| 1 | A bioinspired high-modulus mineral hydrogel binder for improving the cycling stability of microsized silicon particle-based lithium-ion battery显示文摘Silicon with high specific capacity is deemed an ideal anode material for lithium ion batteries,which,however suffers from low cycling life due to its dramatic volume changes.Water-soluble polymer binders recently gain increasing attention by providing an eco-friendly and low-cost way in improving the cycling stability of Si-based anodes.Herein,a novel bioinspired supramolecular mineral hydrogel binder consisting of polyacrylic acid (PAA) physically crosslinked with amorphous calcium carbonate (ACC) nanoparticles is designed for high-performance anodes made from low-cost microsized Si particles.Owing to its organic-inorganic hydrophilic nature,ACC-PAA hybrid binder exhibits the reported highest modulus (~22 GPa) for polymer binders in electrolyte,even higher than lithiated Si species (Li15Si4,~12 GPa).Together with its excellent adhesion and electrochemical stability,ACC-PAA binder can effectively suppress the pulverization of Si particles and maintain the mechanical integrity of electrodes during cycling.Therefore,even with a low binder content,the anode still shows an initial discharge capacity of 2,973 mAh·g^-1 and Coulombic efficiency of 81.5%,and retains 75% at a current density of 600 mA·g^-1 after 100 cycles.The present organic-inorganic hybrid mineral binder may open a new approach for designing more effective polymer binders for Si-based lithium-ion batteries. | Meng Tian Xiao Chen Shengtong Sun Dong Yang Peiyi Wu | 2019 | Nano Research2019,12,5: | 9 |

| 5 | Hetero-bivalent nanobodies provide broad-spectrum protection against SARS-CoV-2 variants of concern including Omicron显示文摘SARS-CoV-2 variants with adaptive mutations have continued to emerge,causing fresh waves of infection even amongst vaccinated population.The development of broad-spectrum antivirals is thus urgently needed.We previously developed two hetero-bivalent nanobodies(Nbs),aRBD-2-5 and aRBD-2-7,with potent neutralization activity against the wild-type(WT)Wuhan isolated SARS-CoV-2,by fusing aRBD-2 with aRBD-5 and aRBD-7,respectively.Here,we resolved the crystal structures of these Nbs in complex with the receptor-binding domain(RBD)of the spike protein,and found that aRBD-2 contacts with highly conserved RBD residues and retains binding to the RBD of the Alpha,Beta,Gamma,Delta,Delta plus,Kappa,Lambda,Omicron BA.1,and BA.2 variants.In contrast,aRBD-5 and aRBD-7 bind to less conserved RBD epitopes non overlapping with the epitope of aRBD 2,and do not show apparent binding to the RBD of some variants.However,when fused with aRBD-2,they effectively enhance the overal binding affinity.Consistently,aRBD-2-5-Fc and aRBD-2-7 Fc potently neutralized all of the tested authentic or pseudotyped viruses,incuding WT,Alpha,Beta,Gamma,Delta,and Omicron BA.1,BA.1.1 and BA.2.Furthermore,aRBD-2-5-FC provided prophylactic protection against the WT and mouse-adapted SARS CoV-2 in mice,and conferred protection against the Omicron BA.1 variant in hamsters prophylatically and therapeutically,indicating that aRBD-2-5-Fc could potentially beneft the prevention and treatment of COVID-19 caused by the emerging variants of concern.Our strategy provides new solutions in the development of broad-spectrum therapeutic antibodies for COVID-19. | Huan Ma Xinghai Zhang Peiyi Zheng Peter H.Dube Weihong Zeng Shaohong Chen Qingyu Cheng Yunru Yang Yan Wu Junhui Zhou Xiaowen Hu Yan Xiang Huajun Zhang Sandra Chiu Tengchuan Jin | 2022 | Cell Research2022,32,9: | 1 |
| 6 | A potent neutralizing antibody provides protection against SARS-CoV-2 Omicron and Delta variants via nasal delivery显示文摘Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)is still rapidly spreading worldwide.Many drugs and vaccines have been approved for clinical use show efficacy in the treatment and prevention of SARS-CoV-2 infections.However,the emergence of SARS-CoV-2 variants of concern(VOCs),such as Delta(B.1.617.2)and the recently emerged Omicron(B.1.1.529),has seriously challenged the application of current therapeutics.Therefore,there is still a pressing need for identification of new broad-spectrum antivirals.Here,we further characterized a human antibody(58G6),which we previously isolated from a patient,with a broadly authentic virus-neutralizing activity that inhibits the Delta and Omicron variants with half-maximal inhibitory concentrations(ICso)of 1.69 ng/ml and 54.31 ng/ml,respectively.58G6 shows prophylactic and therapeutic effcacy in hamsters challenged with the Delta and Omicron variants through nasal delivery.Notably,a very low dosage(2 mg/kg daily)of 58G6 efficiently prevented Omicron variant replication in the lungs.These advantages may overcome the efficacy limitation of currently approved neutralizing antibodies that can be administered only by intravenous injection.In general,58G6 is a promising prophylactic and therapeutic candidate against current circulating VOCs and even future emerging mutants.To the best of our knowledge,58G6 is one of the most potent neutralizing antibodies against Omicron,with a broader spectrum than those approved for clinical use.58G6 could be developed as a nebulized therapy,which would be more cost effective and user friendly and enhance the clinical outcome comparedto thatobtainedwithdirect nasaldelivery. | Xinghai Zhang Huajun Zhang Tingting Li Shaohong Chen Feiyang Luo Junhui Zhou Peiyi Zheng Shuyi Song Yan Wu Tengchuan Jin Ni Tang Aishun Jin Chengyong Yang Guofeng Cheng Rui Gong Sandra Chiu Ailong Huang | 2022 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2022,7,9: | 1 |
| 7 | Regulating solid electrolyte interphases on phosphorus/carbon anodes via localized high-concentration electrolytes for potassium-ion batteries显示文摘The resourceful and inexpensive red phosphorus has emerged as a promising anode material of potassium-ion batteries(PIBs) for its large theoretical capacities and low redox potentials in the multielectron alloying/dealloying reactions,yet chronically suffering from the huge volume expansion/shrinkage with a sluggish reaction kinetics and an unsatisfactory interfacial stability against volatile electrolytes.Herein,we systematically developed a series of localized high-concentration electrolytes(LHCE) through diluting high-concentration ether electrolytes with a non-solvating fluorinated ether to regulate the formation/evolution of solid electrolyte interphases(SEI) on phosphorus/carbon(P/C) anodes for PIBs.Benefitting from the improved mechanical strength and structural stability of a robust/uniform SEI thin layer derived from a composition-optimized LHCE featured with a unique solvation structure and a superior K+migration capability,the P/C anode with noticeable pseudocapacitive behaviors could achieve a large reversible capacity of 760 mA h g^(-1)at 100 mA g^(-1),a remarkable capacity retention rate of 92.6% over 200 cycles at 800 mA g^(-1),and an exceptional rate capability of 334 mA h g^(-1)at8000 mA g^(-1).Critically,a suppressed reduction of ether solvents with a preferential decomposition of potassium salts in anion-derived interfacial reactions on P/C anode for LHCE could enable a rational construction of an outer organic-rich and inner inorganic-dominant SEI thin film with remarkable mechanical strength/flexibility to buffer huge volume variations and abundant K+diffusion channels to accelerate reaction kinetics.Additionally,the highly reversible/durable full PIBs coupling P/C anodes with annealed organic cathodes further verified an excellent practical applicability of LHCE.This encouraging work on electrolytes regulating SEI formation/evolution would advance the development of P/C anodes for high-performance PIBs. | Wei Xiao Peiyi Shi Zhengkui Li Chong Xie Jian Qin Huijuan Yang Jingjing Wang Wenbin Li Jiujun Zhang Xifei Li | 2023 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2023,,3: | 1 |
| 8 | Overall survival,late mortality,and cancer-directed surgery among children and adolescents with ultra-rare pediatric pancreatoblastoma in the United States,1975-2018显示文摘Background:Pediatric pancreatoblastoma is an extremely rare malignant tumor,posing diagnostic and treatment difficulties for pediatric surgeons.Using the Surveillance,Epidemiology,and End Results(SEER)database,we present an up-to-date report of the epidemiology,clinicopathological features,survival rates,and prognosis of pancreatoblastoma in pediatric patients.Methods:All pediatric patients diagnosed with pancreatoblastoma between 1975 and 2018 were identified in the SEER regis-tries(SEER 8 registries and SEER 17 registries).We conducted a survival analysis to assess overall survival and 1-and 5-year late mortality rates.Descriptive statistics and log-rank test were performed.Results:A total of 22 children and adolescents with pancreatoblastoma were identified.In this cohort,12 of 22 were male(54.55%),14 were White(63.64%),and 11 were diagnosed between the ages of 1 and 4 years(50.0%).Among the 22 patients,11(50.0%)had distant metastases,whereas 7(31.82%)had localized,and 4(18.18%)had a regional disease.A total of 5 children and adolescents died during the study period,with cumulative survival rates of 14 of 17(82.35%)and 10 of 11(90.95%)among 1-and 5-year survivors,respectively.Cancer-directed surgery was significantly associated with an increased life expectancy(log-rank test,P=.018).Conclusion:Pediatric pancreatoblastoma is a rare entity.Cases that underwent surgery had a greater likelihood of overall survival and reduced late mortality. | Peiyi Li Yujia Kong Lin Wan Jing Guo Weimin Li Hui Zhang Guang Yang Bo Zhang | 2023 | Journal of Pancreatology2023,6,2: | 0 |

| 11 | Development levels of pediatric palliative care teams and the extent of palliative care understanding and implementation among pediatric oncologists in China显示文摘Importance:Pediatric palliative care(PPC)is an interdisciplinary collaboration that focuses on the prevention and relief of patient suffering.PPC has emerged as a critical field of medical expertise and practice.However,no information is available regarding the progress of PPC in the Chinese mainland.Objective:This study investigated the geographic distribution,team structure,and services of PPC teams in the Chinese mainland.It also investigated the level of understanding and implementation among pediatric oncologists regarding PPC.Methods:The PPC subspecialty group of the Pediatrics Society of the Chinese Medical Association included 45 PPC teams.The team structure and services were investigated using questionnaires mailed to the team leader of each PPC team.In addition,we sent questionnaires regarding the level of PPC understanding and implementation of PPC practices to 170 pediatric oncologists in 11 hospitals.Results:The geographical distribution of PPC teams is uneven in China.Most PPC teams are concentrated in the eastern provincial capital of China.Most PPC teams had limited staff and services.The level of PPC understanding was considerably limited across all demographics;most pediatric oncologists reported“some understanding”(n=71,41.8%)or“poor understanding”(n=50,29.4%).Only 62.9%of pediatric oncologists had experience providing advice to family members regarding PPC matters.Interpretation:China is currently experiencing a critical shortage of PPC resources.Most pediatric oncologists had a limited understanding of PPC and reported limited practical implementation of PPC,which leads to underutilization of PPC resources. | Siyu Cai Qiaohong Guo Xianjing Wang Ruixin Wang Peiyi Yang Yuchen Zhou Yanhui Luo Xuan Zhou Xiaoxia Peng | 2021 | Pediatric Investigation2021,5,4: | 0 |
| 12 | Optimization of Population-Level Testing,Contact Tracing,and Isolation in Emerging COVID-19 Outbreaks:a Mathematical Modeling Study—Tonghua City and Beijing Municipality,China,2021–2022显示文摘Introduction:The transmissibility of the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)Omicron variant poses challenges for the existing measures containing the virus in China.In response,this study investigates the effectiveness of population-level testing(PLT)and contact tracing(CT)to help curb coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)resurgences in China.Methods:Two transmission dynamic models(i.e.with and without age structure)were developed to evaluate the effectiveness of PLT and CT.Extensive simulations were conducted to optimize PLT and CT strategies for COVID-19 control and surveillance.Results:Urban Omicron resurgences can be controlled by multiple rounds of PLT,supplemented by CT—as long as testing is frequent.This study also evaluated the time needed to detect COVID-19 cases for surveillance under different routine testing rates.The results show that there is a 90%probability of detecting COVID-19 cases within 3 days through daily testing.Otherwise,it takes around 7 days to detect COVID-19 cases at a 90%probability level if biweekly testing is used.Routine testing applied to the age group 21–60 for COVID-19 surveillance would achieve similar performance to that applied to all populations.Discussion:Our analysis evaluates potential PLT and CT strategies for COVID-19 control and surveillance. | Zengmiao Wang Ruixue Wang Peiyi Wu Bingying Li Yidan Li Yonghong Liu Xiaoli Wang Peng Yang Huaiyu Tian | 2023 | China CDC weekly2023,5,4: | 0 |
