2CHARACTERIZATION AND CAUSATION OF RUNOFF AND SEDIMENT VARIATION IN THE JIALINGJIANG RIVER BASIN显示文摘The Jialingjiang River basin is one of the main sediment contributing areas in the upper reaches of the Changjiang River. Great changes have taken place in the runoff and sediment discharge in recent years. Comparing the data of 1991-2003 with the data of 1954-1990, the annual runoff of the Jialingjiang River basin decreased by 23 %, and the suspended sediment transport decreased by 74% or 105 million tons. The main factors affecting the reduction include a decrease in rainfall, sediment detention of hydraulic structures, soil and water conservation activities, sedimentation and sand dredging in the river channel. Thorough investigation and analysis of the contribution of each factor to the sediment decrease at Beibei Station was determined for the first time. The following are the contributing percentages for each factor: a decrease in runoff accounted for 32.9%; soil and water conservation measures accounted for 16.4%; sediment detention of hydraulic structures accounted for 30.5%; sedimentation, river channel sand dredging, and other factors accounted for 20.2%. 6Regrowth-free AlGaInAs MQW polarization controller integrated with a sidewall grating DFB laser显示文摘Polarization control is at the heart of high-capacity data optical communication systems,such as polarizationdivision multiplexers and Stokes vector modulation transmitters.Despite passive polarization control being mature,the realization of monolithically integrated polarization controllers and single longitudinal mode light sources,such as distributed-feedback(DFB)lasers,is of importance.In this research,we report an AlGaInAs multiple-quantum-well photonic integrated circuit device which can control the state of polarization of the output light source,consisting of a polarization mode converter(PMC),a differential phase shifter(DPS),and a sidewall grating DFB laser.We demonstrate an asymmetrical stepped-height ridge waveguide PMC to realize TE to TM polarization conversion and a symmetrical straight waveguide DPS to enable polarization rotation from approximately counterclockwise circular polarization to linear polarization.Based on the identical epitaxial layer scheme,all the PMC,DPS,and DFB lasers can be integrated monolithically using only a single step of metalorganic vapor-phase epitaxy and two steps of III-V material dry etching.For the DFB-PMC device,a high TE to TM polarization conversion efficiency(98.4%)over a wide range of DFB injection currents is reported at 1555 nm wavelength.For the DFB-PMC-DPS device,a nearly 60°rotation of the Stokes vector on the Poincarésphere was obtained with a range of bias voltage from 0 to-3.0 V at a laser drive current of 170 mA.XIAO SUN SONG LIANG WEIQING CHENG SHENGWEI YE YIMING SUN YONGGUANG HUANG RUIKANG ZHANG JICHUAN XIONG XUEFENG LIU JOHN HMARSH LIANPING HOU 2023Photonics Research2023,11,4:0
7The application of internal suspension technique in retroperitoneal robot-assisted laparoscopic partial nephrectomy with a new robotic system KangDuo Surgical Robot-01:Initial experience显示文摘Objective To assess the feasibility of internal suspension technique in retroperitoneal robot-assisted laparoscopic partial nephrectomy(rRAPN)with a new robotic platform called KangDuo Surgical Robot-01(KD-SR-01)system(Suzhou KangDuo Robot Co.,Ltd.,Suzhou,China)and discuss its surgical technique.Methods A 44-year-old male patient was admitted with a 2.5 cm tumor on dorsolateral upper pole of the left kidney.The R.E.N.A.L.nephrometry score of this patient was 4x.This patient underwent rRAPN with KD-SR-01.The perinephric fat between the tumor and Gerota's fascia was preserved,which was used for internal suspension traction during tumor resection.Postoperative follow-up data were collected.Results The surgery was successfully carried out with a duration of 127 min,in which the docking time was 6 min 25 s and console time was 60 min.The warm ischemia time was 19 min 53 s,and the estimated blood loss was 0 mL.The pathological histology showed a pathological tumor stage 1a clear cell renal cell carcinoma,with a negative surgical margin.The World Health Organization/International Society of Urological Pathology(WHO/ISUP)grade of this patient was Grade 2.No recurrence was observed during the 6-month follow-up.Conclusion Internal suspension in rRAPN is feasible and effective with use of the new robotic system KD-SR-01.Silu Chen Shubo Fan Hua Guan Kunlin Yang Zhihua Li Shengwei Xiong Xiang Wang Zhenyu Li Cheng Shen Liqun Zhou Xuesong Li 2023Asian Journal of Urology2023,10,4:0
8Application of Lattice Boltzmann Method to Simulation of Compressible Turbulent Flow显示文摘The main goal of this paper is to develop the coupled double-distributionfunction(DDF)lattice Boltzmann method(LBM)for simulation of subsonic and transonic turbulent flows.In the present study,we adopt the second-order implicit-explicit(IMEX)Runge-Kutta schemes for time discretization and the Non-Oscillatory and NonFree-Parameters Dissipative(NND)finite difference scheme for space discretization.The Sutherland’s law is used for expressing the viscosity of the fluid due to considerable temperature change.Also,the Spalart-Allmaras(SA)turbulence model is incorporated in order for the turbulent flow effect to be pronounced.Numerical experiments are performed on different turbulent compressible flows around a NACA0012 airfoil with body-fitted grid.Our numerical results are found to be in good agreement with experiment data and/or other numerical solutions,demonstrating the applicability of the method presented in this study to simulations of both subsonic and transonic turbulent flows.Congshan Zhuo Chengwen Zhong Kai Li Shengwei Xiong Xiaopeng Chen Jun Cao 2010Communications in Computational Physics2010,8,10:0
9Programming the lifestyles of engineered bacteria for cancer therapy显示文摘Bacteria can be genetically engineered to act as therapeutic delivery vehicles in the treatment of tumors,killing cancer cells or activating the immune system.This is known as bacteria-mediated cancer therapy(BMCT).Tumor invasion,colonization and tumor regression are major biological events,which are directly associated with antitumor effects and are uncontrollable due to the influence of tumor microenvironments during the BMCT process.Here,we developed a genetic circuit for dynamically programming bacterial lifestyles(planktonic,biofilm or lysis),to precisely manipulate the process of bacterial adhesion,colonization and drug release in the BMCT process,via hierarchical modulation of the lighting power density of near-infrared(NIR)light.The deep tissue penetration of NIR offers us a modality for spatio-temporal and non-invasive control of bacterial genetic circuits in vivo.By combining computational modeling with a high-throughput characterization device,we optimized the genetic circuits in engineered bacteria to program the process of bacterial lifestyle transitions by altering the illumination scheme of NIR.Our results showed that programming intratumoral bacterial lifestyle transitions allows precise control of multiple key steps throughout the BMCT process and therapeutic efficacy can be greatly improved by controlling the localization and dosage of therapeutic agents via optimizing the illumination scheme.Shengwei Fu Rongrong Zhang Yanmei Gao Jiarui Xiong Ye Li Lu Pu Aiguo Xia Fan Jin 2023National Science Review2023,10,5:0
