1Effects of Iron and Zinc Fertilizers on Antioxidant Activity of PearJujube in Loess Hilly Region显示文摘With eight-year-old pear-jujube trees with uniform and good growth as the research object, different concentrations of iron and zinc fertilizers were sprayed to the leaves, and the changes in the contents of vitamin C,total flavonoids, enzyme,as well as the removal rates of hydroxyl radicals,1,1-diphenyl-2-trinitrophenylhydrazine( DPPH) and hydrogen peroxide by polyphenols in pear-jujube were studied,so as to explore the effects of iron and zinc fertilizers on antioxidant activity of pear-jujube in loess hilly region. The results showed that different treatments affected the content of vitamin C and significantly increased the content of total flavonoids in pear-jujube. In the treatment of 0. 6%Fe SO_4+ 0. 3% Zn SO_4( L3),the contents of vitamin C and total flavonoids were both highest,2. 86 mg/g and 3. 02 mg/g,21. 8% and105. 4% higher than CK( P < 0. 05). Different fertilization treatments effectively reduced the activities of ascorbate oxidase and polyphenol oxidase in pear-jujube. The activity of ascorbate oxidase was lowest in the treatment of 0. 6% Fe SO_4+ 0. 3% Zn SO_4( oxidized ascorbic acid0. 069 mg/( g·min) FW,75. 1% lower than CK); and the activity of polyphenol oxidase was lowest in the L3 treatment( oxidized ascorbic acid 0. 146 mg/( g·min) FW,42. 0% lower than CK). Polyphenols of pear-jujube could effectively remove hydroxyl radicals,DPPH· and hydrogen peroxide. This was more significant in L3 treatment,of which the antioxidant activity was the best.Shenglan YE 2018Asian Agricultural Research2018,10,5:2

3Dietary bamboo leaf flavonoids improve quality and microstructure of broiler meat by changing untargeted metabolome显示文摘Background Dietary bamboo leaf flavonoids(BLFs)are rarely used in poultry production, and it is unknown whether they influence meat texture profile, perceived color,or microstructure. Results A total of 720 one-day-old Arbor Acres broilers were supplemented with a basal diet with 20 mg bacitracin/kg,50 mg BLFs/kg,or 250 mg BLFs/kg or without additions.Data showed that the dietary BLFs significantly(P<0.05)changed growth performance and the texture profile. In particular,BLFs increased birds’average daily gain and average daily feed intake, decreased the feed:gain ratio and mortality rate, improved elasticity of breast meat, enhanced the gumminess of breast and leg meat, and decreased the hardness of breast meat. Moreover,a significant(P<0.05)increase in redness(a*)and chroma(c*)of breast meat and c*and water-holding capacity of leg meat was found in BLF-supplemented broilers compared with control broilers. In addition,BLFs supplementation significantly decreased(P<0.05)theβ-sheet ratio and serum malondialdehyde and increased theβ-turn ratio of protein secondary structure, superoxide dismutase, and glutathione peroxidase of breast meat and total antioxidant capacity and catalase of serum.Based on the analysis of untargeted metabolome,BLFs treatment considerably altered 14 metabolites of the breast meat, including flavonoids, amino acids, and organic acids,as well as phenolic and aromatic compounds. Conclusions Dietary BLFs supplementation could play a beneficial role in improving meat quality and sensory color in the poultry industry by changing protein secondary structures and modulating metabolites.Guangtian Cao Huixian Wang Yang Yu Fei Tao Huijuan Yang Shenglan Yang Ye Qian Hui Li Caimei Yang 2023Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2023,14,4:1

5Rules of Changes in Soil Nutrients and Enzyme Activities of Larix principis-rupprechtii in Different Forest Ages显示文摘In this study, three different ages of Larix principis-rupprechtii forests in 5,10 and 20 years were selected as the research objects, and the changes in soil nutrient and soil enzyme activities in different growth stages were analyzed. The results showed that the contents of organic matter and available phosphorus in the soil of different growth stages showed a significant downward trend with the increase of soil depth. For different forest ages in the same soil layer, the soil available phosphorus content declined with the increase of the forest age. The organic matter content of 40-60 cm in 20 years of forest age was the lowest in July, which was 4. 17 g/kg,significantly lower than that in other soil layers. Besides, the soil available phosphorus content of 5 years of forest age reached the maximum in July, with an average of 4. 44 mg/kg,which was higher than the available phosphorus content in soil in May and September, but the difference between the three months was not significant. The changes in ammonium nitrogen and nitrate nitrogen content in soil with different forest ages were consistent with the changes in the soil depth, showing a downward trend. In the new leaf stage, the ammonium nitrogen content of the L. principis-rupprechtii forest land in5 years of age at 20-40 and 40-60 cm of the soil depth was 13. 47 and 9. 09 mg/kg,respectively,which was 46. 9% and 64. 2% lower than that at 0-20 cm( 25. 36 mg/kg) of the soil depth. The soil nitrate nitrogen content of 20 years of forest age was 19. 24 mg/kg,which was25. 8% lower than that of 10 years of forest age, showing significant difference( P < 0. 05). In addition, with the increase of the age of L. principis-rupprechtii,soil catalase( CAT),alkaline phosphatase( ALP) and urease( Ure) decreased, and the decline of ALP was slow, while CAT and Ure decreased significantly. In summary,it is concluded that the soil fertility of forest land declined with the increase of forest age on the basis of change trend of soil nutrient and soil enzyme activity in the surveyed forest age.Shenglan YE Guangyu LEI 2019Asian Agricultural Research2019,11,4:1
6Impact of the national hepatitis B immunization program in China:a modeling study显示文摘Background:Elimination of hepatitis B virus(HBV)is a striking challenge for countries with high or moderate disease burden. Therefore, using China as a practical case to share experiences for similar countries may accelerate the achievement of the WHO 2030 target of 90%reduction in HBV-related incidence. We aim to evaluate the impact of national HBV immunization strategies in China;and the feasibility to achieve WHO 2030 targets under diferent scenarios. Methods:We constructed an expanded Susceptible-Exposed-Infectious-Recovered(SEIR)model and decision treeMarkov model to estimate the epidemic of HBV in China, assess the feasibility of 2030 Elimination Goals through the projections and conduct the economic analysis.Least square method was used to calibrate the expanded SEIR model by yearly data of laboratory-confrmed HBV cases from 1990 to 2018.Two models were separately used to evaluate the impact and cost-efectiveness of HBV vaccine by comparing prevalence of chronic HBV infections, qualityadjusted life-years(QALYs),incremental cost efectiveness ratio and beneft–cost ratio(BCR)under various intervention options, providing a basis for exploring new containment strategies. Results:Between 1990 and 2020,the number of chronic HBV infections decreased by 33.9%.The current status quo would lead to 55.73 million infections(3.95%prevalence)in 2030,compared to 90.63 million(6.42%prevalence)of the“Without the NIP”scenario(NIP:National Immunization Program),114.78 million(8.13%prevalence)without any interventions. The prevention of mother to child transmission(PMTCT)strategy showed a net beneft as 12,283.50 dollars per person, with BCR as 12.66,which is higher than that of universal vaccination at 9.49.Compared with no screening and no vaccination, the PMTCT strategy could save 7726.03 dollars for each QALY increase. Conclusions:Our fndings proved the HBV vaccination has demonstrated a substantial positive impact on controlling the epidemic of HBV in terms of efectiveness and economy after about 30 years of implementation of the national hepatitis B immunization program which also provided containment experience for high or medium burden countries. As for China, the next step should focus on exploring strategies to improve diagnosis and treatment coverage to reduce the burden of HBV-related deaths and ultimately eliminate HBV.Zhixi Liu Mengying Li David W.Hutton Abram L.Wagner Ye Yao Wenlong Zhu Lingsheng Cao Shenglan Tang Jinhua Pan Yesheng Wang Qi Zhao Hong Ren Ying Wang Weibing Wang 2022Infectious Diseases of Poverty2022,11,5:0
