| 1 | Enhancing photocatalytic performance by constructing ultrafine TiO2 nanorods/g-C3N4 nanosheets heterojunction for water treatment显示文摘Photocatalysis is considered to be a clean, green and efficient method to purify water. In this report, we first developed a highly efficient ultrafine TiO_2 nanorods/g-C3 N4 nanosheets(TiO_2 NR/CN NS) composites via a simple hydrothermal method. Tiny TiO_2 nanorods(diameter:~1.5 nm and length:~8.3 nm) were first loaded in situ on the CN NS by adding graphitic carbon nitride(g-C3 N4) to the reaction solution.The TiO_2 NR/CN NS composites present high charge separation efficiency and broader light absorbance than P25 TiO_2. Furthermore, we illustrate that the Ti0_2 NR/CN NS catalyst possesses high performance for the photocatalytic degradation of the common and stubborn pollutants in water, such as the rhodamine B(RhB) dye and phenol. Under visible light(λ> 420 nm) irradiation, the apparent rate of the TiO_2 NR/CN NR is 172 and 41 times higher than that of the P25 TiO_2 and TiO_2 NR, respectively.Additionally, we speculated that the heterojunction formed between TiO_2 NR and CN NS, which is the basis for the experiments we have designed and the corresponding results. | 4 | Scheduling algorithm based on critical tasks in heterogeneous environments显示文摘Heterogeneous computing is one effective method of high performance computing with many advan-tages. Task scheduling is a critical issue in heterogeneous environments as well as in homogeneous environments. A number of task scheduling algorithms for homogeneous environments have been proposed, whereas, a few for heterogeneous environments can be found in the literature. A novel task scheduling algorithm for heterogeneous environments, called the heterogeneous critical task (HCT) scheduling algorithm is presented. By means of the directed acyclic graph and the gantt graph, the HCT algorithm defines the critical task and the idle time slot. After determining the critical tasks of a given task, the HCT algorithm tentatively duplicates the critical tasks onto the processor that has the given task in the idle time slot, to reduce the start time of the given task. To compare the performance of the HCT algorithm with several recently proposed algorithms, a large set of randomly generated applications and the Gaussian elimination application are randomly generated. | 14 | Dynamic antimicrobial resistant patterns of Escherichia coli from healthy poultry and swine over 10 years in Chongming Island,Shanghai显示文摘Background:Antimicrobial resistance(AMR)is one of the greatest threats to animal and public health.Here,we conducted a dynamic surveillance of Escherichia coli on Chongming Island in Shanghai during 2009-2021 to identify the characteristics and trends of Chongming’s AMR pandemic.Methods:Rectal(cloaca)swabs from four poultry and nine swine farms(Chongming Island,2009-2021)were collected for E.coli strains acquisition.The micro-broth dilution method was used to test antimicrobial susceptibility of E.coli isolates against 10 antimicrobial classes including 15 antimicrobials.Utilizing generalized linear mixed models(GLMMs)and co-occurrence analyses,we further explored the multiple-drug-resistance(MDR)combinations and dynamic patterns of E.coli over 10 years in two food animals.Results:Total of 863 MDR isolates were found among 945 collected E.coli isolates,337 from poultry and 608 from swine.Both isolates exhibited high resistant rates(>70%)to tetracyclines,phenicols,sulfonamides,penicillins,and aminoglycosides(only in swine).The resistant rates of swine isolates to penicillins,aminoglycosides,tetracyclines,phenicols,and polymyxins were significantly higher than those of poultry isolates,whereas resistance to fluoroquinolones was reversed.Resistance to polymyxins decreased similarly in swine(42.4%in 2009 to 0.0%in 2021)and poultry isolates(from 16.5%to 0.0%).However,resistance to other seven antimicrobial classes(excluding carbapenems and penicillins)declined dramatically in swine isolates,particularly fluoroquinolones(from 80.5%to 14.4%),and tendencies of resistance to the seven classes showed markedly divergent patterns in poultry isolates.Using Poisson GLMMs,the AMR carriage since 2016 was significantly lower than that of 2009(odds ratio<1),indicating a decline in the risk of MDR emergence.Furthermore,despite the highly diverse MDR profiles,co-occurrence analysis identified two prominent MDR clusters of penicillins-phenicols-fluoroquinolones in poultry and aminoglycosides-tetracyclines-sulfonamides-phenicols in swine.Conclusions:Our study uncovered vastly distinct AMR patterns and dynamic tendencies of poultry and swine E.coli isolates from Chongming.Meanwhile,Chongming’s AMR status has ameliorated,as indicated by the decline in antimicrobials prevalence(particularly in swine),lower likelihood of MDR emergence and low carbapenem-,cephalosporin-,and polymyxin resistance.Importantly,this surveillance results are the vital basis for future policy development in Chongming and Shanghai. | Chao Lv Jun Shang Wengang Zhang Bingqing Sun Min Li Chaoyi Guo Nan Zhou Xiaokui Guo Shixin Huang Yongzhang Zhu | 2022 | Infectious Diseases of Poverty2022,11,5: | 0 |
| 15 | Quantitative Gas-in-place Comparison of Original and Bitumen-free Lacustrine Shale显示文摘Residual bitumen in organic-rich shale of oil windows exists widely, and its effect on the gas storage capacity of shale could be two-fold. Bitumen could occupy and block the nanopores of shale, thereby reducing the gas storage capacity. On the other hand, gas could be dissolved in bitumen in shale gas reservoirs, leading to enhanced gas storage capacity. To quantify the effect of bitumen on the gas-in-place(GIP) estimation of lacustrine organic-rich shale, the micropore characteristics and methane sorption capacity of original and bitumen-free shale from the Triassic Yangchang Formation of the Ordos Basin, combined with the methane dissolution capacity for the isolated bitumen, were analyzed and compared. GIP for the original and bitumen-free shale in the depth range of 500–2500 m was evaluated. The results show that micropores in the shale samples were mainly related to organic matter. Clay mineral-hosted pores contributed slightly to microporosity. Bitumen significantly reduced the micropore surface area and volume of the original shale, with average percentages of 28.09% and 51.26%, respectively. The methane sorption capacity decreased after bitumen removal. When normalized to the original shale mass, the sum of the methane sorption capacity for bitumen-free shale and the methane dissolution capacity for isolated bitumen was similar to the methane sorption capacity of the original shale, indicating that the lack of methane absorbed on bitumen is the main reason for the decrease in methane sorption capacity after bitumen removal. The contribution of absorbed methane on bitumen to sorbed methane in shale could be higher than 36.23%. Dual effects of bitumen on shale GIP were observed.
