1Spatiotemporal variability of permafrost degradation on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau显示文摘Based on data from six meteorological stations in the permafrost regions, 60 boreholes for long-term monitoring of permafrost temperatures, and 710 hand-dug pits and shallow boreholes on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau (QTP), the spatiotemporal variability of permafrost degradation was closely examined in relation to the rates of changes in air, surface, and ground temperatures. The de-cadal averages and increases in the mean annual air temperatures (MAATs) from 1961-2010 were the largest and most persistent during the last century. MAATs rose by 1.3℃, with an average increase rate of 0.03℃/yr. The average of mean annual ground surface temperatures (MAGSTs) increased by 1.3℃ at an average rate of 0.03℃/yr. The rates of changes in ground temperatures were -0.01 to 0.07℃/yr. The rates of changes in the depths of the permafrost table were -1 to +10 cm/yr. The areal extent of permafrost on the QTP shrank from about 1.50×106 km2 in 1975 to about 1.26×106 km2 in 2006. About 60% of the shrinkage in area of permafrost occurred during the period from 1996 to 2006. Due to increasing air temperature since the late 1980s, warm (>-1℃) permafrost has started to degrade, and the degradation has gradually expanded to the zones of transitory (-1 to -2℃) and cold (<-2℃) permafrost. Permafrost on the southern and southeastern plateau degrades more markedly. It is projected that the degradation of permafrost is likely to accelerate, and substantial changes in the distributive features and thermal regimes of permafrost should be anticipated. 2Study on Biogenic Amines in Various Dry Salted Fish Consumed in China显示文摘This study was carried out to investigate the biogenic amines(BAs), physicochemical property and microorganisms in dry salted fish, a traditional aquatic food consumed in China. Forty three samples of dry salted fish were gathered from retail and wholesale markets and manufacturers, which had been produced in various regions in China. Cadaverine(CAD) and putrescine(PUT) were quantitatively the most common biogenic amines. About 14% of the samples exceeded the histamine content standards established by the FDA and/or EU. The highest histamine content was found in Silver pomfret(Pampus argenteus)(347.79 mg kg^(-1)). Five of forty three samples exceeded the acceptable content of TYR(100 mg kg^(-1)), and 23.26% of dried-salted fish contained high contents of biogenic amines(above 600 mg kg^(-1)). In addition, species, regions, pickling processes and drying methods made the physicochemical property, microorganisms and biogenic amines in dry salted fish to be different to some extents. The total plate count(TPC) was much higher than that of total halophilic bacteria in all samples. The biogenic amines, physicochemical property and microbiological counts exhibited large variations among samples. Furthermore, no significant correlation between biogenic amines and physicochemical property and TPC was observed. 3The Variation of Stone Cell Content in 236 Germplasms of Sand Pear(Pyrus pyrifolia)and Identification of Related Candidate Genes显示文摘Stone cells have been described to substantially influence pear fruit quality,as lignin and cellulose are the main components of stone cells.However,there are limited studies on the relationship between the variation and molecular basis of stone cells,lignin and cellulose content among different pear varieties.Here,to reveal the variation of stone cell content within different cultivated species,we collected 236 germplasms of sand pear(Pyrus pyrifolia)at 50 days after flower blooming(DAFB),the key stage of stone cell formation.In our results,we measured the content of stone cells,lignin and cellulose and found that these contents ranged from2.82%to 29.00%,8.84%to 55.30%and 11.52%to 30.55%,respectively.Further analysis showed that the variation coefficient of stone cell,lignin and cellulose content was 39.10%,28.03%and 16.71%,respectively.Additionally,a significant correlation between stone cell,lignin and cellulose content were detected,and the correlation coefficient between the contents of stone cell and lignin(0.912)was higher than between the contents of stone cell and cellulose(0.796).Moreover,the average lignin content(29.73%)was higher than the average cellulose content(18.03%)in stone cells in pear fruits,indicating that lignin is the main component of stone cell in pears.Finally,on the basic of the transcriptome data,we identified 10 transcription factors belonging to bHLH,ERF,MYB,and NAC transcript families,which might be involved in lignin formation in stone cells.qRT-PCR experiments verified coincident trends between expression of candidate genes and stone cell content.This research laid foundation for future studies on genetic variation of stone cells in pear fruits and provided important gene resources for stone cell regulation.Jiaying Zhang Jiaming Li Cheng Xue Runze Wang Mingyue Zhang Kaijie Qi Jing Fan Hongju Hu Shaoling Zhang Jun Wu 2021Horticultural Plant Journal2021,7,2:3
4The involvement of PybZIPa in light-induced anthocyanin accumulation via the activation of PyUFGT through binding to tandem G-boxes in its promoter显示文摘To gain insight into how anthocyanin biosynthesis is controlled by light in fruit,transcriptome and metabolome analyses were performed in the Chinese sand pear cultivar“Mantianhong”(Pyrus pyrifolia)after bagging and bag removal.We investigated transcriptional and metabolic changes and gene-metabolite correlation networks.Correlation tests of anthocyanin content and transcriptional changes revealed that 1,530 transcripts were strongly correlated with 15 anthocyanin derivatives(R2>0.9,P-value<0.05),with the top 130 transcripts categorized as being associated with flavonoid metabolism,transcriptional regulation,and light signaling.The connection network revealed a new photosensitive transcription factor,PybZIPa,that might play an important role during light-induced anthocyanin accumulation.The overexpression of PybZIPa promoted anthocyanin accumulation in pear and strawberry fruit as well as tobacco leaves.Dual luciferase and Y1H assays further verified that PybZIPa directly activated the expression of PyUFGT by binding to tandem G-box motifs in the promoter,which was key to differential anthocyanin accumulation in debagged pear skin,and the number of G-box motifs affected the transcriptional activation of PyUFGT by PybZIPa.The results indicate that the light-induced anthocyanin biosynthesis regulatory mechanism in pear differs from that described in previous reports suggesting that a bZIP family member co-regulates anthocyanin biosynthesis with other transcription factors in apple and Arabidopsis.It was found that,in response to light,PybZIPa promoted anthocyanin biosynthesis by regulating important transcription factors(PyMYB114,PyMYB10,and PyBBX22)as well as structural genes(PyUFGT)via binding to G-boxes within promoters.This activation was amplified by the self-binding of PybZIPa to activate its own promoter.Overall,we demonstrate the utility of a multiomics integrative approach for discovering new functional genes and pathways underlying light-induced anthocyanin biosynthesis.Hainan Liu Jun Su Yangfan Zhu Gaifang Yao Andrew C.Allan Charles Ampomah-Dwamena Qun Shu Kui Lin-Wang Shaoling Zhang Jun Wu 2019Horticulture Research2019,6,1:3
5A preliminary study of the variation of phytoplankton absorption coefficients in the northern South China Sea显示文摘The temporal and spatial variabilities of phytoplankton absorption coefficients (a ph (λ)) and their relationships with physical processes in the northern South China Sea were examined, based on in situ data collected from two cruise surveys during May 14 to 25, 2001 and November 2 to 21, 2002. Significant changes in the surface water in a ph values and B/R ratios (a ph (440)/a ph (675)) were observed in May, which were caused by a phytoplankton bloom on the inner shelf stimulated by a large river plume due to heavy precipitation. This is consistent with the observed one order of magnitude elevation of chlorophyll a and a shift from a pico/nano dominated phytoplankton community to one dominated by micro-algae. Enhanced vertical mixing due to strengthened northeast monsoon in November has been observed to result in higher surface a ph (675) (0.002–0.006 m-1 higher) and less pronounced subsurface maximum on the outer shelf/slope in November as compared with that in May. Measurements of a ph and B/R ratios from three transects in November revealed a highest surface a ph (675) immediately outside the mouth of the Zhujiang (Pearl) River Estuary, whereas lower a ph (675) and higher B/R ratios were featured in the outer shelf/slope waters, demonstrating the respective influence of the Zhujiang River plume and the oligotrophic water of the South China Sea. The difference in spectral shapes of phytoplankton absorption (measured by B/R ratios and bathochromic shifts) on these three transects infers that picoprocaryotes are the major component of the phytoplankton community on the outer shelf/slope rather than on the inner shelf. A regional tuning of the phytoplankton absorption spectral model (Carder et al., 1999) was attempted, demonstrating a greater spatial variation than temporal variation in the lead parameter a 0 (λ). 6REMOTE SENSING OF ALGAL BLOOMS USING A TURBIDITY-FREE FUNCTION FOR NEAR-INFRARED ANDRED SIGNALS显示文摘This article presents a method for real- time mapping of algal blooms in turbid coastal waters using the remote sensing reflectance of red band (Channel 1, 580-680 nm) and near-infrared band (Channel 2, 720-1100 nm) of the AVHRR sensor on the NOAA series satellites. A turbidity-free function for near-infrared and red signals, α0 = (bb(1)/bb(2))(a(2)/ a(1)) based on the first order bb/(a+bb) model deduc-ing equation Rrs(2)?1 = α0 Rrs(1) ?1+ g?1 (1?α0), were se-lected as a chlorophyll-a related index for detecting algal blooms, and the algal blooms with chlorophyll-a concentration of 64-256 mg/L could be defined by window of 1.6 < α0 < 5.2 and 0.01< Rrs(2)/g < 0.2. Such turbidity-free two-band method is supported by both sea-truth data and remote sensing experiment for an algal blooms event on the near-shore water off the Minjiang estuary of southeastern China during early June of 2003. 15Impact of Temperature on Absorption Coefficient of Pure Seawater in the Blue Wavelengths Inferred from Satellite and In Situ Measurements显示文摘There has been a long history of interest on how(if)the absorption coefficient of“pure”fresh water(a_(fw)(λ))and“pure”seawater(a_(sw)(λ))changes with temperature(T),yet the impact of T reported in the literature differs significantly in the blue domain.Unlike the previous studies based on laboratory measurements,we took an approach based on~18 years(2002–2020)of MODIS ocean color and temperature measurements in the oligotrophic oceans,along with field measured chlorophyll concentration and phytoplankton absorption coefficient,to examine the relationship between T and the total absorption coefficient(a(λ))at 412 and 443 nm.We found that the values of a(412)and a(443)in the summer are nearly flat(slightly decreasing)for the observed T range of~19–27℃.Since there are no detectable changes of chlorophyll during this period,the results suggest that T has a negligible impact on a_(sw)(412) and a_(sw)(443)in this T range.As a complement,the impact of salinity on a_(fw)(λ) was also evaluated using three independent determinations of a_(sw)(λ) and a_(fw)(λ),where good agreements were found from these observations.Guomei Wei Zhongping Lee Xiuling Wu Xiaolong Yu Shaoling Shang Ricardo Letelier 2021Journal of Remote Sensing2021,,1:1
16Risk factors for chronic ankle instability after first episode of lateral ankle sprain:A retrospective analysis of 362 cases显示文摘Background:Chronic ankle instability(CAI) is a common sequela following an acute lateral ankle sprain(LAS).To treat an acture LAS more effectively and efficiently,it is important to identify patients at substantial risk for developing CAI.This study identifies magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) manifestations for predicting CAI development after a first episode of LAS and explores appropriate clinical indications for ordering MRI scans for these patients.Methods:All patients with a first-episode LAS who received plain radiograph and MRI scanning within the first 2 weeks after LAS from December 1,2017 to December 1,2019 were identified.Data were collected using the Cumberland Ankle Instability Tool at final follow-up.Demographic and other related clinical variables,including age,sex,body mass index,and treatment were also recorded.Univariable and multivariable analyses were performed successively to identify risk factors for CAI after first-episode LAS.Results:A total 131 out of 362 patients with a mean follow-up of 3.0± 0.6 years(mean ± SD;2.0—4.1 years) developed CAI after first-episode LAS.According to multivariable regression,development of CAI after first-episode LAS was associated with 5 prognostic factors:age(odds ratio(OR)=0.96,95% confidence interval(95%CI):0.93-1.00,p=0.032);body mass index(OR=1.09,95%CI:1.02-1.17,p=0.009);posterior talofibular ligament injury(OR=2.17,95%CI:1.05-4.48,p=0.035);large bone marrow lesion of the talus(OR=2.69,95%CI:1.30-5.58,p=0.008),and Grade 2 effusion of the tibiotalar joint(OR=2.61,95%CI:1.39-4.89,p=0.003).When patients had at least 1 positive clinical finding in the 10-m walk test,anterior drawer test,or inversion tilt test,they had a 90.2% sensitivity and 77.4% specificity in terms of detecting at least 1 prognostic factor by MRI.Conclusion:MRI scanning is valuable in predicting CAI after first-episode LAS for those patients with at least 1 positive clinical finding in the10-m walk test,anterior drawer test,and inversion tilt test.Further prospective and large-scale studies are necessary for validation.Jieyuan Zhang Kai Yang Cheng Wang Wenqi Gu Xueqian Li Shaoling Fu Guoxun Song Jiazheng Wang Chenglin Wu Hongyi Zhu Zhongmin Shi 2023Journal of Sport and Health Science2023,12,5:1
17Genomic selection of eight fruit traits in pear显示文摘Genomic selection (GS) has the potential to improve selection efficiency and shorten the breeding cycle in fruit tree breeding. In this study,we evaluated the effect of prediction methods, marker density and the training population (TP) size on pear GS for improving its performance and reducing cost. We evaluated GS under two scenarios:(1) five-fold cross-validation in an interspecific pear family;(2) independent validation. Based on the cross-validation scheme, the prediction accuracy (PA) of eight fruit traits varied between 0.33 (fruit core vertical diameter)and 0.65 (stone cell content). Except for single fruit weight, a slightly better prediction accuracy (PA) was observed for the five parametrical methods compared with the two non-parametrical methods. In our TP of 310 individuals, 2 000 single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) markers were sufficient to make reasonably accurate predictions. PAs for different traits increased by 18.21%-46.98%when the TP size increased from 50to 100, but the increment was smaller (-4.13%-33.91%) when the TP size increased from 200 to 250. For independent validation, the PAs ranged from 0.11 to 0.45 using rrBLUP method. In summary, our results showed that the TP size and SNP numbers had a greater impact on the PA than prediction methods. 19Development of an Ultrasonic Nomogram for Preoperative Prediction of Castleman Disease Pathological Type显示文摘An ultrasonic nomogram was developed for preoperative prediction of Castleman disease(CD)pathological type(hyaline vascular(HV)or plasma cell(PC)variant)to improve the understanding and diagnostic accuracy of ultrasound for this disease.Fifty cases of CD confirmed by pathology were gathered from January 2012 to October 2018 from three hospitals.A grayscale ultrasound image of each patient was collected and processed.First,the region of interest of each gray ultrasound image was manually segmented using a process that was guided and calibrated by radiologists who have been engaged in imaging diagnosis for more than 5 years.In addition,the clinical characteristics and other ultrasonic features extracted from the color Doppler and spectral Doppler ultrasound images were also selected.Second,the chi-square test was used to select and reduce features.Third,a naïve Bayesian model was used as a classifier.Last,clinical cases with gray ultrasound image datasets from the hospital were used to test the performance of our proposed method.Among these patients,31 patients(18 patients with HV and 13 patients with PC)were used to build a training set for the predictive model and 19(11 patients with HV and 8 patients with PC)were used for the test set.From the set,584 high-throughput and quantitative image features,such as mass shape size,intensity,texture characteristics,and wavelet characteristics,were extracted,and then 152 images features were selected.Comparing the radiomics classification results with the pathological results,the accuracy rate,sensitivity,and specificity were 84.2%,90.1%,and 87.5%,respectively.The experimental results show that radiomics was valuable for the differentiation of CD pathological type.Xinfang Wang Lianqing Hong Xi Wu Jia He Ting Wang Hongbo Li Shaoling Liu 2019Computers, Materials & Continua2019,,7:0
20Dihydroartemisinin enhances cell apoptosis in diffuse large B cell lymphoma by inhibiting the STAT3 activity显示文摘Background:Dihydroartemisinin(DHA)is reported to be a potential anticancer agent,and the mechanisms underlying the effects of DHA on diffuse large B cell lymphoma however are still obscure.This study aimed to assess the antitumor effect of DHA on diffuse large B cell lymphoma cells and to determine the potential underlying mechanisms of DHA-induced cell apoptosis.Methods:Here,the Cell Counting Kit 8 assay was conducted to study cell proliferation.We performed Annexin V-FITC/propidium iodide staining,real-time polymerase chain reaction,and western blot analysis to analyze cell apoptosis and potential molecular mechanisms.Results:The results showed that DHA substantially suppressed cell proliferation and induced cell apoptosis in vitro in a time-and concentration-dependent fashion.Moreover,STAT3 activity could be inhibited after stimulation with DHA.Conclusion:These results imply that the underlying anti-tumoral effect of DHA may increase apoptosis in diffuse large B cell lymphoma cells via the STAT3 signaling pathway.In addition,DHA might be an effective drug for diffuse large B cell lymphoma therapy.ZHENG CAO CHUNXIAO ZHOU ZHIMIN WU CHUNYAN WU WEN ZHANG SHILV CHEN XINDONG ZHAO SHAOLING WU 2023BIOCELL2023,47,5:0
