3Interactomic study on interaction between lipid droplets and mitochondria显示文摘An increasing body of evidence shows that the lipid droplet,a neutral lipid storage organelle,plays a role in lipid metabolism and energy homeostasis through its interaction with mitochondria.However,the cellular functions and molecular mechanisms of the interaction remain ambiguous.Here we present data from transmission electron microscopy,fluorescence imaging,and reconstitution assays,demonstrating that lipid droplets physically contact mitochondria in vivo and in vitro.Using a bimolecular fluorescence complementation assay in Saccharomyces cerevisiae,we generated an interactomic map of protein-protein contacts of lipid droplets with mitochondria and peroxisomes.The lipid droplet proteins Erg6 and Pet10 were found to be involved in 75%of the interactions detected.Interestingly,interactions between 3 pairs of lipid metabolic enzymes were detected.Collectively,these data demonstrate that lipid droplets make physical contacts with mitochondria and peroxisomes,and reveal specific molecular interactions that suggest active participation of lipid droplets in lipid metabolism in yeast.Jing Pu Cheol Woong Ha Shuyan Zhang Jong Pil Jung Won-Ki Huh Pingsheng Liu 2011Protein & Cell2011,2,6:9

10Electron backscatter diffraction investigation of duplex-phase microstructure in a forged Zr-2.5Nb alloy显示文摘Microstructural features of a duplex-phase Zr-2.5Nb alloy were investigated in detail using electron channeling contrast(ECC)imaging and electron backscatter diffraction(EBSD)technique in an emission gun scanning electron microscope(FEGSEM).The excellent resolution provided by the FEGSEM promises the combined utilization of both techniques to be quite adequate for characterizing the duplex-phase microstructures.Results show that the microstructure of the Zr-2.5Nb alloy is composed of bulkαgrains(majority)in equiaxed or plate shape and thinβfilms(minority)surrounding the bulk grains,with their average grain size and thickness measured to be 1.4μm and 72 nm,respectively.Analyses onα-grain boundaries reveal a number of low angle boundaries,most of which belong to deformation-induced dislocation boundaries.Measurements on relative proportions of various Burgers boundaries suggest very weak(if any)variant selection duringβ→αcooling,which should be related to deformation-induced higher nucleation rate ofαphases.Compared to earlier attempts,more satisfactory indexing of fineβphases(down to nanoscale)is attained by the FEGSEM-based EBSD.Examples are presented to clearly reveal well-obeyed Burgers orientation relationships between adjacentαandβphases.Finally,it is deduced that continuing application of the FEGSEM-based EBSD to duplex-phase Zr alloys could help clarify controversies like the deformation priority of the two phases.CHAI LinJiang WANG ShuYan LUAN BaiFeng LIU Qing 2016Science China(Technological Sciences)2016,59,4:5
11Analysis of severe human adenovirus infection outbreak in Guangdong Province,southern China in 2019显示文摘During 2018–2019,a severe human adenovirus(HAdV)infection outbreak occurred in southern China.Here,we screened 18 respiratory pathogens in 1704 children(≤14 years old)hospitalized with acute respiratory illness in Guangzhou,China,in 2019.In total,151 patients had positive HAdV test results;34.4%(52/151)of them exhibited severe illness.HAdV infection occurred throughout the year,with a peak in summer.The median patient age was 3.0(interquartile range:1.1–5.0)years.Patients with severe HAdV infection exhibited increases in12 clinical indexes(P≤0.019)and decreases in four indexes(P≤0.007),compared with patients exhibiting nonsevere infection.No significant differences were found in age or sex distribution according to HAdV infection severity(P>0.05);however,the distributions of comorbid disease and HAdV co-infection differed according to HAdV infection severity(P<0.05).The main epidemic types were HAdV-3(47.0%,71/151)and HAdV-7(46.4%,70/151).However,the severe illness rate was significantly higher in patients with HAdV-7(51.4%)than in patients with HAdV-3(19.7%)and other types of HAdV(20%)(P<0.001).Sequencing analysis of genomes/capsid genes of 13 HAdV-7 isolates revealed high similarity to previous Chinese isolates.A representative HAdV-7isolate exhibited a similar proliferation curve to the curve described for the epidemic HAdV-3 strain Guangzhou01(accession no.DQ099432)(P>0.05);the HAdV-7 isolate exhibited stronger virulence and infectivity,compared with HAdV-3(P<0.001).Overall,comorbid disease,HAdV co-infection,and high virulence and infectivity of HAdV-7 were critical risk factors for severe HAdV infection;these data can facilitate treatment,control,and prevention of HAdV infection.Wenkuan Liu Shuyan Qiu Li Zhang Hongkai Wu Xingui Tian Xiao Li Duo Xu Jing Dai Shujun Gu Qian Liu Dehui Chen Rong Zhou 2022Virologica Sinica2022,37,3:5
12A novel thermophilic endoglucanase from a mesophilic fungus Fusarium oxysporum显示文摘A novel thermophilic endoglucanase (EGt) was extracted from a mesophilic fungus (Fusarium oxysporum L19). We invoked conventional kinetic enzyme reactions using the sodium salt of carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC-Na) as substrate. EGt displayed optimal activity at 75℃ when kept running 30 min in the temperature range of 30―85℃. Thermal stability curve measured at 70℃ suggested that its half-life time is 15.1 min. The activity was enhanced in the presence of Co2+ or Mg2+ but inhibited by Pb2+ and Fe3+. Moreover, N-bromosuccinimide (NBS) modification resulted in a complete loss of EGt activity, suggesting that tryptophan residues may be involved in the enzyme active site. Amino acid composition analysis demonstrated that EGt contains more proline residues. EGt lacks activity towards p-nitro- phenyl cellobiose (pNPC). The N-terminal amino acid se- quence of EGt is SYRVPAANGFPNPDASQEKQ, and the gene of EGt was sequenced and analyzed. Extensive se- quence alignments failed to show any homology between EGt and any known endoglucanases. This is the first report addressing the thermal adaptation of a cellulolytic enzyme from the mesophilic fungus F. oxysporum. 13CoFe-LDH nanowire arrays on graphite felt: A high-performance oxygen evolution electrocatalyst in alkaline media显示文摘Developing non-noble-metal oxygen evolution reaction(OER) electrocatalysts with high performance is critical to electrocatalytic water splitting. In this work, we fabricated Co Fe-layered double hydroxide(LDH) nanowire arrays on graphite felt(Co Fe-LDH/GF) via a hydrothermal method. The Co Fe-LDH/GF, as a robust integrated 3 D OER anode, exhibits excellent catalytic activity with the need of low overpotential of 252 and 285 mV to drive current densities of 10 and 100 mA/cm^(2) in 1.0 mol/L KOH, respectively. In addition, it also maintains electrochemical durability for at least 24 h. 14Influence of Nano-Al Concentrates on the Corrosion Resistance of Epoxy Coatings显示文摘A two-stage process was used to produce nano-composite epoxy coatings.The first step involved preparing nano-AI concentrates with high concentration and low viscosity,and the second step produced nanocomposite epoxy coatings by mixing the nano-AI concentrates and epoxy resin.Later,the coating was examined with immersion and salt spray tests.The coatings were characterized by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS),scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS).The results showed that the 5%nano-AI significantly improves the corrosion resistance of the coatings.There are two effects of nano-AI on the coating.Nano-AI is corroded initially to protect the substrate from corrosion, and then the aluminum oxide and aluminum hydroxide were produced after corrosion of nano-AI,which hindered the transmission of corrosion fluid into the coatings.Yongchun Liang Fu-Chun Liu Ming Nie Shuyan Zhao Jiedong Lin En-Hou Han 2013Journal of Materials Science & Technology2013,29,4:4
15Molecular dynamics simulation of wetting behavior at CO_2/water/solid interfaces显示文摘We used molecular dynamics simulation to demonstrate the microscopic wetting behavior of two solid model surfaces for the first time.Hydrophilic and hydrophobic features were modeled in a dense CO2 fluid environment under various densities.The water droplet loses contact with the surface under the influence of higher density CO2 fluids on the hydrophobic surface.For the hydrophilic surface,no separation between the water droplet and the surface was observed.However,the contact angle of the water droplet on the hydrophilic surface was found to increase with the fluid density.The effect of dense CO2 fluid on the surface wettability can be interpreted in terms of enhanced interactions from the surrounding CO2 molecules.LIU ShuYan YANG XiaoNing QIN Yan 2010Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,21:4
16Effect of Replacing Fish Meal with Extruded Soybean Meal on Growth, Feed Utilization and Apparent Nutrient Digestibility of Juvenile White Shrimp(Litopenaeus vannamei)显示文摘Extruded soybean meal(ESBM) was evaluated as a protein source for partial replacement of fish meal(FM) in diets of juvenile Litopenaeus vannamei. In the control diet(Diet 1), FM protein was replaced with increasing dietary levels of ESBM(4.28%, 8.40%, 12.62%, 16.82%, and 25.26%) at 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, and 60% levels(Diets 2 to 6, respectively). An eight-week feeding trial was conducted on 720 juvenile shrimp(0.67 g ± 0.01 g mean initial weight), and nutrient digestibility of the six diets was determined. ESBM could replace 20% of FM without causing a significant reduction in growth of shrimp, but other dietary treatments strongly affected whole body composition. Crude protein content of the whole body fed Diet 6 was significantly lower than that fed Diet 2(P < 0.05), while crude lipid content of the whole body fed Diet 5 or 6 was significantly higher than that fed Diet 2(P < 0.05). Protein digestibilities of Diets 5 and 6 were significantly lower than that of Diet 1(P < 0.05). Digestibility of lipids ranged from 96.97% in Diet 6 to 98.34% in Diet 3, whereas dry matter digestibility decreased with increasing replacement level. 17Recent Advancements on Photothermal Conversion and Antibacterial Applications over MXenes-Based Materials显示文摘The pernicious bacterial proliferation and emergence of super-resistant bacteria have already posed a great threat to public health,which drives researchers to develop antibiotic-free strategies to eradicate these fierce microbes.Although enormous achievements have already been achieved,it remains an arduous challenge to realize efficient sterilization to cut off the drug resistance generation.Recently,photothermal therapy(PTT)has emerged as a promising solution to efficiently damage the integrity of pathogenic bacteria based on hyperthermia beyond their tolerance.Until now,numerous photothermal agents have been studied for antimicrobial PTT.Among them,MXenes(a type of two-dimensional transition metal carbides or nitrides)are extensively investigated as one of the most promising candidates due to their high aspect ratio,atomic-thin thickness,excellent photothermal performance,low cytotoxicity,and ultrahigh dispersibility in aqueous systems.Besides,the enormous application scenarios using their antibacterial properties can be tailored via elaborated designs of MXenes-based materials.In this review,the synthetic approaches and textural properties of MXenes have been systematically presented first,and then the photothermal properties and sterilization mechanisms using MXenes-based materials are documented.Subsequently,recent progress in diverse fields making use of the photothermal and antibacterial performances of MXenes-based materials are well summarized to reveal the potential applications of these materials for various purposes,including in vitro and in vivo sterilization,solar water evaporation and purification,and flexible antibacterial fabrics.Last but not least,the current challenges and future perspectives are discussed to provide theoretical guidance for the fabrication of efficient antimicrobial systems using MXenes.Shuyan Hao Hecheng Han Zhengyi Yang Mengting Chen Yanyan Jiang Guixia Lu Lun Dong Hongling Wen Hui Li Jiurong Liu Lili Wu Zhou Wang Fenglong Wang 2022Nano-Micro Letters2022,14,11:4
18Optimization of Callus Induction Conditions from Immature Embryos in Maize and Plant Regeneration显示文摘This research uses the immature embryos of inbred maize lines(GSH9901,Hi01,Hi02,and Chang 7-2)as receptor materials to establish the callus induction system.These inbred lines provide the receptor materials for the genetic regeneration of maize and the verification of the genetic functions of maize.The factor experiment and orthogonal experiments were used to investigate the impacts of different genotypes,immature embryo size,shield orientation,2,4-D concentration,proline concentration,and folic acid concentration on the induction rate of embryogenic callus tissue.A sensitivity experiment testing glyphosate(Bar)and an antibiotic(Cefotaxime sodium)were also conducted.The results indicate that the immature embryos of inbred maize line GSH9901 were the most effective for callus tissue induction,and the immature embryos with a length of 1.6-2.0 mm produce the best result.The upward shield face is more successful for the formation of induced callus.Using orthogonal analysis,we found that the optimal combination for the induction system was A_(3)(2,4-D concentration 0.25 mg mL^(-1)),B_(1)C_(3)(proline concentration 0.8 mg mL^(-1)),and D 2(folate Concentration 0.5 mg mL^(-1))and the induction rate reached 84%.We found that cold storage at 4℃ for 1 d is more conducive for the formation of embryogenic callus than the other treatments tested.The sensitivity experiment for callus tissue screening revealed the critical concentration of glyphosate to be 10 mg ml^(-1),and the critical concentration of antibiotic is 250 mg ml^(-1).Using this combination of glyphosate and antibiotic resulted in regenerated plants.This study established the optimal conditions for immature embryo callus tissue induction in maize.Peng Jiao Ruiqi Ma Zhuo Qi Zhenzhong Jiang Siyan Liu Jing Qu Shuyan Guan Yiyong Ma 2020Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2020,89,1:3
19Spatial Pattern and Influencing Factor Analysis of Attended Collection and Delivery Points in Changsha City, China显示文摘Attended collection and delivery points are vital components of ‘last-mile logistics’.Based on point of interest(POI) data for Cainiao Stations and China Post stations in Changsha City, China, this paper provides a detailed exploration of the basic features, spatial distribution, and location influencing factors of attended collection and delivery points.Specifically, analyses of the types, service objects and location distributions of the attended collection and delivery points alongside a discussion of their spatial pattern and influencing factors provides a reference for their general geographic layout and characteristics.The findings of this study indicate that: 1) The main mode of operation of attended collection and delivery points is franchises, with other modes of operation rely on supermarkets and other individual shop types.2) The main service targets of attended collection and delivery points are communities, schools, and businesses, followed by townships, enterprises, scenic spots, and administrative units.3) Approximately 77.44% of the attended collection and delivery points are located near the exits of service areas;others are situated in the centre of the service areas.For the Cainiao Stations, 80% are located within 125 m of the exit;for the China Post stations, 80% are located within 175 m of the exit.4) The spatial distribution of the attended collection and delivery points in Changsha is unbalanced, with ‘more centre and fewer surrounding’.The centre is an ‘inverted triangle’, and the edge is an ‘orphan’, showing a northwest-southeast orientation and symmetrical along the axis.The layout of the attended collection and delivery points forms three core areas, and the number of sites decreases with the distance from the core.5) The number and distribution of the attended collection and delivery points are strongly consistent with the regional economic development level, population, and roadway system traffic convenience.Most attended collection and delivery points are on residential, scientific and educational, and commercial and financial land.XUE Shuyan LI Gang YANG Lan LIU Ling NIE Qifan Muhammad Sajid MEHMOOD 2019Chinese Geographical Science2019,29,6:3
20Construction of trace silver modified core@shell structured Pt-Ni nanoframe@CeO2 for semihydrogenation of phenylacetylene显示文摘The Pt-Ni nanoframe catalysts have attracted great interest owing to their unique electronic structure and excellent catalytic performance. However, the stability of the tenu ous edges of nano frame-structures is dissatisfactory and their un iversal applicati ons in catalytic market beyond electrocatalytic reactions are yet to be tapped and explored. Herein, we developed a new core@ shell structured Pt-Ni nanoframe@CeO2 (Pt-Ni NF@CeO2) composite via etching the Ni from inhomogeneous Pt-Ni rhombic dodecahedra (Pt-Ni RD) by cerium(lll) acetate hydrate (Ce(OAc)3). In this path, Pt-Ni RD was used as self-sacrificial 怕mplate, while the Ce(OAc)3 serves as the provider of the Ce3* source and OH' for the formation of CeO2 shell, etchant of Pt-Ni RD, and the surface modification agent. By this way, the etching of Pt-Ni RD and the formation of the CeO2 shell are simultaneously proceeded to form the final Pt-Ni NF@CeO2 in one step. The obtained Pt-Ni NF@CeO2 exhibits strong in terfacial charge tran sfer interactio n betwee n Pt-Ni NF core and CeO2 shell eve n without reductio n treatment, leading to enhan ced catalytic activity in the hydrogenation of phenylacetylene. After introduction of trace silver, the Pt-Ni-Ag4.9 NF@CeO2 achieves remarkable catalytic performa nee for the selective con versi on of phe ny lacetyle ne to styrene: high con version (100%), styre ne selectivity (86.5%), and good stability. It reveals that enc apsulatio n n oble metal nano frames into metal oxide to form core @ shell structured hybrids will in deed enhance their stability and catalytic properties.
