1Prevalence of Autism Spectrum Disorder in China:A Nationwide Multi-center Population-based Study Among Children Aged 6 to 12 Years显示文摘This study aimed to obtain the first national estimate of the prevalence of autism spectrum disorder(ASD) in Chinese children.We targeted the population of 6 to 12-year-old children for this prevalence study by multistage convenient cluster sampling.The Modified Chinese Autism Spectrum Rating Scale was used for the screening process.Of the target population of 142,086 children,88.5%(n=125,806) participated in the study.A total of 363 children were confirmed as having ASD.The observed ASD prevalence rate was 0.29%(95% CI:0.26%-0.32%) for the overall population.After adjustment for response rates,the estimated number of ASD cases was867 in the target population sample,thereby achieving an estimated prevalence of 0.70%(95% CI:0.64%-0.74%).The prevalence was significantly higher in boys than in girls(0.95%;95% CI:0.87%-1.02% versus 0.30%;95%CI:0.26%-0.34%;P <0.001).Of the 363 confirmed ASD cases,43.3% were newly diagnosed,and most of those(90.4%) were attending regular schools,and 68.8% of the children with ASD had at least one neuropsychiatric comorbidity.Our findings provide reliable data on the estimated ASD prevalence and comorbidities in Chinese children.Hao Zhou Xiu Xu Weili Yan Xiaobing Zou Lijie Wu Xuerong Luo Tingyu Li Yi Huang Hongyan Guan Xiang Chen Meng Mao Kun Xia Lan Zhang Erzhen Li Xiaoling Ge Lili Zhang Chunpei Li Xudong Zhang Yuanfeng Zhou Ding Ding Andy Shih Eric Fombonne Yi Zheng Jisheng Han Zhongsheng Sun Yong-hui Jiang Yi Wang LATENT-NHC Study Team 2020Neuroscience Bulletin2020,36,9:158

3Neuroprotective effect of ethyl acetate extract from gastrodia elata against transient focal cerebral ischemia in rats induced by middle cerebral artery occlusion显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the protective effect of neuroprotection against transient focal cerebral ischemia of the extract from Tianma(Rhizoma Gastrodiae) and the possible mechanisms underlying the action.METHODS: Cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury was induced through middle cerebral artery occlusion(MCAO). Adult male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into four groups: sham-operated,ischemia-reperfusion model, 102.6 mg/kg extract treated and 11.4 mg/kg extract treated groups. The extract was prepared from gastrodia elata with ethyl acetate. The effect of the extract tested on rat neurological de fi cits and Cerebral index, cerebral infarct volume, brain injury, terminal dexynucleotidyl transferase-mediated d UTP nick end labeling(TUNEL) and B-cell lymphoma-2(Bcl-2) positive cells.RESULTS: The extract was able to reduce neurological scores, cerebral index and cerebral infarction rate. The brain injury was also relieved by the extract. 4Sulfur-based autotrophic denitrification from the micro-polluted water显示文摘Eutrophication caused by high concentrations of nutrients is a huge problem for many natural lakes and reservoirs. Removing the nitrogen contamination from the low C/N water body has become an urgent need. Autotrophic denitrification with the sulfur compound as electron donor was investigated in the biofilter reactors. Through the lab-scale experiment,it was found that different sulfur compounds and different carriers caused very different treatment performances. Thiosulfate was selected to be the best electron donor and ceramsite was chosen as the suitable carrier due to the good denitrification efficiency, low cost and the good resistibility against the high hydraulic loads. Later the optimum running parameters of the process were determined. Then the pilot-scale experiment was carried out with the real micro-polluted water from the West Lake, China. 5Beclin 1 cleavage by caspase-3 inactivates autophagy and promotes apoptosis显示文摘Autophagy and apoptosis are both highly regulated biological processes that play essential roles in tissue homeostasis,development and diseases.Autophagy is also described as a mechanism of death pathways,however,the precise mechanism of how autophagy links to cell death remains to be fully understood.Beclin 1 is a dual regulator for both autophagy and apoptosis.In this study we found that Beclin 1 was a substrate of caspase-3 with two cleavage sites at positions 124 and 149,respectively.Furthermore,the autophagosome formation occurred,followed by the appearance of morphological hallmarks of apoptosis after staurosporine treatment.The cleavage products of Beclin 1 reduced autophagy and promoted apoptosis in HeLa cells and the cells in which Beclin 1 was stably knocked down by specific shRNA.In addition,the cleavage of Beclin 1 resulted in abrogating the interaction between Bcl-2 with Beclin 1,which could be blocked by z-VAD-fmk.Thus,our results suggest that the cleavage of Beclin 1 by caspase-3 may contribute to inactivate autophagy leading towards augmented apoptosis.Yushan Zhu Lixia Zhao Lei Liu Ping Gao Weili Tian Xiaohui Wang Haijing Jin Haidong Xu Quan Chen 2010Protein & Cell2010,1,5:17
6MiR-30a Positively Regulates the Inflammatory Response of Microglia in Experimental Autoimmune Encephalomyelitis显示文摘Multiple sclerosis(MS) is a classical inflammatory demyelinating disease of the central nervous system(CNS). Microglia are the main resident immune cells in the CNS and are closely associated with the pathogenesis of MS.In the present study, we found that mi R-30 a was highly expressed in jellyfish-like microglia in chronic active lesions of MS patients, as well as in the microglia of mice with experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis(EAE) at the chronic phase. In vitro, the conditioned supernatant of mouse microglia overexpressing miR-30 a promoted the apoptosis of oligodendrocyte precursor cells(OPCs), and inhibited OPC differentiation. In vivo, overexpressing miR-30 a in transplanted microglia exacerbated the progression of EAE.Overexpression and knock-down experiments in primary cultured mouse microglia showed that mi R-30 a increased the expression of IL-1 b and i NOS, which are pro-inflammatory, while inhibiting the expression of Ym-1 and CD206.Mechanistically, mi R-30 a inhibited the expression of Ppargc1 b, which is the co-activator of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma, resulting in pro-inflammatory effects. 7Characteristics and recent trends of sulfur dioxide at urban,rural,and background sites in North China:Effectiveness of control measures显示文摘SO 2 measurements made in recent years at sites in Beijing and its surrounding areas are performed to study the variations and trends of surface SO 2 at different types of sites in Northern China.The overall average concentrations of SO 2 are (16.8±13.1) ppb,(14.8±9.4) ppb,and (7.5±4.0) ppb at China Meteorological Administration (CMA,Beijing urban area),Gucheng (GCH,relatively polluted rural area,110 km to the southwest of Beijing urban area),and Shangdianzi (SDZ,clean background area,100 km to the northeast of Beijing urban area),respectively.The SO 2 levels in winter (heating season) are 4-6 folds higher than those in summer.There are highly significant correlations among the daily means of SO 2 at different sites,indicating regional characteristics of SO 2 pollution.Diurnal patterns of surface SO 2 at all sites have a common feature with a daytime peak,which is probably caused by the downward mixing and/or the advection transport of SO 2 -richer air over the North China Plain.The concentrations of SO 2 at CMA and GCH show highly significant downward trends (-4.4 ppb/yr for CMA and -2.4 ppb/yr for GCH),while a less significant trend (-0.3 ppb/yr) is identified in the data from SDZ,reflecting the character of SDZ as a regional atmospheric background site in North China.The SO 2 concentrations of all three sites show a significant decrease from period before to after the control measures for the 2008 Olympic Games,suggesting that the SO 2 pollution control has long-term effectiveness and benefits.In the post-Olympics period,the mean concentrations of SO 2 at CMA,GCH,and SDZ are (14.3±11.0) ppb,(12.1±7.7) ppb,and (7.5±4.0) ppb,respectively,with reductions of 26%,36%,and 13%,respectively,compared to the levels before.Detailed analysis shows that the differences of temperature,relative humidity,wind speed,and wind direction were not the dominant factors for the significant differences of SO 2 between the pre-Olympics and post-Olympics periods.By extracting the data being more representative of local or regional characteristics,a reduction of up to 40% for SO 2 in polluted areas and a reduction of 20% for regional SO 2 are obtained for the effect of control measures implemented for the Olympic Games.Weili Lin Xiaobin XU Zhiqiang Ma Huarong Zhao Xiwen Liu Ying Wang 2012Journal of Environmental Sciences2012,24,1:15
8Reflective chiral meta-holography: multiplexing holograms for circularly polarized waves显示文摘By allowing almost arbitrary distributions of amplitude and phase of electromagnetic waves to be generated by a layer of sub-wavelength-size unit cells,metasurfaces have given rise to the field of meta-holography.However,holography with circularly polarized waves remains complicated as the achiral building blocks of existing meta-holograms inevitably contribute to holographic images generated by both left-handed and right-handed waves.Here we demonstrate how planar chirality enables the fully independent realization of high-efficiency meta-holograms for one circular polarization or the other.Such circular-polarization-selective meta-holograms are based on chiral building blocks that reflect either left-handed or right-handed circularly polarized waves with an orientation-dependent phase.Using terahertz waves,we experimentally demonstrate that this allows the straightforward design of reflective phase meta-holograms,where the use of alternating structures of opposite handedness yields independent holographic images for circularly polarized waves of opposite handedness with negligible polarization cross-talk.Qiu Wang Eric Plum Quanlong Yang Xueqian Zhang Quan Xu Yuehong Xu Jiaguang Han Weili Zhang 2018Light(Science & Applications)2018,7,1:15
9Highly Stretchable,Elastic,and Sensitive MXene-Based Hydrogel for Flexible Strain and Pressure Sensors显示文摘Electronic skin is driving the next generation of cutting-edge wearable electronic products due to its good wearability and high accuracy of information acquisition.However,it remains a challenge to fulfill the requirements on detecting full-range human activities with existing flexible strain sensors.Herein,highly stretchable,sensitive,and multifunctional flexible strain sensors based on MXene-(Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)-)composited poly(vinyl alcohol)/polyvinyl pyrrolidone double-network hydrogels were prepared.The uniformly distributed hydrophilic MXene nanosheets formed a three-dimensional conductive network throughout the hydrogel,endowing the flexible sensor with high sensitivity.The strong interaction between the double-network hydrogel matrix and MXene greatly improved the mechanical properties of the hydrogels.The resulting nanocomposited hydrogels featured great tensile performance(2400%),toughness,and resilience.Particularly,the as-prepared flexible pressure sensor revealed ultrahigh sensitivity(10.75 kPa^(-1))with a wide response range(0-61.5 kPa),fast response(33.5 ms),and low limit of detection(0.87 Pa).Moreover,the hydrogel-based flexible sensors,with high sensitivity and durability,could be employed to monitor fullrange human motions and assembled into some aligned devices for subtle pressure detection,providing enormous potential in facial expression and phonation recognition,handwriting verification,healthy diagnosis,and wearable electronics.Yao Lu Xinyu Qu Wen Zhao Yanfang Ren Weili Si Wenjun Wang Qian Wang Wei Huang Xiaochen Dong 2020Research2020,,1:14

11Wintertime peroxyacetyl nitrate(PAN) in the megacity Beijing: Role of photochemical and meteorological processes显示文摘Previous measurements of peroxyacetyl nitrate(PAN) in Asian megacities were scarce and mainly conducted for relative short periods in summer. Here, we present and analyze the measurements of PAN, O3, NOx, etc., made at an urban site(CMA) in Beijing from 25 January to 22 March 2010. The hourly concentration of PAN averaged 0.70 × 10 9mol/mol(0.23 × 10 9–3.51 × 10 9mol/mol) and was well correlated with that of NO2but not O3, indicating that the variations of the winter concentrations of PAN and O3in urban Beijing are decoupled with each other. Wind conditions and transport of air masses exert very significant impacts on O3, PAN, and other species. Air masses arriving at the site originated either from the boundary layer over the highly polluted N-S-W sector or from the free troposphere over the W-N sector. The descending free-tropospheric air was rich in O3, with an average PAN/O3ratio smaller than 0.031, while the boundary layer air over the polluted sector contained higher levels of PAN and primary pollutants, with an average PAN/O3ratio of 0.11. These facts related with transport conditions can well explain the observed PAN-O3decoupling. Photochemical production is important to PAN in the winter over Beijing. The concentration of the peroxyacetyl(PA) radical was estimated to be in the range of 0.0014 × 10 12–0.0042 × 10 12 mol/mol. 12A preliminary study of the effects of plastic film-mulched raised beds on soil temperature and crop performance of early-sown short-season spring maize(Zea mays L.) in the North China Plain显示文摘To identify a strategy for earlier sowing and harvesting of spring maize(Zea mays L.) in an alternative maize–maize double cropping system, a 2-year field experiment was performed at Quzhou experimental station of China Agricultural University in 2014 and 2015. A short-season cultivar, Demeiya number 1(KX7349), was used in the experiment. Soil temperature to 5 cm depth in the early crop growth stage, crop growth, crop yield, and water use of different treatments(plastic film-mulched raised bed(RF) and flat field without plastic film mulching(CK) in 2014; RF, plastic film-mulched flat field(FF), and CK in 2015)were measured or calculated and compared. Soil temperature in the film-mulched treatments was consistently higher than that in CK(1.6–3.5 °C in average) during the early growth stage. Crops in plastic film-mulched treatments used 214 fewer growing-degree days(GDDs) in 2014 and 262 fewer GDDs in 2015. In 2014, the RF treatment yielded 32.7%higher biomass than CK, although its 9.4% higher grain yield was not statistically significant. Also, RF used 17.9% less water and showed 33.1% higher water use efficiency(WUE) than CK. In 2015, RF and FF showed 56.2% and 49.5% higher yield, 15.0% and 4.5%lower water use(ET), and 63.4% and 75.7% higher WUE, respectively, than CK. RF markedly increased soil temperature in the early crop season, accelerated crop growth, reduced ET,and greatly increased crop yield and WUE. Compared with FF, RF had no obvious effect on crop growth rate, although soil temperature during the period between sowing and stem elongation was slightly increased. However, RF resulted in lower ET and higher WUE than FF. 13Outcomes in refractory diffuse large B-cell lymphoma:results fromamulticenter real-world study in China显示文摘Background:Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma(DLBCL)patients refractory to rituximab-based immunochemotherapy have a dismal prognosis.However,the definition of refractory DLBCL remains inconsistent and no large cohort study data is available from Asian countries.To validate the definition and outcomes of refractory DLBCL in China,we conducted a multicenter,retrospective cohort study.Methods:The REtrospective AnaLysis of Treatment REspoNse of refractory DLBCL(REAL-TREND)study was performed using real-world data from 8 centers in China.DLBCL patients with curative intent were included in the REAL-TREND dataset.Overall survival(OS)was estimated using the Kaplan-Meier method and compared by the log-rank test.Due to heterogeneity in response rates among different centers,the response rates of refractory patients were pooled using random-effect models.Multivariate survival analysis was performed using the Cox regression model.Results:A total of 2778 DLBCL patients diagnosed between January,2010 and December,2015 were enrolled to this study.After validating previous definitions,the SCHOLAR-1 study was most suitable to define refractory DLBCL.The estimated 5-year cumulative incidence of refractory patients was 20%(95% confidence Interval[CI]=18%-22%).After the determination of refractory disease,overall response rate and complete remission rate were 30%(95%CI=22%-38%)and 9%(95%CI=4%-15%),respectively.Patients with either no response to immunochemotherapy or relapse within 12 months after stem-cell transplantation had inferior survival with a median OS of 5.9 months(95%CI=5.5-7.1 months)and 2-year OS rate of 16%(95%CI=12%-20%).International prognostic index score 4-5(hazard ratio[HR]=2.22;95%CI=1.47-3.35),central nervous systemrelapse(HR=1.43;95%CI=1.04-1.97),and best response status(HR=2.68;95%CI=1.42-5.03 for partial remission.HR=5.97,95%CI=3.21-11.11 for stable disease/progressive disease)were independent unfavorable prognostic factors.Conclusions:This is the first large-scale Asian cohort study focusing on outcomes of refractory DLBCL.The definition of the SCHOLAR-1 study identifies patients with homogenously inferior survival,thus is appropriate to select refractory DLBCL.Due to poor clinical outcomes in the rituximab era,patients with refractory DLBCL may be potential candidates for novel treatment modalities.Shuo Wang Li Wang Jianda Hu Wenbin Qian Xi Zhang Yu Hu Qi Zhu Bobin Chen Depei Wu Chung-Chou H.Chang Pengpeng Xu Xiaoyun Zheng Juying Wei Yao Liu Guohui Cui Yong Tang Yan Ma Haiwen Huang Hongmei Yi Weili Zhao 2021Cancer Communications2021,41,3:10

16Background concentrations of reactive gases and the impacts of long-range transport at the Jinsha regional atmospheric background station显示文摘Lorentz curve fittings are applied to frequency distributions of the concentrations of O 3 , CO, NO x and SO 2 recorded at the Jinsha regional atmospheric background station (JSH) from June 2006 to July 2007, and the peak concentrations of these species for the different seasons are obtained. The peak concentrations are considered to be representative of different background levels for certain processes. The peak concentrations are compared with the corresponding mean (median) concentrations, and the suitability and limitations of the mean (median) values as the background levels are discussed. The mean (median) values might represent the background concentrations in the region under some circumstances, but in other cases these values often underestimate or overestimate the true background concentrations owing to the transport of pollutants and other factors. The effects of air masses transported from different regions on the pollutant background concentrations are obtained by analyzing the 72-hour backward trajectories of air masses 100 m above the ground at JSH. These trajectories are estimated using the HYSPLIT model and then clustered for the measurement period. The spatial distribution and seasonal variations of trajectories and the corresponding mean concentrations of O 3 , SO 2 , NO x and CO for different clusters are analyzed. After filtering the seasonal changes in pollutant concentrations, the relative influences of air masses from different regions are obtained. The results show that JSH can be used to obtain the atmospheric background information of different air masses originating from or passing over the Yangtze River Delta, Central South China and the Jianghan Plain. Air masses from Central China, South China, and the western Yangtze River Delta contribute significantly to O 3 at JSH. Air masses from the north and northeast of JSH (i.e., the Jianghan Plain, Huang-Huai Plain and North China Plain) and the south (Central South China) contribute significantly to SO 2 , CO and NO x concentrations. Air masses originating from the ocean often bring clean air. 17Modifying the Autism Spectrum Rating Scale(6–18 years)to a Chinese Context:An Exploratory Factor Analysis显示文摘The purpose of this study was to explore the psychometric properties of the Chinese version of the autism spectrum rating scale(ASRS). We recruited 1,625community-based children and 211 autism spectrum disorder(ASD) cases from 4 sites, and the parents of all participants completed the Chinese version of the ASRS. A robust weighted least squares means and variance adjusted estimator was used for exploratory factor analysis. The3-factor structure included 59 items suitable for the current sample. The item reliability for the modi?ed Chinese version of the ASRS(MC-ASRS) was excellent. Moreover,with 60 as the cut-off point, receiver operating characteristic analysis showed that the MC-ASRS had excellent discriminate validity, comparable to that of the unmodi?ed Chinese version(UC-ASRS), with area under the curve values of 0.952(95% CI: 0.936–0.967) and 0.948(95% CI:0.930–0.965), respectively. Meanwhile, the con?rm factor analysis revealed that MC-ASRS had a better construct validity than UC-ASRS based on the above factor solution in another children sample. 18Degradation of 4-nitrophenol by electrocatalysis and advanced oxidation processes using Co3O4@C anode coupled with simultaneous CO2 reduction via SnO2/CC cathode显示文摘Herein,we prepa red novel three-dimensional(3D)gear-s haped Co3O4@C(Co3O4 modified by amorphous carbon)and sheet-like SnO2/CC(SnO2 grow on the carbon cloth)as anode and cathode to achieve efficient removal of 4-nitrophenol(4-NP)in the presence of peroxymonosulfate(PMS)and simultaneous electrocatalytic reduction of CO2,respectively.In this process,4-NP was mineralized into CO2 by the Co3O4@C,and the generated CO2 was reduced into HCOOH by the sheet-like SnO2/CC cathode.Compared with the pure Co0.5(Co3O4 was prepared using 0.5 g urea)with PMS(30 mg,0.5 g/L),the degradation efficiency of 4-NP(60 mL,10 mg/L)increased from 74.5%-85.1%in 60 min using the Co0.5 modified by amorphous carbon(Co0.5@C).Furthermore,when the voltage of 1.0 V was added in the anodic system of Co0.5@C with PMS(30 mg,0.5 g/L),the degradation efficiency of 4-NP increased from 85.1%-99.1%when Pt was used as cathode.In the experiments of 4-NP degradation coupled with simultaneous electrocatalytic CO2 reduction,the degradation efficiency of 4-NP was 99.0%in the anodic system of Co0.5@C with addition of PMS(30 mg,0.5 g/L),while the Faraday efficiency(FE)of HCOOH was 24.1%at voltage of-1.3 V using the SnO2/CC as cathode.The results showed that the anode of Co3O4 modified by amorphous carbon can markedly improve the degradation efficiency of 4-NP,while the cathode of SnO2/CC can greatly improve the FE and selectivity of CO2 reduction to HCOOH and the stability of cathode.Finally,the promotion mechanism was proposed to explain the degradation of organic pollutants and reduction of CO2 into HCOOH in the process of electrocatalysis coupled with advanced oxidation processes(AOPs)and simultaneous CO2 reduction.Meng Zhu Longshuai Zhang Shanshan Liu Dengke Wang Yuancheng Qin Ying Chen Weili Dai Yuehua Wang Qiuju Xing Jianping Zou 2020Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,7:7
19Dynamic analysis of granite rockburst based on the PIV technique显示文摘This paper describes the deep rockburst simulation system to reproduce the granite instantaneous rockburst process.Based on the PIV(Particle Image Velocimetry)technique,quantitative analysis of a rockburst,the images of tracer particle,displacement and strain fields can be obtained,and the debris trajectory described.According to the observation of on-site tests,the dynamic rockburst is actually a gas–solid high speed flow process,which is caused by the interaction of rock fragments and surrounding air.With the help of analysis on high speed video and PIV images,the granite rockburst failure process is composed of six stages of platey fragment spalling and debris ejection.Meanwhile,the elastic energy for these six stages has been calculated to study the energy variation.The results indicate that the rockburst process can be summarized as:an initiating stage,intensive developing stage and gradual decay stage.This research will be helpful for our further understanding of the rockburst mechanism.Wang Hongjian Liu Da'an Gong Weili Li Liyun 2015International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2015,25,2:6
20Sedimentation Rate Rhythms:Evidence from Filling of the Tarim Basin,Northwest China显示文摘Variations of sedimentation rate within a basin over geologic time are a time series that can be filtered into several cyclic wave curves. Based on back-stripping and the empirical mode decomposition method, the cores from 14 wells in the Tarim Basin were selected to do filtering analysis. Four cycles or quasi-cycles(33 Ma, 64.4 Ma, 103.6 Ma, and 224 Ma) were obtained. Among these, the 33 Ma period, which was related to the internal earth activity, an external force, or a combination of the two, was the most obvious. The 64.4 Ma period corresponded to the solar system crossing the galaxy plane or the periodic melting of inner-earth material. The 103.6 Ma period was related with plate collisional tectonism around the Tarim Plate.
