12-D P-wave velocity structure of lithosphere in the North China tectonic zone: Constraints from the Yancheng-Baotou deep seismic profile显示文摘We obtained the 2-D P-wave velocity structure of the lithosphere in the eastern North China Craton, Shanxi fault subsidence zone, and Yinchuan-Hetao fault subsidence zone by ray tracking technology based on six groups of clearly identified crustal phases and one group of lithospheric interface reflection phases from seismic recording sections of 21 shots along the 1300-km-long Yancheng-Baotou deep seismic wide-angle reflection/refraction profile. The results indicate significant differences between the lithospheric structure east and west of the Taihang Mountains, which is a gravity-gradient zone as well as a zone of abrupt change in lithospheric thickness and a separation zone of different rock components. East of the Taihang Mountains, the Mesozoic and Cenozoic lithospheric structure of the North China Craton has undergone strong reformation and destruction, resulting in the lithosphere thickness decreasing to 70–80 km. The North China Basin has a very thick Cenozoic sedimentary cover and the deepest point of crystalline basement is about 7.0 km, with the crustal thickness decreasing to about 31.0 km. The crystalline basement of the Luxi uplift zone is relatively shallow with a depth of 1.0–2.0 km and crustal thickness of 33.0–35.0 km. The Subei Basin has a thicker Cenozoic sedimentary cover and the bottom of its crystalline basement is at about 5.0–6.0 km with a crustal thickness of 31.0–32.0 km. The Tanlu fault is a deep fracture which cuts the lithosphere with a significant velocity structure difference on either side of the fault. The Tanlu fault plays an important role in the lithospheric destruction in the eastern part of the North China Craton. West of the Taihang Mountains, the crustal thickness increases significantly. The crust thickness beneath the Shanxi fault depression zone is about 46 km, and there is a low-velocity structure with a velocity of less than 6.1 km s?? in the upper part of the middle crust. Combined with other geophysical study results, our data shows that the lithospheric destruction at the Shaanxi-Shanxi fault depression zone and the Yinchuan-Hetao rift surrounding the Ordos block is non-uniform. The lithosphere thickness is about 80–90 km in the Datong-Baotou area, 75–137 km at the Dingxiang-Shenmu region, and about 80–120 km in the Anyang-Yichuan area. The non-uniform lithospheric destruction may be related to the ancient tectonic zone surrounding the Ordos block. This zone experienced multi-period tectonic events in the long-term process of its tectonic evolution and was repeatedly transformed and weakened. The weakening level is related to the interactions with the Ordos block. 2Mechanical and Morphological Properties of Highly Dispersed Carbon Nanotubes Reinforced Cement Based Materials显示文摘Stable homogeneous suspensions of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) were prepared using gum arabic (GA) as dispersant and were incorporated to Portland cement paste. The dispersion was examined by ultraviolet visible spectroscopy (UV-vis), and the concentration measurement shows that the optimum concentration of GA is 0.45 g L-1. The dispersibility of the surface-modified MWCNTs in aqueous solution and cement matrix were investigated by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), and the mechanical properties of the composites were investigated. The results show that the addition of the treated nanotubes can improve both the flexural strength and the compressive strength of the Portland cement composite significantly. The flexural strength of the composite increases up to 43.38% with the MWCNT concentration of 0.08% (by weight of cement). The porosity and pore size distribution of the composites were measured by mercury intrusion porosimetry (MIP), and the results indicate that the cement paste doped with MWCNTs obtained lower porosity and concentrated pore size distribution. The morphological structure was analyzed by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) and EDS. 3North China sub-craton lithospheric structure elucidated through coal mine blasting显示文摘We present a super-range seismic observation along the >1300-km-long profile passing through the Yinchuan basin and the Ordos block from the blasting point towards the southeast triggered by a large-(dynamite) scale coal blast in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region's Helan Mountain (yielded a profile). The seismic wave information from the uppermost mantle reflecting different depths was obtained by the China continental seismic survey. Pn refracted waves from the uppermost mantle were effectively traced up to 500 km and beyond. The stable dynamic and kinematic characteristics of the Pn wave-group indicate that the uppermost mantle below the Ordos block is a gently changing structure with a weak positive gradient. If Pm1, Pm2 waves are considered as the wave groups from the upper mantle, there may be distinct structural strata in the upper-mantle structures with average velocities of 7.70―7.80 km/s and 8.10―8.20 km/s, respectively. Based on the travel-time curve feature of Pm1, Pm2 waves, there may be a certain layer with a reverse velocity between the M1 and M2 interfaces. The depth range indicated by them is about 110―120 km and 200―220 km. These phenomena basically reflect the structural features of the upper-mantle lithosphere in this region. 4LncDACH1 promotes mitochondrial oxidative stress of cardiomyocytes by interacting with sirtuin3 and aggravates diabetic cardiomyopathy显示文摘Diabetic cardiomyopathy(DCM)is a common complication in diabetic patients.The molecular mechanisms of DCM remain to be fully elucidated.The intronic long noncoding RNA of DACH1(lnc DACH1)has been demonstrated to be closely associated with heart failure and cardiac regeneration.In this study,we investigated the role of lnc DACH1 in DCM and the underlying molecular mechanisms.The expression of lnc DACH1 was increased in DCM hearts and in high glucose-treated cardiomyocytes.Knockout of lnc DACH1 reduced mitochondrial oxidative stress,cell apoptosis,cardiac fibrosis and hypertrophy,and improved cardiac function in DCM mice.Overexpression of lnc DACH1 exacerbated mitochondria-derived reactive oxygen species(ROS)level and apoptosis,decreased activity of manganese superoxide dismutase(Mn-SOD);while silencing of lnc DACH1 attenuated ROS production,mitochondrial dysfunction,cell apoptosis,and increased the activity of Mn-SOD in cardiomyocytes treated with high glucose.Lnc DACH1 directly bound to sirtuin3(SIRT3)and facilitated its degradation by ubiquitination,therefore promoting mitochondrial oxidative injury and cell apoptosis in mouse hearts.In addition,SIRT3 silencing abrogated the protective effects of lnc DACH1 deficiency in cardiomyocytes.In summary,lnc DACH1 aggravates DCM by promoting mitochondrial oxidative stress and cell apoptosis via increasing ubiquitination-mediated SIRT3 degradation in mouse hearts.Inhibition of lnc DACH1 represents a novel therapeutic strategy for the intervention of diabetic cardiomyopathy.Qi Zhang Danyang Li Xue Dong Xiaowen Zhang Junwu Liu Lili Peng Bo Meng Qi Hua Xinyu Pei Lu Zhao Xiaoxi Hu Yang Zhang Zhenwei Pan Yanjie Lu Baofeng Yang 2022Science China(Life Sciences)2022,65,6:4

9Mettl3 deficiency leads to the upregulation of Cav1.2 and increases arrhythmia susceptibility in mice显示文摘Methyltransferase-like 3(Mettl3)is a component of methyltransferase complex that mediates m6A modification of RNAs,and participates in multiple biological processes.However,the role of Mettl3 in cardiac electrophysiology remains unknown.This study aims to explore the ventricular arrhythmia susceptibility of Mettl3+/–mice and the underlying mechanisms.Mice were anesthetized with 2%avertin(0.1 mL/10 g body weight)for echocardiography and programmed electrical pacing.Whole-cell patch clamp technique was used to examine the electrophysiological property of cardiomyocytes.The expression of Cav1.2 was determined by qRT-PCR and western blot analysis.The m6A medication of mRNA was examined by MeRIP-Seq and MeRIP-qPCR.No differences are found in the morphology and function of the hearts between Mettl3+/–mice and wild-type(WT)controls.The QT and QTc intervals of Mettl3+/–mice are significantly longer.High-frequency electrical stimulation showed that heterozygous knockout of Mettl3 increases ventricular arrhythmia susceptibility.The whole-cell patch-clamp recordings showed that the APD is prolonged in Mettl3+/–ventricular myocytes and more EADs were observed.The density of ICa-L is substantially increased in ventricular myocytes of Mettl3+/–mice.The pore-forming subunit of L-type calcium channel Cav1.2 is upregulated in Mettl3+/–mice,while the mRNA of its coding gene CACNA1C does not change.MeRIP-Seq and MeRIP-qPCR showed that the m6A methylation of CACNA1C mRNA is decreased in cultured Mettl3-knockdown cardiomyocytes and Mettl3+/–hearts.Collectively,deficiency of Mettl3 increases ventricular arrhythmia susceptibility due to the upregulation of Cav1.2 by reducing m6A modification on CACNA1C mRNA in mice.This study highlights the role of m6A modification in the regulation of cardiac electrophysiology.Ling Shi Xuexin Jin Zheng Li Rui Gong Yang Guo Jiudong Ma Yang Zhang Benzhi Cai Baofeng Yang Dongmei Gong Zhenwei Pan 2022Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2022,54,2:1
10Study on Crustal Structure in Haiyuan Strong Earthquake Region显示文摘The crust/upper-mantle velocity structure and deep tectonic features are obtained in Haiyuan M = 8. 5 earthquake region from data processing of Xiji-Zhongwei deep seismic sounding (DSS) profile. The result shows that there is a great difference between the velocity structures on the two sides of the epicenter. The crust consists of alternative high and low velocity layers on the southern side while on the northern side it consists of a series of layers with positive velocity gradient. 13iASPP protects the heart from ischemia injury by inhibiting p53 expression and cardiomyocyte apoptosis显示文摘Currently, there remains a great need to elucidate the molecular mechanism of acute myocardial infarction in order to facilitate the development of novel therapy. Inhibitor of apoptosis-stimulating protein of p53 (iASPP) is a member of the ASPP family proteins and an evolutionarily preserved inhibitor of p53 that is involved in many cellular processes, including apoptosis of cancer cells. The purpose of this study was to investigate the possible role of iASPP in acute myocardial infarction. The protein level of iASPP was markedly reduced in the ischemic hearts in vivo and hydrogen peroxide-exposed cardiomyocytes in vitro. Overexpression of iASPP reduced the infarct size and cardiomyocyte apoptosis of mice subjected to 24 h of coronary artery ligation. Echocardiography showed that cardiac function was improved as indicated by the increase in ejection fraction and fractional shortening. In contrast, knockdown of iASPP exacerbated cardiac injury as manifested by impaired cardiac function, increased infarct size, and apoptosis rate. Mechanistically, overexpression of iASPP inhibited, while knockdown of iASPP increased the expressions of p53 and Bax, the key regulators of apoptosis. 16Hydroxychloroquine induces long QT syndrome by blocking hERG channel显示文摘Objective:In March 2022,more than 600 million cases of Corona Virus Disease 2019(COVID-19)and about 6 million deaths have been reported worldwide.Unfortunately,while effective antiviral therapy has not yet been available,chloroquine(CQ)/hydroxychloroquine(HCQ)has been considered an option for the treatment of COVID-19.While many studies have demonstrated the potential of HCQ to decrease viral load and rescue patients'lives,controversial results have also been reported.One concern associated with HCQ in its clinical application to COVID-19 patients is the potential of causing long QT interval(LQT),an electrophysiological substrate for the induction of lethal ventricular tachyarrhythmias.Yet,the mechanisms for this cardiotoxicity of HCQ remained incompletely understood.Materials and methods:Adult New Zealand white rabbits were used for investigating the effects of HCQ on cardiac electrophysiology and expression of ion channel genes.HEK-293T cells with sustained overexpression of human-ether-a-go-go-related gene(hERG)K+channels were used for whole-cell patch-clamp recordings of hERG K+channel current(IhERG).Quantitative RT-PCR analysis and Western blot analysis were employed to determine the expression of various genes at mRNA and protein levels,respectively.Results:electrocardiogram(ECG)recordings revealed that HCQ prolonged QT and RR intervals and slowed heart rate in rabbits.Whole-cell patch-clamp results showed that HCQ inhibited the tail current of hERG channels and slowed the reactivation process from inactivation state.HCQ suppressed the expression of hERG and hindered the formation of the heat shock protein 90(Hsp90)/hERG complex.Moreover,the expression levels of connexin 43(CX43)and Kir2.1,the critical molecular/ionic determinants of cardiac conduction thereby ventricular arrythmias,were decreased by HCQ,while those of Cav1.2,the main Ca2+handling proteins,remained unchanged and SERCA2a was increased.Conclusion:HCQ could induce LQT but did not induce arrhythmias,and whether it is suitable for the treatment of COVID-19 requires more rigorous investigations and validations in the future.Xin Zhao Lihua Sun Chao Chen Jieru Xin Yan Zhang Yunlong Bai Zhenwei Pan Yong Zhang Baoxin Li Yanjie Lv Baofeng Yang 2023Frigid Zone Medicine2023,3,2:0

18Visual interactive image clustering:a target-independent approach for configuration optimization in machine vision measurement显示文摘Machine vision measurement(MVM)is an essential approach that measures the area or length of a target efficiently and non-destructively for product quality control.The result of MVM is determined by its configuration,especially the lighting scheme design in image acquisition and the algorithmic parameter optimization in image processing.In a traditional workflow,engineers constantly adjust and verify the configuration for an acceptable result,which is time-consuming and significantly depends on expertise.To address these challenges,we propose a target-independent approach,visual interactive image clustering,which facilitates configuration optimization by grouping images into different clusters to suggest lighting schemes with common parameters.Our approach has four steps:data preparation,data sampling,data processing,and visual analysis with our visualization system.During preparation,engineers design several candidate lighting schemes to acquire images and develop an algorithm to process images.Our approach samples engineer-defined parameters for each image and obtains results by executing the algorithm.The core of data processing is the explainable measurement of the relationships among images using the algorithmic parameters.Based on the image relationships,we develop VMExplorer,a visual analytics system that assists engineers in grouping images into clusters and exploring parameters.Finally,engineers can determine an appropriate lighting scheme with robust parameter combinations.To demonstrate the effiectiveness and usability of our approach,we conduct a case study with engineers and obtain feedback from expert interviews.Lvhan PAN Guodao SUN Baofeng CHANG Wang XIA Qi JIANG Jingwei TANG Ronghua LIANG 2023Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering2023,24,3:0
