1Terrestrial carbon sinks in China and around the world and their contribution to carbon neutrality显示文摘Enhancing the terrestrial ecosystem carbon sink(referred to as terrestrial C sink) is an important way to slow down the continuous increase in atmospheric carbon dioxide(CO_(2)) concentration and to achieve carbon neutrality target.To better understand the characteristics of terrestrial C sinks and their contribution to carbon neutrality,this review summarizes major progress in terrestrial C budget researches during the past decades,clarifies spatial patterns and drivers of terrestrial C sources and sinks in China and around the world,and examines the role of terrestrial C sinks in achieving carbon neutrality target.According to recent studies,the global terrestrial C sink has been increasing from a source of (-0.2±0.9) Pg C yr^(-1)(1 Pg=1015g)in the 1960s to a sink of (1.9±1.1) Pg C yr^(-1) in the 2010s.By synthesizing the published data,we estimate terrestrial C sink of 0.20–0.25 Pg C yr^(-1) in China during the past decades,and predict it to be 0.15–0.52 Pg C yr^(-1) by 2060.The terrestrial C sinks are mainly located in the mid-and high latitudes of the Northern Hemisphere,while tropical regions act as a weak C sink or source.The C balance differs much among ecosystem types:forest is the major C sink;shrubland,wetland and farmland soil act as C sinks;and whether the grassland functions as C sink or source remains unclear.Desert might be a C sink,but the magnitude and the associated mechanisms are still controversial.Elevated atmospheric CO_(2) concentration,nitrogen deposition,climate change,and land cover change are the main drivers of terrestrial C sinks,while other factors such as fires and aerosols would also affect ecosystem C balance.The driving factors of terrestrial C sink differ among regions.Elevated CO_(2) concentration and climate change are major drivers of the C sinks in North America and Europe,while afforestation and ecological restoration are additionally important forcing factors of terrestrial C sinks in China.For future studies,we recommend the necessity for intensive and long-term ecosystem C monitoring over broad geographic scale to improve terrestrial biosphere models for accurately evaluating terrestrial C budget and its dynamics under various climate change and policy scenarios.Yuanhe Yang Yue Shi Wenjuan Sun Jinfeng Chang Jianxiao Zhu Leiyi Chen Xin Wang Yanpei Guo Hongtu Zhang Lingfei Yu Shuqing Zhao Kang Xu Jiangling Zhu Haihua Shen Yuanyuan Wang Yunfeng Peng Xia Zhao Xiangping Wang Huifeng Hu Shiping Chen Mei Huang Xuefa Wen Shaopeng Wang Biao Zhu Shuli Niu Zhiyao Tang Lingli Liu Jingyun Fang 2022Science China(Life Sciences)2022,65,5:32

5Expert consensus on difficulty assessment of endodontic therapy显示文摘Endodontic diseases are a kind of chronic infectious oral disease. Common endodontic treatment concepts are based on the removal of inflamed or necrotic pulp tissue and the replacement by gutta-percha. However, it is very essential for endodontic treatment to debride the root canal system and prevent the root canal system from bacterial reinfection after root canal therapy(RCT). Recent research, encompassing bacterial etiology and advanced imaging techniques, contributes to our understanding of the root canal system’s anatomy intricacies and the technique sensitivity of RCT. Success in RCT hinges on factors like patients, infection severity, root canal anatomy, and treatment techniques. Therefore, improving disease management is a key issue to combat endodontic diseases and cure periapical lesions. The clinical difficulty assessment system of RCT is established based on patient conditions, tooth conditions, root canal configuration, and root canal needing retreatment, and emphasizes pre-treatment risk assessment for optimal outcomes. The findings suggest that the presence of risk factors may correlate with the challenge of achieving the high standard required for RCT. 7Seasonal variations and spatial distribution of particulate matter emissions from a ventilated laying hen house in Northeast China显示文摘With the development of concentrated animal feeding operations in China,the air pollution problem has drawn widespread public attention.Residents living near farms are suffering from the emissions of particulate matter(PM)and odors.However,scientific data on the characteristics of these emissions are limited to the establishment and evaluation of mitigation strategies in China.This study was conducted to provide fundamental information on the concentrations of PM inside and outside a typical ventilated laying hen house in northeastern China.The results showed that outdoor PM concentrations of this laying hen house did not meet the requirements of the environmental quality standard of China’s livestock and poultry farms in the two days out of six sampling days in summer,while indoor PM concentrations met the environmental requirements during this study.The indoor and outdoor PM concentrations were highly correlated in summer,and over 60%of particles indoor were emitted outside via mechanical ventilation.There were more fine particles dominated both inside and outside of the laying hen house.Besides,twelve and nine elements were measured from the PM sources inside and outside laying hen house,respectively.PM control strategies may be adjusted based on the status of exhaust fans,the ages of laying hens,atmospheric conditions,and routine house management to well reduce PM emissions and improve control efficiency.Li Guo Dongsen Zhao Bo Zhao Shuli Ma Xiaolin Liu Mo Li Xin Liu 2020International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2020,13,3:0
8Detection of T-wave Alternans in ECG Signals Using FRFT and Tensor Decomposition显示文摘T-wave alternans(TWA)refers to the periodic beat-to-beat variation in the amplitude of T-wave in the electrocardiogram(ECG)signal in an ABAB-pattern.TWA has been proven to be a very important indicator of malignant arrhythmia risk stratification.A new method to detect TWA by combining fractional Fourier transform(FRFT)and tensor decomposition is proposed.First,the T-wave vector is extracted from the ECG of each heartbeat,and its FRFT amplitudes at multiple orders are arranged to form a T-wave matrix.Then,a third-order tensor is composed of T-wave matrices of several consecutive heart beats.After tensor decomposition,projection matrices are obtained in three dimensions.The complexity of the projection matrix is measured by Shannon entropy to obtain feature vector to detect the presence of TWA.Results show that the sensitivity,specificity,and accuracy of the algorithm on the MIT-BIH database are 91.16%,94.25%,and 92.68%,respectively.This method effectively utilizes the fractional domain information of ECG,and shows the promising potential of the FRFT in ECG signal processing.Chuanbin Ge Shuli Zhao Yi Xin 2021Journal of Beijing Institute of Technology2021,30,3:0
9Supplemental Clostridium butyricum modulates lipid metabolism by reshaping the gut microbiota composition and bile acid profile in IUGR suckling piglets显示文摘Background Intrauterine growth restriction(IUGR)can cause lipid disorders in infants and have long-term adverse effects on their growth and development.Clostridium butyricum(C.butyricum),a kind of emerging probiotics,has been reported to effectively attenuate lipid metabolism dysfunctions.Therefore,the objective of this study was to investigate the effects of C.butyricum supplementation on hepatic lipid disorders in IUGR suckling piglets.Methods Sixteen IUGR and eight normal birth weight(NBW)neonatal male piglets were used in this study.From d 3to d 24,in addition to drinking milk,the eight NBW piglets(NBW-CON group,n=8)and eight IUGR piglets(IUGR-CON group,n=8)were given 10 mL sterile saline once a day,while the remaining IUGR piglets(IUGR-CB group,n=8)were orally administered C.butyricum at a dose of 2×108colony-forming units(CFU)/kg body weight(suspended in 10 mL sterile saline)at the same frequency.Results The IUGR-CON piglets exhibited restricted growth,impaired hepatic morphology,disordered lipid metabolism,increased abundance of opportunistic pathogens and altered ileum and liver bile acid(BA)profiles.However,C.butyricum supplementation reshaped the gut microbiota of the IUGR-CB piglets,characterized by a decreased abundance of opportunistic pathogens in the ileum,including Streptococcus and Enterococcus.The decrease in these bile salt hydrolase(BSH)-producing microbes increased the content of conjugated BAs,which could be transported to the liver and function as signaling molecules to activate liver X receptorα(LXRα)and farnesoid X receptor(FXR).This activation effectively accelerated the synthesis and oxidation of fatty acids and down-regulated the total cholesterol level by decreasing the synthesis and promoting the efflux of cholesterol.As a result,the growth performance and morphological structure of the liver improved in the IUGR piglets.Conclusion These results indicate that C.butyricum supplementation in IUGR suckling piglets could decrease the abundance of BSH-producing microbes(Streptococcus and Enterococcus).This decrease altered the ileum and liver BA profiles and consequently activated the expression of hepatic LXRαand FXR.The activation of these two signaling molecules could effectively normalize the lipid metabolism and improve the growth performance of IUGR suckling piglets.Xin Zhang Yang Yun Zheng Lai Shuli Ji Ge Yu Zechen Xie Hao Zhang Xiang Zhong Tian Wang Lili Zhang 2023Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2023,14,3:0
10PU.1 interacts with KLF7 to suppress differentiation and promote proliferation in chicken preadipocytes显示文摘Krüppel-like factor 7(KLF7)is a negative regulator of preadipocyte differentiation.Our previous KLF7 ChIP-seq analysis showed that the binding motif of PU.1 was found among the KLF7 binding peaks,indicating that an interaction between KLF7 and PU.1 at preadipocyte gene promoters and other regulatory elements might be common.Here,Co-IP and FRET assays are used to confirm that PU.1 can directly bind to KLF7 and enhance the transcription activity of cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor 3(CDKN3),which is a downstream target gene of KLF7.We show that the PU.1 expression level is decreased during preadipocyte differentiation.Furthermore,PU.1 overexpression and knockdown experiments reveal that PU.1 negatively regulates chicken preadipocyte differentiation,as evidenced by appropriate changes in lipid droplet accumulation and altered expressions of PPARγ,FAS,and PLIN.In addition,PU.1 overexpression promotes preadipocyte proliferation,while knockdown of PU.1 inhibits preadipocyte proliferation.We further demonstrate that PU.1 inhibits differentiation and promotes proliferation in preadipocytes,in part by directly interacting with KLF7.Ming Tan Hu Xu Jinwei Li Ziqiu Jia Xin Zhang Shuli Shao Weiwei Zhang Weiyu Wang Yingning Sun 2023Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2023,55,1:0
