1Incidence and prevalence of moyamoya disease in urban China: a nationwide retrospective cohort study显示文摘Background and objective Moyamoya disease(MMD)is an increasingly recognised cause of stroke,mainly described in East Asia.China is the largest nation in Asia,but few studies reported the epidemiology of MMD,especially at a national level.We aimed to estimate the incidence and prevalence of MMD in China.Methods We performed a population-based study using data from the national databases of Urban Basic Medical Insurance between 2013 and 2016,covering approximately 0.50 billion individuals.MMD cases were identified by diagnostic code(International Classification of Diseases,10th Revision I67.5)or related diagnostic text.Results A total of 1987 MMD patients(mean age 44.45±14.30 years,female-to male ratio 1.12)were identified,representing a national crude incidence of 0.59(95%CI:0.49 to 0.68)and a prevalence of 1.01(95%CI:0.81 to 1.21)per 100000 person-years in 2016.Rates were higher in females than in males for the incidence(0.66 vs 0.52)and prevalence(1.05 vs 0.90).And the age-specific rates showed a bimodal distribution,with the highest peak in middle-aged group and the second peak in child group.Conclusions Our results confirm that MMD is relatively common in East Asians,but the rates in China were lower than those in other East Asian countries such as Japan and Korea.The unique epidemiological features,including a relatively weak female predominance and a shift in the highest peak of incidence from children to adults,revealed new sight into MMD.Further research is expected to explore the potential pathogenesis of MMD.Yixin Sun Guoyu Zhou Jingnan Feng Lu Chen Guozhen Liu Jinxi Wang Qingliang Wang Junyou Yu Xiwang Yang Zheng Yang Pei Gao Shengfeng Wang Siyan Zhan 2021Stroke & Vascular Neurology2021,6,4:4
2Effects of “Bioactive” amino acids leucine, glutamate, arginine and tryptophan on feed intake and mRNA expression of relative neuropeptides in broiler chicks显示文摘Feed intake control is vital to ensuring optimal nutrition and achieving full potential for growth and development in poultry. The aim of the present study was to investigate the effects of L-leucine, L-glutamate, L-tryptophan and L-arginine on feed intake and the mRNA expression levels of hypothalamic Neuropeptide involved in feed intake regulation in broiler chicks. Leucine, glutamate, tryptophan or arginine was intra-cerebroventricularly (ICV) administrated to 4d-old broiler chicks respectively and the feed intake were recorded at various time points. Quantitative PCR was performed to determine the hypothalamic mRNA expression levels of Neuropeptide Y (NPY), agouti related protein (AgRP), pro-opiomelanocortin (POMC), melanocortin receptor 4 (MC4R) and corticotrophin releasing factor (CRF). Our results showed that ICV administration of L-leucine (0.15 or 1.5 μmol) significantly (P<0.05) increased feed intake up to 2 h post-administration period and elevated both hypothalamic NPY and AgRP mRNA expression levels. In contrast, ICV administration of L-glutamate (1.6μmol) significantly (P<0.05) decreased feed intake 0.25, 0.5 and 2 h post-injection, and increased hypothalamic CRF and MC4R mRNA expression levels. Meanwhile, both L-tryptophan (10 or 100μg) and L-arginine (20 or 200μg) had no significant effect on feed intake. 3Selective laser melting of bulk immiscible alloy with enhanced strength:Heterogeneous microstructure and deformation mechanisms显示文摘To overcome the dimension limits of immiscible alloys produced by traditional techniques and enhance their mechanical properties,bulk Cu-Fe-based immiscible alloy with abundant nanotwins and stacking faults was successfully produced by selective laser melting(SLM).The SLM-produced bulk immiscible alloy displays a heterogeneous microstructure characterized by micro-scaledγ-Fe particles dispersed in fineε-Cu matrix with a high fraction(~92%)of high-angle grain boundaries.Interestingly,abundant nanotwins and stacking faults are generated in the interior of nano-scaledγ-Fe particles embedded withinε-Cu matrix.The heterogeneous interface of soft domains(ε-Cu)and hard domains(γ-Fe)not only induces the geometrically necessary dislocations(GNDs)but also affects the dislocation propagation during plastic deformation.Therefore,the bimodal heterogeneous interface,and the resistance of nanotwins and stacking faults to the propagation of partial dislocation make the bulk immiscible alloy exhibit an enhanced strength of~590 MPa and a good ductility of~8.9%.Shengfeng Zhou Min Xie Changyi Wu Yanliang Yi Dongchu Chen Lai-Chang Zhang 2022Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,9:3
4Recovery of Astaxanthin from Discharged Wastewater During the Production of Chitin显示文摘In this paper, studies were carried out to extract astaxanthin from discharged wastewater during the production of chitin and to reveal the scavenging effect of the obtained pigment on 1, 1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical. Different ratios of dichloromethane/methanol (V/V) were used to extract astaxanthin. When the ratio of dichloromethane/methanol was 2:8 and the ratio between the mixed organic solvent (dichloromethane/methanol, 2:8, V/V) and wastewater was 1:1, the highest yield of pigment was obtained (8.4 mg/ 50 mL). The concentration of free astaxanthin in the obtained pigment analyzed by HPLC was 30.02%. 9USP1-regulated reciprocal differentiation of Th17 cells and Treg cells by deubiquitinating and stabilizing TAZ显示文摘The balance between inflammatory T helper type 17(Th17)and immunosuppressive regulatory T(Treg)cells is critical for maintaining immune homeostasis in the human body and is tightly regulated under healthy conditions.An increasing number of studies have reported that deubiquitinases(DUBs)play a vital role in regulating Th17-and Treg-cell differentiation.However,the biological functions of only a small fraction of DUBs in Th17-and Treg-cell differentiation are well defined.In this study,we identified ubiquitin-specific peptidase 1(USP1)as a vital regulator of CD4+T-cell differentiation.USP1 promoted Th17-cell differentiation but attenuated Treg-cell differentiation,thereby promoting the development of inflammatory diseases.Mechanistically,USP1 in CD4+T cells enhanced the activity of RORγt but promoted the proteasomal degradation of Foxp3 through deubiquitination and stabilization of TAZ in vitro and in vivo.Notably,ML323,a specific inhibitor of the USP1/UAF1 deubiquitinase complex,inhibited Th17-cell differentiation and promoted Treg-cell differentiation in vitro and in vivo,indicating that ML323 might be a promising candidate for the treatment of diseases associated with an imbalance between Th17 and Treg cells.Our study highlights the critical role of USP1 in regulating adaptive immune responses and suggests that USP1 might be a drug target for the treatment of diseases associated with an imbalance between Th17 and Treg cells.Xiaotong Zhu Peng Wang Xiaoxia Zhan Yuping Zhang Junli Sheng Shitong He Yitian Chen Dingnai Nie Xiaolong You Haiyan Mai Qinghong Yu Laisheng Li Ligang Jie Shengfeng Hu 2023Cellular & Molecular Immunology2023,20,3:0

11Diurnal Variation of Photosynthetic Physiological Characteristics of Kadsura coccinea(Lem.)A.C.Smith显示文摘[Objectives]This study was conducted to investigate the diurnal variations of photosynthetic and physiological characteristics in 3-year-old Kadsura coccinea(Lem.)A.C.Smith plants.[Methods]A Li-6400 portable photosynthetic system was used to study the diurnal variations of the photosynthetic physiological characteristics of K.coccinea.[Results]The diurnal variation of the net photosynthetic rate(Pn)of K.coccinea leaves showed a'double peak'curve,and there was a lunch break at noon.The maximum value of Pn[4.51 mmol/(m^(2)·s)]appeared at 10:00,and the daily average Pn was 3.98 mol/(m^(2)·s);and the stepwise regression analysis showed that photosynthetically active radiation(PAR)and stomatal conductance(Gs)were the main factors affecting Pn.The partial correlation analysis and path analysis showed that the order of effects on Pn was Gs>PAR.[Conclusions]This study provides a reference for further research on the development and utilization of K.coccinea.Zongyou CHEN Shengfeng CHAI Xiaoxue QI Yujing Wei Huafei CEN 2021Agricultural Biotechnology2021,10,4:0
12Exploring link generation in a temporal evolution network for human mobility显示文摘The prevalence of mobile devices has spurred human mobility to be applied in mobile networking and communications by using network science, in which the temporal evolution of a network topology is of great importance for protocol design and performance analysis. This paper focuses on link generation in a temporal evolution network. Based on observations revealing the strong correlation between the connection patterns of different time periods, a link generation potential based on historical connections is proposed in this paper, aiming to provide a method for making topological predictions with less randomness. Using MIT Reality dataset, an evaluation of the accuracy of the proposed method was conducted. 14Effect of Down-regulated Expression of cPouV and cNanog on Pluripotency of Chicken(Gallus gallus) Embryonic Stem Cells(cESCs)显示文摘To explore the pluripotency maintenance and update the functional influence of pluripotency genes c Nanog and c Pou V in chicken( Gallus gallus) embryonic stem cells( c ESCs),the stable RNAi vectors p Super-c Nanog and p Super-c Pou V constructed previously were used to transfect c ESCs. The mRNA levels of two target genes were detected with real-time PCR. These two genes were down-regulated since the 48 thh and the down-regulation continued with the extension of time,the interference efficiency reached 65% at 96thhour( P < 0. 05). With the down-regulation of c Nanog or c Pou V gene,c ESCs showed differentiation and proliferation rate of these cells slowed down,the domed colony of these cells disappeared gradually when the edge of colony became irregular. At 96 thhour after transfection,the alkline phosphatase( AKP) and stage-specific embryonic antigen-1( SSEA-1) were not be detected in c Nanog gene-knocked out c ESCs,but it was done in that with c Pou V gene-knocked out. The c Pou V-suppressing c ESCs were again transfected with p Super-c Nanog,the pluripotency markers AKP and SSEA-1 were both not found expressing at the 48 thhour. The results showed that c Pou V and c Nanog genes played an important role in maintaining pluripotency and self- renewal in c ESCs,and c Nanog gene was dominant.
