1Protective effect of Jiaweibugan decoction against diabetic peripheral neuropathy显示文摘Oxygen free radical damage is regarded as a direct or indirect common pathway associated with diabetic neuropathy and is the main cause of complications in peripheral neuropathies. We speculate that Jiaweibugan decoction has a significant effect in treating diabetic peripheral neuropathy through an anti-oxidative stress pathway. In this study, a diabetic rat model was established by intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin. Rats were treated with Jiaweibugan decoction via intragastric administration. The levels of malondialdehyde and glutathione, which are indirect indexes of oxidative stress, in serum were determined using a colorimetric method. The expression levels of nuclear factor kappa B p65 mRNA and p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase, which are oxidative stress associated factors, in the dorsal root ganglion of spinal S 4-6 segments were evaluated by reverse-transcriptase polymerase chain reaction and immunohistochemistry. Results showed that, Jiaweibugan decoction significantly ameliorated motor nerve conduction velocity in diabetic rats, effectively decreased malondialdehyde levels in serum and the expression of nuclear factor kappa B p65 mRNA and p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase mRNA in the dorsal root ganglion, and increased glutathione levels in serum. Therefore, our experimental findings indicate that Jiaweibugan decoction plays an anti-oxidative stress role in the diabetic peripheral neuropathy process, which has a protective effect on peripheral nerve injury.Yu Wang Zeqi Chen Renqun Ye Yulei He Yuhong Li Xinjian Qiu 2013Neural Regeneration Research2013,8,12:5
2Increased prediction value of biomarker combinations for the conversion of mild cognitive impairment to Alzheimer's dementia显示文摘Background:Progression of mild cognitive impairment(MCI)to Alzheimer's disease(AD)dementia can be predicted by clinical features and a combination of biomarkers may increase the predictive power. In the present study,we investigated whether the combination of olfactory function and plasma neuronal-derived exosome(NDE)Aβ1-42 can best predict progression to AD dementia.Methods:Eighty-seven MCI patients were enrolled and received cognitive assessment at 2-year and 3-year follow-up to reevaluate cognition. In the meanwhile,80 healthy controls and 88 AD dementia patients were enrolled at baseline as well to evaluate the diagnose value in cross-section.Olfactory function was evaluated with the sniffin sticks(SS-16)and Aβ142 levels in NDES were determined by ELISA.Logistic regression was performed to evaluate the risk factors for cognitive decline in MCI at 2-year and 3-year revisits. Results:In the cross cohort, lower SS-16 scores and higher AB142 levels in NDES were found in MCI and AD dementia compared to healthy controls. For the longitudinal set,8 MCI individuals developed AD dementia within 2 years, and 16 MCI individuals developed AD dementia within 3 years. The two-parameter combination of SS-16 scores and Aβ1-42 level in NDEs showed better prediction in the conversion of MCI to AD dementia at 2-year and 3-year revisits. Moreover, after a 3-year follow-up,SS-16 scores also significantly predicted the conversion to AD dementia, where lower scores were associated with a 10-fold increased risk of developing AD dementia(p=0.006).Similarly,higher AB1-42 levels in NDES in patients with MCI increased the risk of developing AD dementia by 8.5-fold(p=0.002).Conclusion:A combination of two biomarkers NDE AB1-42 and SS-16 predicted the conversion of MCI to AD dementia more accurately. These findings have critical implications for understanding the pathophysiology of AD dementia and for developing preventative treatments for cognitive decline.Aonan Zhao Yuanyuan Li Yi Yan Yinghui Qiu Binyin Li Wei Xu Ying Wang Jun Liu Yulei Deng 2020Translational Neurodegeneration2020,9,3:2

5Efficacy and safety of Sancai powder in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus: a randomized controlled trial显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To assess the efficacy and safety of Sancai powder in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM) inadequately controlled with single oral metformin in a randomized controlled trial(RCT).METHODS: A total of 132 patients with T2 DM were enrolled in the study, who only took metformin(500-1000 mg/day) for at least three months and with inadequate glycemic control(7.0% ≤ hemoglobin A1 c ≤ 9.0%) in the past three months. The patients stopped taking metformin with lifestyle interventions for three weeks, and 105 patients qualified for the program. They were randomly divided into the Sancai powder group and the metformin group(1500 mg/day). The follow-up period was for 12 weeks. Comparisons of several variables were analyzed.RESULTS: No significant differences were found between the two groups in hemoglobin A1c(Hb A1c),fasting plasma glucose(FPG) and 2 h post-meal glucose(2h PG), although they had decreased significantly(P < 0.01). Homeostasis model assessment of beta cell function index was significantly improved in Sancai powder group(P < 0.01), and there were significant differences in the changes of homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance and insulin sensitivity index in the two groups(P < 0.05). Sancai powder significantly reduced triglyceride level(P < 0.05), although there was no significant difference in the body weight and body mass index in the two groups.CONCLUSION: In this 12-week study, Sancai powder could significantly reduce hemoglobin A1 c,FPG and 2h PG levels, improved beta-cell function and insulin resistance of the T2 DM inadequately controlled with metformin.Guo Qiang Zhang Hengyao Li Mindian Zhao Ziyi Luo Yunlin Luo Yulei Cao Wenzhai Zhao Huan Zhu Ranran Lei Xingxing Chen Huizhen Gan Huakui Zuo Zhihuang Chen Qi Shi Cuimei Zhang Xinli Guo Jian Zhong Sen Chen Qiu 2016Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2016,36,5:1
6LUT:A Lunar-based Ultraviolet Telescope显示文摘The Lunar-based Ultraviolet Telescope (LUT) is a funded lunar-based ultraviolet telescope dedicated to continuously monitoring variable stars for as long as dozens of days and performing low Galactic latitude sky surveys. The slow and smooth spin of the Moon makes its step by step pointing strategy possible. A flat mirror mounted on a gimbal mount is configured to enlarge the sky coverage of the LUT. A Ritchey-Chrétien telescope with a Nasmyth focus configuration is adopted to reduce the total length of the system. A UV enhanced back illuminated AIMO CCD 47-20 chip together with the low noise electric design will minimize the instrumental influence on the system. The preliminary proposal for astrometric calibration and photometric calibration are also presented.CAO Li RUAN Ping CAI HongBo DENG JinSong HU JingYao JIANG XiaoJun LIU ZhaoHui QIU YuLei WANG Jing WANG Shen YANG JianFeng ZHAO Fei WEI JianYan 2011Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2011,54,3:0
