| 1 | Nitrous oxide emissions from a maize field during two consecutive growing seasons in the North China Plain显示文摘Nitrous oxide (N 2 O) emissions from a maize field in the North China Plain (Wangdu County,Hebei Province,China) were investigated using static chambers during two consecutive maize growing seasons in the 2008 and 2009.The N 2 O pulse emissions occurred with duration of about 10 days after basal and additional fertilizer applications in the both years.The average N 2 O fluxes from the CK (control plot,without crop,fertilization and irrigation),NP (chemical N fertilizer),SN (wheat straw returning plus chemical N fertilizer),OM- 1/2N (chicken manure plus half chemical N fertilizer) and OMN (chicken manure plus chemical N fertilizer) plots in 2008 were 8.51,72.1,76.6,101,107 ng N/(m 2 ·sec),respectively,and in 2009 were 33.7,30.0 and 35.0 ng N/(m 2 ·sec) from CK,NP and SN plots,respectively.The emission factors of the applied fertilizer as N 2 O-N (EFs) were 3.8% (2008) and 1.1% (2009) for the NP plot,3.2% (2008) and 1.2% (2009) for the SN plot,and 2.8% and 2.2% in 2008 for the OM-1/2N and OMN plots,respectively.Hydromorphic properties of the investigated soil (with gley) are in favor of denitrification.The large differences of the soil temperature and water-filled pore space (WFPS) between the two maize seasons were suspected to be responsible for the significant yearly variations.Compared with the treatments of NP and SN,chicken manure coupled with compound fertilizer application significantly reduced fertilizer loss rate as N 2 O-N. | Yuanyuan Zhang Junfeng Liu Yujing Mu Zhu Xu Shuwei Pei Xiaoxiu Lun Ying Zhang | 2012 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2012,24,1: | 15 |
| 2 | Hydrocarbon generation characteristics and exploration prospects of Proterozoic source rocks in China显示文摘A large number of primary oil and gas reservoirs have been discovered in Proterozoic strata all over the globe.Proterozoic sequences are widely distributed in China, and the discovery of large Sinian-aged gas reservoirs in the Sichuan Basin and Mesoproterozoic liquid oil seepages in North China shows that attention should be paid to the exploration potential of Proterozoic strata. In this paper, the main controlling factors of Proterozoic source rocks are discussed. Principally, active atmospheric circulation and astronomical cycles may have driven intense upwelling and runoff to provide nutrients; oxygenated oceanic surface waters could have provided suitable environments for the organisms to thrive; volcanic activity and terrestrial weathering caused by continental break-up would have injected large amounts of nutrients into the ocean, leading to persistent blooms of marine organisms; and extensive anoxic deep waters may have created ideal conditions for the preservation of organic matter. Additionally, the appearance of eukaryotes resulted in diversified hydrocarbon parent material, which effectively improved the generation potential for oil and gas. Through the comparison of Formations across different cratons, seven sets of Proterozoic organic-rich source rocks have been recognized in China, which mainly developed during interglacial periods and are also comparable worldwide. The Hongshuizhuang and Xiamaling Formations in North China have already been identified previously as Mesoproterozoic source rocks. The early Proterozoic Changchengian System is highly promising as a potential source rock in the Ordos Basin. In the Upper Yangtze area, the Neoproterozoic Datangpo and Doushantuo Formations are extensively distributed, and represent the major source rocks for Sinian gas reservoirs in the Sichuan Basin. Moreover, the Nanhuan System may contain abundant shales with high organic matter contents in the Tarim Basin, although this possibility still needs to be verified. | 4 | An experimental and numerical study on the charring rate of timber beams exposed to three-side fire显示文摘To investigate the charring rate of timber beams exposed to three-side fire, a total of fifteen new and used Douglas-Fir timber beams in four groups exposed to three-side fire were experimentally studied, together with the finite element analyses of the temperature distribution in the beam section. The durations of fire exposure were 0 (on a test piece), 10, 15, 20 and 30 min, according to the ISO 834 standard fire curve. The charring depth of each timber beam was calculated by averaging the values at one-third and two-thirds along each cross section to give the charring rate of timber beams. It was found that the timber beam's charring rate reduces as the duration of fire exposure increases and the vertical charring rate is slightly higher than the horizontal one. The areas of beam sections reduce due to charring and the strength and stiffness of the pyrolysis layer near the charring edge decrease owing to the high-temperature. The average horizontal and vertical charring rates are 0.98 and 1.08 mm/min, respectively. To take into account the difference between the test furnace temperature curve and the ISO 834 stand- ard fire curve, some corrections were made for these data to yield the solution for charring rate. With the help of the finite element software ANSYS, the temperature distribution of the wood's cross-section was analyzed. | 5 | Virtual simulation analysis and verification of seed-filling mechanism for dipper hill-drop precision direct rice seeder显示文摘In order to improve the seeder’seed-filling ability of the dipper hill-drop precision direct rice seeder,and to meet the mechanization requirement of high speed operation,the self-designed seeder was taken as the objective to explore its seed-filling mechanism and the movement status of rice seed in seed box from the perspective of mechanics.The force models of seed-filling process by dipper were established,and the influential regularity of its rotation speed to compressive resistance of seed population was analyzed as well.The image processing Module-Clipping of discrete element simulation software EDEM was used in the virtual simulation analysis for the process of the seed filling into the dipper,and the velocity relation curve and the force changing curve between rotation speed and seeds were obtained.According to the virtual experiment,the composite filling force of seeds,i.e.the qualified rate on filled rice seed amounts was the largest when rotation speed was at 40 r/min.The performance test bed of seeder was used to verify the simulation results,in which the qualified rate on scooped rice seed amounts was taken as the index,and six rotation speeds of seed-filling dipper were also selected for analysis of seed-filling ability of the device.The results are as follows:with the increase of working speed,the qualified rate on filled rice seed amounts fluctuated with a trend of cosine curve,the largest value was 94.16%occurred when the rotation speed of seed-filling dipper was at 40 r/min.The variation trend of simulation value was approximately consistent with that of verification value.The study can provide a reference for the research and development of mechanical seeder. | Wang Jinwu Zhou Wenqi Tian Liquan Li Shuwei Zhang Zhao | 2017 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2017,10,6: | 7 |

| 7 | Heavy mineral assemblage characteristics and the Cenozoic paleogeographic evolution in southwestern Qaidam Basin显示文摘Based on the analysis of heavy mineral assemblages in Cenozoic southwestern Qaidam Basin, we found that different areas have variable heavy mineral assemblage characteristics, which suggested that there were two source areas—the Altyn Mountains and the Qimen Tagh-East Kunlun Mountains. In Ganchaigou-Shizigou-Huatugou(Area A), which was mainly source from the Altyn Mountains, its heavy minerals were mainly composed of zircon, Ti-oxides, and wollastonite in the Paleoceneearly Eocene and mainly of unstable minerals, especially amphibole, in the middle Eocene-Oligene. Since the late OligoceneMiocene, the heavy minerals were still mainly unstable minerals, but the content of epidote increased and the content of amphibole decreased. In Qigequan-Hongliuquan(Area B), which was the mixed source from the Altyn Mountains and the Qimen Tagh-East Kunlun Mountains, its heavy minerals were mainly garnet, epidote, and amphibole. The source of LücaotanDongchaishan-Kunbei(Area C) was mainly from the Qimen Tagh-East Kunlun Mountains, heavy minerals in the sediments in Area C were mainly zircon and Ti-oxides in Paleogene and garnet, epidote, and amphibole in Neogene. In Yuejin-Youshashan(Area D), where the stable minerals and unstable minerals were present simultaneously, the heavy mineral assemblages was controlled by multi-direction source. The variation of heavy mineral assemblages in southwestern Qaidam Basin shows that Altyn Mountains was of low-lying topographic relief in Paleocene-early Eocene, and the rapid uplift of Altyn Mountains started from the middle Eocene. In Paleogene, the Altyn Tagh Fault had a slow strike-slip velocity, but the strike-slip velocity increased greatly since the late Oligocene, leading to a strike-slip displacement above 300 km since Neogene. | 11 | The HDAC inhibitor GCJ-490A suppresses c-Met expression through IKKα and overcomes gefitinib resistance in non-small cell lung cancer显示文摘Objective:The novel compound GCJ-490A has been discovered as a pan-histone deacetylase(HDAC)inhibitor that exerts potent inhibitory activity against HDAC1,HDAC3,and HDAC6.Because of the important roles of HDACs in lung cancer development and the high distribution of GCJ-490A in lung tissue,we explored the anti-tumor potency of GCJ-490A against non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)in vitro and in vivo in this study.Methods:The in vitro effects of GCJ-490A alone or combined with the EGFR inhibitor gefitinib against NSCLC were measured with proliferation,apoptosis,and colony formation assays.NSCLC xenograft models were used to investigate the efficacy of GCJ-490A combined with gefitinib for the treatment of NSCLC in vivo.Western blot assays,luciferase reporter assays,chromatin immunoprecipitation assays,quantitative real time-PCR,immunohistochemistry,and transcription factor activity assays were used to elucidate possible mechanisms.Results:GCJ-490A effectively inhibited NSCLC cell proliferation and induced apoptosis in vitro and in vivo.Interestingly,inhibition of HDAC1 and HDAC6 by GCJ-490A increased histone acetylation at the IKKαpromoter and enhanced IKKαtranscription,thus decreasing c-Met.Moreover,this c-Met downregulation was found to be essential for the synergistic anti-tumor activity of GCJ-490A and gefitinib.Conclusions:These findings highlight the promising potential of HDAC inhibitors in NSCLC treatment and provide a rational basis for the application of HDAC inhibitors in combination with EGFR inhibitors in clinical trials. | Ting He Yinglei Gao Yanfen Fang Yangming Zhang Shuwei Zhang Fajun Nan Jian Ding Yi Chen | 2022 | Cancer Biology & Medicine2022,19,8: | 3 |

| 13 | Soil Respiration and Litter Decomposition Increased Following Perennial Forb Invasion into an Annual Grassland显示文摘Exotic plant invasions may alter ecosystem carbon processes, especially when native plants are displaced by plants of a different functional group. Forb invasions into grasslands are common, yet little is known about how they impact carbon cycling. We conducted a field study over 2 years from April 2010 to March 2012 in China to examine changes in soil respiration(R_(soil)) following invasion of exotic perennial forb species(Alternanthera philoxeroides or Solidago canadensis) into an annual grassland dominated by a native annual graminoid(Eragrostis pilosa). Measurements of R_(soil)were taken once a week in stands of the native annual graminoid or one of the forb species using static chamber-gas chromatograph method. Aboveground litterfall of each of the three focal species was collected biweekly and litter decomposition rates were measured in a 6-month litterbag experiment. The monthly average and annual cumulative R_(soil)increased following invasion by either forb species. The increases in cumulative R_(soil)were smaller with invasion of Solidago(36%)than Alternanthera(65%). Both invasive forbs were associated with higher litter quantity and quality(e.g., C:N ratio) than the native annual graminoid. Compared to the native annual graminoid, the invasive forbs Alternanthera(155%) and Solidago(361%) produced larger amounts of more rapidly decomposing litter, with the litter decay constant k being 3.8, 2.0 and 1.0 for Alternanthera, Solidago and Eragrostis, respectively. | 14 | Large-scale evaluation of pea(Pisum sativum L.)germplasm for cold tolerance in the field during winter in Qingdao显示文摘As a cool-season crop, pea(Pisum sativum L.) can tolerate frost at the vegetative stage but experiences yield loss when freezing stress occurs at the reproductive stage. Cold-tolerance improvement of pea varieties is important for stable yield and expansion of the winter pea planting area. Under natural low-temperature conditions during winter in Qingdao,Shandong, China, we evaluated the cold tolerance of 3672 pea germplasm accessions in the field and categorized them as displaying high resistance(214), moderate resistance(835), or susceptibility(2623). The highly and moderately resistant genotypes were validated in the following year. We found that genotypes from the winter production region showed higher cold tolerance than genotypes from the spring production region. | 16 | Influence of tribofilm on superlubricity of highly-hydrogenated amorphous carbon films in inert gaseous environments显示文摘In this study,we mainly focus on the structural morphology and inter-atomic bonding state of tribofilms resulting from a highly-hydrogenated amorphous carbon(a-C:H) film in order to ascertain the underlying mechanisms for its superlubric behavior(i.e.,less than 0.01 friction coefficient).Specifically,we achieved superlubricity(i.e.,friction coefficients of down to 0.003) with this film in dry nitrogen and argon atmospheres especially when the tribo-pair is made of an a-C:H coated Si disk sliding against an a-C:H coated steel ball,while the a-C:H coated disk against uncoated ball does not provide superlubricity.We also found that the state of superlubricity is more stable in argon than in nitrogen and the formation of a smooth and uniformly-thick carbonaceous tribofilm appears to be one of the key factors for the realization of such superlubricity.Besides,the interfacial morphology of sliding test pairs and the atomic-scale bond structure of the carbon-based tribofilms also play an important role in the observed superlubric behavior of a-C:H films.Using Raman spectroscopy and high resolution transmission electron microscopy,we have compared the structural differences of the tribofilms produced on bare and a-C:H coated steel balls.For the a-C:H coated ball as mating material which provided superlow friction in argon,structural morphology of the tribofilm was similar or comparable to that of the original a-C:H coating;while for the bare steel ball,the sp^2-bonded C fraction in the tribofilm increased and a fingerprint-like nanocrystalline structure was detected by high resolution transmission electron microscopy(HRTEM).We also calculated the shear stresses for different tribofilms,and established a relationship between the magnitude of the shear stresses and the extent of sp^3-sp^2 phase transformation. | LIU ShuWei ZHANG ChenHui OSMAN Eryilmaz CHEN XinChun MA TianBao HU YanZhong LUO JianBin ALI Erdemir | 2016 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2016,59,12: | 2 |
