Comparison of coalbed gas generation between Huaibei-Huainan coalfields and Qinshui coal basin based on the tectono-thermal modeling显示文摘The geothermal history and the tectonic subsidence history of the Huaibei-Huainan coalfields were reconstructed by using the vitrinite reflectance data, and their correlative restriction on coalbed gas generation of Huaibei-Huainan coalfields and Qinshui coal basin was discussed. The burial, thermal, and maturity histories of are similar between Huaibei coalfield and Huainan coalfield, obviously different from those of Qinshui coal basin. Based on the tectono-thermal evolution characters of Huaibei-Huainan coalfields and Qinshui basin, the process of coalbed gas generation can be divided into three stages: (1) During Early Mesozoic, both in Huaibei-Huainan and Qinshui, the buried depth of Permian coal seams increased rapidly, which resulted in strong metamorphism and high burial temperature of coal seams. At this stage, the coal rank was mainly fat coal, and locally reached coking coal. These created an environment favoring the generation of thermogenic gas. (2) From Late Jurassic to Cretaceous, in the areas of Huaibei-Huainan, the strata suffered from erosion and the crust became thinning, and the Permian coal-bearing strata were uplifted to surface. At this stage, the thermogenic gas mostly escaped. Conversely, in Qinshui basin, the cover strata of coal seams kept intact during this stage, and the thermogenic gas were mostly preserved. Furthermore, with the interaction of magmatism, the burial temperature of coal seams reached higher peak value, and it was suitable for the secondary generation of thermogenic gas. (3) From Paleogene onward, in area of Huainan-Huaibei, the maturity of coal and burial temperature were propitious to the generation of secondary biogenic gases. However, in Qinshui basin, the maturity of coal went against genesis of second biogenic gas or thermogenic gas. By comparison, Huaibei-Huainan coalfields are dominated by thermogenic gas with a significant biogenic gas and hydrodynamic overprint, whereas Qinshui basin is dominated mainly by thermogenic gas.WU YuDong JU YiWen HOU QuanLin HU ShengBiao PAN JieNan FAN JunJia 2011Science China Earth Sciences2011,54,7:13
Research progress in artificial upwelling and its potential environmental effects显示文摘Artificial upwelling, as a geoengineering tool, has received worldwide attention because it may actualize ocean fertilization in a sustainable way, which could potentially alleviate the pressures on the fish stocks and human-driven climate change in the ocean. We reviewed the current knowledge on the development of an artificial upwelling system and its potential environmental effects. Special attention was given to the research progress on the air-lift concept artificial upwelling by Zhejiang University. The research on artificial upwelling over the past few decades has generated a range of devices that have been successfully applied in the field for months. Based on field experiments and the associated modeling results, part of them reported positive effects on increasing primary production and enhancing CO2 sequestration. However, as a significant disturbance to the environment, especially for large-scale applications, the uncertainties related to the potential effects on ecosystem remain unsolved. Zhejiang University has overcome the technical challenges in designing and fabricating a robust and high efficiency artificial upwelling device which has been examined in two field experiments in Qiandao Lake and one sea trial in the East China Sea. It was investigated that cold and hypoxic deep ocean water(DOW) could be uplifted to the euphotic layer, which could potentially change the nutrient distribution and adjust the N/P ratio. Both simulation and field experiments results confirmed that utilizing self-powered energy to inject compressed air to uplift DOW was a valid and efficient method. Therefore, further field-based research on artificial upwelling, especially for long-term field research is required to test the scientific hypothesis.PAN YiWen FAN Wei ZHANG DaHai CHEN JiaWang HUANG HaoCai LIU ShuXia JIANG ZongPei DI YaNan TONG MengMeng CHEN Ying 2016Science China Earth Sciences2016,59,2:3
Spatial distribution pattern of seafloor hydrothermal vents to the southeastern Kueishan Tao offshore Taiwan Island显示文摘Investigations of the diffusion activities both within and outside the seafloor hydrothermal vents, as well as related mineral genesis, have been one of the key focuses of ocean biogeochemistry studies. Many hydrothermal vents are distributed close to the southern Okinawa Trough on the less-than-30-m deep shallow seafloor off Kueishan Tao, northeast of Taiwan Island. Investigations of temperature, pH and Eh at four depths of hydrothermal plume were carried out near Kueishan Tao at the white(24.83°N, 121.96°E) and yellow(24.83°N, 121.96°E) vents. An 87 h of temperature time series observation-undertaken near the white vent showed that tide is the main factor affecting the background environment. Based on the observed data, 3-dimensional sliced diffusion fields were obtained and analyzed. It was concluded that the plume diffused mainly from north to south due to ebb tide. The yellow vent's plume could effect as far as the white vent surface. From the temperature diffusion field, the vortices of the plume were observed. The Eh negative abnormality was a better indicator to search for hydrothermal plumes and locate hydrothermal vents than high temperature and low pH abnormalities.HAN Chenhua YE Ying PAN Yiwen QIN Huawei WU Guanghai CHEN Chen-Tung Arthur 2014Acta Oceanologica Sinica2014,33,4:2
Significantly reduced abilities to cross-neutralize SARS-CoV-2 variants by sera from convalescent COVID-19 patients infected by Delta or early strains显示文摘The worldwide pandemic caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)has resulted in more than 4.5 million deaths.Although coronaviruses have a proofreading mechanism to maintain the stability of their long genomic RNAs,mutations emerge continuously, and new variants conferring advantages rapidly become the dominant lineages[1].Strategies to fight the COVID-19 pandemic using either vaccines or nonpharmaceutical interventions have specifically been threatened by the emergence of SARS-CoV-2 variants of concern(VOCs)[2].Ting Pan Zhongwei Hu Fengyu Hu Yiwen Zhang Bingfeng Liu Changwen Ke Qiumin She Xin He Xiaoping Tang Hui Zhang 2021Cellular & Molecular Immunology2021,18,11:1

Preparation and Osteogenic Efficacy of Emodin-loaded Hydroxyapatite Electrospun Fibers显示文摘Biological scaffolds have been the focus of bone tissue engineering research in recent years. In this paper, emodin (EM), macromolecular compound polycaprolactone (PCL), and hydroxyapatite (HA) were used as raw materials to prepare EM/PCL/HA fibers containing different EM ratios by electrospinning, and the properties and osteogenic efficacy of EM/PCL/HA were studied. Scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and atomic force microscopy were used to characterize the structures of HA and the electrospun fibers. Results showed that HA has high crystallinity and loose porous structure, and the electrospun fibers have a smooth and flat surface. In vitro release results showed that EM was slowly released from EM/PCL/HA within 216 h. Cell proliferation assay in mouse embryonic osteoblast precursor cells (MC3T3-E1) exhibited that 5% EM/PCL/HA had the best effect on promoting cell proliferation. Alkaline phosphatase (ALP) and mineralized nodules staining results also showed that 5% EM/PCL/HA had the best effect on promoting osteogenic differentiation. qRT-PCR results showed that the mRNA expression level of osteoblast differentiation markers, namely, bone morphogenetic protein (BMP)-2, BMP-9, and osteocalcin were significantly upregulated by 5% EM/PCL/HA treatment. These results indicate that EM/PCL/HA is a potential osteogenic material, which can provide a reference for the development of bone injury repair materials.Yiwen Pan Mu He Shaoqing Chen Yanyan Meng Cheli Wang Xinye Ni 2023Journal of Bionic Engineering2023,20,3:1
Antibody response and cross-neutralization after Omicron BA.2 infection显示文摘Dear Editor,The Omicron(B.1.1.529)variant of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)was first identified in November 2021,in South Africa and Botswana. The first Omicron sub-lineage that emerged was BA.1,which was supplanted by BA.2 in many countries. One of the most notable features of the Omicron variant is its ability to evade neutralizing antibodies(nAbs)targeting the original virus lineages.Yiwen Zhang Rong Li Yuzhuang Li Hong Yang Liqiong Zhou Jing Yuan Ting Pan Bingfeng Liu Hui Zhang Yaqing He 2023Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2023,8,2:0
Infection of wild-type mice by SARS-CoV-2 B.1.351 variant indicates a possible novel cross-species transmission route显示文摘COVID-19 is identified as a zoonotic disease caused by SARS-CoV-2,which also can cross・transmit to many animals but not mice.Genetic modifications of SARS-CoV-2 or mice enable the mice susceptible to viral infection.Although neither is the natural situation, they are currently utilized to establish mouse infection models. Here we report a direct contact transmission of SARS-CoV-2 variant B.1.351 in wild-type mice. The SARS-CoV-2(B.1.351)re plicated efficiently and induced significant pathological changes in lungs and tracheas, accompanied by elevated proinflammatory cytokines in the lungs and sera.Mechanistically, the receptor-binding domain(RBD)of SARS-CoV-2(B.1.351)spike protein turned to a high binding affinity to mouse angiotensin-converting enzyme 2(mACE2),allowing the mice highly susceptible to SARS-CoV-2(B.1.351)infection.Our work suggests that SARS-CoV-2(B.1.351)expands the host range and therefore increases its transmission route without adapted mutation. As the wild house mice live with human populations quite closely, this possible transmission route could be potentially risky. In addition, because SARS-CoV-2(B.1.351)is one of the major epidemic strains and the mACE2 in laboratory-used mice is naturally expressed and regulated, the SARS-CoV-2(B.1.351)/mice could be a much convenient animal model system to study COVID-19 pathogenesis and evaluate antiviral inhibitors and vaccines.Ting Pan Ran Chen Xin He Yaochang Yuan Xiaohui Deng Rong Li Haiping Yan Shumei Yan Jun Liu Yiwen Zhang Xiantao Zhang Fei Yu Mo Zhou Changwen Ke Xiancai Ma Hui Zhang 2022Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2022,7,1:0

USP10 regulates B cell response to SARS-CoV-2 or HIV-1 nanoparticle vaccines through deubiquitinating AID显示文摘Activation-induced cytidine deaminase(AID)initiates class-switch recombination and somatic hypermutation(SHM)in antibody genes.Protein expression and activity are tightly controlled by various mechanisms. However,it remains unknown whether a signal from the extracellular environment directly affects the AID activity in the nucleus where it works. Here,we demonstrated that a deubiquitinase USP10,which specifically stabilizes nuclear AID protein, can translocate into the nucleus after AKT-mediated phosphorylation at its T674 within the NLS domain.Interestingly, the signals from BCR and TLR1/2 synergistically promoted this phosphorylation. The deficiency of USP10 in B cells significantly decreased AID protein levels, subsequently reducing neutralizing antibody production after immunization with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)or human immunodeficiency virus type 1(HIV-1)nanoparticle vaccines.Collectively,we demonstrated that USP10 functions as an integrator for both BCR and TLR signals and directly regulates nuclear AID activity. Its manipulation could be used for the development of vaccines and adjuvants.Yuewen Luo Xiantao Zhang Ran Chen Rong Li Yang Liu Junsong Zhang Qin liu Meijun Si Jun Liu Bolin Wu Xuemei Wang Shijian Wu Yiwen Zhang Xu Zhang Deyin Guo Xin He Ting Pan Hui Zhang 2022Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2022,7,2:0
Mechanical Properties of Laser Welded Joint of Copper and Steel Dissimilar Metals显示文摘In this research project, copper and stainless steel were connected by two laser welding methods:straight seam welding and swing welding. Then, electronic tensile test machine,X-ray diffractometer, scanning electron microscope and metallographic microscope were used to analyze the tensile properties, macroscopic and microscopic structure morphology and phase of the welded joint.Based on the experimental results,we determined that the strength of the straight seam welded joint was higher.Because of the intermetallic compound near the weld in the swing welding process,it leads to stress concentration, crack cracking and strength reduction. In addition, the oscillating laser beam also leads to the disorderly direction of columnar crystal and coarse structure, which makes the joint strength decrease.REN Yiwen TAO Junhui LI Jie CHEN Xinqi ZHANG Lin WANG Chuanhui JIN Haiqin QI Hongyan WANG Zhuo XIE Xing PAN Jie 2023Wuhan University Journal of Natural Sciences2023,28,1:0
Stimulating and harnessing circularly polarized luminescence of helically assembled carbonized polymer dots via interfacial dynamics显示文摘Stimulating and harnessing circularly polarized luminescence(CPL)is not only a sine qua non for fundamentally unveiling chirogenesis in physical chemistry, but also a pivotal prerequisite for implementation of such phenomenon in research fields including chiral optoelectronics and theranostics.Herein,red-emissive carbonized polymer dots(CPDs)-based helical structures were synthesized in this work via biomolecule-tailored organic–inorganic co-assembly strategy. The surface statesrelated chirality exhibits enhanced circular dichroism(CD)and CPL activities with anisotropic factors as high as gCD,max=5.4×10^(−3) and glum,max=1.5×10^(−2),respectively.The obtained CPL signals can be further manipulated in an excitationdependent manner, indicating that a synergistic-competition phenomenon exists between configurational chirality and intermolecular energy-transfer dynamics, which is further supported by simulations based on density function theory(DFT).Such tunable CPL behavior triggers revolutionary designs and applications of these chiral CPDs into the realm of chirality-related biological issues and next-generation chiral optoelectronics.Jiaying Lin Rulin Liu Peixian Chen Yangfei Lv Junjie Hao Meijuan Chen Dongxiang Zhang Ruikun Pan Yiwen Li Xi Zhu Tingchao He Jiaji Cheng 2023Aggregate2023,4,4:0
