Correlation between lower gastrointestinal tract symptoms and quality of life in patients with stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To explore correlations between the symptoms of constipation and abdominal distention and severity of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)in patients with stable disease.METHODS:We studied 191 patients with stable COPD(according to defined criteria)in this cross-sectional study from four three-level class A Chinese medicine hospitals in China. We built an Epidata 3.0 database and performed statistical analysis with SPSS,version 17.0.We analyzed correlations between the frequency of lower gastrointestinal tract symptoms(constipation and abdominal distention)and scores for major pulmonary symptoms(cough, sputum and wheezing)based on the St.George's Respiratory Questionnaire(SGRQ),6-minute walking distance(6MWD)and frequency of acute exacerbations of COPD(AECOPD).RESULTS:In addition to their pulmonary symptoms,39.79%and 40.31%of study patients withstable COPD reported constipation and abdominal distention, respectively.Scores for major pulmonary symptoms(cough, sputum and wheezing),AECOPD and SGRQ values in patients with constipation and abdominal distention were significantly greater, and the 6MWD markedly shorter, than in those without them.According to Pearson's correlation analysis, there were strong correlations between these lower gastrointestinal tract symptoms and scores for pulmonary symptoms,SGRQ,6MWD and AECOPD.CONCLUSION:Lower gastrointestinal tract symptoms such as constipation and abdominal distention can adversely affect pulmonary symptoms, frequency of acute exacerbations and quality of life in patients with stable COPD. | Yan Sun Fengjie Zheng Yuhang Li Ruohan Wu Yuchao Liu Miao Liu Jinchao Zhang Kuo Gao | 2013 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2013,33,5: | 10
The dimension and morphology of alveolar bone at maxillaryanterior teeth in periodontitis: a retrospective analysis usingCBCT显示文摘The morphology of the alveolar bone at the maxillary anterior teeth in periodontitis patients was evaluated by cone-beam computed tomography(CBCT) to investigate the distribution of alveolar defects and provide guidance for clinical practice. Ninety periodontitis patients and 30 periodontally healthy individuals were selected to determine the morphology of the alveolar bone at the maxillary anterior teeth according to the degree of bone loss, tooth type, sex and age. The differences in the dimensions between periodontitis patients and healthy individuals were compared, and the distribution of alveolar bone defects was analyzed.A classification system was established regarding the sagittal positions and angulations of the teeth. The buccal residual bone was thicker and the lingual bone was thinner in the periodontitis patients than in the periodontally healthy individuals, and there were differences between the different tooth types, sexes and age subgroups. The buccal undercut was close to the alveolar ridge, while fenestration was reduced and the apical bone height was higher in periodontitis patients than in periodontally healthy individuals. The apical bone height increased with the aggravation of bone loss and age. The proportions of different sagittal positions changed with the aggravation of bone loss. Moreover, the teeth moved more buccally regarding the positions of the maxillary anterior teeth. The morphology of the alveolar bone at the maxillary anterior teeth differed between periodontitis patients and healthy individuals, and the differences were related to the degree of bone loss, tooth type, sex and age. | Xue Zhang Yuchao Li Ziming Ge Haijiao Zhao Lei Miao Yaping Pan | 2020 | International Journal of Oral Science2020,12,1: | 10
Single-cell biomagnifier for optical nanoscopes and nanotweezers显示文摘Optical microscopes and optical tweezers, which were invented to image and manipulate microscale objects, have revolutionized cellular and molecular biology. However, the optical resolution is hampered by the diffraction limit;thus, optical microscopes and optical tweezers cannot be directly used to image and manipulate nano-objects.The emerging plasmonic/photonic nanoscopes and nanotweezers can achieve nanometer resolution, but the high-index material structures will easily cause mechanical and photothermal damage to biospecimens. Here,we demonstrate subdiffraction-limit imaging and manipulation of nano-objects by a noninvasive device that was constructed by trapping a cell on a fiber tip.The trapped cell, acting as a biomagnifier, could magnify nanostructures with a resolution of 100 nm(λ/5.5)under white-light microscopy. The focus of the biomagnifier formed a nano-optical trap that allowed precise manipulation of an individual nanoparticle with a radius of 50 nm.This biomagnifier provides a high-precision tool for optical imaging, sensing, and assembly of bionanomaterials. | Yuchao Li Xiaoshuai Liu Baojun Li | 2019 | Light(Science & Applications)2019,8,1: | 9
Reinforcement effect of fiber and deoiled asphalt on high viscosity rubber/SBS modified asphalt mortar显示文摘In this paper we investigate the reinforcement mechanism of high viscosity rubber/SBS modified asphalt mortar mixed with fiber(mineral, lignin or carbon fiber) and deoiled asphalt(DOA). The softening point, penetration and viscosity tests were conducted to characterize the engineering properties of asphalt-fiber mortar. The microstructure of fiber was observed using scanning electron microscopy(SEM), and the results indicated that fiber can effectively improve the toughness of asphalt matrix through forming a spatial network structure, and then adhesion and stabilization of asphalt binder. The cone penetration test was designed to study the rheological property of fiber modified asphalt. The results indicated that the reinforcement effect increased with fibers and DOA fraction increasing to a certain threshold, and the optimal fiber content was dependent on the fiber type and its length. Fiber content and filler-asphalt ratio had significant effects on the softening point, penetration, viscosity and cone penetration of asphalt mortar. | Wu Mengmeng Li Rui Zhang Yuzhen Wei Jianming Lv Yuchao Ding Xuemei | 2014 | Petroleum Science2014,11,3: | 8
Targeted metabolomics of sulfated bile acids in urine for the diagnosis and grading of intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy显示文摘Intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy(ICP)is related to cholestatic disorder in pregnancy.Total urinary sulfated bile acids(SBAs)were found increased in ICP.We distinguished the metabolic profiling of urinary SBAs in ICP to find potential biomarkers for the diagnosis and grading of ICP.The targeted metabolomics based on high-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry(HPLC-MS/MS)was used to analyze urinary SBAs profiling in mild and severe ICP cases,as well as healthy controls.16 kinds of urinary SBAs were determined by HPLC-MS/MS.Sulfated dihydroxy glycine bile acid(di-GBA-S),glycine cholic acid 3-sulfate(GCA-3S),sulfated dihydroxy taurine bile acid(di-TBA-S)and taurine cholic acid 3-sulfate(TCA-3S)increased significantly in ICP group compared with the control group.Seven kinds of SBAs were significantly different(p<0.05)between the ICP group and the control group, with the variable importance in the projection(VIP)value more than one by the orthogonal partial least squares discriminant analysis(OPLS-DA).GCA-3S was well-suited to be used as the biomarker for the diagnosis of ICP with the sensitivity of 100%and specificity of 95.5%.A multi-variable logistic regression containing GCA-3S and di-GBA-S-1 was constructed to distinguish severe ICP from mild ICP,with the sensitivity of 94.4%and specificity of 100%.The developed HPLC-MS/MS method is suitable for the measurement of urinary SBAs profiling. Moreover, the urinary SBAs in the metabolomic profiling have the potential to be used as non-intrusive biomarkers for the diagnosis and grading of ICP. | Yuchao Li Xiaoqing Zhang Jianbo Chen Chengya Feng Yifan He Yong Shao Min Ding | 2018 | Genes & Diseases2018,5,4: | 8
Vacancy formation enthalpies of high-entropy FeCoCrNi alloy via first-principles calculations and possible implications to its superior radiation tolerance显示文摘Because atoms in high-entropy alloys(HEAs) coordinate in very different and distorted local environments in the lattice sites, even for the same type of constituent, their point defects could highly vary. Therefore, theoretical determination of the thermodynamic quantities(i.e., defect formation enthalpies)of various point defects is rather challenging because each corresponding thermodynamic quantity of all involve constituents is not unique. The knowledge of these thermodynamic quantities is prerequisite for designing novel HEAs and understanding the mechanical and physical behaviors of HEAs. However,to date there has not been a good method to theoretically derive the defect formation enthalpies of HEAs. Here, using first-principles calculations within the density functional theory(DFT) in combination of special quasi-random structure models(SQSs), we have developed a general method to derive corresponding formation enthalpies of point defects in HEAs, using vacancy formation enthalpies of a four-component equiatomic fcc-type FeCoCrNi HEA as prototypical and benchmark examples. In difference from traditional ordered alloys, the vacancy formation enthalpies of FeCoCrNi HEA vary in a highly wide range from 0.72 to 2.89 eV for Fe, 0.88–2.90 eV for Co, 0.78–3.09 eV for Cr, and 0.91–2.95 eV for Ni due to high-level site-to-site lattice distortions and compositional complexities. On average, the vacancy formation enthalpies of 1.58 eV for Fe, 1.61 eV for Cr, 1.70 eV for Co and 1.89 eV for Ni are all larger than that(1.41 eV) of pure fcc nickel. This fact implies that the vacancies are much more difficult to be created than in nickel, indicating a reasonable agreement with the recent experimental observation that FeCoCrNi exhibits two orders of amplitudes enhancement of radiation tolerance with the suppression of void formation at elevated temperatures than in pure nickel. | Weiliang Chen Xueyong Ding Yuchao Feng Xiongjun Liu Kui Liu Z.P. | 8 | Vertical‐organic‐nanocrystal‐arrays for crossbar memristors with tuning switching dynamics toward neuromorphic computing显示文摘Memristors proposed by Leon Chua provide a new type of memory device for novel neuromorphic computing applications. However, the approaching of distinct multi‐intermediate states for tunable switching dynamics, the con-trolling of conducting filaments(CFs)toward high device repeatability and reproducibility, and the ability for large‐scale preparation devices, remain full of challenges. Here,we show that vertical‐organic‐nanocrystal‐arrays(VONAs)could make a way toward the challenges. The perfect one‐dimensional structure of the VONAs could confine the CFs accurately with fine‐tune resistance states in a broad range of 103 ratios. The availability of large‐area VONAs makes the fabrication of large‐area crossbar memristor arrays facilely, and the analog switching characteristic of the memristors is to effectively imitate different kinds of synaptic plasticity, indicating their great potential in future applications. | Fangxu Yang Lingjie Sun Qingxi Duan Huanli Dong Zhaokun Jing Yuchao Yang Rongjin Li Xiaotao Zhang Wenping Hu Leon Chua | 2021 | SmartMat2021,2,1: | 5
Optimizing zeolite stabilized Pt-Zn catalysts for propane dehydrogenation显示文摘Propane dehydrogenation(PDH)provides an alternative route to non-petroleum based propylene and eligible catalysts with good overall performance are still being explored.Herein,we report the construction of zeolite stabilized Pt-Zn catalysts Pt-Zn/Si-Beta for PDH.Characterization results from transmission electron microscopy(TEM),ultraviolet-visible(UV-vis)and Fourier transform infrared(FTIR)spectroscopy reveal that highly-dispersed Zn species are stabilized by the silanols from zeolite framework dealumination, which then act as the anchoring sites for Pt species. The close contact between Pt-Zn species and the electronic interaction thereof make Pt-Zn/Si-Beta robust PDH catalysts.Under optimized conditions,a high propylene production rate of 4.11 molmol_(Pt)^(-1)s^(-1),high propylene selectivity of 98% and a sustainable deactivation rate of~0.02 h^(-1)can be simultaneously achieved at 823 K.Coke deposition is not the key reason for the catalytic deactivation, while the loss of Zn species and the resulting aggregation of Pt species under high temperatures are responsible for the irreversible deactivation of Pt-Zn/Si-Beta catalyst in PDH reaction. | Linjun Xie Yuchao Chai Lanlan Sun Weili Dai Guangjun Wu Naijia Guan Landong Li | 2021 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,6: | 5
Subwavelength imaging and detection using adjustable and movable droplet microlenses显示文摘We developed adjustable and movable droplet microlenses consisting of a liquid with a high refractive index. The microlenses were prepared via ultrasonic shaking in deionized water, and the diameter of the microlenses ranged from 1 to 50μm.By stretching the microlenses, the focal length can be adjusted from 13 to 25μm.With the assistance of an optical tweezer, controllable assembly and movement of microlens arrays were also realized. The results showed that an imaging system combined with droplet microlenses could image 80 nm beads under white light illumination.Using the droplet microlenses, fluorescence emission at 550 nm from Cd Se@Zn S quantum dots was efficiently excited and collected. Moreover,Raman scattering signals from a silicon wafer were enhanced by^19 times. The presented droplet microlenses may offer new opportunities for flexible liquid devices in subwavelength imaging and detection. | XIXI CHEN TIANLI WU ZHIYONG GONG YUCHAO LI YAO ZHANG BAOJUN LI | 2020 | Photonics Research2020,8,3: | 5
Porphyromonas gingivalis exacerbates ulcerative colitis via Porphyromonas gingivalis peptidylarginine deiminase显示文摘Abstract:Ulcerative Colitis(UC)has been reported to be related to Porphyromonas gingivalis(P.gingivalis).Porphyromonas gingivalis peptidylarginine deiminase(PPAD),a virulence factor released by P.gingivalis,is known to induce inflammatory responses. To explore the pathological relationships between PPAD and UC,we used homologous recombination technology to construct a P.gingivalis strain in which the PPAD gene was deleted(Δppad)and aΔppad strain in which the PPAD gene was restored(comΔppad).C57 BL/6 mice were orally gavaged with saline,P.gingivalis,Δppad,or comΔppad twice a week for the entire 40 days(days 0-40),and then,UC was induced by dextran sodium sulfate(DSS)solution for 10 days(days 31-40).P.gingivalis and comΔppad exacerbated DDS-induced colitis, which was determined by assessing the parameters of colon length, disease activity index, and histological activity index, butΔppad failed to exacerbate DDS-induced colitis.Flow cytometry and ELISA revealed that compared withΔppad,P.gingivalis, and comΔppad increased T helper 17(Th17)cell numbers and interleukin(IL)-17 production but decreased regulatory T cells(Tregs)numbers and IL-10 production in the spleens of mice with UC.We also cocultured P.gingivalis,Δppad,or comΔppad with T lymphocytes in vitro and found that P.gingivalis and comΔppad significantly increased Th17 cell numbers and decreased Treg cell numbers.Immunofluorescence staining of colon tissue paraffin sections also confirmed these results. The results suggested that P.gingivalis exacerbated the severity of UC in part via PPAD. | Xida Zhao Jingbo Liu Chong Zhang Ning Yu Ze Lu Shuwei Zhang Yuchao Li Qian Li Junchao Liu Dongjuan Liu Yaping Pan | 2021 | International Journal of Oral Science2021,13,3: | 5
Nuclear Aurora kinase A switches m^(6)A reader YTHDC1 to enhance an oncogenic RNA splicing of tumor suppressor RBM4显示文摘Aberrant RNA splicing produces alternative isoforms of genes to facilitate tumor progression, yet how this process is regulated by oncogenic signal remains largely unknown. Here,we unveil that non-canonical activation of nuclear AURKA promotes an oncogenic RNA splicing of tumor suppressor RBM4 directed by m^(6)A reader YTHDC1 in lung cancer.Nuclear translocation of AURKA is a prerequisite for RNA aberrant splicing, specifically triggering RBM4 splicing from the full isoform(RBM4-FL)to the short isoform(RBM4-S)in a kinase-independent manner. | SiSi Li YangFan Qi JiaChuan Yu YuChao Hao Bin He MengJuan Zhang ZhenWei Dai TongHui Jiang SuYi Li Fang Huang Ning Chen Jing Wang MengYing Yang DaPeng Liang Fan An JinYao Zhao WenJun Fan YuJia Pan ZiQian Deng YuanYuan Luo Tao Guo Fei Peng ZhiJie Hou ChunLi Wang FeiMeng Zheng LingZhi Xu Jie Xu QingPing Wen BiLian Jin Yang Wang Quentin Liu | 2022 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2022,7,5: | 4
Propane dehydrogenation catalyzed by in-situ partially reduced zinc cations confined in zeolites显示文摘Propane dehydrogenation(PDH), employing Pt-or Cr-based catalysts, represents an emerging industrial route for propylene production. Due to the scarcity of platinum and the toxicity of chromium, alternative PDH catalysts are being pursued. Herein, we report the construction of Zn-containing zeolite catalysts, namely Zn@S-1, for PDH reaction. Well-isolated zinc cations are successfully trapped and stabilized by the Si-OH groups in S-1 zeolites via in-situ hydrothermal synthesis. The as-prepared Zn@S-1 catalysts exhibit good dehydrogenation activity, high propylene selectivity, and regeneration capability in PDH reaction under employed conditions. The in-situ partial reduction of zinc species is observed and the partially reduced zinc cations are definitely identified as the active sites for PDH reaction. | Linjun Xie Rui Wang Yuchao Chai Xuefei Weng Naijia Guan Landong Li | 2021 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,12: | 4
Trimetallic oxyhydroxides as active sites for large-current-density alkaline oxygen evolution and overall water splitting显示文摘Earth-abundant electrocatalysts for large-current-density water splitting under alkaline condition are desirable.Oxygen evolution reaction, which is a bottleneck of the overall water splitting, faces the problems of complicated reconstruction and deficiency in rational design of active sites.Herein,we report a series of transition metal chalcogenides for alkaline OER.Among them,FeCoNi(S)displayed a low overpotential of 293 m V to deliver a current density of 500 m A cm^(-2),which is in the top level of non-precious metal based OER electrocatalysts.A combination of(ex)in situ characterizations and DFT calculation shows that Ni(Fe,Co)trimetallic oxyhydroxides were the active sites for highly-efficient OER.Furthermore, for FeCoNi(S),when used as a bifunctional catalyst for water splitting,it only required a cell voltage of 1.84 V to deliver~500 m A cm^(-2) with extraordinary long-term stability over 2000 h.This work provides the comprehension of high-efficiency,robust catalysts for OER and overall water splitting at large current densities in alkaline media. | Lei Chen Yunpeng Wang Xin Zhao Yuchao Wang Qian Li Qichen Wang Yougen Tang Yongpeng Lei | 2022 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,15: | 3
Periostin mediates epithelial-mesenchymal transition through the MAPK/ERK pathway in hepatoblastoma显示文摘Objective: The aim of the present study was to analyze the prognostic factors in patients with hepatoblastoma(HB) in our single center and to evaluate periostin(POSTN) expression in HB and its association with clinicopathological variables. In addition, the underlying mechanism of how POSTN promotes HB progression was discussed. Methods: POSTN expression was investigated in HB tumors by immunohistochemistry(IHC), immunofluorescence(IF) and Western blot(WB). The association among POSTN expression, clinicopathological features and overall survival(OS) was also evaluated. The migration and adhesion ability of HB cells were measured using chemotaxis and cell-matrix adhesion assays, respectively. Epithelial-mesenchymal transition(EMT)-associated markers and activation of the ERK pathway were detected by WB.Results: HB patients had poor prognosis which displayed lymph node metastasis, vascular invasion, POSTN and vimentin expression. POSTN expression was also associated with lymph node metastasis. Furthermore, overexpressed POSTN promoted migration and the adhesive ability of HB cells in vitro. In addition, we demonstrated that POSTN activated the MAPK/ERK pathway, upregulated the expression of Snail and decreased the expression of OVOL2. Finally, POSTN promoted the expression of EMT-associated markers. Conclusions: POSTN might modulate EMT via the ERK signaling pathway, thereby promoting cellular migration and invasion. Our study also suggests that POSTN may serve as a therapeutic biomarker in HB patients. | Lu Chen Xiangdong Tian Wenchen Gong Bo Sun Guangtao Li Dongming Liu Piao Guo Yuchao He Ziye Chen Yuren Xia Tianqiang Song Hua Guo | 2019 | Cancer Biology & Medicine2019,16,1: | 3

Dynamic tensile and failure behavior of bi-directional reinforced GFRP materials显示文摘In this paper,a series of static/dynamic tensile tests are performed for glass fiber reinforced plastic(GFRP)composites.Using the combination of high-speed photography and digital image correlation(DIC)technology, true stress-strain curves in different directions and strain rates are obtained. We also obtained the dynamic failure strain of the material in different directions, which are used to accurately describe the dynamic tensile and failure behavior of the material. The experimental results show that there is a stiffness change point N in three directions under different strain rate(10-3 s-1,10 s-1,100 s-1)tensile conditions. The stiffness before and after N point is recorded as Einitial and Echanged respectively. The values of Echanged in weft direction and warp direction are about 30%to 50%of Einitial, while Echanged in tilt direction is only about 10%of Einitial. The fiber has the highest strength in the weft direction and the tilt direction has the lowest strength. With the combination of high-speed photography and DIC technology, the dynamic failure parameters of different directions under the strain rate of 100 s-1 are obtained. The dynamic failure strains in three directions are 0.245,0.373 and 0.341,respectively.The parameters are verified by impact three-point bending test. These works can more accurately describe the dynamic mechanical behavior of glass fiber reinforced plastic(GFRP)composites and provide reference for the design of GFRP structures. | Zishang Liu Zhe Yang Yuchao Chen Yangyang Yu Yanpeng Wei Maohui Li Chenguang Huang | 2020 | Acta Mechanica Sinica2020,36,2: | 2
Simulation of the Interface between the Indian Summer Monsoon and the East Asian Summer Monsoon:Intercomparison between MPI-ESM and ECHAM5/MPI-OM显示文摘The time-mean and interannual variability of the interface between the Indian summer monsoon and East Asian summer monsoon(IIE) was assessed using both Max-Planck-Institute Earth System Model(MPI-ESM) and ECHAM5/MPI-OM and by calculating diagnostics and skill metrics around the IIE area. Progress has been made in modeling these aspects by moving from ECHAM5/MPI-OM to MPI-ESM. MPI-ESM is more skillful than ECHAM5/MPI-OM in modeling the time-mean state and the extreme condition of the IIE. Though simulation of the interannual variability significantly deviates to some extent in both MPI-ESM and ECHAM5/MPI-OM, MPI-ESM-LR shows better skill in reflecting the relationship among sea surface temperature anomalies over the Pacific, circulation anomalies over East Asia, and IIE variability. The temperature becomes warmer under the RCP2.6 and RCP8.5 scenarios in comparison with the historical experiments, but the position of the IIE and the key physical process in relation to the IIE variability almost remains the same, suggesting that the Indian summer monsoon tends to change in phase with the East Asian summer monsoon under each RCP scenario. The relatively realistic description of the physical processes modulated by terrain in MPI-ESM may be one of the most important reasons why MPI-ESM performs better in simulating the IIE. | Yiran GUO Jie CAO Hui LI Jian WANG Yuchao DING | 2016 | Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2016,33,3: | 2
