulay Lahcen Ouahidi Taruvinga Badza Hamid Farhane Tawfik EL Moussaoui | 2023 | Emerging Contaminants2023，9，1： | 0 |
| 14 | Profile and geographical distribution of reported cutaneous leishmaniasis cases in Northwestern Saudi Arabia,from 2010 to 2013显示文摘Objective:To describe the profile and geographical distribution of reported cases of cutaneous leishmaniasis(CL)in the province of Hail,Saudi Arabia from 2010 to 2013.Methods:Human data were collected from the dermatology service of both King Khaled and General Hail hospitals.Results:A total of 483 confirmed CL cases were investigated.Cutaneous leishmaniasis follows a seasonal distribution related to the activity of the phlebotomine sand fly fauna.Both saudi and non saudi patients were almost equally infected.The number of reported cases of CL in men was higher than that in females.The frequency of CL was asoociated with age and increased in teenager and adult group.By analyzing the geographical distribution,the majority of Hail districts were affected with this disease.However it is more prevalent in Hail city.Conclusions:The lack of data concerning the parasite,the sand fly fauna and the existing transmission cycles in Hail province make difficult to interpret the reported results and to follow up the spatio-temporal evolution of the disease. | Najoua Haouas Omar Amer Asma Ishankyty Adnan Alazmi Ibrahim Ishankyty | 2015 | Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2015，8，4： | 0 |

| 16 | Phytochemical composition and toxicity assessment of Ammi majus L.显示文摘Objective:To assess the acute and subacute toxicity as well as the phytochemical composition of two extracts and three fractions of Ammi majus L.Methods:The aqueous extracts were prepared separately by maceration for 48 h and by infusion for 1 h,while the fractions were prepared by the Soxhlet extractor,successively employing cyclohexane,ethyl acetate,and ethanol.The acute toxicity study was carried out in accordance with the OECD N°423 guideline at a single dose(2000 mg/kg)in mice for 14 days.The subacute toxicity study was performed by a daily oral administration of 250 mg/kg 2 for 10 d and 100 mg/kg doses for 28 d.Phytochemical screening was performed using staining and precipitation reactions,while the chemical characterization of some analytes was detected by HPLC-MS/MS analysis.Results:In the acute toxicity study,no signs of toxicity such as convulsion,salivation,diarrhea,sleep and coma were observed during 30 minutes and 14 days,so the lethal dose was higher than 2000 mg/kg for each extract and fraction.The subacute toxicity results showed that at a dose of 250 mg/kg,61.10%of the animals died and the rest developed morbidity.On the other hand,at a dose of 100 mg/kg,all the animals were still alive after 28 days,with no morbidity and the biochemical parameters were normal with no abnormalities in the liver,kidneys and pancreas.Phytochemical screening indicated the presence of flavonoids,tannins,coumarins,and free quinones and the absence of alkaloids and anthocyanins.Conclusions:The extracts and fractions of Ammi majus L.are not toxic in the short and long term with a varied chemical composition.Toxicological tests on animals other than rodents and in the long term(more than 28 days)are needed to further confirm the safety of Ammi majus extracts. | Otman El-guourrami Najoua Salhi Fatima Zahra Benkhouili Gokhan Zengin Mustafa Abdullah Yilmaz Mouna Ameggouz Ahmed Zahidi Lamiaa Rouas Abdelhakim Bouyahya Khang Wen Goh Toong Hai Sam Long Chiau Ming Anass Doukkali Hanane Benzeid | 2023 | Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Biomedicine2023，13，4： | 0 |

| 20 | Solitary pancreatic metastasis from squamous cell lung carcinoma: A case report and review of literature显示文摘BACKGROUND Pancreatic metastases from squamous cell lung carcinoma(SCLC)are unusual.These lesions are often asymptomatic and detected incidentally or during followup investigations,occasionally several years after removal of the primary tumor.CASE SUMMARY A 56-year-old male with SCLC developed jaundice 1 mo after the cancer diagnosis.An abdominal computed tomography(CT)scan showed a mass in the pancreatic head with distention of both intra-and extrahepatic biliary ducts.Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography and sphincterotomy were performed first,culminating with plastic biliary stent placement.Cytological examination of the pancreatic mass sample collected by fine-needle aspiration(FNA)under endoscopic ultrasound(EUS)guidance revealed the presence of malignant cells compatible with well-differentiated squamous cell carcinoma.After liver function normalized,chemotherapy was initiated with carboplatin and paclitaxel;however,4 d later,the patient presented dysphagia.Cervico-thoracoabdominal CT showed tracheoesophageal fistula and stent migration.After replacement with a 10 cm/10 mm uncovered metallic biliary stent and treatment of the tracheoesophageal fistula with a fully covered esophageal stent,the patient was able to start oral feeding progressively.He died 9 mo after the initial diagnosis.CONCLUSION The diagnosis of pancreatic metastasis from SCLC is challenging for clinicians.EUS-FNA is the primary exam for confirmatory diagnosis. | Kaouthar Rais Oumayma El Eulj Najoua El Moutaoukil Imane Kamaoui Amal Bennani Ghizlane Kharrasse Abdelkrim Zazour Wafaa Khannoussi Zahi Ismaili | 2022 | World Journal of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy2022，14，7： | 0 |
