1Serum uric acid and risk of incident diabetes in middle-aged and elderly Chinese adults: prospective cohort study显示文摘The association between serum uric acid and the risk of incident diabetes in Chinese adults remains unknown.This study aimed to investigate this association in a community-dwelling population aged≥40 years in Shanghai,China.Oral glucose tole3rance test was conducted during baseline and follow-up visits.Relative risk regression was utilized to examine the associations between baseline gender-specific serum uric acid levels and incident diabetes risk.A total of 613(10.3%)incident diabetes cases were identified during the follow-up visit after 4.5 years.Fasting plasma glucose,postload glucose,and glycated hemoglobin A1c during the follow-up visit progressively increased across the sex-specific quartiles of serum uric acid(all Ps<0.05).The incidence rate of diabetes increased across the quartiles of serum uric acid(7.43%,8.77%,11.47%,and 13.43%).Multivariate adjusted regression analysis revealed that individuals in the highest quartile had 1.36-fold increased risk of diabetes compared with those in the lowest quartile of serum uric acid(odds ratio(95%confidence interval)=1.36(1.06−1.73)).Stratified analysis indicated that the association was only observed in women.Accordingly,serum uric acid was associated with the increased risk of incident diabetes among middle-aged and elderly Chinese women.Di Cheng Chunyan Hu Rui Du Hongyan Qi Lin Lin Xueyan Wu Lina Ma Kui Peng Mian Li Min Xu Yu Xu Yufang Bi Weiqing Wang Yuhong Chen Jieli Lu 2020Frontiers of Medicine2020,14,6:3

5Review on formation mechanism analysis method and control strategy of urban haze in China显示文摘Due to the rapid urbanization and industrialization,and excessive consumption of fossil fuel,haze weather characterized by PM2.5 has become a severe pollution problem in major Chinese cities recently,which has harmful effect on the air quality,visibility,clime system and human health.To indicate suitable directions for the prevention and control of haze pollution,the pollutant source apportionment and formation mechanism of urban haze should be figured out firstly.In this work,we briefly review the frequently-used methods for PM2.5 source apportionment and formation mechanism analysis of urban haze based on normal perspective in recent years.Furthermore,based on the new perspective of systematic methodology,the utilization of fault tree approach for the causation mechanism analysis of urban haze is significantly introduced and discussed.Finally,the recent progress on controlling strategies of urban haze in China is also synoptically introduced and discussed.It is expected that more effective tool/method can be found,developed and employed for the causation mechanism analysis and risk management of urban haze in China.Weiqing Huang Lirong Cai Haifeng Dang Zhe Jiao Hongbo Fan Faliang Cheng 2019Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2019,27,7:1

8Regrowth-free AlGaInAs MQW polarization controller integrated with a sidewall grating DFB laser显示文摘Polarization control is at the heart of high-capacity data optical communication systems,such as polarizationdivision multiplexers and Stokes vector modulation transmitters.Despite passive polarization control being mature,the realization of monolithically integrated polarization controllers and single longitudinal mode light sources,such as distributed-feedback(DFB)lasers,is of importance.In this research,we report an AlGaInAs multiple-quantum-well photonic integrated circuit device which can control the state of polarization of the output light source,consisting of a polarization mode converter(PMC),a differential phase shifter(DPS),and a sidewall grating DFB laser.We demonstrate an asymmetrical stepped-height ridge waveguide PMC to realize TE to TM polarization conversion and a symmetrical straight waveguide DPS to enable polarization rotation from approximately counterclockwise circular polarization to linear polarization.Based on the identical epitaxial layer scheme,all the PMC,DPS,and DFB lasers can be integrated monolithically using only a single step of metalorganic vapor-phase epitaxy and two steps of III-V material dry etching.For the DFB-PMC device,a high TE to TM polarization conversion efficiency(98.4%)over a wide range of DFB injection currents is reported at 1555 nm wavelength.For the DFB-PMC-DPS device,a nearly 60°rotation of the Stokes vector on the Poincarésphere was obtained with a range of bias voltage from 0 to-3.0 V at a laser drive current of 170 mA.XIAO SUN SONG LIANG WEIQING CHENG SHENGWEI YE YIMING SUN YONGGUANG HUANG RUIKANG ZHANG JICHUAN XIONG XUEFENG LIU JOHN HMARSH LIANPING HOU 2023Photonics Research2023,11,4:0
9Boosting the energy density of aqueous MXene-based supercapacitor by integrating 3D conducting polymer hydrogel cathode显示文摘The wide-spread proliferation of aqueous MXene-based supercapacitor has been largely shadowed by the limited cell potential window(typically in the range of 0-0.6 V).To address this baffling issue,designing asymmetric supercapacitor(ASC)is proposed as a rational strategy to enlarge the potential window(thus energy density)of individual cell in aqueous electrolytes.To this date,however,it still remains a great challenge to develop easy fabricating,3D nanostructured,and pseudocapacitive cathode materials that can perfectly match with MXene anodematerials.In this work,we propose a supramolecular strategy to construct conducting polymer hydrogel(CPH)with highly interconnected 3D nanostructures and large pseudocapacitance,which can finely match with 2D Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x).The as-assembled CPH//Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) ASCwith CPH cathode and MXene anode can operate in a broadened potential window of 1.15 V in aqueous PVA/H_(2)SO_(4) gel electrolyte with remarkably improved energy density of 16.6μWh/cm^(2)(nine times higher than that of symmetric MXene supercapacitor).Additionally,this ASC exhibits outstanding cyclic stability with no trackable performance decay over 30,000 galvanostatic charge and discharge cycles.It is demonstrated in this work that employing positive CPH electrode is a feasible yet promising strategy to enhance the potential window and energy density of aqueous MXene supercapacitors.Xiang Chu Yihan Wang Lucheng Cai Haichao Huang Zhong Xu Yanting Xie Cheng Yan Qing Wang Haitao Zhang Hong Li Weiqing Yang 2022SusMat2022,2,3:0

11Physicochemical difference of coffee beans with different species,production areas and roasting degrees显示文摘In recent decades,the demand for coffee has seen a continuous increase,and the aroma and flavor of coffee has been widely studied.The current research chose coffee beans of two species(Coffea arabica and C.canephora)from five production areas(Brazil,India,Indonesia,Uganda and Vietnam)with four different roasting degrees(medium light,medium,medium dark and dark),to investigate the difference on physicochemical properties.The results showed that Arabica coffee beans had higher concentrations of fat and organic acids,and total amount of volatile compounds,whereas Robusta beans had higher concentrations of protein.With the increase of roasting degree,the concentrations of protein,fat,organic acids,and the total amount of volatile compounds of coffee beans increased,while the concentrations of chlorogenic acid compounds decreased.The discriminant analysis indicated that the tested coffee beans could be clearly discriminated by species and roasting degrees,but not by production area.The results of this research conclude the physicochemical difference of Arabica and Robusta beans with different roasting degrees.The results can provide a theoretical basis for coffee bean selection for the relevant industries.Xinrong Liu Yanan Fei Weiqing Wang Shumin Lei Chao Cheng Zhiqiang Xing 2022Beverage Plant Research2022,2,1:0
12Measuring web page complexity by analyzing TCP flows and HTTP headers显示文摘To understand website complexity deeply,a web page complexity measurement system is developed.The system measures the complexity of a web page at two levels:transport-level and content-level,using a packet trace-based approach rather than server or client logs.Packet traces surpass others in the amount of information contained.Quantitative analyses show that different categories of web pages have different complexity characteristics.Experimental results show that a news web page usually loads much more elements at more accessing levels from much more web servers within diverse administrative domains over much more concurrent transmission control protocol(TCP) flows.About more than half of education pages each only involve a few logical servers,where most of elements of a web page are fetched only from one or two logical servers.The number of content types for web game traffic after login is usually least.The system can help web page designers to design more efficient web pages,and help researchers or Internet users to know communication details.Cheng Weiqing Hu Yangyang Yin Qiaofeng Chen Jiajia 2017The Journal of China Universities of Posts and Telecommunications2017,24,6:0
