1Fields of applications,diagnostic yields and findings of OMOM capsule endoscopy in 2400 Chinese patients显示文摘AIM:To retrospectively analyze the fields of application,diagnostic yields and findings of OMOM capsule endoscopy in Chinese patients.METHODS:A database including 2400 Chinese patients who received OMOM capsule endoscopy in 27 endoscopy centers in China was retrieved from the Jianshan Science and Technology Ltd.OMOM capsule endoscopy database.The patient's age,gender,fields of application,the potentially relevant findings,pyloric transit time(PTT),small bowel transit time(SBTT),and complete small-bowel examination rate(CSER) were recorded and analyzed.RESULTS:Two thousand four hundred patients aged 9-91 years(mean,49 years),of whom 1510 were males(62.9%),underwent 2400 OMOM capsule endoscopy procedures.One thousand two hundred and thirty two(51.3%) were referred with obscure gastrointestinal bleeding(OGIB),642(26.8%) with abdominal pain,and 223(9.3%) with chronic diarrhea.The overall diagnostic yield was 47.7%(1144/2400).The diagnostic yield of OMOM capsule endoscopy in OGIB subgroup was much higher than in the non-OGIB subgroup(62.4% vs 32.1%,P<0.001).The most common findings of the small bowel in Chinese patients with OGIB were arteriovenous malformation(28.1%) and tumors(18.9%).There was no significant difference in the diagnostic yield between the male and female patients with OGIB.However,the diagnostic yield in patients aged more than 60 was higher than in patients aged less than 60(69.8% vs 58.9%,P<0.001).The median PTT was 41 min(range:1-544 min) and the mean SBTT was 247.2 ± 88.9 min.The overall CSER was 86.8%.CONCLUSION:The OMOM capsule endoscopy is a valuable tool for small bowel evaluation with good overall diagnostic yield and CSER.Liao, Zhuan Gao, Rui Li, Feng Xu, Can Zhou, Yi Wang, Jin-Shan Li, Zhao-Shen 2010World Journal of Gastroenterology2010,16,21:35
2The altered expression of inflammation-related microRNAs with microRNA-155 expression correlates with Th17 differentiation in patients with acute coronary syndrome显示文摘MicroRNAs(miRNAs)are a novel class of small,non-coding RNAs that play a significant role in both inflammatory and cardiovascular diseases.Immune cells,especially T helper(Th)cells,are critical in the development of atherosclerosis and the onset of acute coronary syndrome(ACS).To assess whether inflammation-related miRNAs(such as miR-155,146a,21,125a-5p,125b,31)are involved in the imbalance of Th cell subsets in patients with ACS,we measured the expression of related miRNAs in patients with acute myocardial infarction(AMI),unstable angina(UA),stable angina(SA)and chest pain syndrome(CPS);analyzed the relationship between miRNA expression and the frequency of Th cell subsets;and observed the co-expression of miR-155 and IL-17A in peripheral blood mononuclear cells(PBMCs)of patients with ACS.The results showed that the expression of miR-155 in the PBMCs of patients with ACS was decreased by approximately 60%,while the expression of both miR-21 and miR-146a was increased by approximately twofold.The expression patterns of miRNAs in plasma correlated with those in PBMCs,except for miR-21,which was increased by approximately sixfold in the AMI group and showed no significant difference between the UA group and the CPS group.We also found that the expression of miR-155 inversely correlated with the frequency of Th17 cells(r520.896,P,0.01)and that miR-155 was co-expressed with IL-17A in patients with ACS.In conclusion,our study revealed the expression patterns of inflammation-related miRNAs in patients with ACS and found that miR-155 may be associated with Th17 cell differentiation.Rui Yao Yulan Ma Youyou Du Mengyang Liao Huanhuan Li Wei Liang Jing Yuan Zhijun Ma Xian Yu Hong Xiao Yuhua Liao 2011Cellular & Molecular Immunology2011,8,6:32
3Augmented reality technology for preoperative planning and intraoperative navigation during hepatobiliary surgery: A review of current methods显示文摘Background: Augmented reality(AR) technology is used to reconstruct three-dimensional(3D) images of hepatic and biliary structures from computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging data, and to superimpose the virtual images onto a view of the surgical field. In liver surgery, these superimposed virtual images help the surgeon to visualize intrahepatic structures and therefore, to operate precisely and to improve clinical outcomes.Data Sources: The keywords 'augmented reality', 'liver', 'laparoscopic' and 'hepatectomy' were used for searching publications in the Pub Med database. The primary source of literatures was from peer-reviewed journals up to December 2016. Additional articles were identified by manual search of references found in the key articles.Results: In general, AR technology mainly includes 3D reconstruction, display, registration as well as tracking techniques and has recently been adopted gradually for liver surgeries including laparoscopy and laparotomy with video-based AR assisted laparoscopic resection as the main technical application. By applying AR technology, blood vessels and tumor structures in the liver can be displayed during surgery,which permits precise navigation during complex surgical procedures. Liver transformation and registration errors during surgery were the main factors that limit the application of AR technology.Conclusions: With recent advances, AR technologies have the potential to improve hepatobiliary surgical procedures. However, additional clinical studies will be required to evaluate AR as a tool for reducing postoperative morbidity and mortality and for the improvement of long-term clinical outcomes. 4Role of gut microbiota via the gut-liver-brain axis in digestive diseases显示文摘The gut-brain axis is a bidirectional information interaction system between the central nervous system(CNS) and the gastrointestinal tract, in which gut microbiota plays a key role. The gut microbiota forms a complex network with the enteric nervous system, the autonomic nervous system, and the neuroendocrine and neuroimmunity of the CNS, which is called the microbiota-gut-brain axis. Due to the close anatomical and functional interaction of the gut-liver axis, the microbiota-gut-liver-brain axis has attracted increased attention in recent years. The microbiota-gut-liver-brain axis mediates the occurrence and development of many diseases, and it offers a direction for the research of disease treatment. 5Management of granulomatous lobular mastitis: an international multidisciplinary consensus(2021 edition)显示文摘Granulomatous lobular mastitis(GLM) is a rare and chronic benign inflammatory disease of the breast. Difficulties exist in the management of GLM for many front-line surgeons and medical specialists who care for patients with inflammatory disorders of the breast. This consensus is summarized to establish evidence-based recommendations for the management of GLM. Literature was reviewed using PubMed from January 1, 1971 to July 31, 2020. Sixty-six international experienced multidisciplinary experts from 11 countries or regions were invited to review the evidence.Levels of evidence were determined using the American College of Physicians grading system, and recommendations were discussed until consensus. Experts discussed and concluded 30 recommendations on historical definitions,etiology and predisposing factors, diagnosis criteria, treatment, clinical stages, relapse and recurrence of GLM. GLM was recommended as a widely accepted definition. In addition, this consensus introduced a new clinical stages and management algorithm for GLM to provide individual treatment strategies. In conclusion, diagnosis of GLM depends on a combination of history, clinical manifestations, imaging examinations, laboratory examinations and pathology.The approach to treatment of GLM should be applied according to the different clinical stage of GLM. 6Fuzzy Hybrid Control of Vibration Attitude of Full Car via Magneto-rheological Suspensions显示文摘A magneto-rheological(MR) semi-active suspension system with the controllable damping forces has received more attention in reducing the vibration of a vehicle. However, many control strategies only discussed one or two vibration states of the vehicle based on a quarter-car model or a half vehicle model via MR suspensions. They cannot provide a satisfying whole-vehicle performance on a road test. Hence, a full car vibration model via an MR suspension system is proposed. To reduce the heave, pitch and roll motion of the vehicle body and the vertical vibration of four wheels, a fuzzy hybrid controller for vibration attitude of full car via MR suspensions is proposed. First, a skyhook-fuzzy control scheme is designed to reduce the heave, roll and pitch motion of the vehicle body. Second, a revised ground hook control strategy is adopted to decrease the vertical vibration of the wheels. Finally, a hybrid control scheme based on a fuzzy reasoning method is proposed to tune the hybrid damping parameter, which is suitable for coordination the attitude of the vehicle body and the wheels. A test and control system for the vibration attitude of full car is set up. It is implemented on a car equipped with four MR suspensions. The results on random highway and rough road indicate that the fuzzy hybrid controller can decrease the vibration accelerations of the vehicle body and the wheels to 65%–80% and 80%–90%, respectively. It reduces the automotive vibrations of heave, roll and pitch more effectively than a passive suspension and an MR suspension with a traditional hybrid control scheme so that it achieves better ride comfort and road holding concurrently. 8Controlled synthesis of single cobalt atom catalysts via a facile one-pot pyrolysis for efficient oxygen reduction and hydrogen evolution reactions显示文摘Metal-nitrogen doped carbon catalysts(M-N/C) with abundantly accessible M-Nxsites, particularly single metal atom M-N/C(SAM-N/C), have been developed as a substitute for expensive Pt-based catalysts.These catalysts are used to increase the efficiency of otherwise sluggish oxygen reduction reactions(ORR) and hydrogen evolution reactions(HER). However, although the agglomerated metal nanoparticles are usually easy to form, they are very difficult to remove due to the protective surface-coating carbon layers, a factor that significantly hampers SAM-N/C fabrication. Herein, we report a one-step pyrolysis approach to successfully fabricate single cobalt atom Co-N/C(SACo-N/C) by using a Co2+-SCN-coordination compound as the metal precursor. Thanks to the decomposition of Co2+-SCN-compound at lower temperature than that of carbon layer deposition, Co-rich particles grow up to larger ones before carbon layers formation. Even though encapsulated by the carbon layers, it is difficult for the large Co-rich particle to be completely sealed. And thus, it makes the Co atoms possible to escape from incomplete carbon layer, to coordinate with nitrogen atoms, and to form SACo-N/C catalysts. This SACo-N/C exhibits excellent performances for both ORR(half-wave potential of 0.878 V) and HER(overpotential at 10 mA/cm2 of178 m V), and is thus a potential replacement for Pt-based catalysts. When SACo-N/C is integrated into a Zn-O2 battery, battery with high open-circuit voltage(1.536 V) has high peak power density(266 mW/cm2)and large gravimetric energy density(755 mA h/gZn) at current densities of 100 mA/cm2. 9Association Between Homocysteine Level and Methylenetetrahydrofolate Reductase Gene Polymorphisms in Type 2 Diabetes Accompanied by Dyslipidemia显示文摘Objective To investigate the association between total homocysteine(tHcy)level in plasma and methylenetetrahydrofblate reductase(MTHFR)C677T and A1298C genetic polymorphisms in a Chinese Han nationality population with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)accompanied by dyslipidemia.Methods This case-control study enrolled T2DM patients with dyslipidemia and without dyslipidemia respectively.Sanger dideoxy-mediated chain-termination method was used to detect the gene polymorphisms of MTHFR C677T and A1298C.Plasma tHcy and lipid levels were measured as well.The genotype frequency and allele frequency between the dyslipidemia and non-dyslipidemia groups were compared by using Chi-square test.Plasma tHcy level ofT2DM patients who carried the different genotypes was compared by Student's t test.Results Finally,82 T2DM patients with dyslipidemia and 94 ones without dyslipidemia were included in this study.There was a significant correlation between tHcy level and MTHFR C677T gene polymorphism inT2DM patients(t=2.27,P=0.02).Moreover,the plasma tHcy level in the dyslipidemia patients who carried MTHFR 677TT genotype was significantly higher than that in those with CT+CC genotype(13.62+6.97 vs.10.95+3.62pmol/L,t=2.2O,P=0.03);while for patients without dyslipidemia,comparison of the tHcy level between those who carried the above two alleles showed no significantly difference(13.34±6.03 vs.12.04±5.09μmol/L,t=1.08,P=0.29).Conclusion MTHFR 677TT genotype might associate with higher tHcy level in T2DM patients with dyslipidemia.Ying Yin Rui Li Xiaoli Li Kunrong Wu Ling Li Yuedong Xu Lin Liao Rui Yang Yan Li 2020Chinese Medical Sciences Journal2020,35,1:10

12Honokiol:a promising small molecular weight natural agent for the growth inhibition of oral squamous cell carcinoma cells显示文摘Honokiol (HNK) is a small organic molecule purified from magnolia species and has demonstrated anticancer activities in a variety of cancer cell lines; however, its effect on oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) cells is unknown. We investigated the antitumor activities of HNK on OSCC cells in vitro for the first time. The inhibitory effects of HNK on the growth and proliferation of OSCC cells were demonstrated via in vitro 3-(4,5-dimethyl thiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) and propidium iodide (PI) assays, and the apoptotic cells were investigated by the observation of morphological changes and detection of DNA fragmentation via PI, TdT-mediated dUTP-biotin nick end labeling (TUNEL), and DNA ladder assays, as well as flow cytometry assay. The results showed that HNK inhibited the growth and proliferation of OSCC cells in vitro in a time and dose-dependent manner. The inhibitory effect was associated with the cell apoptosis induced by HNK, evidenced by the morphological features of apoptotic cells, TUNEL-positive cells and a degradation of chromosomal DNA into small internucleosomal fragments. The study also demonstrated here that the inhibition or apoptosis mediated by 15 μg·mL-1 or 20 μg·mL-1 of HNK were more stronger compared with those of 20 μg·mL-1 5-fluorouracil (5-Fu, the control) applied to OSCC cells, when the ratio of OSCC cell numbers were measured between the treatment of different concentrations of HNK to the 5-Fu treatment for 48 h. 13Morphologies of Al_4Sr Intermetallic Phase and Its Modification Property upon A356 Alloys显示文摘In general,the modification performance of Al-Sr master alloys is primarily dependent upon the morphologies and sizes of the Al_4Sr intermetallic phase.In this paper,the crystal structure,morphologies,sizes,hardness and elastic modulus of Al_4Sr in Al-Sr master alloys prepared from variant processes were studied by means of optical metallurgical microscope,X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),and nanoindentation system.The results revealed that the microstructures and modification performance of the Al_4Sr phase were related to the preparation processes.That is to say,when a 'direct reaction-hot extrusion' process was used,the Al_4Sr phase exhibited a homogeneous distribution in the Al matrix with small size and roundish shapes,which ensured the Al-Sr master alloy wire advantages involving high recovery,good reproducibility,no delitescence of modification,no corrosion on equipments,and good workability.However,in the case of the traditional 'direct reaction' process,the Al4Sr phase was in large size with shapes of rectangular stripe and plates,which limited the Sr content increasing due to the brittleness of the Al-Sr alloy.It was also found that the morphology and size of the Al_4Sr phases changed during heat treatment at high temperature up to 600 ℃.Chengwei Liao Jianchun Chun Yang Li Rui Tu Chunxu Pan 2012Journal of Materials Science & Technology2012,28,6:7

15How many species of Apodemus and Rattus occur in China? A survey based on mitochondrial cyt b and morphological analyses显示文摘Apodemus(mice) and Rattus(rats) are the top rodent reservoirs for zoonoses in China, yet little is known about their diversity. We reexamined the alpha diversity of these two genera based on a new collection of specimens from China and their cyt b sequences in Gen Bank. We also tested whether species could be identified using external and craniodental measurements exclusively. Measurements from 147 specimens of Apodemus and 233 specimens of Rattus were used for morphological comparisons. We analysed 74 cyt b sequences of Apodemus and 100 cyt b sequences of Rattus to facilitate phylogenetic estimations. Results demonstrated that nine species of Apodemus and seven species of Rattus, plus a new subspecies of Rattus nitidus, are distributed in China. Principal component analysis using external and craniodental measurements revealed that measurements alone could not separate the recognized species. 16Outcomes of simple saline-coupled bipolar electrocautery for hepatic resection显示文摘AIM:To evaluate the application of bipolar coagulation(BIP)in hepatectomy by comparing the efficacy of BIP alone,cavitron ultrasonic surgical aspirator(CUSA)+BIP and conventional clamp crushing(CLAMP).METHODS:Based on our database of patient records,a total of 380 consecutive patients who underwent hepatectomy at our hospital were retrospectively studied for the efficacy of BIP alone,CUSA+BIP and CLAMP.Of all the patients,75 received saline-coupled BIP(Group A),53 received CUSA+BIP(Group B),and252 received CLAMP(Group C).The pre-,mid-,and postoperative clinical manifestations were compared,and the effects of those maneuvers were evaluated.RESULTS:There was no obvious difference among the preoperative indexes between the different groups.The operative time was longer in Groups A and B than in Group C(P<0.001 for both).The amount of bleeding and the rate of transfusion during the operation were significantly higher in Group C than in Groups A and B(P<0.001 for all).The incidence of postoperative complications in Group C(46.43%)was higher than that in Groups A(30.67%,P=0.015)and B(28.30%,P=0.016).The patients’liver function recovery and postoperative hospital stay were not significantly different.BIP could decrease intraoperative hemorrhage and postoperative complications compared to CLAMP.CONCLUSION:Simple saline-coupled BIP should be considered a safe and reliable technique for liver resection to decrease intraoperative hemorrhage and postoperative complications.Jian-Yang Guo De-Wei Li Rui Liao Ping Huang Xian-Bing Kong Ji-Ming Wang Hong-Lin Wang Shi-Qiao Luo Xiong Yan Cheng-You Du 2014World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,26:7

18Modulation of expression of P16 and Her2 in rat breast tissues of mammary hyperplasia model by external use of Rupifang Extract显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To observe the effect of Rupifang Extract in external use on expression of proto-oncogenes her2 and tumor suppression genes p16 in rat breast tissues of mammary hyperplasia model.To explore the mechanisms of Rupifang Extract in external use for preventing and treating mammary hyperplasia.METHODS:Thirty virginal female Wistar rats were randomized into 5 groups,6 in each,A:blank control group;B:model group;C:the low dose group of Rupifang;D:the middle dose group of Rupifang;and E:The high dose group of Rupifang.The mammary hyperplasia rat models were produced by injecting estradiol benzoate and progesterone and irritating by tail nipping.Drug intervention was also launched during the model formation.After 30 days,the expression of her2 and p16 in breast tissues of rats in each group were detected by the SP immunohistochemical method.RESULTS:Compared with Blank control group,the expression of her2 in breast tissues in Model group was higher,and the expression of p16 was lower(P<0.05 or P<0.01).After intervention with Rupifang Extract,compared with Model group,the expression of her2 in breast tissues in Rupifang groups was lower,and the expression of p16 higher(P<0.05 or P<0.01).CONCLUSION:The mechanisms of Rupifang Extract in external application for preventing and treating mammary hyperplasia may be reducing the expression of proto-oncogenes her2 and increasing the expression of tumor suppression genes p16.Guijuan Zhang Dehui Li Hui Guo Rui Liao Bizhu Tan Suyi Zhang Yubin Liu Min Ma Xiaoting Zeng Zhuolong Peng Si Huang Yinghui Zheng Yi Ma 2012Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2012,32,4:6
19Molecular dynamics simulation of injection of polyethylene fluid in a variable cross-section nano-channel显示文摘Numerical simulation of injection of polyethylene fluid in a variable cross-section nano-channel was carried out using the molecular dynamics method.The effects of the nano-channel cross-section and the external force on the rheological behavior and structural properties of the polyethylene fluid were investigated.It was found that an absorbed layer appeared near the wall and the thickness of the absorbed layer increased with increasing cone angle of the nano-channel.The injection distance of the polyethylene fluid decreased with increasing cone angle and decreasing external force.In the nano-channel with cone angle 45°,polyethylene particles uniformly filled the whole channel and were stretched along the flow direction.Uniaxial stretching of particles was enhanced when the external force was strengthened,which facilitates injection of the polyethylene fluid into the nano-channel.FENG Jie LIAO Qiang ZHU Xun WU Rui WANG Hong DING YuDong YASHIRO Kisaragi 2011Chinese Science Bulletin2011,56,17:5
