1Genome-wide variants of Eurasian facial shape differentiation and a prospective model of DNA based face prediction显示文摘It is a long-standing question as to which genes define the characteristic facial features among different ethnic groups. In this study, we use Uyghurs, an ancient admixed population to query the genetic bases why Europeans and Han Chinese look different. Facial traits were analyzed based on high-dense 3D facial images; numerous biometric spaces were examined for divergent facial features between European and Han Chinese, ranging from inter-landmark distances to dense shape geometrics. Genome-wide association studies(GWAS) were conducted on a discovery panel of Uyghurs. Six significant loci were identified, four of which, rs1868752, rs118078182, rs60159418 at or near UBASH3B, COL23A1, PCDH7 and rs17868256 were replicated in independent cohorts of Uyghurs or Southern Han Chinese. 2A draft sequence of the rice (Oryza sativa ssp. indica) genome显示文摘The sequence of the rice genome holds fundamental information for its biology, including physiology, genetics, development, and evolution, as well as information on many beneficial phenotypes of economic significance. Using a 'whole genome shotgun' approach, we have pro-duced a draft rice genome sequence of Oryza sativa ssp. in-dica, the major crop rice subspecies in China and many other regions of Asia. The draft genome sequence is constructed from over 4.3 million successful sequencing traces with an accumulative total length of 2214.9 Mb. The initial assembly of the non-redundant sequences reached 409.76 Mb in length, based on 3.30 million successful sequencing traces with a total length of 1797.4 Mb from an indica variant cultivar 93-11, giving an estimated coverage of 95.29% of the rice genome with an average base accuracy of higher than 99%. 3High-conductivity free-standing Li_(6)PS_(5)Cl/poly(vinylidene difluoride)composite solid electrolyte membranes for lithium-ion batteries显示文摘Bulk-type all-solid-state batteries(ASSBs)using sulfide solid electrolyte are considered as a promising alternative to commercial lithium-ion batteries owing to their high energy density and safety.However,cell energy density is often comparatively low due to use of a thick solid electrolyte separator and a lithium alloy as anode.For achieving high-performance ASSBs,creating a thin free-standing electrolyte with high-conductivity and good cycling stability against lithium anode is essential.In this work,we present Li_(6)PS_(5)Cl/poly(vinylidene difluoride)(LPSCl/PVDF)composite electrolytes prepared by a slurry method.The influence of the PVDF content on the microstructure,morphology,ionic conductivity and activation energy of the LPSCl/PVDF electrolytes is systematically investigated.Free-standing LPSCl/PVDF membranes with a thickness of 100-120 mm and a high ionic conductivity of about 1·10^(-3) S cm^(-1) at 25℃ are obtained.After adding PVDF to the LPSCl electrolyte,the cycling stability of the LPSCl electrolyte against lithium metal improves significantly.Therefore,LPSCl/PVDF composite electrolytes are promising candidates to be used in ASSBs.Shuo Wang Xue Zhang Sijie Liu Chengzhou Xin Chuanjiao Xue Felix Richter Liangliang Li Lizhen Fan Yuanhua Lin Yang Shen Jurgen Janek Ce-Wen Nan 2020Journal of Materiomics2020,6,1:5
4Improved dissolution and oral absorption by co-grinding active drug probucol and ternary stabilizers mixtures with planetary beads-milling method显示文摘The objective of this work is to construct a nanosuspension drug delivery system of probucol,a BCS II drug,in order to improve its dissolution and oral bioavailability.The wet milling procedure using planetary beads-milling equipment was utilized to grind the raw probucol to ultrafine nanoparticle/nanocrystal aqueous suspension that was further solidified by freeze-drying process.Cellulose derivatives of different substitution groups and molecular weights,including HPMC,HPC,and MC,were evaluated as the primary stabilizer of probucol nanosuspension.Ternary stabilizers system composed of a primary stabilizer(cellulose derivative,i.e.HPC),a nonionic surfactant(Pluronic R F68),and an anionic surfactant(SDS)was employed to obtain probucol nanosuspension of finer particle size and enhanced dissolution in aqueous media.The probucol nanosuspension with good physical stability showed no obvious change of particle size even after storing over 7 d at 4°C or 25°C.The solidified probucol nanosuspension with trehalose as the cryoprotectant showed the highest dissolution rate(>60%at 2 h)compared to other cryoprotectant.The in vivo pharmacokinetic evaluation indicated about 15-folds higher AUC value of the probucol nanosuspension compared to that of coarse probucol suspension after oral administration to rats.The probucol nanosuspension prepared by wet-milling and ternary stabilizers system may find wide applications for improving the dissolution and oral absorption of water-insoluble drugs.Fang Li Linsen Li Shaoning Wang Yan Yang Jia Li Dongchun Liu Sijie Zhang Siling Wang Hui Xu 2019Asian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences2019,14,6:5
5Verification of Mutagen Function of Zeocin in Nannochloropsis oceanica Through Transcriptome Analysis显示文摘Zeocin can cause double strand breaks of DNA and thus is frequently used as a selective antibiotic of eukaryotic Sh ble transformants. In non-transformation system, Zeocin may function as a mutagen if not totally lethal. To verify such function of Zeocin, we mutated Nannochloropsis oceanica by increasing the concentration of Zeocin in medium gradually, and isolated a N. oceanica strain(single cell culture) which survived Zeocin up to 10.0μg mL^(-1). The Zeocin-tolerant strain entered the exponential growth phase later and grew slower than the wild strain. Transcriptome profiling showed that the Zeocin-tolerant N. oceanica strain survived Zeocin mainly by adapting(heritable), rather than acclimating(plastic) to Zeocin. Hence mutating N. oceanica with Zeocin was approved effective. Meanwhile, the physiological characteristics of this Zeocin-tolerant strain were demonstrated. As we proposed, N. oceanica tolerated Zeocin by strengthening its protein degradation and antioxidation. The genes controlling cell division and cellular response to stimuli may also have played important roles in the reduction of growth and the tolerance to Zeocin. Our findings evidenced that Zeocin can serve as an appropriate mutagen of microalgae. 6Superfast and large-depth-range sinusoidal fringe generation for multi-dimensional information sensing显示文摘Among many multi-dimensional information sensing methods such as structured-light and single-pixel imaging technologies, sinusoidal fringe generation is general and crucial. Current methods of sinusoidal fringe generation force concessions in either the speed or the depth range. To mitigate this trade-off, we have simultaneously achieved both speed breakthrough and depth range enhancement by improving both the optical projection system and binary coding algorithm based on an off-the-shelf projector. Specifically, we propose a multifocal projection system and oblique projection method, which essentially eliminates the existence of a single focal plane in the conventional axisymmetric system and utilizes its anisotropy characteristics to achieve a superior filtering effect. Furthermore, the optimal pulse width modulation technique is introduced to modulate the square binary pattern for eliminating specific harmonics. To the best of our knowledge, the proposed method, for the first time,simultaneously achieved superfast(9524 frames per second) and large-depth-range(560 mm, about three times that of the conventional method) sinusoidal fringe generation with consistently high accuracy. 7Preventive effect of chrysin on experimental autoimmune uveitis triggered by injection of human IRBP peptide 1-20 in mice显示文摘Uveitis is a common cause of blindness worldwide.Experimental autoimmune uveitis(EAU)is an animal model of noninfectious uveitis.Chrysin(5,7-dihydroxyflavone)is a member of the flavonoid family and has anti-inflammatory effects.We immunized C57BL/6J mice with human interphotoreceptor retinoid-binding protein peptide 1–20 to induce EAU.Chrysin was administered intragastrically at 25 mg/kg daily to the chrysin-treated mice from 3 days before immunization to 21 days after immunization.Vehicle was administered to the mice in the control group according to the same protocol.Lower clinical and histopathological scores,increased integrity of the blood–retinal barrier(BRB)and higher expression of tight junction proteins were observed in the chrysin-treated mice.Chrysin significantly decreased the proportions of Th1,Th17 and CD4^(+)CD3^(+)CD62L^(+)Th0 cells,and increased the proportion of Treg cells.Both macrophage infiltration and the expression of inducible nitric oxide synthase in the retina were efficiently inhibited by chrysin treatment.In chrysin-treated mice,the expression of interferon-γ,interleukin(IL)-17A,IL-6,IL-1βand tumor necrosis factor-αwas reduced in the retina,whereas higher levels of transforming growth factor-βwere detected.Furthermore,NF-κBp65 was downregulated after chrysin treatment.In conclusion,as an anti-inflammatory molecule,chrysin exerts a preventive effect on EAU by modulating the balance among helper T-cell subsets and suppressing ocular inflammation,thereby maintaining the integrity of the BRB.Xiangda Meng Sijie Fang Zhuhong Zhang Yang Wang Caiyun You Jingkai Zhang Hua Yan 2017Cellular & Molecular Immunology2017,14,8:3
8An Enhanced Direct Anonymous Attestation Scheme with Mutual Authentication for Network-Connected UAV Communication Systems显示文摘In network-connected UAV(NCUAV) communication systems, user authentication is replaced by platform identity authentication and integrity check because many NC-UAVs are operated without human intervention. Direct anonymous attestation(DAA) is an attractive cryptographic scheme that provides an elegant balance between platform authentication and anonymity. However, because of the low-level computing capability and limited transmission bandwidth in UAV, the existing DAA schemes are not suitable for NC-UAV communication systems. In this paper, we propose an enhanced DAA scheme with mutual authentication(MA-DAA scheme), which meets the security requirements of NC-UAV communication systems. The proposed MA-DAA scheme, which is based on asymmetric pairings, bundles the identities of trusted platform module(TPM) and Host to solve the malicious module changing attacks. Credential randomization, batch proof and verification, and mutual authentication are realized in the MA-DAA scheme. 10D609 protects retinal pigmented epithelium as a potential therapy for age-related macular degeneration显示文摘Accumulated oxidative damage may lead to irreversible retinal pigmented epithelium(RPE)cell death,which is considered to be the primary cause of dry age-related macular degeneration(AMD),leading to blindness in the elderly.However,an effective therapy for this disease is lacking.Here,we described a robust high-content screening procedure with a library of 814 protective compounds and found that D609 strongly protected RPE cells from sodium iodate(SI)-induced oxidative cell death and prolonged their healthy survival.D609 effectively attenuated excessive reactive oxygen species(ROS)and prevented severe mitochondrial loss due to oxidative stress in the RPE cells.Surprisingly,the potent antioxidative effects of D609 were not achieved through its own reducibility but were primarily dependent on its ability to increase the expression of metallothionein.The injection of this small water-soluble molecule also showed an explicit protective effect of the RPE layer in an SI-induced AMD mouse model.These findings suggested that D609 could serve as a novel antioxidative protector of RPE cells both in vitro and in vivo and unveiled a novel antioxidative mechanism of D609,which may ultimately have clinical applications for the treatment of AMD.Bowen Wang Li Wang Sijie Gu Yankun Yu Huaxing Huang Kunlun Mo He Xu Fanzhu Zeng Yichen Xiao Lulu Peng Chunqiao Liu Nan Cao Yizhi Liu Jin Yuan Hong Ouyang 2020Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2020,5,1:2

123D Printing of Well Dispersed Electrospun PLGA Fiber Toughened Calcium Phosphate Scaffolds for Osteoanagenesis显示文摘Although the toughening of Calcium phosphate(CaP)scaffold by the addition of fiber has been well recognized,integrated mechanical,structural and functional considerations have been neglected in the design and fabrication of CaP scaffold implant.The emerging 3D printing provides a promising technique to construct CaP scaffold with precise size and elaborate microstructure.However,the most challenge is to extrude smoothly the CaP paste containing fibers for frequently-used extrusion-based 3D printing.In this study,frozen section and chemical dispersant(Pluronic F127,F127)were employed jointly to prepare non-aggregated polylactic-co-glycolic acid(PLGA)fibers.The injectability of CaP pastes with well dispersed PLGA fibers was more than 90%when the content of PLGA fibers was no more than 3 wt%.Meanwhile rheological property of CAP pastes with well dispersed fibers showed shear thinning,which were both beneficial to extrude CaP paste with well dispersed fibers for 3D printing.Moreover,these CaP scaffolds showed ductile fracture behavior due to the pullout and bridging effect of PLGA fibers.The cell proliferation and alkaline phosphatase(ALP)activity indicated that 3D printed CAP scaffold containing PLGA fibers possesses excellent biocompatibility and facilitate osteogenic differentiation ability.Thus,it was feasible to print CaP pastes with well dispersed PLGA fibers to construct toughening CaP scaffolds with the higher shape fidelity and complex structures,which had significant clinical potentials in osteoanagenesis due to their higher toughness and excellent biocompatibility.Guoru Zhao Rongwei Cui You Chen Sijie Zhou Chen Wang Zhangmei Hu Xiaoke Zheng Maohong Li Shuxin Qu 2020Journal of Bionic Engineering2020,17,4:2

14Optimization of the OCO-2 Cloud Screening Algorithm and Evaluation against MODIS and TCCON Measurements over Land Surfaces in Europe and Japan显示文摘A method to tighten the cloud screening thresholds based on local conditions is used to provide more stringent schemes for Orbiting Carbon Observatory-2(OCO-2)cloud screening algorithms.Cloud screening strategies are essential to remove scenes with significant cloud and/or aerosol contamination from OCO-2 observations,which helps to save on the data processing cost and ensure high quality retrievals of the column-averaged CO2 dry air mole fraction(XCO2).Based on the radiance measurements in the 0.76μm O2A band,1.61μm(weak),and 2.06μm(strong)CO2 bands,the current combination of the A-Band Preprocessor(ABP)algorithm and Iterative Maximum A Posteriori(IMAP)Differential Optical Absorption Spectroscopy(DOAS)Preprocessor(IDP)algorithm passes around 20%-25%of all soundings,which means that some contaminated scenes also pass the screening process.In this work,three independent pairs of threshold parameters used in the ABP and IDP algorithms are sufficiently tuned until the overall pass rate is close to the monthly clear-sky fraction from the MODIS cloud mask.The tightened thresholds are applied to observations over land surfaces in Europe and Japan in 2016.The results show improvement of agreement and positive predictive value compared to the collocated MODIS cloud mask,especially in summer and fall.In addition,analysis indicates that XCO2 retrievals with more stringent thresholds are in closer agreement with measurements from collocated Total Carbon Column Observing Network(TCCON)sites.Sijie CHEN Shuaibo WANG Lin SU Changzhe DONG Ju KE Zhuofan ZHENG Chonghui CHENG Bowen TONG Dong LIU 2020Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2020,37,4:1

17UBE3A alleviates isoproterenol-induced cardiac hypertrophy through the inhibition of the TLR4/MMP-9 signaling pathway显示文摘Cardiac hypertrophy is considered to be a leading factor in heart function-related deaths.In this study,we explored the potential mechanism underlying cardiac hypertrophy induced by isoproterenol.Our results showed that isoproterenol induced cardiac hypertrophy in AC16 cells,as reflected by the increased cell surface area and increased hypertrophic markers,which was accompanied by increased ubiquitin-protein ligase E3a(UBE3A)expression.Moreover,UBE3A knockdown by siRNAs accelerated cardiac hypertrophy,suggesting that increased UBE3A expres sion induced by isoproterenol might be a protective response and UBE3A might be a protective factor against cardiac hypertrophy.Our study also revealed that UBE3A knockdown increased the protein expression of the TLR4/MMP-9 pathway that has been shown to be associated with cardiac hypertrophy,which suggested that UBE3A-mediated protection is likely to be associated with the blockade of the TLR4/MMP-9 signaling pathway.UBE3A might be thus a potential target gene for the treatment of cardiac hypertrophy.Yanfei Li Linlin Ma Sijie Gu Jiewen Tian Yilin Cao Zi Jin Jingyi Chen Bingbing Gu Jiayin Tu Zhixiao Wang Xinming Li Zhongping Ning Yueling Jin 2020Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2020,52,1:1
18Mechanisms of Pb(Ⅱ) coprecipitation with natrojarosite and its behavior during acid dissolution显示文摘Lead(Pb) coprecipitation with jarosite is common in natural and engineered environments,such as acid mine drainage(AMD) sites and hydrometallurgical industry. Despite the high relevance for environmental impact, few studies have examined the exact interaction of Pb with jarosite and the dissolution behavior of each phase. In the present work, we demonstrate that Pb mainly interacts with jarosite in four modes, namely incorporation, occlusion,physically mixing, and chemically mixing. For comparison, the four modes of Pb-bearing natrojarosite were synthesized and characterized separately. Batch dissolution experiments were undertaken on these synthetic Pb-bearing natrojarosites under pH_(2) to simulate the AMD environments. The introduction of Pb decreases the final Fe releasing efficiency of jarosite-type compounds from 18.18% to 3.45%-5.01%, showing a remarkable inhibition of their dissolution. For Pb releasing behavior, PbSO_(4) dissolves in preference to Pb-substituted natrojarosite, i.e.,(Na, Pb)-jarosite, which primarily results in the sharp increase of Pb releasing concentration(> 40 mg/L). PbSO_(4) occlusion by jarosite-type compounds can significantly reduce the release of Pb. 19Experimental and numerical study of a gas cyclone with a central filter显示文摘This paper studies a novel gas cyclone with a cylindrical fiter face installed in the center from the vortex finder to the bottom hopper.The experimental results show that this composite cyclone has a higher collection fficiency and a lower pressure drop than the original cyclone.The mechanisms for the improvement are analyzed by both physical experiments and numerical simulations.By measuring dust samples collected at different places it is revealed that the center filter can prevent fine particles from entering the inner vortex and escaping,which accounts for the increase of the collection eficiency.In addition,the flow field of the composite cyclone is simulated by computational fluid dynamics and compared with that of the original cyclone.The analysis shows that with the filter layer installed,the swirling flow disappears in the vortex finder,which decreases the kinetic energy dissipation and hence lowers the pressure drop.Zihui Zhang Sijie Dong Kejun Dong Li'an Hou Wenzheng Wang Yi Wei Bo Wang 2022Particuology2022,20,4:1
20Emerging two-dimensional bismuth oxychalcogenides for electronics and optoelectronics显示文摘Atomically thin two-dimensional(2D)bismuth oxychalcogenides(Bi_(2)O_(2)X,X=S,Se,Te)have recently attracted extensive attention in the material research community due to their unique structure,outstanding long-term ambient stability,and high carrier mobility,which enable them as promising candidates for high-performance electronic and optoelectronic applications.Herein,we present a comprehensive review on the recent advances of 2D bismuth oxychalcogenides research.We start with an introduction of their fundamental properties including crystal structure and electronic band structure.Next,we summarize the common techniques for synthesizing these 2D structures with high crystallinity and large lateral size.Furthermore,we elaborate on their device applications including transistors,artificial synapses,optical switch and photodetectors.The last but not the least,we summarize the existing challenges and prospects for this emerging 2D bismuth oxychalcogenides field.Fakun Wang Sijie Yang Jie Wu Xiaozong Hu Yuan Li Huiqiao Li Xitao Liu Junhua Luo Tianyou Zhai 2021InfoMat2021,3,11:1
