1Mo SILTCIDE SYNTHISIS BY DUAL ION BEAM DEPOSITION显示文摘Mo suicides Mo5 Si3 with high quality were prepared using ion beam deposition equipment with two Filter Metal Vacuum Arc Deposition (FMEVAD). When the number of alternant deposition times was 198, total thickness of the coating is 40nm. The coatings with droplet free can be readily obtained, so the surface is smooth. TEM observation shows that Mo and Si alternant deposition coating is compact structure. The fine Mo suicide grains densely distributed in the coating. 4INTRODUCTION TO INCONEL ALLOY 740: AN ALLOY DESIGNED FOR SUPERHEATER TUBING IN COAL-FIRED ULTRA SUPERCRITICAL BOILERS显示文摘Chinese utilities as well as those worldwide are facing increased demand for additional electricity, reduced plant emissions and greater efficiency. To meet this challenge will require increasing boiler temperature, pressure and coal ash corrosion resistance of the materials of boiler construction of future coal-fired boilers. A new nickel-based tube alloy, INCONELR alloy 740, is described aiming at meeting this challenge. Emphasis will be on describing the alloy’s mechanical properties, coal-ash and steam corrosion resistance. Microstructural stability as a function of temperature and time is addressed as well as some of the early methodology employed to arrive at the current chemical composition.S.J. 5Acute phase reaction and acute phase proteins显示文摘A review of the systemic acute phase reaction with major cytokines involved, and the hepatic metabolic changes, negative and positive acute phase proteins (APPs) with function and associated pathology is given. It appears that APPs represent appropriate analytes for assessment of animal health. Whereas they represent non-specific markers as biological effect reactants, they can be used for assessing nutritional deficits and reactive processes, especially when positive and negative acute phase variables are combined in an index. When such acute phase index is applied to separate healthy animals from animals with some disease, much better results are obtained than with single analytes and statistically acceptable results for culling individual animals may be reached. Unfortunately at present no cheap, comprehensive and easy to use system is available for assessing various acute phase proteins in serum or blood samples at the same time. Protein microarray or fluid phase microchip technology may satisfy this need; and permit simultaneous analysis of numerous analytes in the same small volume sample and enable integration of information derived from systemic reactivity and nutrition with disease specific variables. 7THE APPARENT VISCOSITY OF SEMI-SOLID AZ91D ALLOY AT STEADY STATE显示文摘The Rheological behavior of semi-solid AZ91D at steady state is studied using a Couettetype viscometer in the present paper. The results show that the apparent viscosity ofsemi-solid AZ91D at the steady state increases with the solid fraction increasing, andgoes up sharply when the solid fraction reaches a certain value, which is called criticalfraction. In addition, the apparent viscosity of semi-solid AZ91D at the steady statetakes on a distinct downtrend with the shearing rate increasing, which indicates astrong shear thinning property. 10STOCHASTIC CRACKING AND HEALING BEHAVIORS OF THIN FILMS DURING REACTION-DIFFUSION GROWTH显示文摘The stochastic cracking and healing behaviors of reaction-diffusion growth of thin films were studied by means of Markov processes analysis. We chose the thermal growth of oxide scales on metals as an example of reaction-diffusion growth. The thermal growth of oxide films follows power law when no cracking occurs. Our results showed that the growth kinetics under stochastic cracking and healing conditions was different from that without cracking. It might be altered to either pseudo-linear or pseudo-power laws dependent upon the intensity and frequency of the cracking of the films. When the hoping items dominated, the growth followed pseudo-linear law; when the diffusional items dominated, it followed pseudo-power law with the exponentials lower than the intrinsical values. 12Superelasticity and Tunable Thermal Expansion across a Wide Temperature Range显示文摘Materials that undergo a reversible change of crystal structure through martensitic transformation(MT)possess unusual functionalities including shape memory, superelasticity, and low/negative thermal expansion. These properties have many advanced applications, such as actuators, sensors, and energy conversion, but are limited typically in a narrow temperature range of tens of Kelvin. Here we report that, by creating a nano-scale concentration modulation via phase separation, the MT can be rendered continuous by an in-situ elastic confinement mechanism. Through a model titanium alloy, we demonstrate that the elastically confined continuous MT has unprecedented properties, such as superelasticity from below 4.2 K to 500 K, fully tunable and stable thermal expansion, from positive, through zero, to negative, from below 4.2 K to 573 K, and high strength-to-modulus ratio across a wide temperature range.The elastic tuning on the MT, together with a significant extension of the crystal stability limit, provides new opportunities to explore advanced materials.Y.L. 14Carbide Formation Process in Directionally Solidified MAR-M247 LC Superalloy显示文摘Carbide nucleation, growth and trapping behavior in directionally solIdified MAR-M247 LC alloyand the corresponding mechanism have been investigated. Carbide forming element enrichmentcontrols the carbide nucleation and the carbide growth behavior. If the carbide forming elementenrichment and the nucleation sites are suitable, carbide nucleation can occur both above andbelow the liquidus temperature. Heterogeneous carbide nucleation is the preferred nucleationmechanism at low carbide forming element enrichment. Carbide growth occurs mainIy at inter-secondary ry dendrite arm area and lower part of the mushy zone. The carbides are subsequentlytrapped at these positions after growing to a certain size. Some carbides are only partially trappedby the solid-liquid interface and the carbide growth accelerates after being partially trapped. Acritical growth rate exists between 2×10-6 m/s and 5 ×10-6 m/s. 18Fatigue Behavior of HDPE Composite Reinforced with Silane Modified TiO_2显示文摘The composite of high density polyethylene reinforced with silane-modified TiO2 particles (silane-TiO2/HDPE) is a potential bone substitute biomaterial. The structure, bioactivity, and mechanical properties of silane-TiO2/HDPE are analogous to those of natural bone, correspondingly. In order to investigate the effect of silane connection and saline solution on fatigue behaviors, flexural fatigue tests with this composite were carried out in both air and saline solution. Saline solution was found to have different effect on fatigue life. In saline solution, the fatigue life could be improved at stress levels lower than 30 MPa, while the fatigue life could be reduced at stress levels higher than 30 MPa. After analyzing the fracture morphologies, different failure mechanisms were proposed, and the important role of silane connection in the composite during the fatigue process was discussed. Silane connection cannot only support the loading stress but also hinder the failure process under loading effectively. For dry specimens, no interfacial failure between the filler and matrix was found. For wet specimens, it is inferred that the synergetic effect of saline solution and high concentrated stress at high stress level could easily destroy the silane connection, which accelerated the fracture process, whereas the synergetic effect of saline solution and silane connection at low stress level could promote the formation of more microcracks on sample surface, which hindered the final fracture.C.X.
