| 1 | Advances in research of the mid-deep South China Sea circulation显示文摘The South China Sea(SCS)is a large marginal sea connecting the Indian and Pacific oceans.Under the factors of monsoons,strait transport,and varied bathymetry,the SCS presents a three-layer structure and strong diapycnal mixing which is far greater than that in the open ocean.Theoretical analysis and observations reveal that internal tides,internal solitary waves,and strong winds are the sources of the strong mixing in the northern SCS.A major consequence of the strong mixing is an active mid-deep circulation system.This system promotes exchange of water between the SCS and adjacent oceans,and also regulates the upper layer of wind-driven circulation,making the 3 dimensional SCS circulation clearly different from that in other tropical and subtropical marginal seas.The mass transport capacity of the mid-deep circulation has a substantial impact on marine sedimentation,the biogeochemical cycle,and other processes in the SCS.This paper summarizes the recent advances in middeep sea circulation dynamics of the SCS,and discusses the opportunities and challenges in this area. | Dongxiao WANG Qiang WANG Shuqun CAI Xiaodong SHANG Shiqiu PENG Yeqiang SHU Jingen XIAO Xiaohui XIE Zhiwei ZHANG Zhiqiang LIU Jian LAN Dake CHEN Huijie XUE Guihua WANG Jianping GAN Xinong XIE Rui ZHANG Hui CHEN Qingxuan YANG | 2019 | Science China Earth Sciences2019,62,12: | 8 |
| 2 | First experimental constraints on WIMP couplings in the effective field theory framework from CDEX显示文摘We present weakly interacting massive particles(WIMPs) search results performed using two approaches of effective field theory from the China Dark Matter Experiment(CDEX), based on the data from both CDEX-1B and CDEX-10 stages. In the nonrelativistic effective field theory approach, both time-integrated and annual modulation analyses were used to set new limits for the coupling of WIMP-nucleon effective operators at 90% confidence level(C.L.) and improve over the current bounds in the low mχregion. In the chiral effective field theory approach, data from CDEX-10 were used to set an upper limit on WIMP-pion coupling at 90% C.L. | 3 | One-pot pyrolysis synthesis of highly active Ru/RuOx nanoclusters for water splitting显示文摘Using simple methods to obtain efficient catalysts has been a long-standing goal for researchers.In this work,the employment of a one-pot pyrolysis reaction to achieve molecular confinement,has led to the preparation of ruthenium(Ru)-based nanoclusters in a carbon matrix.A unique feature of the synthetic approach employed is that solvent and substrates were calcined together.As solvent evaporates,during calcination,the substrates form a dense solid which has the effect of limiting the aggregation of Ru centers during the carbonization process.The catalyst prepared in this simple manner showed an impressively high activity with respect to the hydrogen/oxygen evolution reaction(HER/OER).The Ru nanoclusters(Ru NCs),as the hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)catalysts,require ultralow overpotentials of 5 mV and 5.1 mV at-10 mA·cm^(-2) in 1.0 M KOH,and 0.5 M H_(2)SO_(4),respectively.Furthermore,the catalyst prepared by the one-pot method has higher crystallinity,a higher Ru content and an ultrafine cluster size,which contributes to its exceptional electrochemical performance.Meanwhile,the RuO_(x) nanoclusters(RuO_(x) NCs),obtained by oxidizing the aforementioned Ru NCs,exhibited good oxygen evolution reaction(OER)performance with an overpotential of 266 mV at 10 mA·cm^(-2).When applied to overall water splitting,Ru/RuO_(x) nanoclusters as the cathode and anode catalysts can reach 10 mA·cm^(-2) at cell voltages of only 1.49 V in 1 M KOH. | Fengyuan Zhu Jiangyan Xue Lingjian Zeng Jingrui Shang Shuanglong Lu Xueqin Cao Brendan F.Abrahams Hongwei Gu Jianping Lang | 2022 | Nano Research2022,15,2: | 1 |

| 7 | Evaluation of Flue Gas Denitration Catalyst显示文摘Routine testing and evaluation of denitration catalyst performance are important approaches for effective operation and management of flue gas denitration system. A selective catalytic reduction (SCR) denitration catalyst used in a power plant in Xiamen was investigated in this study. The surface activity, microscopic properties and surface deposit of the catalyst were tested. It was found that: the activity (K/K 0) of the catalyst was 0.72 after 25 144 hours of operation. Almost no pores in the used catalyst had a channel diameter less than 3.5 nm. The specific surface area reduced significantly to 13.5% 17.7%. Loss of VO X compound was observed. Crystal particles showed some degree of conglomeration. Further study found that the concentrations of Ca 2+ , Na + , K + and P deposited on the surface of the used catalyst were 4.5 5, 115 140, 4.6 5.7, and 7.4 7.9 times of that on fresh catalyst, respectively. Accumulation of Arsenic (As) on the catalyst was also found. The research methods adopted in this study and the results of the experiments are useful for developing catalyst testing and evaluation program in China. | 10 | Evacuation strategies for vertical ship lift during initial fire: Integrated application of stairs and elevators显示文摘Vertical ship lifts(VSLs)are widely used in navigation facilities worldwide because of their efficiency and low cost.Although several researchers have investigated fire evacuation strategies for reducing potential safety hazards in VSLs,an effective and integrated application of stairs and elevators when a fire occurs in a VSL is necessary.Several evacuation routes were analyzed according to VSL structure and evacuation times in this study.Objective function corresponding to the minimum vertical evacuation time and related simulation model was subsequently developed to obtain a cooperative evacuation plan considering different numbers of evacuees.The Three Gorges ship lift was used as an example,and simulation results indicate that number of evacuees and exit selection are the main influencing factors of the total evacuation time in the stair-and elevator-coordinated evacuation mode.Furthermore,the distance between people trapped in ship reception chamber and evacuation exits affects evacuees?choice of exits.The proposed model can provide a theoretical reference for evacuation research during initial fire events in VSLs. | Shu CHEN Menghan SHANG Jianping WANG | 2021 | Frontiers of Engineering Management2021,8,1: | 0 |
| 11 | Numerical analysis of fiber optical parameter amplifier based on triangular photonic crystal fiber显示文摘Due to triangular photonic crystal fiber (PCF) high nonlinearity and low dispersion slope,using the condition that the different linear phase shift combination must satisfy the phase match,the expressions of gain and bandwidth for one-pump fiber-optic parametric amplifiers (1P-FOPA) based on PCF in the normal and abnormal dispersion regimes are derived respectively. Then,1P-FOPAs performance com-parison among PCF,dispersion-shifted fiber (DSF) and highly nonlinear fibers (HNLF) are carried out by numerical simulations. It is shown that the 1P-FOPA based on triangular PCF can provide higher peak gain over wider bandwidth. When the pump wavelength is at the zero-dispersion wavelength (ZDWL),about 108.7 nm single-pass gain bandwidth and 91.4 dB peak gain can be obtained; when in the normal dispersion regime and near zero-dispersion wavelength,not less than 46 nm single-pass gain bandwidth 77.1 nm away from pump can be achieved.
