1AUTHENTICATED SYMMETRIC-KEY ESTABLISHMENT FOR MEDICAL BODY SENSOR NETWORKS显示文摘This study concerns security issues of the emerging Wireless Body Sensor Network (WBSN) formed by biomedical sensors worn on or implanted in the human body for mobile healthcare appli-cations. A novel authenticated symmetric-key establishment scheme is proposed for WBSN,which fully exploits the physiological features obtained by network entities via the body channel available in WBSN but not other wireless networks. The self-defined Intrinsic Shared Secret (ISS) is used to replace the pre-deployment of secrets among network entities,which thus eliminates centralized services or au-thorities essential in existing protocols,and resolves the key transport problem in the pure symmet-ric-key cryptosystem for WBSN as well. The security properties of the proposed scheme are demon-strated in terms of its attack complexity and the types of attacks it can resist. Besides,the scheme can be implemented under a light-weight way in WBSN systems. Due to the importance of the ISS concept,the analysis on using false acceptance/false rejection method to evaluate the performance of ISS for its usage in the scheme is also demonstrated.Bao Shudi Poon Carmen C.Y. 2Disentangling the factors that contribute to variation in forest biomass increments in the mid-subtropical forests of China显示文摘Mid-subtropical forests are the main vegetation type of global terrestrial biomes, and are critical for maintaining the global carbon balance. However, estimates of forest biomass increment in mid-subtropical forests remain highly uncertain. It is critically important to determine the relative importance of different biotic and abiotic factors between plants and soil, particularly with respect to their influence on plant regrowth. Consequently,it is necessary to quantitatively characterize the dynamicspatiotemporal distribution of forest carbon sinks at a regional scale. This study used a large, long-term dataset in a boosted regression tree(BRT) model to determine the major components that quantitatively control forest biomass increments in a mid-subtropical forested region(Wuyishan National Nature Reserve, China). Long-term,stand-level data were used to derive the forest biomass increment, with the BRT model being applied to quantify the relative contributions of various biotic and abiotic variables to forest biomass increment. Our data show that total biomass(t) increased from 4.62 9 106 to 5.30 9 106 t between 1988 and 2010, and that the mean biomass increased from 80.19 ± 0.39 t ha-1(mean ± standard error) to 94.33 ± 0.41 t ha-1in the study region. The major factors that controlled biomass(in decreasing order of importance) were the stand, topography, and soil. Stand density was initially the most important stand factor, while elevation was the most important topographic factor. Soil factors were important for forest biomass increment but have a much weaker influence compared to the other two controlling factors. 3Sub-micrometer-scale chemical analysis by nanosecond-laser-induced tip-enhanced ablation and ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry显示文摘The tip-enhanced near-field technique has drawn great attention recently becauseit is a promising technique for nanoscale chemical analysis when combined withother spectroscopic methods. Furthermore, this integration can improve the spatialresolution of mass spectrometry. In this stud~ a nanosecond-laser (nsqaser)-inducedtip-enhanced ablation and ionization source was coupled to an in-house-builtlaser ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometer. Sub-micrometer-sized craters(with diameters of 200-300 nm) were observed on titanium (Ti) film coated ontoa gold (Au) substrate. The corresponding mass spectra were acquired, whichverified that sub-micrometer-sized ablation (and subsequently ionization) couldbe achieved by the ns-laser-induced tip-enhanced electromagnetic field. Inaddition, formation of the crater was studied with an increased number of laserpulses. 4Generating high spatiotemporal resolution LAI based on MODIS/GF-1 data and combined Kriging-Cressman interpolation显示文摘Generation of high spatial and temporal resolution LAI(leaf area index)products is challenging because higher spatial resolution remotely sensed data usually have coarse temporal resolutions and vice versa.In this study,a novel method that combining Kriging interpolation and Cressman interpolation was proposed to generate high spatial and temporal resolution LAI products by fusing Moderate Resolution Imaging SpectroRadiometer(MODIS)characterized by coarse spatial resolution and high temporal resolution and Gaofen-1(GF-1)with fine spatial resolution and coarse temporal resolution.This method was applied to the Huangpu district of Guangzhou,Guangdong,China.The results showed that compared to field observation,the predicted values of LAI had an acceptable accuracy of 73.12%.Using Moran’s I index and Kolmogorov-Smirnov tests,it was found that the MODIS data were spatially auto-correlated and characterized by normal distributions.Scaling down the 1 km×1 km spatial resolution MODIS products to a spatial resolution of 30 m×30 m using point-Kriging resulted in a precision of 79.38%compared to the results at the same spatial resolution derived from an 8 m×8 m spatial resolution GF-1 image by scaling up using block-Kriging.Moreover,the regression models that accounts for the relationship between NDVI(Normalized Difference Vegetation Index)and LAI based on MODIS data obtained the determination coefficients ranging from 0.833 to 0.870.Finally,the data fusion and interpolation of MODIS and GF-1 data using Cressman method generated high spatial and temporal resolution LAI maps,which showed reasonably spatial and temporal variability.The results imply that the proposed method is a powerful tool to create high spatial and temporal resolution LAI products.Liu Zhenhua Huang Rugen Hu Yueming Fan Shudi Feng Peihua 2016International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2016,9,5:3
5Variations in the biomass of Eucalyptus plantations at a regional scale in Southern China显示文摘We quantified deviations in regional forest biomass from simple extrapolation of plot data by the biomass expansion factor method(BEF) versus estimates obtained from a local biomass model,based on large-scale empirical field inventory sampling data.The sources and relative contributions of deviations between the two models were analyzed by the boosted regression trees method.Relative to the local model,BEF overestimated accumulative biomass by 22.12%.The predominant sources of the total deviation (70.94%) were stand-structure variables.Stand age and diameter at breast height are the major factors.Compared with biotic variables,abiotic variables had a smaller overall contribution (29.06%),with elevation and soil depth being the most important among the examined abiotic factors.Large deviations in regional forest biomass and carbon stock estimates are likely to be obtained with BEF relative to estimates based on local data.To minimize deviations,stand age and elevation should be included in regional forest-biomass estimation.Quanyi Qiu Guoliang Yun Shudi Zuo Jing Yan Lizhong Hua Yin Ren Jianfeng Tang Yaying Li Qi Chen 2018Journal of Forestry Research2018,29,5:2
6The fabrication of homogeneous perovskite films on non-wetting interfaces enabled by physical modification显示文摘Conjugated polymers are commonly used as effective hole transport materials(HTMs) for preparation of high-performance perovskite solar cells. However, the hydrophobic nature of these materials renders it difficult to deposit photovoltaic perovskite layers on top via solution processing. In this article, we report a generic surface modification strategy that enables the deposition of uniform and dense perovskite films on top of non-wetting interfaces. In contrast to the previous proposed chemical modifications which might alter the optoelectronic properties of the interfacial layers, we realized a nondestructive surface modification enabled by introducing a layer of insulating mesoporous aluminum oxide(Al2O3). The surface energies of the typical non-wetting hole-transport layers(PTAA, P3 HT, and Poly-TPD) were significantly reduced by the Al2O3 modification. Benefiting from the intact optoelectronic properties of the HTMs, perovskite solar cells deposited on these interface materials show full open-circuit voltages( V OC) with high fill factors(FF) up to 80%. 8FACS-iChip:a high-efficiency iChip system for microbial‘dark matter’mining显示文摘The isolation chip method(iChip)provides a novel approach for culturing previously uncultivable microorganisms;this method is currently limited by the user being unable to ensure single-cell loading within individual wells.To address this limitation,we integrated flow cytometry-based fluorescence-activated cell sorting with a modified iChip(FACS-iChip)to effectively mine microbial dark matter in soils.This method was used for paddy soils with the aim of mining uncultivable microorganisms and making preliminary comparisons between the cultured microorganisms and the bulk soil via 16S rRNA gene sequencing.Results showed that the FACS-iChip achieved a culture recovery rate of almost 40%and a culture retrieval rate of 25%.Although nearly 500 strains were cultured from 19 genera with 8 FACS-iChip plates,only six genera could be identified via 16S rRNA gene amplification.This result suggests that the FACS-iChip is capable of detecting strains in the currently dead spaces of PCR-based sequencing technology.We,therefore,conclude that the FACS-iChip system provides a highly efficient and readily available approach for microbial‘dark matter’mining.Haoze Liu Ran Xue Yiling Wang Erinne Stirling Shudi Ye Jianming Xu Bin Ma 2021Marine Life Science & Technology2021,3,2:1
9Identification of candidate genes controlling fiber quality traits in upland cotton through integration of meta-QTL,significant SNP and transcriptomic data显示文摘Background:Meta-analysis of quantitative trait locus(QTL)is a computational technique to identify consensus QTL and refine QTL positions on the consensus map from multiple mapping studies.The combination of meta-QTL intervals,significant SNPs and transcriptome analysis has been widely used to identify candidate genes in various plants.Results:In our study,884 QTLs associated with cotton fiber quality traits from 12 studies were used for meta-QTL analysis based on reference genome TM-1,as a result,74 meta-QTLs were identified,including 19 meta-QTLs for fiber length;18 meta-QTLs for fiber strength;11 meta-QTLs for fiber uniformity;11 meta-QTLs for fiber elongation;and 15 meta-QTLs for micronaire.Combined with 8589 significant single nucleotide polymorphisms associated with fiber quality traits collected from 15 studies,297 candidate genes were identified in the meta-QTL intervals,20 of which showed high expression levels specifically in the developing fibers.According to the function annotations,some of the 20 key candidate genes are associated with the fiber development.Conclusions:This study provides not only stable QTLs used for marker-assisted selection,but also candidate genes to uncover the molecular mechanisms for cotton fiber development.XU Shudi PAN Zhenyuan YIN Feifan YANG Qingyong LIN Zhongxu WEN Tianwang ZHU Longfu ZHANG Dawei NIE Xinhui 2020Journal of Cotton Research2020,3,4:1

16Biopolymer passivation for high-performance perovskite solar cells by blade coating显示文摘Thin films of perovskite deposited from solution inevitably introduce large number of defects,which serve as recombination centers and are detrimental for solar cell performance.Although many small molecules and polymers have been delicately designed to migrate defects of perovskite films,exploiting credible passivation agents based on natural materials would offer an alternative approach.Here,an ecofriendly and cost-effective biomaterial,ploy-L-lysine(PLL),is identified to effectively passivate the defects of perovskite films prepared by blade-coating.It is found that incorporation of a small amount(2.5 mg mL^(-1))of PLL significantly boosts the performance of printed devices,yielding a high efficiency of 19.45% with an increase in open-circuit voltage by up to 100 mV.Density functional theory calculations combined with X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy reveal that the functional groups(-NH2,-COOH)of PLL effectively migrate the Pb-I antisite defects via Pb-N coordination and suppress the formation of metallic Pb in the blade-coated perovskite film.This work suggests a viable avenue to exploit passivation agents from natural materials for preparation of high-quality perovskite layers for optoelectronic applications.Shudi Qiu Xin Xu Linxiang Zeng Zhen Wang Yijun Chen Culling Zhang Chaohui Li Jinlong Hu Tingting Shi Yaohua Mai Fei Guo 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,3:1

18Halophyte Vegetation Influences Soil Microbial Community of Coastal Salt Marsh显示文摘Coastal wetlands are the most productive ecosystems worldwide and can provide important ecosystem services,yet the characteristics of microbial community within these systems remain poorly understood.Microbial community of salt marsh vegetation and the associated soil physio-chemical properties were investigated in this study.Three typical Suaeda australis,Phragmites australis,Spartina alterniflora wetlands,and non-vegetated bare mudflats in the Zhoushan Islands were studied to advance the understanding of the characteristics of soil bacterial communities in coastal wetlands.Results showed that the bare mudflats exhibited high pH value and soil moisture content compared with the vegetated samples.In different vegetation types,the organic matter content,total nitrogen,and total potassium content decreased in the order:S.alterniflora wetland>P.australis wetland>S.australis wetland,and there was no obvious difference in total phosphorous content.The halophytes could decrease soil salinity compared with bare mudflats.Proteobacteria,Nitrospinae,Bacteroidetes,Acidobacteria,and Nitrospirae were the predominant level across all samples.Functional prediction showed that SPA-covered soil might play vital roles in sulphur cycling,while SUA and PHR covered soils were involved in nitrogen cycling.This study could provide the first insight into the microbial community of this study area and contribute to a better understanding of vegetation microbiota and bioremediation in coastal wetland ecosystem.GU Chen SHI Jiyan RUI Jianliang YU Yanming HUANG Weibin LU Zhinai CHEN Yao CHEN Xiaojun DONG Shudi HU Zhijun YE Chenghua 2022Journal of Ocean University of China2022,21,6:1
