1First observation of mesospheric and thermospheric winds by a Fabry-Perot interferometer in China显示文摘A Fabry-Perot interferometer,funded by the Meridian Project in China,was deployed at the Xinglong station(40.2°N,117.4°E) of the National Astronomical Observatories in Hebei Province,China.The instrument has been operating since April 2010,measuring mesospheric and thermospheric winds.The first observational data of winds at three heights in the mesosphere and thermosphere were analyzed,demonstrating the capacity of this instrument to aid basic scientific research.The wavelengths of three airglow emissions were OH892.0,OI 557.7,and OI 630.0 nm,which corresponded to heights of 87,98,and 250 km,respectively.Three 38-day data sets of horizontal winds,from April 5,2010 to May 12,2010,show clear day-to-day variations at the same height.The minimum and maximum meridional winds at heights of 87,98,and 250 km were-16.5 to 8.7 m/s,-24.4 to 15.9 m/s,and-43.6 to 1.5 m/s.Measurements of zonal winds were-5.4 to 7.6 m/s,2.3 to 23.0 m/s,and-22.6 to 49.3 m/s.The average data from the observations was consistent with the data from HWM93.The wind data at heights of 87 and 98 km suggest a semi-diurnal oscillation,clearly consistent with HWM93 results.Conversely there was a clear discrepancy between the observations and the model at 250 km.In general,this Fabry-Perot interferometer is a useful ground-based instrument for measuring mesospheric and thermospheric winds at middle latitudes.YUAN Wei XU JiYao MA RuiPing WU Qian JIANG GuoYing GAO Hong LIU Xiao CHEN SunZheng 2010Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,35:18

3Biomass-derived nitrogen-doped hierarchical porous carbon as efficient sulfur host for lithium–sulfur batteries显示文摘Lithium-sulfur(Li-S) battery is a potential energy storage technology with high energy density and low cost. However, the gap between theoretical expectation and practical performance limits its wide implementation. Herein, we report a nitrogen-doped porous carbon derived from biomass pomelo peel as sulfur host material for Li-S batteries. The hierarchical porous architecture and the polar surface introduced by N-doping render a favorable combination of physical and chemical sulfur confinements as well as an expedite electron/ion transfer, thus contributing to a facilitated and stabilized sulfur electrochemistry. As a result, the corresponding sulfur composite electrodes exhibit an ultrahigh initial capacity of 1534.6 mAh g^-1, high coulombic efficiency over 98% upon 300 cycles, and decent rate capability up to 2 C. 4Practical performance and its efficiency of arsenic removal from groundwater using Fe-Mn binary oxide显示文摘A treatment unit packed by granular adsorbent of Fe-Mn binary oxide incorporated into diatomite (FMBO(1:1)-diatomite) was studied to remove arsenic from anaerobic groundwater without any pre-treatment or post-treatment. The raw anaerobic groundwater containing 35-45 μg/L of arsenic was collected from suburb of Beijing. Arsenic(III) constituted roughly 60%-80% of the total arsenic content. Approximately 7,000 bed volumes (ratio of efluent volume to adsorbent volume) treated water with arsenic concentration below 10 μg/L were produced in the operation period of four months. The regeneration of FMBO(1:1)-diatomite had been operated for 15 times. In the first stage, the regeneration process significantly improved the adsorption capacity of FMBO(1:1)-diatomite. With increased loading amount of Fe-Mn binary oxide, the adsorption capacity for arsenic decreased 20%-40%. Iron and manganese in anaerobic groundwater were oxidized and adsorptive filtrated by FMBO(1:1)-diatomite efficiently. The final concentrations of iron and manganese in efluents were nearly zero. 5Development of systems for detection,early warning,and control of pipeline leakage in drinking water distribution:A case study显示文摘Water leakage in drinking water distribution systems is a serious problem for many cities and a huge challenge for water utilities.An integrated system for the detection,early warning,and control of pipeline leakage has been developed and successfully used to manage the pipeline networks in selected areas of Beijing.A method based on the geographic information system has been proposed to quickly and automatically optimize the layout of the instruments which detect leaks.Methods are also proposed to estimate the probability of each pipe segment leaking (on the basis of historic leakage data),and to assist in locating the leakage points (based on leakage signals).The district metering area (DMA) strategy is used.Guidelines and a flowchart for establishing a DMA to manage the large-scale looped networks in Beijing are proposed.These different functions have been implemented into a central software system to simplify the day-to-day use of the system.In 2007 the system detected 102 non-obvious leakages (i.e.,14.2% of the total detected in Beijing) in the selected areas,which was estimated to save a total volume of 2,385,000 m 3 of water.These results indicate the feasibility,efficiency and wider applicability of this system.Weifeng Li Wencui Ling Suoxiang Liu Jing Zhao Ruiping Liu Qiuwen Chen Zhimin Qiang Jiuhui Qu 2011Journal of Environmental Sciences2011,23,11:6
6Effect of Different Calcium Levels on Growth,Yield and Fruit Quality of Tomatoes in Substrate Culture显示文摘Tomato seedlings were grown in substrate culture with pots. The formulation of Holland Greenhouse Horticulture Research Institute was used(as CK) and the effects of different Ca concentrations(LCa, CK and HCa)on growth, yield, and fruit quality(protein, Vitamin C, nitrates, organic acid and soluble sugar) of tomato were studied keeping concentrations of other nutrients unchanged in the nutrient solution. The results showed that parameters related to the growth of tomato(plant height and Stem diameter), changes of tomato yield per plant and quality of tomato fruits were the highest when the plants were grown at 20% Ca treatments. In the second study, increased EC concentrations of nutrient solution resulted in stronger plants with improved yields and quality. Four different concentration gradients of nutrient solution treatment were designed based on the results of the first research stage(EC=1.5, 2.5, 3.5, 4.5 m S/cm, respectively). The single tomato plant had the highest production which is 2 268.994 g/plant, when the nutrient solution strength was at EC=1.5 m S cm, whereas they have the best fruit quality when the solution strength at EC 4.5 m S/cm. 7Preferential binding between intracellular organic matters and Al_(13) polymer to enhance coagulation performance显示文摘Coagulation is the best available method for removing intracellular organic matter(IOM),which is released from algae cells and is an important precursor to disinfection by-products in drinking water treatment. To gain insight into the best strategy to optimize IOM removal, the coagulation performance of two Al salts, i.e., aluminum chloride(AlCl_3) and polyaluminum chloride(PACl, containing 81.2% Al_(13)), was investigated to illuminate the effect of Al species distribution on IOM removal. PACl showed better removal efficiency than AlCl_3 with regard to the removal of turbidity and dissolved organic carbon(DOC), owing to the higher charge neutralization effect and greater stability of pre-formed Al_(13) species. High pressure size exclusion chromatography analysis indicated that the superiority of PACl in DOC removal could be ascribed to the higher binding affinity between Al_(13) polymer and the low and medium molecular weight(MW) fractions of IOM. The results of differential log-transformed absorbance at 254 and 350 nm indicated more significant formation of complexes between AlCl_3 and IOM, which benefits the removal of tryptophan-like proteins thereafter. 8A novel design of 3D carbon host for stable lithium metal anode显示文摘Rational design of porous conductive hosts with high electrical conductivity,large surface area,and adequate interior space is desirable to suppressing dendritic lithium growth and accommodating large volume change of lithium metal anode during the Li plating/stripping process.However,due to the conductive nature of the conductive hosts,Li is easily deposited directly on the top of the hosts,which hinders it from fully functioning.To circumvent the issue,in this study,we designed a novel porous carbon host with a gradient-pore-size structure based on one-dimensional(1D)carbon with different diameters.With this kind of host,stable cycling with high and stable Coulombic efficiency of~98%is achieved at 0.5 mA cm^(−2) with an areal capacity of 1 mAh cm^(−2) over 320 cycles.In contrast,the normal three-dimensional(3D)carbon nanotube host presents a moss-like Li morphology with wildly fluctuating Coulombic efficiency after 100 cycles.The results reveal that the unique gradient-pore-size structure of the 3D conductive host greatly improves the performance of lithium metal batteries.Hang Liu Jie Di Ping Wang Rui Gao Han Tian Pengfei Ren Qingxi Yuan Wanxia Huang Ruiping Liu Qiang Liu Ming Feng 2022Carbon Energy2022,4,4:5
9Reinforced polysulfide barrier by g-C_(3)N_(4)/CNT composite towards superior lithium-sulfur batteries显示文摘The notorious shuttle effect has long been obstructing lithium-sulfur(Li-S) batteries from yielding the expected high energy density and long lifespan.Herein,we develop a multifunctional polysulfide barrier reinforced by the graphitic carbon nitride/carbon nanotube(g-C_3 N_4/CNT) composite toward inhibited shuttling behavior and improved battery performance.The obtained g-C_3 N_4 delivers a unique spongelike architecture with massive ion transfer pathways and fully exposed active interfaces,while the abundant C-N heteroatomic structures impose strong chemical immobilization toward lithium polysulfides.Combined with the highly conductive agent,the g-C_3 N_4/CNT reinforced separator is endowed with great capability of confining and reutilizing the active sulfur within the cathode,thus contributing to an efficient and stable sulfur electrochemistry.Benefiting from these synergistic attributes,Li-S cells based on g-C_3 N_4/CNT separator exhibit an excellent cyclability with a minimum decay rate of 0.03% per cycle over 500 cycles and decent rate capability up to 2 C.Moreover,a high areal capacity of 7.69 mAh cm^(-2)can be achieved under a raised sulfur loading up to 10.1 mg cm^(-2).demonstrating a facile and efficient pathway toward superior Li-S batteries.Xiangliang Wang Gaoran Li Minjie Li Ruiping Liu Haibo Li Tengyu Li Mingzhu Sun Yirui Deng Ming Feng Zhongwei Chen 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,2:4
10Sn02 nanoparticles anchored on graphene oxide as advanced anode materials for high-performance lithium-ion batteries显示文摘Lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) with high energy density have attracted great attention for their wide applications in electric vehicles, and the exploration of the nextgeneration anode materials with high theoretical capacity is highly desired. In this work, Sn02 nanoparticles with the particle size of 200 nm uniformly anchored on the surface of graphene oxide (GO) was prepared by combination of the ultrasonic method and the following calcination process. The Sn02/GO composite with the weight ratio of Sn02 to GO at 4:1 exhibits excellent electrochemical performance, which originates from the synergistic effects between GO and Sn02 nanoparticles. A high discharge capacity of 492 mA·h·g^-1 can be obtained after 100 cycles at 0.2C, and after cycling at higher current densities of 1C and 2C, a discharge capacity of 641 mA·h·g^-1 can be restored when the current density goes back to 0.1C. 11In vivo tracking of neuronal-like cells by magnetic resonance in rabbit models of spinal cord injury显示文摘In vitro experiments have demonstrated that neuronal-like cells derived from bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells can survive,migrate,integrate and help to restore the function and behaviors of spinal cord injury models,and that they may serve as a suitable approach to treating spinal cord injury.However,it is very difficult to track transplanted cells in vivo.In this study,we injected superparamagnetic iron oxide-labeled neuronal-like cells into the subarachnoid space in a rabbit model of spinal cord injury.At 7 days after cell transplantation,a small number of dot-shaped low signal intensity shadows were observed in the spinal cord injury region,and at 14 days,the number of these shadows increased on T2-weighted imaging.Perl’s Prussian blue staining detected dot-shaped low signal intensity shadows in the spinal cord injury region,indicative of superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticle-labeled cells.These findings suggest that transplanted neuronal-like cells derived from bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells can migrate to the spinal cord injury region and can be tracked by magnetic resonance in vivo.Magnetic resonance imaging represents an efficient noninvasive technique for visually tracking transplanted cells in vivo.Ruiping Zhang Kun Zhang Jianding Li Qiang Liu Jun Xie 2013Neural Regeneration Research2013,8,36:4
12Effects on Growth Performance and Feed Digestibility of Hainan Black Pigs by Adding Lysine in Low Protein Diet显示文摘[Objective] The paper was to study the effects on growth performance and feed digestibility of Hainan black pigs by adding lysine in low protein diet.[Method] A total of 36 Hainan black pigs with the body weight of(46.34 ±3.06) kg were randomly divided into three groups:control group(protein level 15%,lysine level 0.83%),experimental group I(protein level 13%,0.83%),and experimental group II(protein level 13%,lysine level 1.03),each group had three replicates of four pigs.The trial lasted 35 d.[Result] The growth performance of Hainan black pig in group II had no significant difference with that in control group(P>0.05).The apparent digestibility of crude protein and phosphorus of Hainan black pigs in Group II increased significantly(P<0.05),which were increased by 10.08% and 11.85% respectively compared to the control group;the apparent digestibility of calcium was increased,but the difference was not significant(P>0.05).[Conclusion] It will not reduce the growth performance of Hainan black pig when the protein level of diet is reduced by 2% and the lysine level is increased to 1.03%.It is recommended that the diet can be used in the production of Hainan black pig.Wei Limin Liu Quanwei Sun Ruiping Zheng Xinli Wang Feng Tan Shuyi Huang Lili Xing Manping 2018Animal Husbandry and Feed Science2018,10,2:4
13Effect of Pelleted Total Mixed Ration on Production Performance and Serum Biochemical Index of Growing Hainan Black Goats显示文摘[Objective] The paper was to investigate effects of pelleted total mixed ration on production performance and serum biochemical index of growing Hainan black goats.[Method] Twenty-four growing Hainan black goats with the same genetic backgrounds and similar initial weight of(10.05±0.049) kg were randomly assigned into two treatments, and supplied with Juncao + concentrate(control group), pelleted total mixed ration(experimental group), respectively. The trial lasted 50 d.[Result] The final weight, daily gain and feed intake of experimental group were significantly higher than those of control group(P<0.05), but the feed/gain ratio of experimental group was markedly lower than that of control group(P<0.05). The chemicals, microorganisms, and nano-materials in drinking water exhibit the basic characteristics of low-dosage, complexity, and hard-to-control, and promote potential health risks during the treatment, distribution, and storing of drinking water. The establishment of point-of-use (POU) systems is required for the control of health risks in drinking water according to these practical requirements. This study proposed the philosophy of point-of-use (POU) systems which aimed to control the health risks in drinking water, and introduced several key unit processes. 16Microstructural evolution and defect formation in a powder metallurgy nickel-based superalloy processed by selective laser melting显示文摘In this study,the selective laser melting(SLM)technology has been employed to manufacture a nickelbased superalloy which was conventionally prepared through powder metallurgy(PM)route.The microstructural features and defects were systematically investigated both prior to and after heat treatment and compared with the PM counterpart.Both solidification cracking and liquation cracking were observed in the SLM specimen in which the grain misorientation and low melting point(γ+γ')eutectic played a vital role in their formation mechanism.Columnar grains oriented along building direction were ubiquitous,corresponding to strong<001>fiber texture.Solidification cell structures and melt pools are pervasive and noγ'precipitates were detected at about 10 nm scale before heat treatment.After supersolvus solution and two-step aging treatments,high volume fractionγ'precipitates emerged and their sizes and morphologies were comparable to those in PM alloy.<001>texture is relieved and columnar grains tend to become more equiaxed due to static recrystallization process and grain boundary migration events.Significant annealing twins formed in SLM alloy and are clarified as a consequence of recrystallization.Our results provide fundamental understandings for the SLM PM nickel-based superalloy both before and after heat treatment and demonstrate the potential to fabricate this group of alloys using SLM technology.Hongyu Wu Dong Zhang Biaobiao Yang Chao Chen Yunping Li Kechao Zhou Liang Jiang Ruiping Liu 2020Journal of Materials Science & Technology2020,36,1:4
17Species transformation and structure variation of fulvic acid during ozonation显示文摘The species transformation and structure variation of fulvic acid (FA) during ozonation were investi- gated in this study. The molecular weight (MW) distribution, the species of intermediate products and the variation of polar functional groups were studied by ultrafiltration, gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) and titration analyses respectively. The average MW of FA decreased signifi- cantly during ozonation. The amount of polar functional groups (carboxylic and phenolic (ph-OH) groups) per unit DOC (mol/kg C) increased with increasing ozonation time. Furthermore, GC/MS ex- periments demonstrated the formation of polar species (e.g., hexadecanoic acid, benzoic acid and oc- tadecanoic alcohol) and less-polar species (e.g., aliphatic hydrocarbons and butanedioic acid, bis(2-methylpropyl) ester). Electron spin resonance (ESR) measurements proved the presence of ·OH radicals in the ozonation system. Based on our experimental results, it appears that the oxidations by ozone molecule and ·OH radicals were responsible for the transformation of organics (FA and its oxi- dation products) during ozonation. 18Health-related quality of life among rural residents aged 45-69 years in Hua County, Henan Province, China: Results of ESECC Trial for esophageal cancer screening with endoscopy显示文摘Objective: There have been few population-based studies evaluating health related quality of life(HRQOL) in rural populations in China, and this study aimed to assess the current status of and risk factors for HRQOL in a general rural population in high risk region of esophageal cancer in China.Methods: From November 2015 to September 2016, 12,085 permanent residents aged 45–69 years from 257 villages in the Endoscopic Screening for Esophageal Cancer in China(ESECC) trial(Clinical Trials.gov:NCT01688908) randomly selected from Hua County, Henan Province, China were interviewed. The EQ-5 D-3 L,a generic measure of HRQOL, and a questionnaire were used to assess their HRQOL and potential risk factors.Results: Among all the participants, 30.62% of the participants reported problems in at least one EQ-5 D dimension. Pain/discomfort(25.52%) was the most frequently reported problem followed by anxiety/depression(7.97%), mobility(5.82%), usual activities(2.61%) and self-care(1%). These rural residents had a mean EQ-5 D index score of 0.948, and lower EQ-5 D index scores were associated with older age, female gender, lower levels of household annual per capita income, living alone, using shallow wells as main source of drinking water, exposure to family members smoking, testiness, unhealthy dietary habits, overweight or obesity, upper gastrointestinal cancer related symptoms and chronic diseases.Conclusions: Rural residents in China have a relatively low quality of life. Health promotion programs in this population should focus on the elderly, especially elderly women and the elderly living alone. Improving basic living circumstances and primary medical care services should be priorities. 19Pre-oxidation enhanced cyanobacteria removal in drinking water treatment: A review显示文摘Cyanobacterial bloom has many adverse effects on source water quality and drinking water production. The traditional water treatment process can hardly achieve satisfactory removal of algae cells. This review examines the impact of pre-oxidation on the removal of cyanobacteria by solid-liquid separation processes. It was reported that the introduction of chemical oxidants such as chlorine, potassium permanganate, and ozone in algae-laden water pretreatment could improve algae removal by the subsequent solid-liquid separation processes. However, over dosed oxidants can result in more serious water quality risks due to significant algae cell lysis and undesirable intracellular organic matter release. It was suggested that moderate pre-oxidation may enhance the removal of cyanobacteria without damaging algae cells. 20Comparative transcriptome study provides insights into acquisition of embryogenic ability in upland cotton during somatic embryogenesis显示文摘Background: The conversion from non-embryogenic callus(NEC) to embryogenic callus(EC) is the key bottleneck step in regeneration of upland cotton(Gossypium hirsutum), and hinders the transgenic breeding of upland cotton.To investigate molecular mechanisms underlying acquisition of embryogenic potential during this process, comparation analysis of transcriptome dynamics between two upland cotton cultivars with different somatic embryogenesis abilities was conducted.Results: Differentially expressed genes involved in the transformation from NEC to EC were detected in the two different cultivars. Principal component analysis based on DEGs showed that the NEC tissues of the two cultivars were highly heterogeneous, whereas the derived EC tissues were similar, which suggested the homogeneousness of EC between different lines. In the highly embryogenic cultivar CCRI 24, more of these genes were down-regulated, whereas,in the recalcitrant cultivar CCRI 12, more were up-regulated. Bioinformatics analysis on these DEGs showed that the vast majority of differentially expressed genes were enriched in metabolism and secondary metabolites biosynthesis pathways. Flavonoid biosynthesis and phenylpropanoid biosynthesis pathways were enriched in both cultivars,and the associated genes were down-regulated more in CCRI 24 than in CCRI 12. We deduced that vigorous secondary metabolism in CCRI 12 may hinder primary metabolism, resulting in tardiness of cell differentiation.Interestingly, genes involved in the plant hormone signal transduction pathway were enriched in the recalcitrant cultivar CCRI 12 but not in CCRI 24, suggesting more radical regulation of hormone signal transduction in the recalcitrant cultivar. Signal transduction rather than biosynthesis of plant hormones is more likely to be the determining factor triggering NEC to EC transition in recalcitrant cotton lines. Transcription factor encoding genes showed differential regulation between two cultivars.Conclusions: Our study provides valuable information about the molecular mechanism of conversion from NEC to EC in cotton and allows for identification of novel genes involved.
