4Epidemiological and clinical characteristics of 65 hospitalized patients with COVID-19 in Liaoning, China显示文摘BACKGROUND Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)has spread rapidly to multiple countries through its infectious agent severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2.The severity,atypical clinical presentation,and lack of specific anti-viral treatments have posed a challenge for the diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19.Understanding the epidemiological and clinical characteristics of COVID-19 cases in different geographical areas is essential to improve the prognosis of COVID-19 patients and slow the spread of the disease.AIM To investigate the epidemiological and clinical characteristics and main therapeutic strategy for confirmed COVID-19 patients hospitalized in Liaoning Province,China.METHODS Adult patients(n=65)with confirmed COVID-19 were enrolled in this retrospective study from January 20 to February 29,2020 in Liaoning Province,China.Pharyngeal swabs and sputum specimens were collected from the patients for the detection of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 nucleic acid.Patient demographic information and clinical data were collected from the medical records.Based on the severity of COVID-19,the patients were divided into nonsevere and severe groups. All patients were followed until March 20,2020.RESULTSThe mean age of 65 COVID-19 patients was 45.5 ± 14.4 years, 56.9% were men,and 24.6% were severe cases. During the 14 d before symptom onset, 25 (38.5%)patients lived or stayed in Wuhan, whereas 8 (12.3%) had no clear history ofexposure. Twenty-nine (44.6%) patients had at least one comorbidity;hypertension and diabetes were the most common comorbidities. Compared withnonsevere patients, severe patients had significantly lower lymphocyte counts[median value 1.3 × 10^(9)/L (interquartile range 0.9-1.95) vs 0.82 × 10^(9)/L (0.44-1.08),P < 0.001], elevated levels of lactate dehydrogenase [450 U/L (386-476) vs 707 U/L(592-980), P < 0.001] and C-reactive protein [6.1 mg/L (1.5-7.2) vs 52 mg/L (12.7-100.8), P < 0.001], and a prolonged median duration of viral shedding [19.5 d (16-21) vs 23.5 d (19.6-30.3), P = 0.001]. The overall median viral shedding time was19.5 d, and the longest was 53 d. Severe patients were more frequently treatedwith lopinavir/ritonavir, antibiotics, glucocorticoid therapy, immunoglobulin,thymosin, and oxygen support. 11Network-meta analysis of 9 kinds of patent Chinese medicine for nourishing qi and activating blood in the treatment of angina pectoris of coronary heart disease显示文摘Objective:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Yiqi Huoxue oral Chinese patent medicine in the treatment of angina pectoris.Methods:the databases of EMBASE,PubMed,CNKI,Wanfang and VIP were searched by computer,and the randomized controlled trial(RCT)of Yiqi Huoxue Chinese patent medicine in the treatment of angina pectoris of coronary heart disease(CHD)was searched until December 2019.By using stata15.1 software,the total clinical effective rate,the improvement rate of ECG,the improvement rate of angina pectoris,the attack frequency and duration of angina pectoris were taken as the outcome indicators for network meta analysis and mapping.Results:51 RCTs were included,including 9 kinds of traditional Chinese medicine.The results of network meta analysis showed that:in terms of clinical total effective rate,the order was Shexiang Baoxin Pill(78.2%)>xueshuanxinming tablet>Dengzhan Shengmai capsule>Shengui Capsule>Tongxinluo capsule>Tongmai Yangxin pill>Yangxin tablet>Shexiang Tongxin drop pill>Naoxintong capsule;the improvement of ECG was Tongmai Yangxin pill(85.2%)>Yangxin tablet>Dengzhan Shengmai capsule>Shexiang Tongxin drop pill>Shexiang Baoxin Pill>Tongxinluo gum Capsule>Shengui Capsule>Naoxintong capsule;in order to reduce the frequency and duration of angina pectoris,they are conventional Naoxintong capsule(88.6%)>Shengui Capsule>Tongmai Yangxin pill>Shexiang Baoxin Pill>xueshuanxinmingpian>Tongxinluo capsule>Shexiang Tongxin drop pill>Dengzhan Shengmai capsule;Shexiang Baoxin Pill(66.9%)>Dengzhan Shengmai capsule>Shexiang Tongxin drop pill>Tongxinluo capsule>xueshuanxinmingning capsule Tablet>Tongmai Yangxin pill.Conclusion:Traditional Chinese medicine combined with western medicine has obvious advantages in the treatment of angina pectoris.Shexiang Baoxin Pill,Dengzhan Shengmai capsule and Tongmai Yangxin pill can be given priority.Zhuo-Xi Wang Ji-Fang Ban Rou-Le Li Tie-Feng Wang Rui Ke 2021Journal of Hainan Medical University2021,27,11:1
12Clinical,Pathological,and Genetic Features of Two Chinese Cases with Filamin C Myopathy显示文摘To the Editor:Filamin C (FLNC)myopathy is an autosomal dominant inherited myopathy caused by mutations in FLNC.FLNC belongs to the filamin superfamily and cross-links actin filaments to form a network,anchoring membrane protein to the cytoskeleton. 17High-throughput transcriptomic profiling of mRNAs and lncRNAs in the dermatomyositis muscle by RNA sequencing显示文摘Background:Dermatomyositis(DM)is an idiopathic inflammatory myopathy(IIM).In this study,we investigated the mRNAs and long noncoding RNAs(lncRNAs)in muscle biopsy specimens that are differentially expressed among patients with DM,patients with other IIM,and healthy controls(HCs).Methods:In total,three patients with DM,10 patients with other IIM,and three HCs were included.Muscle biopsy specimens were collected for RNA-sequencing.Gene ontology and pathway analyses were employed to characterize the biological processes and signaling pathways.Results:Compared with HCs,372 differentially expressed mRNAs were identified within the DM group,including 275 upregulated and 97 downregulated ones.Moreover,692 differentially expressed lncRNAs were identified in the DM group compared with HCs,of which 407 were upregulated and 285 were downregulated.Bioinformatic analysis indicated that the type-Ⅰ interferon signaling pathway and biological processes of innate immunity were significantly influenced by the differentially expressed mRNAs.Notably,11 of the top 20 upregulated mRNAs were involved in the type-Ⅰ interferon signaling pathway.Reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction analysis verified the RNA-sequencing data.Target gene prediction analysis suggested that the lncRNA NONHSAG043573.2 potentially targeting transporter associated with antigen processing 1,a key regulator of interferon signaling genes,might play an important role in the pathogenesis of DM.Conclusions:Our study assessed the transcriptomic profiles of differentially expressed mRNAs and lncRNAs in the DM muscle tissue and revealed that the upregulated mRNAs are significantly involved in the innate immune response and the type-Ⅰ interferon signaling pathway,which might play important roles in the pathogenesis of DM.Ke Li Yubao Ma Shanchun Zhang Rui Ban Qiang Shi 2023Rheumatology & Autoimmunity2023,3,3:0
