Evolution of strontium isotopic composition of sea-water from Late Permian to Early Triassic based on study of marine carbonates,Zhongliang Mountain,Chongqing,China显示文摘Collected from a Late Permian to Early Triassic sedimentary section in the Zhongliang Mountain of Chongqing, Southwest China, sixty marine carbonate samples were measured for the 87Sr/86Sr ratios, and corresponding evolution curve was constructed. The concentrations of SiO2, CaO, MgO, Mn and Sr are used to evaluate reservation of strontium isotopic composition for original seawater and the credi-bility of the dissolution method for sample preparation. The results show that most of the samples (except seven samples with the Mn/Sr ratios higher than 2) contain the original geochemistry signa-tures of ancient seawater. Compared to the published 87Sr/86Sr ratios from the Late Permian to Early Triassic, our database reported here is the largest and the curve constructed is the most complete. The strontium isotopic curve from Late Permian to Early Triassic is consistent globally and exhibits a gen-eral trend of steady increase during this period. The minimum of 87Sr/86Sr ratios (0.707011) occurs in the Late Permian (30 m in thickness below the Permian-Triassic boundary), and the maximum (0.708281), near the Early-Middle Triassic boundary. The lack of land plants and the rapid continental weathering result in the increase of 87Sr/86Sr ratios during the interval. The Permian-Triassic boundary in Zhongli-ang Mountain Section has been accepted internationally. The 87Sr/86Sr ratios of six samples near the boundary vary from 0.70714 to 0.70715 with an average of 0.70714, which is consistent with the value of 0.70715 (samples are from articulate brachiopod shells) from Korte et al. published in 2006 (within the error range in experiment). Accordingly, the strontium isotope composition in the Permian-Triassic boundary in this paper is of global significance. It can be confirmed that the 87Sr/86Sr ratios of the sea-water in the Permian-Triassic transition are in the range of 0.70714―0.70715. | HUANG SiJing Qing HaiRuo HUANG PeiPei HU ZuoWei WANG QingDong ZOU MingLiang LIU HaoNian | 2008 | Science China Earth Sciences2008,51,4: | 24
Adenovirus-mediated wild-type p53 gene transfer in combination with bronchial arterial infusion for treatment of advanced non-small-cell lung cancer, one year follow-up显示文摘Objective:In the present study,we have examined the safety and efficacy of recombinant adenovirus encoding human p53 tumor suppressor gene(rAd-p53) injection in patients with advanced non-small-cell lung cancer(NSCLC) in the combination with the therapy of bronchial arterial infusion(BAI).Methods:A total of 58 patients with advanced NSCLC were enrolled in a non-randomized,two-armed clinical trial.Of which,19 received a combination treatment of BAI and rAd-p53(the combo group),while the remaining 39 were treated with only BAI(the control group).Patients were followed up for 12 months, with safety and local response evaluated by the National Cancer Institute's Common Toxicity Criteria and response evaluation criteria in solid tumor(RECIST),respectively.Time to progression(TTP) and survival rates were also analyzed by Kaplan-Meier method. Results:In the combo group,19 patients received a total of 49 injections of rAd-p53 and 46 times of BAI,respectively, while 39 patients in the control group received a total of 113 times of BAI.The combination treatment was found to have less adverse events such as anorexia, nausea and emesis, pain, and leucopenia(P<0.05) but more arthralgia,fever,influenza-like symptom, and myalgia(P<0.05),compared with the control group. The overall response rates(complete response(CR)+partial response(PR)) were 47.3% and 38.4% for the combo group and the control group,respectively(P>0.05).Patients in the combo group had a longer TTP than those in the control group(a median 7.75 vs 5.5 months,P=0.018).However,the combination treatment did not lead to better survival, with survival rates at 3,6,and 12 months in the combo group being 94.74%,89.47%,and 52.63%,respectively,compared with 92.31%,69.23%,and 38.83% in the control group(P=0.224).Conclusion:Our results show that the combination of rAd-p53 and BAI was well tolerated in patients with NSCLC and may have improved the quality of life and delayed the disease progression.A further study to better determine the efficacy of this combination therapy is warranted. | Yong-song GUAN Yuan LIU Qing ZOU Qing HE Zi LA Lin YANG Ying HU | 2009 | Journal of Zhejiang University-Science B(Biomedicine & Biotechnology)2009,10,5: | 20
From concept to reality-A review to the primary test stand and its preliminary application in high energy density physics显示文摘Pulsed power technology, whereas the electrical energy stored in a relative long period is released in much shorter timescale,is an efficient method to create high energy density physics(HEDP)conditions in laboratory.Around the beginning of this century,China Academy of Engineering Physics(CAEP)began to build some experimental facilities for HEDP investigations, among which the Primary Test Stand(PTS),a multi-module pulsed power facility with a nominal current of 10 MA and a current rising time~90 ns,is an important achievement on the roadmap of the electro-magnetically driven inertial confinement fusion(ICF)researches.PTS is the first pulsed power facility beyond 10 TW in China. Therefore, all the technologies have to be demonstrated, and all the engineering issues have to be overcome. In this article, the research outline, key technologies and the preliminary HEDP experiments are reviewed.Prospects on HEDP research on PTS and pulsed power development for the next step are also discussed. | Jianjun Deng Weiping Xie Shuping Feng Meng Wang Hongtao Li Shengyi Song Minghe Xia Ji Ce An He Qing Tian Yuanchao Gu Yongchao Guan Bin Wei Xianbin Huang Xiaodong Ren Jiakun Dan Jing Li Shaotong Zhou Hongchun Cai Siqun Zhang Kunlun Wang Qiang Xu Yujuan Wang Zhaohui Zhang Guilin Wang Shuai Guo Yi He Yiwei Zhou Zhanji Zhang Libing Yang Wenkang Zou | 2016 | Matter and Radiation at Extremes2016,1,1: | 19
Hepatitis B virus infection:A favorable prognostic factor for intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma after resection显示文摘AIM: To study the prognostic factors for intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) and evaluate the impact of chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection on survival rate of ICC patients. METHODS: A total of 155 ICC patients who underwent macroscopic curative resections (R0 and R1) were enrolled in this retrospective study and divided into group A with HBV infection and group B without HBV infection according to their chronic HBV infection, represented by positive hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) in serum or in liver tissue. Clinicopathological characteristics and survival rate of the patients were evaluated. RESULTS: All patients underwent anatomical resection. Their 1- and 3-year survival rates were 60.6% and 32.1%, respectively. Multivariate analyses revealed that HBV infection, hepatolithiasis, microscopic satellite lesion, and lymphatic metastasis were the independent prognostic factors for the survival rate of ICC patients. The median disease-free survival time of the patients was 5.0 mo. The number of tumors, microscopic satellite lesion, and vascular invasion were the independent prognostic factors for the disease-free survival rate of the patients. The prognostic factors affecting the survival rate of ICC patients with HBV infection and those without HBV infection were not completely consistent. Alkaline phosphatase > 119 U/L, microscopic satellite lesion, vascular invasion, and lymphatic metastasis were the independent factors for the patients with HBV infection, while rglutamyltransferase > 64 U/L, microscopic satellite lesion, and poor tumor differentiation were the independent factors for the patients without HBV infection. CONCLUSION: HBV infection is a valuable clinical factor for predicting tumor invasiveness and clinical outcome of ICC patients. ICC patients with HBV infection should be distinguished from those without HBV infection because they have different clinicopathological characteristics, prognostic factors and outcomes after surgical resection. | Hua-Bang Zhou Hui Wang Yu-Qiong Li Shuang-Xi Li Hao Wang Dong-Xun Zhou Qian-Qian Tu Qing Wang Shan-Shan Zou Meng-Chao Wu He-Ping Hu | 2011 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2011,17,10: | 16
Fe2N nanoparticles boosting FeNx moieties for highly efficient oxygen reduction reaction in Fe-N-C porous catalyst显示文摘Replacing Pt-based electrocatalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) with high performance and low-cost non-precious metal catalysts is crucial for the commercialization of fuel cells.Herein,we present a highly efficient Fe-N-C porous ORR electrocatalyst with FeNx moieties promoted by Fe2N nanoparticles derived from Fe-doped zeolitic imidazolate framework. The best-performing Fe-N-C/HPC-NH3 catalyst exhibits a superior ORR activity with an onset (E0) and half-wave (E1/2) potential of 0.945 and 0.803 V (RHE),respectively, which is comparable to those of the commercial Pt/C in acidic media.Probing and acid-leaching experiments prove that FeNx moieties play an important role in the ORR and the Fe2N can further improve the ORR activity.Density functional theory calculation reveals a synergistic effect that the existence of Fe2N weakens the adsorption of ORR intermediates on active sites and lowers the reaction free energy of the potential limiting step, thus facilitating the ORR.Both experimental evidence and theoretical analysis for the enhancement of ORR activity by Fe2N decoration in Fe-N-C catalyst might inspire a new strategy for rational design of high performance non-precious metal catalysts. | Xiao Liu Hong Liu Chi Chen Liangliang Zou Yuan Li Qing Zhang Bo Yang Zhiqing Zou Hui Yang | 2019 | Nano Research2019,12,7: | 14
Locoregional radiotherapy in patients with distant metastases of nasopharyngeal carcinoma at diagnosis显示文摘Systemic chemotherapy is the basic palliative treatment for metastatic nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC); however, it is not known whether locoregional radiotherapy targeting the primary tumor and regional lymph nodes affects the survival of patients with metastatic NPC. Therefore, we aimed to retrospectively evaluate the benefits of locoregional radiotherapy. A total of 408 patients with metastatic NPC were included in this study. The mortality risks of the patients undergoing supportive treatment and those undergoing chemotherapy were compared with that of patients undergoing locoregional radiotherapy delivered alone or in combination with chemotherapy. Univariate and multivariate analyses were conducted. The contributions of independent factors were assessed after adjustment for covariates with significant prognostic associations (P<0.05). Both locoregional radiotherapy and systemic chemotherapy were identified as significant independent prognostic factors of overall survival(OS). The mortality risk was similar in the group undergoing locoregional radiotherapy alone and the group undergoing systemic chemotherapy alone [multi-adjusted hazard ratio(HR)=0.9, P=0.529]; this risk was 60% lower than that of the group undergoing supportive treatment(HR=0.4, P=0.004) and 130% higher than that of the group undergoing both systemic chemotherapy and locoregional radiotherapy(HR=2.3, P<0.001). In conclusion, locoregional radiotherapy, particularly when combined with systemic chemotherapy, is associated with improved survival of patients with metastatic NPC. | Ming-Yuan Chen Rou Jiang Ling Guo Xiong Zou Qing Liu Rui Sun Fang Qiu Zhong-Jun Xia Hui-Qiang Huang Li Zhang Ming-Huang Hong Hai-Qiang Mai Chao-Nan Qian | 2013 | Chinese Journal of Cancer2013,32,11: | 13

Study on Female Sexual Dysfunction in Type 2 Diabetic Chinese Women显示文摘Objective To investigate the female sexual dysfunction (FSD) in type 2 diabetes patients, by comparing the sexual function between type 2 diabetic women and non-diabetic women with Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI). Methods 115 type 2 diabetic women and 107 age-matched non-diabetes women were enrolled with similar backgrounds. Their sexual functions were evaluated with FSFI. Metabolic parameters such as body mass index, blood lipid profile, hemoglobin A1C, plasma glucose were also collected. Results Total score of FSFI of the type 2 diabetic women were significantly lower than that of the non-diabetic controls (18.27±8.96 vs. 23.02±5.78, P=0.000). Scores of the FSFI domains (desire, arousal, lubrication, orgasm, satisfaction, pain) of the type 2 diabetic group were also lower than those of the control group. According to the FSD criterion (FSFI<25) available in China, the percentage of FSD in the type 2 diabetic group was significantly higher than that of the control group (79.2% vs. 55.0%, P<0.001). These trends seemed more prominent in pre-menopause subgroups. The logistic regression analysis indicated that age and diabetes were independent risk factors of FSD. Body Mass Index (BMI) also had influence in the diabetes group. Conclusion Findings from this study showed that there are more FDS in Chinese type 2 diabetic women than in their non-diabetic counterparts, especially in pre-menopause participants. | SHI Yao Fang SHAO Xin Yu LOU Qing Qing CHEN Ya Juan ZHOU Hui Juan ZOU Jian Ying | 2012 | Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2012,25,5: | 10
Transarterial injection of H101 in combination with chemoembolization overcomes recurrent hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘Transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) has become the standard treatment modality for unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Nonetheless, the clinical outcomes in patients with unresectable HCC are often unsatisfactory, especially in those with recurrent HCC. H101, an E1B gene deleted adenovirus, is known to have a significant antitumor activity. In addition, local injection of H101 can enhance the effect of antitumor therapies (chemotherapy and radiotherapy). Transarterial H101 gene injection in combination with TACE may help to control refractory and recurrent HCC. In this study, we report a 55-year-old patient with recurrent HCC which was treated with transarterial injection of H101 in combination with TACE, leading to a good clinical prognosis of the patient. | Qing He Yang Liu Qing Zou Yong-Song Guan | 2011 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2011,17,18: | 8
Super stable CsPbBr3@SiO2 tumor imaging reagent by stress-response encapsulation显示文摘Great photoelectric properties can herald the high potentials of CsPbBr3 nanocrystals(NCs)to function as the fluorescent probes for early tumor diagnosis. However, the intrinsic water vulnerability of CsPbBr3 NCs highly restricts their biomedical applications. To conquer this challenge,we herein introduce a nature inspired'stress-response'method to tightly encapsulate CsPbBr3 into SiO2 nano-shells that can dramatically improve the water stability of CsPbBr3@SiO2 nanoparticles for over 48 h.We further highlighted the advantageous features of CsPbBr3@SiO2 by using them as the fluorescent probes for CT26 tumor cell imaging with their high water stability, biocompatibility, and low cytotoxicity. Our work for the first time exhibited the potential of lead halide perovskite NCs for tumor diagnosis, and can highly anticipate the further in vivo biomedical applications that light up live cells. | Wentao Song Yiming Wang Bing Wang Yingfang Yao Wenguang Wang Jinhui Wu Qing Shen Wenjun Luo Zhigang Zou | 2020 | Nano Research2020,13,3: | 7
An-Luo-Hua-Xian Pill Improves the Regression of Liver Fibrosis in Chronic Hepatitis B Patients Treated with Entecavir显示文摘Background and Aims:Chronic hepatitis B(CHB)can cause liver fibrosis and lead to cirrhosis and cancer. As the effectiveness of antiviral therapy to reverse liver fibrosis is limited,We aimed to evaluate the effect of An-Luo-Hua-Xian pill(ALHX)on fibrosis regression in CHB patients treated with entecavir(ETV).Methods:Treatment-naïve patients with CHB were randomly treated with ETV alone or combined with ALHX(ETV+ALHX)between October 1,2013 and December 31,2020.Demographic,laboratory,and liver histology data before and after 78 weeks of treatment were collected. The Ishak fibrosis score(F)was used and fibrosis regression required a decrease in F of≥1 after treatment. Results:A total of 780 patients were enrolled, and 394 with a second liver biopsy after treatment were included in the per-protocol population,132 in ETV group and 262 in ETV+ALHX group. After 78 weeks of treatment, the fibrosis regression rate in the ETV+ALHX group was significantly higher than that of the ETV group at baseline F≥3 patients:124/211(58.8%)vs.45/98(45.9%),p=0.035.The percentage of patients with a decreased liver stiffness measurement(LSM)was higher in the ETV+ALHX group:156/211(73.9%)vs.62/98(63.%),p=0.056.Logistic regression analysis showed that ETV combined with ALHX was associated with fibrosis regression[odds ratio(OR)=1.94,p=0.018],and a family history of hepatocellular carcinoma was on the contrary.(OR=0.41,p=0.031).Conclusions:ETV combined with ALHX increased liver fibrosis regression in CHB patients. | Yi-Qi Liu Chi Zhang Jia-Wen Li Li-Hua Cao Zhan-Qing Zhang Wei-Feng Zhao Qing-Hua Shang Da-Zhi Zhang An-Lin Ma Qing Xie Hong-Lian Gui Guo Zhang Ying-Xia Liu Jia Shang Shi-Bin Xie Jun Li Xu-Qing Zhang Zhi-Qiang Zou Yu-Ping Chen Zong Zhang Ming-Xiang Zhang Jun Cheng Fu-Chun Zhang Li-Hua Huang Jia-Bin Li Qing-Hua Meng Hai-Bin Yu Yu-Qiang Mi Yan-Zhong Peng Zhi-Jin Wang Li-Ming Chen Fan-Ping Meng Wan-Hua Ren Lang Bai Yi-Lan Zeng Rong Fan Xian-Zhi Lou Wei-Feng Liang Hui Liu Hui Zhuang Hong Zhao Gui-Qiang Wang | 2023 | Journal of Clinical and Translational Hepatology2023,11,2: | 7
Clinical features and the traditional Chinese medicine therapeutic characteristics of 293 COVID-19 inpatient cases显示文摘Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is now pandemic worldwide and has heavily overloaded hospitals in Wuhan City, China during the time between late January and February. We reported the clinical features and therapeutic characteristics of moderate COVID-19 cases in Wuhan that were treated via the integration of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and Western medicine. We collected electronic medical record (EMR) data, which included the full clinical profiles of patients, from a designated TCM hospital in Wuhan. The structured data of symptoms and drugs from admission notes were obtained through an information extraction process. Other key clinical entities were also confirmed and normalized to obtain information on the diagnosis, clinical treatments, laboratory tests, and outcomes of the patients. A total of 293 COVID-19 inpatient cases, including 207 moderate and 86 (29.3%) severe cases, were included in our research. Among these cases, 238 were discharged, 31 were transferred, and 24 (all severe cases) died in the hospital. Our COVID-19 cases involved elderly patients with advanced ages (57 years on average) and high comorbidity rates (61%). Our results reconfirmed several well-recognized risk factors, such as age, gender (male), and comorbidities, as well as provided novel laboratory indications (e.g., cholesterol) and TCM-specific phenotype markers (e.g., dull tongue) that were relevant to COVID-19 infections and prognosis. In addition to antiviral/antibiotics and standard supportive therapies, TCM herbal prescriptions incorporating 290 distinct herbs were used in 273 (93%) cases. The cases that received TCM treatment had lower death rates than those that did not receive TCM treatment (17/273= 6.2% vs. 7/20= 35%, P = 0.0004 for all cases;17/77= 22% vs. 7/9= 77.7%, P = 0.002 for severe cases). The TCM herbal prescriptions used for the treatment of COVID-19 infections mainly consisted of Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae, Radix Scutellariae, Rhizoma Pinellia, and their combinations, which reflected the practical TCM principles (e.g., clearing heat and dampening phlegm). Lastly, 59% of the patients received treatment, including antiviral, antibiotics, and Chinese patent medicine, before admission. This situation might have some effects on symptoms, such as fever and dry cough. By using EMR data, we described the clinical features and therapeutic characteristics of 293 COVID-19 cases treated via the integration of TCM herbal prescriptions and Western medicine. Clinical manifestations and treatments before admission and in the hospital were investigated. Our results preliminarily showed the potential effectiveness of TCM herbal prescriptions and their regularities in COVID-19 treatment. | Zixin Shu Yana Zhou Kai Chang Jifen Liu Xiaojun Min Qing Zhang Jing Sun Yajuan Xiong Qunsheng Zou Qiguang Zheng Jinghui Ji Josiah Poon Baoyan Liu Xuezhong Zhou Xiaodong Li | 2020 | Frontiers of Medicine2020,14,6: | 7
Simultaneous incorporation of PTH(1-34) and nano-hydroxyapatite into Chitosan/Alginate Hydrogels for efficient bone regeneration显示文摘Tissue regeneration based on the utilization of artificial soft materials is considered a promising treatment for bone-related diseases. Here,we report cranial bone regeneration promoted by hydrogels that contain parathyroid hormone(PTH)peptide PTH(1-34)and nano-hydroxyapatite(nHAP).A combination of the positively charged natural polymer chitosan(CS)and negatively charged sodium alginate led to the formation of hydrogels with porous structures,as shown by scanning electron microscopy.Rheological characterizations revealed that the mechanical properties of the hydrogels were almost maintained upon the addition of nHAP and PTH(1-34).In vitro experiments showed that the hydrogel containing nHAP and PTH(1-34)exhibited strong biocompatibility and facilitated osteogenic differentiation of rat bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells(rBMSCs)via the Notch signaling pathway,as shown by the upregulated expression of osteogenic-related proteins. We found that increasing the content of PTH(1-34)in the hydrogels resulted in enhanced osteogenic differentiation of BMSCs.Implantation of the complex hydrogel into a rat cranial defect model led to efficient bone regeneration compared to the rats treated with the hydrogel alone or with nHAP,indicating the simultaneous therapeutic effect of nHAP and PTH during the treatment process. Both the in vitro and in vivo results demonstrated that simultaneously incorporating nHAP and PTH into hydrogels shows promise for bone regeneration, suggesting a new strategy for tissue engineering and regeneration in the future. | Zhiyuan Zou Le Wang Zhifei Zhou Qing Sun Delong Liu Yan Chen Hao Hu Yu Cai Sixiong Lin Zhengran Yu Bizhi Tan Wei Guo Zemin Ling Xuenong Zou | 2021 | Bioactive Materials2021,6,6: | 7
The FGOALS climate system model as a modeling tool for supporting climate sciences:An overview显示文摘Climate system models are useful tools for understanding the interactions among the components of the climate system and predicting/projecting future climate change. The development of climate models has been a central focus of the State Key Laboratory of Numerical Modeling for Atmospheric Sciences and Geophysical Fluid Dynamics, Institute of Atmospheric Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences(LASG/IAP) since the establishment of the laboratory in 1985. In China, many pioneering component models and fully coupled models of the climate system have been developed by LASG/IAP. The fully coupled climate system developed in the recent decade is named FGOALS(Flexible Global Ocean-Atmosphere-Land System Model). In this paper, an application-oriented review of the LASG/IAP FGOALS model is presented. The improved model performances are demonstrated in the context of cloud-radiation processes, Asian monsoon, ENSO phenomena, Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation(AMOC) and sea ice. The FGOALS model has contributed to both CMIP5(Coupled Model Intercomparison Project-phase 5) and IPCC(Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) AR5(the Fifth Assessment Report). The release of FGOALS data has supported the publication of nearly 500 papers around the world. The results of FGOALS are cited ~106 times in the IPCC WG1(Working Group 1) AR5. In addition to the traditional long-term simulations and projections, near-term decadal climate prediction is a new set of CMIP experiment, progress of LAGS/IAP in the development of nearterm decadal prediction system is reviewed. The FGOALS model has supported many Chinese national-level research projects and contributed to the national climate change assessment report. The crucial role of FGOALS as a modeling tool for supporting climate sciences is highlighted by demonstrating the model's performances in the simulation of the evolution of Earth's climate from the past to the future. | TianJun Zhou Bin Wang YongQiang Yu YiMin Liu WeiPeng Zheng LiJuan Li Bo Wu PengFei Lin Zhun Guo WenMin Man Qing Bao AnMin Duan HaiLong Liu XiaoLong Chen Bian He JianDong Li LiWei Zou XiaoCong Wang LiXia Zhang Yong Sun WenXia Zhang | 2018 | Earth and Planetary Physics2018,2,4: | 6
The chromosome-level Hemerocallis citrina Borani genome provides new insights into the rutin biosynthesis and the lack of colchicine显示文摘Hemerocallis citrina Borani(huang hua cai in Chinese)is an important horticultural crop whose flower buds are widely consumed as a delicious vegetable in Asia. Here we assembled a high-quality reference genome of H.citrina using single-molecule sequencing and Hi-C technologies. The genome assembly was 3.77 Gb and consisted of 3183 contigs with a contig N50 of 2.09 Mb,which were further clustered into 11 pseudochromosomes.A larger portion(3.25 Gb or 86.20%)was annotated as a repetitive content and 54,295 protein-coding genes were annotated in the genome.Genome evolution analysis showed that H.citrina experienced a recent whole-genome duplication(WGD)event at~15.73 million years ago(Mya),which was the main factor leading to many multiple copies of orthologous genes. We used this reference genome to predict 20 genes involved in the rutin biosynthesis pathway. Moreover, our metabolomics data revealed neither colchicine nor its precursors in H.citrina, challenging the long-standing belief that this alkaloid causes poisoning by the plant. The results of our disruptive research are further substantiated by our genomic finding that H.citrina does not contain any genes involved in colchicine biosynthesis. The high-quality genome lays a solid foundation for genetic research and molecular breeding of H.citrina. | Zhixing Qing Jinghong Liu Xinxin Yi Xiubin Liu Guoan Hu Jia Lao Wei He Zihui Yang Xiaoyan Zou Mengshan Sun Peng Huang Jianguo Zeng | 2021 | Horticulture Research2021,8,1: | 6
Solute-homogenization model and its experimental verification in Mg-Gd-based alloys显示文摘Composition homogenization in solid solution is important for industrial alloys. In the present work, a solute homogenization model is proposed based on the chemical short-range-order tendency in Mg-Gdbased alloys. After a calculation using the cluster-plus-glue-atom model, the stable Mg-Gd structural unit is derived, [Gd-Mg12]Mg6, where one solute Gd is nearest-neighbored with twelve Mg atoms to form the characteristic hcp cluster [Gd-Mg12] and this cluster is matched with six Mg glue atoms. Such a local unit is then mixed with [Mg-Mg12]Mg3, the stable unit for pure Mg. Assuming that the Gd-containing units are arranged in fcc-or bcc-like lattice points and the Mg units in their octahedral interstices, three proportions between the two units are obtained, 1:1, 2:3, and 1:3, which constitute three solute homogenization modes. The prevailing Mg-Gd-based alloys are consequently classified into three groups, respectively exemplified by GW103 K(Mg-10 Gd-3 Y-0.4 Zr, wt%), GW83 K(Mg-8 Gd-3 Y-0.4 Zr), and GW63 K(Mg-6 Gd-3 Y-0.4 Zr). Mg-Gd-Y-Zr alloys were designed following the model(where Y and Zr were also added in substitution for Gd) and prepared by permanent-mould casting. According to their mechanical properties, the 1:3 alloy(Mg-5.9 Gd-1.6 Y-0.4 Zr) shows the best comprehensive properties(ultimate tensile strength305 MPa, yield strength 186 MPa, elongation 9.0%) in solution plus ageing state. | Shengnan Qian Chuang Dong Tianyu Liu Ying Qin Qing Wang Yujuan Wu Lidong Gu Jianxin Zou Xiangwen Heng Liming Peng Xiaoqin Zeng | 2018 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2018,34,7: | 6
Review on the Relationship Between Liquid Aerospace Fuel Composition and Their Physicochemical Properties显示文摘The development of advanced air transportation has raised new demands for high-performance liquid hydrocarbon fuels. However, the measurement of fuel properties is time-consuming,cost-intensive,and limited to the operating conditions. The physicochemical properties of aerospace fuels are directly infl uenced by chemical composition. Thus,a thorough investigation should be conducted on the inherent relationship between fuel properties and composition for the design and synthesis of high-grade fuels and the prediction of fuel properties in the future. This work summarized the eff ects of fuel composition and hydrocarbon molecular structure on the fuel physicochemical properties, including density, net heat of combustion(NHOC),low-temperature fl uidity(viscosity and freezing point),fl ash point, and thermal-oxidative stability.Several correlations and predictions of fuel properties from chemical composition were reviewed.Additionally,we correlated the fuel properties with hydrogen/carbon molar ratios(n H/C)and molecular weight(M).The results from the least-square method implicate that the coupling of H/C molar ratio and M is suitable for the estimation of density,NHOC,viscosity and eff ectiveness for the design, manufacture, and evaluation of aviation hydrocarbon fuels. | Xiaoyu Wang Tinghao Jia Lun Pan Qing Liu Yunming Fang Ji-Jun Zou Xiangwen Zhang | 2021 | Transactions of Tianjin University2021,27,2: | 6

An all-round AI-Chemist with a scientific mind显示文摘The realization of automated chemical experiments by robots unveiled the prelude to an artificial intelligence(AI)laboratory.Several AI-based systems or robots with specific chemical skills have been demonstrated, but conducting all-round scientific research remains challenging. Here,we present an all-round AI-Chemist equipped with scientific data intelligence that is capable of performing basic tasks generally required in chemical research.Based on a service platform, the AI-Chemist is able to automatically read the literatures from a cloud database and propose experimental plans accordingly. It can control a mobile robot in-house or online to automatically execute the complete experimental process on 14 workstations, including synthesis, characterization and performance tests. The experimental data can be simultaneously analysed by the computational brain of the AI-Chemist through machine learning and Bayesian optimization, allowing a new hypothesis for the next iteration to be proposed. The competence of the AI-Chemist has been scrutinized by three different chemical tasks. In the future, the more advanced all-round AI-Chemists equipped with scientific data intelligence may cause changes to the landscape of the chemical laboratory. | Qing Zhu Fei Zhang Yan Huang Hengyu Xiao LuYuan Zhao XuChun Zhang Tao Song XinSheng Tang Xiang Li Guo He BaoChen Chong JunYi Zhou YiHan Zhang Baicheng Zhang JiaQi Cao Man Luo Song Wang GuiLin Ye WanJun Zhang Xin Chen Shuang Cong Donglai Zhou Huirong Li Jialei Li Gang Zou WeiWei Shang Jun Jiang Yi Luo | 2022 | National Science Review2022,9,10: | 5
Estimation of correction coefficients for measured coal bed methane contents显示文摘Improving the accuracy and precision of coal bed methane(CBM) estimates requires correction of older data from older coal exploration surveys to newer standards.Three methods, the depth gradient method, the contour aerial weight method, and the well-point aerial weight method, were used to estimate the correction coefficient required to predict CBM gas content from coal exploration data. The data from the Nos.3 and 15 coal seams provided the coal exploration data while the CBM exploration stages within the X1 well block located in the southern part of the Qinshui Basin provided the data obtained using newer standards. The results show the correction coefficients obtained from the two aerial weight methods are similar in value but lower than the one obtained from the depth gradient method. The three methods provide similar results for the Nos.3 and 15 seams in that the correction factor is lower for the former seam. The results from the depth gradient method taken together with the coal seam burial depth and the coal rank suggest that variations in the correction factor increase linearly along with coal seam burial depth and coal rank. The correlation obtained can be applied to exploration and the evaluation of coal bed gas resources located in coalfields. | Lei Bo Fu Xuehai Zhou Baoyan Shen Jia ZOU Mingjun Feng Qing | 2012 | International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2012,22,4: | 5
