3Mechanism of stall and surge in a centrifugal compressor with a variable vaned diffuser显示文摘To expand the stable operating range of compressors, understanding the mechanism of flow instability at low flow rates is necessary. In this paper, the mechanism of stall and surge in a centrifugal compressor with a variable vaned diffuser is experimentally investigated, where the diffuser blade setting angle can be adjusted. Many dynamic pressure transducers are mounted on the casing surface of the compressor. From the design condition to surge, dynamic pressure data is recorded throughout the gradual process. According to the signal developing status, the typical modes of compressor instability are defined in detail, such as stall, mild surge, and deep surge. A relatively high-frequency stall wave originates in the impeller and propagates to the diffuser, and finally stimulates a deep surge in the compressor. The compressor behavior during surge differs at different diffuser vane angles. When the diffuser vane angle is adjusted, both the unstable form and the core factor affecting the overall machine stability change. 4Applicability of five models to simulate water infiltration into soil with added biochar显示文摘As a soil amendment, biochar can reduce soil bulk density, increase soil porosity, and alter soil aggregates and thus affect the infiltration. Researchers have proposed and revised several theoretical models to describe the process of soil infiltration. Although these models have been successfully used to evaluate the soil infiltration in different scenarios in agricultural fields, little effort has been devoted to assess their performances in arid and semi-arid soils after the addition of biochar. A laboratory experiment was performed to study the infiltration characteristics of two typical Loess Plateau soils at three particle sizes(2–1, 1–0.25, and <0.25 mm) and five biochar application amounts(0, 10, 50, 100, and 150 g/kg). The performance of five models(i.e., the Philip model, Kostiakov model, Mezencev model, USDA-NRCS model, and Horton model) in simulating the infiltration process was then evaluated based on the adjusted coefficient of determination and a reduced Chi-Square test. Results indicated that the Horton model best simulated the water-infiltration process in an aeolian sandy soil with added biochar. However, the Mezencev model best simulated the infiltration process in a loamy clay soil(Eum-Orthic Anthrosol). The three-parameter model, i.e., Mezencev and Horton models can better describe the relationship between cumulative infiltration and infiltration time. 5Phytochrome B interacts with SWC6 and ARP6 to regulate H2A.Z deposition and photomorphogensis in Arabidopsis显示文摘Light serves as a crucial environmental cue which modulates plant growth and development, and which is controlled by multiple photoreceptors including the primary red light photoreceptor,phytochrome B(phyB). The signaling mechanism of phyB involves direct interactions with a group of basic helix-loop-helix(bHLH) transcription factors, PHYTOCHROME-INTERACTING FACTORS(PIFs), and the negative regulators of photomorphogenesis, COP1 and SPAs. H2 A.Z is an evolutionarily conserved H2 A variant which plays essential roles in transcriptional regulation. The replacement of H2 A with H2 A.Z is catalyzed by the SWR1 complex. Here, we show that the Pfr form of phyB physically interacts with the SWR1 complex subunits SWC6 and ARP6. phyB and ARP6 coregulate numerous genes in the same direction,some of which are associated with auxin biosynthesis and response including YUC9, which encodes a rate-limiting enzyme in the tryptophandependent auxin biosynthesis pathway. Moreover,phyB and HY5/HYH act to inhibit hypocotyl elongation partially through repression of auxin biosynthesis. 6A review of soil nematodes as biological indicators for the assessment of soil health显示文摘Healthy soils are essential for sustainableagricultural development and soil health requires carefulassessment with increasing societal concern over envir-onmentally friendly agricultural development. Soil healthis the capacity of soil to function within ecologicalboundaries to sustain productivity, maintain environmentalquality, and promote plant and animal health. Physical,chemical and biological indicators are used to evaluate soilhealth;the biological indicators include microbes, proto-zoa and metazoa. Nematodes are the most abundantmetazoa and they vary in their sensitivity to pollutants andenvironmental disturbance. Soil nematode communitiesare useful biological indicators of soil health, withcommunity characteristics such as abundance, diversity,community structure and metabolic footprint all closelycorrelated with the soil environment. The community size,complexity and structure reflect the condition of the soil.Both free-living and plant parasitic nematodes are effec-tive ecological indicators, contributing to nutrient cyclingand having important roles as primary, secondary andtertiary consumers in food webs. Tillage inversion,cropping patterns and nutrient management may havestrong effects on soil nematodes, with changes in soilnematode communities reflecting soil disturbance. 7Facile Fabrication of Cellulosic Paper-based Composites with Temperature-controlled Hydrophobicity and Excellent Mechanical Strength显示文摘In this paper,we presented a novel strategy to employ a plantderived carbohydrate polymer,i.e.,cellulose,to prepare a hydrophobic composite.Cellulose was used as a scaffold,and ethylene-propylene side by side(ES)fiber was thermally melted and then coated on the cellulose surface to achieve hydrophobicity.Experimental results revealed that the thermocoating ES fibers greatly increased the water contact angle of the cellulose scaffold from 25°to 153°while simultaneously enhanced the wet tensile strength of the composite approximately 6.7-fold(drying temperature of 170℃)compared with the pure cellulose paper.In particular,compared with other related research,the prepared cellulose-based composite possessed excellent hydrophobicity and superior mechanical strength,which introduces a new chemical engineering approach to prepare hydrophobic cellulose-based functional materials.Tongtong Yun Yilin Wang Jie Lu Yi Cheng Yanna Lyu Haisong Wang 2020Paper And Biomaterials2020,5,2:6
8Efficacy and safety of duloxetine in Chinese breast cancer patients with paclitaxel-induced peripheral neuropathy显示文摘Objective: Chemotherapy with paclitaxel is associated with significant neurotoxicity that may offset patients' quality of life and therapeutic benefits. This prospective, non-randomized control study evaluated the efficacy and safety of an antidepressant drug, duloxetine, at 30 or 60 mg/d, in the treatment of paclitaxel-induced peripheral neuropathy(PIPN) in Chinese breast cancer patients.Methods:A total of 102 patients with a median age of 50(range,25–60)years,treated in the Department of Medical Oncology,National Cancer Center/Cancer Hospital,Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and Peking Union Medical College,between November 2014 and January 2017 were finally enrolled.Stratified by baseline characteristics,the patients were classified into two groups,receiving either duloxetine or alternative antineurotoxicity drugs.During the course of the paclitaxel regimen,the eligibility criteria included sensory neuropathy,as evaluated by the National Cancer Institute-Common Toxicity Criteria for Adverse Events.The treatment consisted of receiving 30 mg duloxetine(for the first 4 weeks)and 60 mg duloxetine for an additional 8 weeks,or any other anti-neurotoxicity drug daily during the same crossover period.The improvement associated with PIPN from the patient’s perspective were assessed by the Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Taxane(FACT-Tax)Scales,which contained questions scored from 0 to 4(0,not at all;4,very much;total score range,0–44).Results:Duloxetine was more effective in decreasing PIPN(odds ratio=5.426;95%confidence interval,1.898–15.514;P=0.002).Between duloxetine group and control group,the median(25th–75th percentiles)decreasing difference in the FACT-Tax pain score was 4(2–6)vs.1(0–4)(P=0.005).Conclusions:Duloxetine is a promising and safe option with tolerable toxicity at a dose of 60 mg/d for Chinese breast cancer patients with PIPN.Non-neuropathy adverse events were mild and similar in both groups.The major toxicities of duloxetine included nausea,constipation,somnolence,dizziness and distention of the eyes.Further examination of the benefits of duloxetine in the prevention of PIPN is required.Jiani Wang Qing Li Binghe Xu Tongtong Zhang Shanshan Chen Yang Luo 2017Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2017,29,5:5
9Bimetallic Nickel Cobalt Sulfide as E cient Electrocatalyst for Zn–Air Battery and Water Splitting显示文摘The development of e cient earth-abundant electrocatalysts for oxygen reduction, oxygen evolution, and hydrogen evolution reactions(ORR, OER, and HER) is important for future energy conversion and energy storage devices, for which both rechargeable Zn–air batteries and water splitting have raised great expectations. Herein, we report a single-phase bimetallic nickel cobalt sulfide((Ni,Co)S_2) as an e cient electrocatalyst for both OER and ORR. Owing to the synergistic combination of Ni and Co, the(Ni,Co)S_2 exhibits superior electrocatalytic performance for ORR, OER, and HER in an alkaline electrolyte, and the first principle calculation results indicate that the reaction of an adsorbed O atom with a H_2O molecule to form a *OOH is the potential limiting step in the OER. Importantly, it could be utilized as an advanced air electrode material in Zn–air batteries, which shows an enhanced charge–discharge performance(charging voltage of 1.71 V and discharge voltage of 1.26 V at 2 mA cm^(-2)), large specific capacity(842 mAh g_(Zn)^(-1) at 5 mA cm^(-2)), and excellent cycling stability(480 h). Interestingly, the(Ni,Co)S_2-based Zn–air battery can e ciently power an electrochemical water-splitting unit with(Ni,Co)S_2 serving as both the electrodes. 10Sub-micrometer-scale chemical analysis by nanosecond-laser-induced tip-enhanced ablation and ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry显示文摘The tip-enhanced near-field technique has drawn great attention recently becauseit is a promising technique for nanoscale chemical analysis when combined withother spectroscopic methods. Furthermore, this integration can improve the spatialresolution of mass spectrometry. In this stud~ a nanosecond-laser (nsqaser)-inducedtip-enhanced ablation and ionization source was coupled to an in-house-builtlaser ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometer. Sub-micrometer-sized craters(with diameters of 200-300 nm) were observed on titanium (Ti) film coated ontoa gold (Au) substrate. The corresponding mass spectra were acquired, whichverified that sub-micrometer-sized ablation (and subsequently ionization) couldbe achieved by the ns-laser-induced tip-enhanced electromagnetic field. Inaddition, formation of the crater was studied with an increased number of laserpulses. 11Transition-metal-doped NiSe2 nanosheets towards efficient hydrogen evolution reactions显示文摘Transition metal diselenides are promising electrocatalysts for hydrogenevolution and therefore different approaches have been proposed to enhancetheir catalytic activity. Herein, we describe systematic studies of the dependenceof transition-metal doping on the catalytic activity of NiSe2 by first principlescalculations, where Fe is demonstrated to be the best candidate element to tunethe electrocatalytic activity of NiSe2 with lower AGH. values and increasedelectrical conductivity. To provide further experimental evidence, Fe-dopedNiSe2 porous nanosheets grown on carbon cloth are successfully developed.These nanosheets show significantly improved efficiency for hydrogen evolutionreactions compared to their un-doped counterpart. The optimized Ni0.sFe0.2Se2electrocatalyst gives rise to a current density of 10 mA.cm-2 at a very lowoverpotential of 64 mV with outstanding long-term stability. 12Dose-dense paclitaxel plus carboplatin vs.epirubicin and cyclophosphamide with paclitaxel as adjuvant chemotherapy for high-risk triple-negative breast cancer显示文摘Objective:The objective of this open-label,randomized study was to compare dose-dense paclitaxel plus carboplatin(PCdd)with dose-dense epirubicin and cyclophosphamide followed by paclitaxel(ECdd-P)as an adjuvant chemotherapy for early triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC).Methods:We included Chinese patients with high recurrence risk TNBC who underwent primary breast cancer surgery.They were randomly assigned to receive PCdd[paclitaxel 150 mg/m2 on d 1 and carboplatin,the area under the curve,(AUC)=3 on d 2]or ECdd-P(epirubicin 80 mg/m2 divided in 2 d and cyclophosphamide 600 mg/m2 on d 1 for 4 cycles followed by paclitaxel 175 mg/m2 on d 1 for 4 cycles)every 2 weeks with granulocyte colony-stimulating factor(G-CSF)support.The primary endpoint was 3-year disease-free survival(DFS);the secondary endpoints were overall survival(OS)and safety.Results:The intent-to-treat population included 143 patients(70 in the PCdd arm and 73 in the ECdd-P arm).Compared with the ECdd-P arm,the PCdd arm had significantly higher 3-year DFS[93.9%vs.79.1%;hazard ratio(HR)=0.310;95%confidence interval(95%CI),0.137-0.704;log-rank,P=0.005]and OS(98.5%vs.92.9%;HR=0.142;95%CI,0.060-0.825;log-rank,P=0.028).Worse neutropenia(grade 3/4)was found in the ECdd-P than the PCdd arm(47.9%V5.21.4%,P=0.001).Conclusions:PCdd was superior to ECdd-P as an adjuvant chemotherapy for early TNBC with respect to improving the 3-year DFS and OS.PCdd also yielded lower hematological toxicity.Thus,PCdd might be a preferred regimen for early TNBC patients with a high recurrence risk.Qing Li Jiani Wang Yuxin Mu Tongtong Zhang Ying Han Jiayu Wang Qiao Li Yang Luo Fei Ma Ying Fan Pin Zhang Binghe Xulj 2020Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2020,32,4:4

14Homogeneous PLGA-lipid nanoparticle as a promising oral vaccine delivery system for ovalbumin显示文摘In this study,a polymeric lipid nanoparticle(NP)(simplified as Lipid NP)was reported as a promising oral vaccine delivery system.The Lipid NPs composed of a hydrophobic polymeric poly(D,L-lactide-co-glycolide)(PLGA)core and a surface coating of lipid monolayer.Membrane emulsification technique was used to obtain uniform-sized Lipid NPs.Ovalbumin(OVA)was used as a model vaccine.Compared with the pure PLGA NPs,the Lipid NPs achieved higher loading capacity(LC)and entrapment efficiency(EE)for the encapsulated OVA.An in vitro oral release profile showed that the OVA-Lipid NPs were with lower initial burst and could protect the loaded OVA from the harsh gastrointestinal(GI)environment for a long time.In addition,a human microfold cell(M-cell)transcytotic assay demonstrated that due to a lipid layer structure on the particle surface,the Lipid NPs showed higher affinity to the M-cells.Since the M-cell in the intestinal epithelium played an important role in particle transportation as well as intimately associated with the underlying immune cells,the OVA-Lipid NPs effectively induced mucosal and humoral immune responses.Tongtong Ma Lianyan Wang Tingyuan Yang Guanghui Ma Siling Wang 2014Asian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences2014,9,3:4
15Survival difference between EGFR Del19 and L858R mutant advanced non-small cell lung cancer patients receiving gefitinib:a propensity score matching analysis显示文摘Objective: Although superior clinical benefits of epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR) tyrosine kinase inhibitors(TKIs) in the treatment of advanced non-small-cell lung cancer(NSCLC) had been reported,the survival difference between exon 19 deletion(Del19) and exon 21 Leu858 Arg substitution(L858 R) remains controversial.The purpose of this study is to investigate the differences in progression-free survival(PFS) and overall survival(OS) between different EGFR mutant subtypes among advanced NSCLC patients receiving gefitinib.Methods: There were 204 advanced NSCLC patients with EGFR mutations treated with gefitinib were enrolled in this retrospective cohort study.Patients were divided into the EGFR Del19 group and the L858 R mutated group according to their mutant subtype.Propensity score matching(PSM) was conducted by using a nearest-neighbor algorithm(1:1) to adjust for demographical and clinical covariates.Survival curves were constructed with the Kaplan-Meier method and compared by using the log-rank test.Results: The PFS in Del19 group was similar to that in the L858 R group [before PSM 8.6 vs.7.2 months,P=0.072; after PSM 7.3 vs.7.2 months,P=0.155].No differences were detected in OS between the L858 R and the Del19 group(before PSM 17.8 vs.13.1 months,P=0.253; after PSM 16.9 vs.13.1 months,P=0.339).The Del19 group was significantly younger compared with the L858 R mutation group in age(P=0.015).Conclusions: No significant difference was found in the PFS or OS between the Del19 and L858 R mutant NSCLC patients receiving gefitinib.The age gap might contribute to the survival differences between Del19 and L858 R groups.PSM is of important value to the elimination of potential bias.Minglei Zhuo Qiwen Zheng Jun Zhao Meina Wu Tongtong An Yuyan Wang Jianjie Li Shuhang Wang Jia Zhong Xue Yang Hanxiao Chen Bo Jia Zhi Dong Emei Gao JingjingWang Ziping Wang 2017Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2017,29,6:4

17Enhanced adsorptive removal of Cr(VI)in aqueous solution by polyethyleneimine modified palygorskite显示文摘Polyethyleneimine(PEI)modified palygorskite(Pal)was used for the adsorption of Cr(VI)in aqueous solution.The absorbent was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR)and thermogravimetric analysis(TGA).Characterized results confirmed that the Pal has been successfully modified by PEI.The modification of PEI increased the Cr(VI)adsorption performance of the Pal by the adsorption combined reduction mechanism,and amino groups of the adsorbent play the main role in the enhanced Cr(VI)adsorption.The maximum adsorption capacity was 51.10 mg·g^-1 at pH4.0 and 25°C.The adsorption kinetics of Cr(VI)on the adsorbent conforms to the Langmuir isotherm model.The maximum adsorption occurs at pH3,and then the adsorption capacity of PEI-Pal was decreased with the increase of p H values.The adsorption kinetics of Cr(VI)on PEI-Pal was modeled with pseudo-second-order model.The addition of Cl^-,SO4^2-and PO4^3-reduced the Cr(VI)adsorption by competition with Cr(VI)for the active sites of PEI-Pal.The Cr(VI)saturated PEI-Pal can be regenerated in alkaline solution,and the adsorption capacity can still be maintained at 30.44 mg·g^-1 after 4 cycles.The results demonstrate that PEI-Pal can be used as a potential adsorbent of Cr(VI)in aqueous solutions.Jiahong Wang Tongtong Sun Atif Saleem Yao Chen 2020Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2020,28,10:3
18Systematic degradation mechanism and pathways analysis of the immobilized bacteria:Permeability and biodegradation,kinetic and molecular simulation显示文摘In order to effectively improve the degradation rate of diesel,a systematic analysis of the degradation mechanism used by immobilized bacteria is necessary.In the present study,diesel degradation mechanisms were assessed by analyzing permeability,biodegradation,adsorption kinetics,and molecular simulation.We found that bacteria immobilized on cinnamon shells and peanut shells degraded relatively high amounts of diesel(69.94%and 64.41%,respectively).The primary degradation pathways used by immobilized bacteria included surface adsorption,internal uptake,and biodegradation.Surface adsorption was dominant in the early stage of degradation,whereas biodegradation was dominant in later stages.The diesel adsorption rate of the immobilized bacteria was in agreement with the pseudo second-order kinetic model.The immobilized bacteria and diesel interacted through hydrogen bonds.Xinge Fu Huajun Wang Yu Bai Jianliang Xue Yu Gao Shugang Hu Tongtong Wu Jingkuan Sun 2020Environmental Science and Ecotechnology2020,,2:3
19A bifunctional and recyclable catalyst:Amine and ionic liquid grafting on MOFs for the one-pot synthesis of N-aryl oxazolidin-2-ones显示文摘A bifunctional heterogeneous catalyst was designed and synthesized,denoted DMEDA/IL–NH2-MIL-101.The structure and physical-chemical characterization of DMEDA/IL–NH2-MIL-101 and its precursors were characterized by SEM,N2 adsorption-desorption,XPS,FT-IR,PXRD,elemental analysis,and TGA techniques.The date showed that the two catalytic components of N,N-dimethylethylenediamine(DMEDA)and 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium bromide(BmimBr)were chemically immobilized in NH2-MIL-101 nanocages.The amine of DMEDA was grafted onto carrier NH2-MIL-101 by N–Cr coordinate covalent bonds and the ionic liquid of BmimBr(IL(Br-))was anchored in the NH2-MIL-101 nanocages by'ship-in-a-bottle'method,in which the amidogen of NH2-MIL-101 condensed with N,N-carbonyldiimidazole(CDI)firstly,and then alkylated with 1-bromo butane.This novel heterogeneous catalyst with two different active sites can efficiently catalyze the synthesis of N-aryl oxazolidin-2-ones from carbon dioxide(CO2),epoxides,and anilines in one-pot under mild solvent-free conditions.It not only showed good stability and recoverability after five cycles but also exhibited shape selectivity for the substrate due to the synergic catalysis of amine,ionic liquid,and NH2-MIL-101.This novel bifunctional material is a promising solid catalyst for the green synthesis of N-aryl oxazolidin-2-ones.Siying Chong Tongtong Wang Haijun Zhong Lingfei Xu Hailong Xu Zhongwu Lv Min Ji 2020Green Energy & Environment2020,5,2:3
20A phase I study of nimotuzumab plus docetaxel in chemotherapy- refractory/resistant patients with advanced non-small-cell lung cancer显示文摘Background: To determine the safety and therapeutic efficacy of nimotuzumab(h-R3) combined with docetaxel in advanced non-small-cell lung cancer(NSCLC) patients who have failed to respond to prior first-line chemotherapy.Methods: In this single-center, open-label, dose-escalating phase I trial, patients with epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR)-expressing stage IV NSCLC were treated with nimotuzumab plus docetaxel according to a dose escalation schedule. The safety and efficacy of the combination treatment were observed and analyzed.Results: There were 12 patients with EGFR-expressing stage IV NSCLC enrolled. The dose of nimotuzumab was escalated from 200 to 600 mg/week. The longest administration of study drug was 40 weeks at the 600 mg/week dose level. Grade III–IV toxicities included neutropenia and fatigue, and other toxicities included rash. Dose-limiting toxicity occurred with Grade 3 fatigue at the 200 mg dose level of nimotuzumab and Grade 4 neutropenia with pneumonia at the 600 mg dose level of nimotuzumab. No objective responses were observed, and stable disease was observed in eight patients(66.7%). The median progression-free survival(PFS) was 4.4 months in all patients, 1.3 months in patients with the EGFR mutation, and 4.4 months in those with wild type EGFR(EGFR WT). The median survival time(MST) was 21.1 months in all patients, 21.1 months in patients with EGFR mutation, and 26.4 months in patients with EGFR WT.Conclusions: Nimotuzumab and docetaxel combination therapy was found to be well tolerated and efficacious.
