| 1 | SEASONAL AND DIURNAL VARIATIONS OF PM_(1.0),PM_(2.5) AND PM_(10) IN THE ROADSIDE ENVIRONMENT OF HONG KONG显示文摘PM1.0 (fine particles, with diameter < 1 μm), PM2.5 (fine particles, with diameter < 2.5 μm) and PM10 (coarse particles, with diameter < 10 μm) were measured at 24-hour intervals near a high-traffic road in Hong Kong, from October 2004 to September 2005. Mass concentrations were determined for the three particle fractions, averaging for PM1.0, PM2.5 and PM10, respectively, 44.5±18.4, 55.4±25.5 and 81.3±37.7 μg?m-3. PM2.5 was 3.7 times the U.S. EPA’s annual NAAQS of 15 μg?m-3. Overall, PM1.0 accounted for 44 to 69% (average 57%) of PM10, while PM2.5 accounted for 58 to 82% (average 71%) in this study. The particulate masses showed obvious seasonal patterns with high concentrations in cold seasons and low in warm seasons, especially high concentrations of PM2.5-10 during the cold seasons. | 2 | A hybrid model for numerical wave forecasting and its implementation-Ⅰ.The wind wave model显示文摘The authors make an endeavor to explain why a new hybrid wave model is here proposed when several such models have already been in operation and the so- called third generation wave modej is proving attractive. This part of the paper is devoted to the wind wave model. Both deep and shallow water models have been developed, the former being actually a special case of the latter when water depth is great. The deep water model is exceptionally simple in form. Significant wave height is the only prognostic variable. In comparison with the usual methods to compute the energy input and dissipations empirically or by 'tuning', the proposed model has the merit that the effects of all source terms are combined into one term which is computed through empirical growth relations for significant waves, these relations being, relatively speaking, easier and more reliable to obtain than those for the source terms in the spectral energy balance equation. | 3 | 白内障手术中植入散光型人工晶状体矫正角膜散光的效果评价显示文摘目的:评价白内障手术植入散光型人工晶状体(MS6116TU)的术后效果和人工晶状体轴位的稳定性。方法:对154眼进行回顾性总结分析。采用颞侧透明切口的白内障超声乳化法,植入折叠式散光型人工晶状体。术后向量分析借助双角图表,统计学处理采用T2检验。结果:主观验光的平均散光向量术前为1.51D×178°,术后为0.07D×121°。术后1d有11眼(7.1%)ToricIOL的轴向比预定方向偏差15°以上,随访中有12眼(7.8%)轴向偏离在15°以上;晶状体在囊袋内稳定性能好,本组未有二次手术再定位者。无论是高度(≥5D)或低度(≤2D)的散光晶状体均取得了预期的效果。结论:在白内障手术中植入散光人工晶状体矫正术前角膜的散光,临床效果准确、可靠,并有着较好的预测性,具有一定的推广前景。 | 党光福 S.C. | 6 | Flux blended synthesis of novel Y2O3:Eu^3+ sensing arrays for highly sensitive dual mode detection of LFPs on versatile surfaces显示文摘In the present communication,various fluxes blended Y_2 O_3:Eu^(3+)(5 mol%) nanopowders(NPs) were successfully fabricated by solution combustion method.PXRD pattern confirms body-centered cubic structure of the prepared samples.Energy band gap(Eg) of the fabricated products was estimated and is found to be in the range of 3.13-3.32 eV.Photoluminescence(PL) emission spectra exhibit sharp and intense peaks at ~579,592,614,657,704 nm corresponding to ~5 D_0→~7 F_J(J = 0,1,2,3 and 4) transitions of Eu^(3+) ions.Significance of fluxes for enhancing the PL emissions was extensively studied.Photometric studies of the prepared samples are located in pure red region.Optimized NPs were explored as a novel sensing agent for visualization of latent fingerprints(LFPs) on various surfaces including porous,semiporous and non-porous surfaces followed by powder dusting technique.Various experiments including aging,temperature,scratching and aquatic fresh water treatment tests were performed to evaluate applicability of the fabricated NPs.Visualized LFPs exhibit well defined ridge details including most authenticated sweat pores are also revealed with high sensitivity,selectivity,little background hindrance and less toxicity.Aforementioned results evidence that the method and fabricated NPs can be considered to be simple,rapid and economical and provide novel sensing platform for LFPs visualization in prospective forensic applications. | K.N. | 7 | Towards context consistency by concurrent checking for Internetware applications显示文摘Internetware applications are emerging and being widely used.They can adapt their behavior based on environmental contexts and deliver smart services.These contexts can be subject to various noises,which cause them to be inaccurate,incomplete,or even to conflict with each other.This is known as context inconsistency problem.Context inconsistency can trigger unexpected behavior to applications,and therefore should be prevented.One promising approach is to check contexts against consistency constraints so as to detect the occurrences of context inconsistency at runtime.Existing techniques have attempted different ways to improve the checking efficiency or effectiveness with different trade-offs in space overhead or communication cost.However,none of them has exploited multi-core computing capability to systematically improve the checking efficiency.In this paper,we propose a novel concurrent checking technique Con-C to efficiently detect inconsistencies in huge volumes of dynamic contexts.Con-C derives checking subtasks for each consistency constraint based on its structure and semantics.It achieves this in a fully automated way,and at the same time can guarantee its derived checking subtasks to be persistently balanced.We evaluated Con-C by controlled experiments through a large-scale real-world application.It reported promising results that Con-C improved the checking efficiency by extra 57.0%,in addition to what had been gained by incremental checking. | XU Chang LIU YePang CHEUNG S.C. Each group makes path choices to minimize the travel cost to its destination in a reactive manner based on instantaneous information. The model consists of a conservation law equation coupled with an Eikonal-type equation for each group. The velocity-density relationship of pedestrian movement is obtained via an experimental method. The model is solved using a finite volume method for the conservation law equation and a fast-marching method for the Eikonal-type equation on unstructured grids.
