A step metallogenetic model for gold deposits in the northwestern Shandong Peninsula, China显示文摘Based on our study of the nature and variation of mineralization-controlling faults in their deep extension and the spatial distribution of gold orebodies in the northwestern Shandong Peninsula (NSP), here we propose that the gold deposits in the Jiaojia gold belt are controlled by listric faults and the gold deposits in the NSP are controlled by extensional fault system. We also suggest that there is a multiple mineralization space in the deep part of the NSP gold belt. As steps or benches occur along the deep extention of the listric fault where its dipping angle changes from steep to gentle, a number of gold deposits are correspondingly distributed as a steplike pattern, which is named as a step metallogenetic model for gold deposits in the NSP. The gold deposits in Shandong Peninsula were formed in the Cretaceous when the crust in the region experienced extention and thinning following the strong collision between North China Plate and Yangtze Plate during the Triassic. Crust anataxis, fluid remobilization, and extention-detachement of the crust are the leading factors for the gold mineralization.SONG MingChun YI PiHou XU JunXiang CUI ShuXue SHEN Kun JIANG HongLi YUAN WenHua WANG HuaJiang 2012Science China Earth Sciences2012,55,6:21
COVID-19 Outbreak Caused by Contaminated Packaging of Imported Cold-Chain Products—Liaoning Province,China,July 2020显示文摘Summary What is known about this topic?Few major outbreaks of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)have occurred in China after major nonpharmaceutical interventions and vaccines have been deployed and implemented. However, sporadic outbreaks that had high possibility to be linked to cold chain products were reported in several cities of China..What is added by this report? In July 2020,a COVID-19 outbreak occurred in Dalian,China. The investigations of this outbreak strongly suggested that the infection source was from COVID-19 virus-contaminated packaging of frozen seafood during inbound unloading personnel contact. What are the implications for public health practice?Virus contaminated paper surfaces could maintain infectivity for at least 17–24 days at-25℃.Exposure to COVID-19 virus-contaminated surfaces is a potential route for introducing the virus to a susceptible population.Countries with no domestic transmission of COVID-19 should consider introducing prevention strategies for both inbound travellers and imported goods.Several measures to prevent the introduction of the virus via cold-chain goods can be implemented.Huilai Ma1 Jianqun Zhang Ji Wang Ying Qin Cao Chen Yang Song Liang Wang Jun Meng Lingling Mao Fengqin Li Ning Li Jian Cai Yong Zhang Dayan Wang Yunting Xia Hong Wang Shaofeng Jiang Xiang Zhao Peihua Niu Wenjie Tan Tao Ma Yecheng Yao Naiying Mao Zhen Zhu Tianjiao Ji Qian Yang Baoying Huang Li Zhao Jianxing Yu Li Bai Shuangli Zhu Dongyan Wang Yan Zhang Yingwei Sun Mingchun Luan Yanhai Wang Haibo Sun Shihong Yang Zhijian Bo Xiang Ren Zhongjie Li George Fu Gao Wei Yao Wenqing Yao Zijian Feng Wenbo Xu 2021China CDC weekly2021,3,21:16
Geophysical-Geological Interpretation and Deep-Seated Gold Deposit Prospecting in Sanshandong-Jiaojia Area, Eastern Shandong Province, China显示文摘Integrated gravitational, electrical-magnetic surveys and data processing carried out in the Sanshandao-Jiaojia area, Eastern Shandong Province, northeast China, aim to illuminate the geological characteristics of this shallow-covered area and delineate deep-seated gold prospecting targets. In this region, altogether 12 faults exert critical control on distribution of three types of Early Precambrian metamorphic rock series, i.e. those in the metamorphic rock area, in the granitic rock area underlying the metamorphic rock, and in the remnant metamorphic rock area in granites, respectively. Additionally, the faults have major effects on distribution of four Mesozoic Linglong rock bodies of granite, i.e. the Cangshang, Liangguo, Zhuqiao-Miaojia and Jincheng granites. The Sanshandao and Jiaojia Faults are two well-known regional ore-controlling faults; they have opposite dip direction, and intersect at a depth of 4500 m. Fracture alteration zones have striking geophysical differences relative to the surrounding county rocks. The two faults extend down along dip direction in a gentle wave form, and appear at some steps with different dips. These steps comprise favorable gold prospecting areas, consistent with a step metallogenic model. Six deep-seated gold-prospecting targets are delineated, i.e. Jincheng-Qianchenjia, Xiaoxizhuang-Zhaoxian, Xiyou-Wujiazhuangzi, Xiangyangling-Xinlicun, Panjiawuzi and Miaojia-Pinglidian.SONG Mingchun WAN Guopu CAO Chunguo HE Chunyan 2012Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2012,86,3:15

Metallogenic Epoch of Nonferrous Metallic and Silver Deposits in the Jiaodong Peninsula, China and its Geological Significance显示文摘As China's most important gold-producing district, the Jiaodong Peninsula also contains copper,lead-zinc,molybdenum(tungsten),and other nonferrous metal ore deposits, but the space-time and genetic relationships with gold deposits remain uncertain. To investigate the temporal relationship between these nonferrous metal and gold ore deposits,We collected the samples from a number of nonferrous metallic and silver deposits and metallogenetic rock bodies in the eastern Jiaodong Peninsula for isotopic dating. The results show that the Re-Os isotopic model ages of the Lengjia molybdenum deposit in Rongcheng range from 114.5± 1.8 Ma to 112.6± 1.5 Ma,with an average age of 113.6± 1.6Ma;the LA-ICP-MS ^(206)Pb/^(238)U ages of 33 zircons in the sericitization porphyritic monzogranite that hosts the Tongjiazhuang silver deposit in Rongcheng range between 122 Ma and 109 Ma,with a weighted mean age of 116.04± 0.95 Ma;the LA-ICP-MS ^(206)Pb/^(238)U ages of 31 zircons in the copper metallogenic pyroxene monzodiorite that hosts the Kuangbei copper deposit in Rongcheng range from126 Ma to 106 Ma,with a weighted mean age of 116.6± 1.7 Ma;and the LA-ICP-MS ^(206)Pb/^(238)U ages of19 zircons in the pyroxene monzodiorite surrounding the Dadengge gold and multimetal deposit in Weihai range from 113 Ma to 110 Ma,with a weighted mean age of 111.7± 0.6 Ma.All these results indicate that the metallogenic ages of the silver and nonferrous metallic deposits in the Jiaodong Peninsula are in a limited range from 118 Ma to 111 Ma.Previous studies have demonstrated that the isotopic ages of gold deposits in the Jiaodong Peninsula range from 123 Ma to 110 Ma,while Weideshanian magmatism occurred between 126 Ma to 108 Ma.Both these ranges are grossly consistent with the metallogenic ages of silver and nonferrous metallic deposits in this study, suggesting that the large-scale mineralization occurred in the Early Cretaceous when magmatic activities were strong. This epoch may be linked to the lithosphere thinning and the thermo-upwelling extension in eastern China at that time.In addition, field investigation also shows that gold and nonferrous metallic deposits are distributed nearby the Weideshanian granite, with the nonferrous metallic deposits lying within or surrounding the granite pluton and the gold deposits outside the granite pluton. We propose the following mineralization scenario:In the Early Cretaceous,an intensive lithospheric extension induced partial melting and degassing of the metasomatized lithospheric mantle, which resulted in the formation of mantle-derived fluids enriched in metal elements.During the rapid process of magma ascent and intrusion,crust-derived fluids were activated by the magmatic thermal dome and served to further extract ore-forming materials from the crust. These fluids may have mixed with the mantle-derived fluid to form a crust-mantle mixing-type ore-forming fluid. The high-temperature conditions in the center or in contact with the granitic magmatic thermal dome would have been favorable for the formation of porphyry-type,skarn-type,and hydrothermal-vein-type ores, thus forming a series of Mo(W),Cu,and Pb-Zn deposits in the mid-eastern Jiaodong Peninsula. In contrast, the medium-to low-temperature conditions in the periphery of the magmatic thermal dome would have favored the deposition of gold(silver) ores under the appropriate physiochemical and structural conditions. The metallogenic epoch of the molybdenum, copper, and silver deposits, and their spatio-temporal and genetic relations to the gold deposits,as demonstrated in this study, not only provide important insights to the study of regional metallogeny, our understanding of the metallogenesis of the Jiaodong type gold deposit, and the geodynamic background of the large-scale mineralization in the Jiaodong Peninsula, but also have practical value in guiding the mineral exploration.SONG Mingchun WANG Shanshan YANG Lixin LI Jie LI Shiyong DING Zhengjiang 2017Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2017,91,4:12

Exhumation history and preservation of the Jiaojia giant gold deposit, Jiaodong Peninsula显示文摘The Jiaojia giant gold deposit is the largest gold deposit in China, with a total gold reserve of approximately 1200 t.Until now, the knowledge of the exhumation history of post-mineralization period is limited, in particular for the low-temperature thermochronology studies of samples below-1000 m. In this work, we combined zircon fission-track(ZFT) and apatite fission-track(AFT) dating of samples between-1100 and-2000 m to determine the post-mineralization cooling and exhumation history of the Jiaojia giant gold deposit. The ZFT ages ranged from 144.2±6.3 to 124.4±5.5 Ma, representing the cooling period and the disturbance of ore-forming fluid. The AFT ages ranged from 28.1±2.6 to 16.2±1.0 Ma, recording the exhumation and cooling processes. With reference to previous low-temperature thermochronology studies in the Jiaojia goldfield, we estimated the exhumation rate and amount of the Jiaojia giant gold deposit and reconstructed its exhumation and preservation history. The exhumation history was divided into four stages, rapid exhumation(~120–95 Ma), relatively slow exhumation(~95–50 Ma),slow exhumation(~50–30 Ma) and relatively rapid exhumation(since 30 Ma). Each stage corresponds to geological events related to the basin-mountain coupling that have occurred since the Cretaceous in the Jiaodong area, namely, a strong tectonic extension and volcanic eruption in the Jiaolai Basin, subsidence of the Jiaolai Basin and Wangshi Group molasse sedimentary, tectonic quiescence, and the Linqu Group basalt eruption of the Jiaobei uplift. Our results show that the exhumation of the Jiaojia giant gold deposit is ~5.2±1.2 km and the orebody erosion degree is relatively low, indicating huge prospecting potential deep in the Jiaojia giant gold deposit. These findings have significance and practical value for deep prospecting in the Jiaodong area.Qibin ZHANG Mingchun SONG Zhengjiang DING Meili GUO Mingling ZHOU Changguo DAI Guang HUO Peng ZHANG 2022Science China Earth Sciences2022,65,6:1

Gold mineralization in Jiaodong Peninsula and destruction of North China Craton:Insights from Mesozoic granite显示文摘Large-scale tectonic magmatism and extensive gold mineralization have occurred in the eastern North China Craton(NCC)(Jiaodong and Liaodong peninsulas)since Mesozoic, which indicated that the region experienced decratonization process. The genesis type of granites evolved from S-type to I-type and A-type during Late Jurassic to Early Cretaceous, and thus reflects the evolution of geodynamics in the Late Mesozoic, indicating the varied subduction process of the Paleo-Pacific Plate(PPP)and the craton destruction. The evolution of geochemical features shows that the mantle beneath the Jiaodong Peninsula evolved from EM-II in Jurassic to EM-I in Early Cretaceous, demonstrating that the mantle switched from enriched to depleted. The gold of decratonic gold deposits in Jiaodong Peninsula mainly comes from the lithospheric mantle domains metasomatized by fluids derived from the metamorphism and dehydration of the subducted slab in the mantle transition zone. The rapid decomposition of minerals leads to the concentrated release of ore-forming fluids, and this process leads to the explosive gold mineralization during the craton destruction.Extensive magmatic uplift and extensional structures, triggered by the craton destruction in Early Cretaceous formed the extensional tectonic system, providing space for the decratonic gold deposits in Jiaodong Peninsula.WANG Bin ZHOU Jianbo DING Zhengjiang ZHAO Tiqun SONG Mingchun BAO Zhongyi LYU Junyang XU Shaohui YAN Chunming LIU Xiangdong LIU Jialiang 2023Global Geology2023,26,2:0

Prolonged Mantle Modification beneath the North China Craton:Evidence from Contrasting Mafic Dykes in Jiaodong Peninsula显示文摘The nature of lithosphere mantle beneath North China Craton(NCC) has been changed during the Mesozoic. We investigated the mafic dykes in Jiaodong to put constraint on the origin of them and reveal the mantle evolution of the NCC.Zircons from Kunyushan and Nansu mafic dykes give concordia U-Pb ages of 114.9 and 52.8 Ma,respectively. The Kunyushan mafic dyke has high MgO(~8.0 wt.%) and Cr(>380 ppm) but lower FeO(<10 wt.%) contents.Large ion lithophile elements(LILE) are enriched compared to primitive mantle. The εHf(t) values of zircons are between-15.0 and-20.1.All these geochemical data imply an old and enriched lithosphere mantle source. In contrast, the Nansu mafic dyke has lower concentrations of Mg O(<7.0 wt.%) and Cr(200 ppm–230 ppm) but higher FeO(>11 wt.%) contents. The LILE and light rare earth elements(LREE) are not so strongly enriched relative to the mafic dyke from Kunyushan but display slight enrichment compared to the primitive mantle.Positive zircon εHf(t) values are obtained(from +11.7 to +19.5,with one outlier of +3.4).It is suggested that the Nansu dyke sourced from an enriched MORB mantle and was generated by fluid flux melting.Leilei Dong Zhiming Yang Mingchun Song 2023Journal of Earth Science2023,34,4:0
