| 1 | Strategies to modulate the intestinal microbiota and their effects on nutrient utilization, performance, and health of poultry显示文摘Poultry is widely produced and consumed meat globally.Its demand is expected to continue increasing to meet the animal protein requirement for ever-increasing human population.Thus,the challenge that poultry scientists and industry face are to produce sufficient amount of poultry meat in the most efficient way.In the past,using antibiotics to promote the growth of poultry and manage gut microbiota was a norm.However,due to concerns over potential fatalistic impacts on food animals and indirectly to humans,their use as feed additives are banned or regulated in several jurisdictions.In this changed context,several alternative strategies have been proposed with some success that mimics the functions of antibiotics as growth promoters and modulate gut microbiota for their beneficial roles.These include the use of probiotics,prebiotics,organic acids,and exogenous enzyme,among others.Gut microbiota and their metabolic products improve nutrient digestion,absorption,metabolism,and overall health and growth performance of poultry.This paper reviews the available information on the effect of feed additives used to modulate intestinal microbiota of poultry and their effects on overall health and growth performance.Understanding these functions and interactions will help to develop new dietary and managerial strategies that will ultimately lead to enhanced feed utilization and improved growth performance of poultry.This review will help future researchers and industry to identify alternative feed ingredients having properties like prebiotics,probiotics,organic acids,and exogenous enzymes. | Sudhir Yadav Rajesh Jha | 2019 | Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2019,10,3: | 37 |

| 3 | Ultrasound shear wave elastography and liver fibrosis: A Prospective Multicenter Study显示文摘AIM To assess the accuracy of shear wave elastography(SWE) alone and in combination with aminotransferase platelet ratio index(APRI) score in the staging of liver fibrosis.METHODS A multicenter prospective study was conducted to assess the accuracy of SWE(medians) and APRI to predict biopsy results. The analysis focused on distinguishing the different stages of liver disease, namely, F0 from F1-4, F0-1 from F2-4, F0-2 from F3-4 and F0-3 from F4; F0-F1 from F2-F4 being of primary interest. The area under the receiver operating characteristic(AUROC) curve was computed using logistic regression model. The role of age, gender and steatosis was also assessed.RESULTS SWE alone accurately distinguished F0-1 from F2-4 with a high probability. The AUROC using SWE alone was 0.91 compared to 0.78 for using the APRI score alone.The APRI score, when used in conjunction with SWE, did not make a significant contribution to the AUROC. SWE and steatosis were the only significant predictors that differentiated F0-1 from F2-4 with an AUROC of 0.944.CONCLUSION Our study validates the use of SWE in the diagnosis and staging of liver fibrosis. | 4 | 颧骨复合体骨折临床资料回顾性研究显示文摘目的:旨在对颧骨骨折的流行病学、治疗、并发症等作初步评估。方法:从长江大学第一人民医院2008年8月~2013年8月期间的97例颧骨骨折住院患者的病情资料中,针对性别、年龄、个人嗜好、病因、症状体征、口腔卫生状况、初诊、住院、手术时间、骨折类型、手术进路、治疗手段、抗生素使用情况、出院时间、术后并发症发生等方面进行描述性分析。结果:本病发生最常见的年龄段是31~40岁,最常见的病因是交通事故,最常见的症状体征是疼痛与肿胀,骨折类型以Ⅰ类骨折最常见,手术的方式全都采用切开复位内固定的术式,术后如有指征可使用抗生素,最常见的并发症是下眶下区麻木。结论:目前的治疗方案较为合理,与其他同类报道相比,有一定的先进性。 | Sudhir Shrestha 章宏毅 李祖兵 | 2015 | 口腔医学研究2015,31,2: | 11 |

| 8 | 婴儿阑尾盲肠多重套叠并急性阑尾炎一例并文献复习显示文摘目的探讨婴儿期阑尾盲肠多重套叠并急性阑尾炎的临床病理和诊治方法。方法回顾性分析1例阑尾盲肠多重套叠并急性阑尾炎8月龄婴儿的临床资料,并通过PubMed、ProQuest、中国知网(CNKI)、万方和维普数据库中检索2016年5月前的报道并复习相关文献资料,对各类儿童阑尾套叠进行系统性综述。结果本例阑尾盲肠多重套叠并急性阑尾炎经手术诊断,整复套叠后切除阑尾并经病理证实,术后顺利康复。共检索到215例阑尾套叠中儿童52例,阑尾盲肠套叠136例,仅3例阑尾自身套叠中有2例为儿童;检索到肠套叠并阑尾炎66例,儿童59例,其中小于1岁的患儿27例,回结型肠套叠43例,此外,检索到回肠盲肠型套叠7例和盲肠盲肠型套叠并阑尾炎1例均为成人患者,所有病例均行手术治疗而痊愈。儿童阑尾盲肠多重套叠并急性阑尾炎者未见报道。结论婴儿阑尾盲肠多重套叠并急性阑尾炎罕见,如套叠未导致回盲瓣排空完全梗阻则无典型症状体征,诊断困难,易误、漏诊。因此,对经保守治疗不能解除肠梗阻且不能解释其原因时,只要B型超声提示“同心圆征”或“套筒征”就应果断行手术探查以明确诊断并及时治疗。 | 张远圆 张杉杉 吴学东 李娜 Sudhir Rajbhandari 李家萌 | 2017 | 中华小儿外科杂志2017,38,3: | 8 |

| 11 | Isolation, serotype diversity and antibiogram of Salmonella enterica isolated from different species of poultry in India显示文摘Objective: To study the occurrence and serotype diversity of Salmonella isolates in different species of poultry(chicken, emu and duck) and determine their resistance pattern against various antibiotics of different classes.Methods: About 507 samples comprising 202 caecal contents and 305 fecal samples from chicken, emu and duck were processed for isolation of Salmonella enterica. Salmonellae were isolated and detected by standard protocol of ISO 6579 Amendment 1: Annex D. Genetic confirmation was also made by using 16 S r RNA genus specific PCR. Serotype specific PCR was also done to detect the most common serovars viz. Salmonella Enteritidis, Salmonella Typhimurium and Salmonella Gallinarum. All obtained isolates were subjected to a set of 25 antibiotics to study their antibiogram by using Baeur-Kirby disk diffusion method.Results: Out of 507 samples processed, 32 isolates of Salmonella enterica(18 from caecal contents and 14 from faecal samples) were obtained, of which 24 belonged to 6 different serovars, 6 were untypeable and 2 were rough strains. Salmonella Enteritidis was the most predominant serotype(9), followed by Salmonella Typhimurium(5), Salmonella Virchow(4), Salmonella Gallinarum(3), Salmonella Reading(2) and Salmonella Altona(1). Antibiotic resistance pattern was maximum(100%) to oxacillin, penicillin and clindamycin, followed by ampicillin(68.75%), tetracycline(65.62%), nalidixic acid(56.25%) and colistin(46.87%). High sensitivity of isolates was recorded for chloramphenicol(96.87%) followed by meropenem(84.37%). Conclusions: Occurrence of high proportion of serovars in our study which can cause serious gastroenteritis in humans is a matter of concern. Salmonella Altona has been detected for the first time in India from poultry. This serotype is known to cause serious outbreaks of gastroenteritis in humans. Multidrug resistant isolates were recovered at high percentage which can be attributed to non-judicious use of antibiotics both in prophylaxis and treatment regimen.
