| 1 | Application of a screw conveyor with axial tilt blades on a shearer drum and investigation of conveying performance based on DEM显示文摘Screw conveyors are widely employed in industrial fields for conveying bulk materials.The shearer drum which uses the screw conveying principle is responsible for excavation and conveying coal particles onto the chain conveyor.Screw conveyor performance is affected by potential factors,such as the blade axial tilt angle and style,core shaft form and diameter.The effect of blade axial tilt angle on the conveying performance was investigated with the help of DEM.In the case of the screw conveyor,the mass flow rate,and particle axial velocity increased with increasing positive axial tilt angle,and declined with increasing negative axial tilt angle.In the case of the drum,the mass flow rate,particle axial velocity,and loading rate first increased and then decreased with increasing positive axial tilt angle,and decreased with increasing negative axial tilt angle.These results can be considered as a benchmark for screw conveyor and drum structural designs with axial tilt screw blades. | Liqing Sun Xiaodi Zhang Qingliang Zeng Kuidong Gao Kao Jiang Jiawei Zhou | 2022 | Particuology2022,20,2: | 3 |

| 3 | Rotational motions of the Ms7.0 Jiuzhaigou earthquake with ground tilt data显示文摘Observation and research of rotational motions induced by earthquake has been ignored in the past decades due to the lack of understanding of important ground rotational motions and practical difficulty involved in directly measuring the rotational components. Currently, there is a paucity of methods to directly measure rotational motions in China. The present study attempts to discuss the possibility of obtaining seismic rotation from ground tilt data. The rotational motions generated by shear dislocation source are derived based on the displacement formula of elastic wavefields in the homogenous space. The characteristics of the three components of translational and rotational motions in near, intermediate, and far fields are compared and analyzed. Based on the corresponding relationship between the rotation and ground tilt on free surface boundary, a method to indirectly construct the rotational motions in the layered half space is obtained. Finally, the theoretical rotational motions generated by the Ms7.0 earthquake in Jiuzhaigou, Sichuan Province, on August 8, 2017 are calculated. The results indicate that the rotational motions generated by the Jiuzhaigou earthquake are concentrated in the vicinity of the epicenter(approximately150 km) and mainly distributed in the area perpendicular to the fault strike. The existence of free surface boundary attenuates the total energy of the rotational field and especially in the direction of the dominant energy. The ground tilt data is compared with rotational motions in the layered half space, and the results indicate that theoretical rotations and actual ground tilt data are essentially consistent, especially in the far field region. | 13 | Finite element modeling and analysis of planetary gear transmission based on transient meshing properties显示文摘Planetary gear trains are widely applied in various transmission units.Whether strengths of all gears are accurately calculated or not can affect reliability of the entire system significantly.Strength calculation method for planetary gear trains usually follows the method for cylindrical gears,in which the worst meshing positions for both contact stress and bending stress cannot be determined precisely,and calculation results tend to be conservative.To overcome these shortcomings,a kinematics analysis for a planetary gear train is firstly performed,in which the influence of relative speed is investigated.Then the finite element strength analysis of a planetary gear train based on its transient meshing properties is carried out in ANSYS.Time–history curves of contact and bending stresses of sun gear,planetary gears and ring gear are respectively obtained.Also the accurate moment and its corresponding position of the maximum stress are precisely determined.Finally,calculation results of finite element method(FEM)and traditional method are compared in order to verify the effectiveness.Simulation and comparison show the stability of the proposed method in this paper.Researches in this paper establish the foundations for fatigue analysis and optimization for a planetary gear train. | Qingliang Zeng Shoubo Jiang Lirong Wan Xueyi Li | 2015 | International Journal of Modeling, Simulation, and Scientific Computing2015,6,3: | 0 |
