| 1 | Pediatric reference intervals in China(PRINCE):design and rationale for a large,multicenter collaborative cross-sectional study显示文摘There is a lack of accurate pediatric reference intervals(RIs) in China, with most commonly used RIs established without consideration of the effect of age and gender. The Pediatric Reference Intervals in China(PRINCE) project aims to establish and verify pediatric RIs for 31 common laboratory measurands.The project will be a large, multicenter cross-sectional study:14,490 healthy children and adolescents aged up to 19 years will be surveyed by 10 children's hospitals and one pediatric department of a university hospital. To evaluate the feasibility and efficiency of the study methods, 602 children were surveyed in the pilot phase of the PRINCE study in April 2017: it found that some measurands were distinctly age dependent and that there were differences between values for males and females. The results of the pilot study affirmed the necessity of the PRINCE project for Chinese pediatrics. The pilot also indicated potential difficulties in the full survey, e.g., difficulties in recruiting children aged under 3 years and insufficient collection of blood samples from infants. | 3 | Influences of alternate partial root-zone irrigation and urea rate on water-and nitrogen-use efficiencies in tomato显示文摘Traditional water and fertilizer inputs are often much higher than the actual demands of tomato,which causes a reduction in water-and fertilizer-use efficiencies.To investigate the advantage of alternate partial root-zone irrigation(AI)on water-and nitrogen(N)-use efficiencies of tomato modified by water and N management,taking conventional irrigation(CI)as the control,the effects of AI on root morphology and activity,fruit yield and water and N use efficiency were studied using pot experiments.There were four combinations of irrigation levels and growing stages of tomato for AI,i.e.AI_(1)(high water(W_(H))from blooming to harvest stage(BHS)),AI_(2)(W_(H)from blooming to fruit setting stage(BFS)and low water(W_(L))at the harvest stage(HS)),AI_(3)(W_(L)at BFS and W_(H)at HS)and AI_(4)(W_(L)at BHS)at three urea rates,i.e.low urea rate(NL),middle urea rate(N_(M))and high urea rate(N_(H))in the form of urea.Irrigation quotas for W_(H)and W_(L)in AI at BFS or HS were 80%and 60%of that in CI,respectively.Compared to CI,AI decreased water consumption by 16.0%-33.1%and increased water use efficiency of yield(WUE_(y))and dry mass(WUE_(d))by 6.7%-11.9%and 10.2%-15.9%,respectively.AI_(1)did not decline yield,total N uptake(TNU)and N use efficiency(NUE)significantly.Compared to NL,N_(M)enhanced tomato yield,TNU,WUE_(y)and WUE_(d)by 28.5%,35.3%,22.6%and 16.3%,respectively.Compared to CINL,AI_(1)N_(M)reduced water consumption by 12.5%,but increased tomato yield,TNU,WUE_(y)and WUE_(d)by 35.5%,58.4%,54.4%and 53.7%,respectively.Therefore,AI_(1)can improve water use efficiency and total N uptake of tomato simultaneously at medium urea rate. | Liu Xiaogang Li Fusheng Zhang Fucang Cai Huanjie Yang Qiliang | 2017 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2017,10,6: | 4 |
| 4 | Assessment of potential dermal and inhalation exposure of workers to the insecticide imidacloprid using whole-body dosimetry in China显示文摘In China, although improvements to the pesticide registration process have been made in la thirty years, no occupational exposure data are required to obtain a commercial license for pesticide product. Consequently, notably little research has been conducted to establish a exposure assessment procedure in China. The present study monitored the potential derm operator exposure from knapsack electric sprayer wheat field application of imidacloprid Liaocheng City, Shandong Province and in Xinxiang City, Henan Province, China, usin whole-body dosimetry. The potential inhalation exposure was determined using a person air pump and XAD-2 sample tubes. The analytical method was developed and validate including such performance parameters as limits of detection and quantification, linear rang recovery and precision. The total potential dermal and inhalation exposures were 14.20, 16.815.39 and 20.78 m L/hr, respectively, for the four operators in Liaocheng and Xinxian corresponding to 0.02% to 0.03% of the applied volume of spray solution. In all trials, the low part(thigh, lower leg) of the body was the most contaminated, accounting for approximate76% to 88% of the total exposure. The inhalation exposure was less than 1% of the tot exposure. Such factors as the application pattern, crop type, spray equipment, operat experience and climatic conditions have been used to explain the exposure distribution ov the different parts of the body. | 6 | In situ stress state and seismic hazard in the Dayi seismic gap of the Longmenshan thrust belt显示文摘In the Longmenshan thrust belt,the Dayi seismic gap,an area with few earthquakes,is located between the ruptures of the 2008 Wenchuan Earthquake and the 2013 Lushan Earthquake,with a length of approximately 40–60 km.To date,however,the extent of the seismic hazard of the Dayi seismic gap and whether this gap is under high stress are still hotly debated.To further evaluate the seismic hazard of the Dayi seismic gap with regard to stress,two boreholes(1,000 and 500 m deep)were arranged to carry out hydraulic fracturing in situ stress measurement on either side of the Shuangshi-Dachuan fault zone.This zone has a high seismic hazard and the capacity to undergo surface rupture.Through the analogy of this new data with stability analysis using Byerlee’s Law and existing stress measurement data collected before strong earthquakes,the results show that the area surrounding the Shuangshi-Dachuan fault zone in the Dayi seismic gap(Dachuan Town)is in a state of high in situ stress,and has the conditions necessary for friction slip,with the potential hazard of moderate to strong earthquakes.Our results are the first to reveal the in situ stress profile at a depth of 1,000 m in the Dayi seismic gap,and provide new data for comprehensive evaluation of the seismic hazard in this seismic gap,which is of great significance to explore the mechanism of earthquake occurrence and to help mitigate future disaster. | Bing LI Furen XIE Jinshui HUANG Xiwei XU Qiliang GUO Guangwei ZHANG Junshan XU Jianxin WANG Dawei JIANG Jian WANG Lifeng DING | 2022 | Science China Earth Sciences2022,65,7: | 3 |

| 11 | Ex Vivo Stimulation of Tumor-Draining Lymph Node Cells from Lung Cancer Patients:A Potential Resource for Adoptive Immunotherapy显示文摘To find a feasible method for the stimulation of tumor-draining lymph node (TDLN) cells in preparation for use in the clinic,the CTL activity of TDLN cells induced by different stimuli (IL-2 alone,IL-2 + autologous tumor antigen (atAg),IL-2 + GM-CSF + IL-4 + atAg) was measured by maximal LDH enzyme release. The mechanisms were explored by the observation of morphology and the detection of CD83+ TDLN cells. The expansion of TDLN cells by IL-2 + GM-CSF + IL-4 + atAg was significantly higher than that by IL-2 alone or IL-2 + atAg (p < 0.01). Antitumor CTL activity of TDLN cells induced by IL-2 + GM-CSF + IL-4 + atAg was significantly higher than those of other groups. The number of CD83+ cells within the TDLN population treated with IL-2 + GM-CSF + IL-4 + atAg was significantly elevated. The method of stimulating TDLN cells by IL-2 + GM-CSF + IL-4 + atAg was better than the stimulation with IL-2 or IL-2 + atAg. TDLN cells induced by IL-2 + GM-CSF + IL-4 + atAg produced more dendritic cells (DCs). In our study,we established a system that T cells and DCs were stimulated together ex vivo,which was easy to conduct and produce promising results. | 12 | Potential of performance improvement of concentrated solar power plants by optimizing the parabolic trough receiver显示文摘This paper proposes a comprehensive thermodynamic and economic model to predict and compare the performance of concentrated solar power plants with traditional and novel receivers with different configurations involving operating temperatures and locations.The simulation results reveal that power plants with novel receivers exhibit a superior thermodynamic and economic performance compared with traditional receivers.The annual electricity productions of power plants with novel receivers in Phoenix,Sevilla,and Tuotuohe are 8.5%,10.5%,and 14.4%higher than those with traditional receivers at the outlet temperature of 550℃.The levelized cost of electricity of power plants with double-selectivecoated receivers can be decreased by 6.9%,8.5%,and 11.6%.In Phoenix,the optimal operating temperature of the power plants is improved from 500℃to 560℃by employing a novel receiver.Furthermore,the sensitivity analysis of the receiver heat loss,solar absorption,and freeze protection temperature is also conducted to analyze the general rule of influence of the receiver performance on power plants performance.Solar absorption has a positive contribution to annual electricity productions,whereas heat loss and freeze protection temperature have a negative effect on electricity outputs.The results indicate that the novel receiver coupled with low melting temperature molten salt is the best configuration for improving the overall performance of the power plants. | Honglun YANG Qiliang WANG Jingyu CAO Gang PEI Jing LI | 2020 | Frontiers in Energy2020,14,4: | 1 |
