1Study of the mechanisms of acupuncture and moxibustion treatmentfor ulcerative colitis ratsinview of the gene expression of cytokines显示文摘AIM To observe the effect of acupuncture and moxibustion on the expression of IL 1β and IL 6 mRNA in ulcerative colitis rats. METHODS The SD rat ulcerative colitis model was created by immunological method associated with local stimulation. Colonic mucosa was prepared from human fresh surgical colonic specimens, homogenized by adding appropriate amount of normal saline and centrifuged at 3000*!r/*!min . The supernatant was collected for measurement of protein conentration and then mixed with Freund adjuvant. This antigen fluid was first injected into the plantae of the model group rats, and then into their plantae, dorsa, inguina and abdominal cavities (no Freund adjuvant for the last injection) again on the 10th, 17th, 24th and 31st day. When a certain titer of serum anti colonic antibody was reached, 2% formalin and antigen fluid (no Freund adjuvant) were administered separately by enema. The ulcerative colitis rat model was thus set up. The animals were randomly divided into four groups: model control group (MC, n =8), electro acupuncture group (EA, n =8), herbs partition moxibustion group (HPM 8), normal control group (NC, n =8). HPM: Moxa cones made of refined mugwort floss were placed on the medicinal pad (medicinal pad dispensing: Radix Aconiti praeparata, cortex Cinnamomi, etc ) for Qihai (RN 6) and Tianshu (ST 25, bilateral) and ignited. Two moxa cones were used for each acupoint once a day and 14 times in all. EA: Tianshu (bilateral) and Qihai were stimulated by the intermittent pulse with 2Hz frequency, 4mA intensity for 20 minutes once a day and 14 times in all. After treatment, rats of all four groups were killed simultaneously. The spleen was separated and the distal colon was dissected. Total tissue RNA was isolated by the guanidinium thiocyanate phenol chloroform extraction method. RT PCR technique was used to study the expression of IL 1β and IL 6 mRNA. RESULTS IL 1β and IL 6 mRNAs were not detected in the spleen and colonic mucosa of the NC rats, whereas they were significantly expressed in that of the MC rats. IL 1β and IL 6 mRNAs were markedly lower in the EA and HPM rats than that in MC rats. There was no significant difference between the levels of IL 1β and IL 6 mRNAs in the EA and HPM rats. The expressions of IL 1β and IL 6 mRNAs were nearly the same in the spleen and colon of all groups. 3Report of Incidence and Mortality in China Cancer Registries,2008显示文摘Objective: Annual cancer incidence and mortality in 2008 were provided by National Central Cancer Registry in China, which data were collected from population‐based cancer registries in 2011. Methods: There were 56 registries submitted their data in 2008. After checking and evaluating the data quality, total 41 registries' data were accepted and pooled for analysis. Incidence and mortality rates by area (urban or rural areas) were assessed, as well as the age‐ and sex‐specific rates, age‐standardized rates, proportions and cumulative rate. Results: The coverage population of the 41 registries was 66,138,784 with 52,158,495 in urban areas and 13,980,289 in rural areas. There were 197,833 new cancer cases and 122,136 deaths in cancer with mortality to incidence ratio of 0.62. The morphological verified rate was 69.33%, and 2.23% of cases were identified by death certificate only. The crude cancer incidence rate in all areas was 299.12/100,000 (330.16/100,000 in male and 267.56/100,000 in female) and the age‐standardized incidence rates by Chinese standard population (ASIRC) and world standard population (ASIRW) were 148.75/100,000 and 194.99/100,000, respectively. The cumulative incidence rate (0-74 years old) was of 22.27%. The crude incidence rate in urban areas was higher than that in rural areas. However, after adjusted by age, the incidence rate in urban was lower than that in rural. The crude cancer mortality was 184.67/100,000 (228.14/100,000 in male and 140.48/100,000 in female), and the age‐standardized mortality rates by Chinese standard population (ASMRC) and by world population were 84.36/100,000 and 114.32/100,000, respectively. The cumulative mortality rate (0-74 years old) was of 12.89%. Age‐adjusted mortality rates in urban areas were lower than that in rural areas. The most common cancer sites were lung, stomach, colon‐rectum, liver, esophagus, pancreas, brain, lymphoma, breast and cervix which accounted for 75% of all cancer incidence. Lung cancer was the leading cause of cancer death, followed by gastric cancer, liver cancer, esophageal cancer, colorectal cancer and pancreas cancer, which accounted for 80% of all cancer deaths. The cancer spectrum varied by areas and sex in rural areas, cancers from digestive system were more common, such as esophageal cancer, gastric cancer and liver cancer, while incidence rates of lung cancer and colorectal cancer were much higher in urban areas. In addition, breast cancer was the most common cancer in urban women followed by liver cancer, gastric cancer and colorectal cancer. Conclusion: Lung cancer, gastric cancer, colorectal cancer, liver cancer, esophageal cancer and female breast cancer contributed to the increased incidence of cancer, which should be paid more attention to in further national cancer prevention and control program. 5Shunting branch of portal vein and stent position predict survival after transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt显示文摘AIM:To evaluate the effect of the shunting branch of the portal vein(PV)(left or right)and the initial stent position(optimal or suboptimal)of a transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt(TIPS).METHODS:We retrospectively reviewed 307 consecu5tive cirrhotic patients who underwent TIPS placement for variceal bleeding from March 2001 to July 2010 at our center.The left PV was used in 221 patients and the right PV in the remaining 86 patients.And,224 and83 patients have optimal stent position and sub-optimal stent positions,respectively.The patients were followed until October 2011 or their death.Hepatic encephalopathy,shunt dysfunction,and survival were evaluated as outcomes.The difference between the groups was compared by Kaplan-Meier analysis.A Cox regression model was employed to evaluate the predictors.RESULTS:Among the patients who underwent TIPS to the left PV,the risk of hepatic encephalopathy(P=0.002)and mortality were lower(P<0.001)compared to those to the right PV.Patients who underwent TIPS with optimal initial stent position had a higher primary patency(P<0.001)and better survival(P=0.006)than those with suboptimal initial stent position.The shunting branch of the portal vein and the initial stent position were independent predictors of hepatic encephalopathy and shunt dysfunction after TIPS,respectively.And,both were independent predictors of survival.CONCLUSION:TIPS placed to the left portal vein with optimal stent position may reduce the risk of hepatic encephalopathy and improve the primary patency rates,thereby prolonging survival.Ming Bai Chuang-Ye He Xing-Shun Qi Zhan-Xin Yin Jian-Hong Wang Wen-Gang Guo Jing Niu Jie-Lai Xia Zhuo-Li Zhang Andrew C Larson Kai-Chun Wu Dai-Ming Fan Guo-Hong Han 2014World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,3:26

10Measurement and Prediction of Insertion Force for the Mosquito Fascicle Penetrating into Human Skin显示文摘Mosquitoes are exceptional in their ability to pierce into human skin with a natural ultimate painless microneedle, namedfascicle. Here the structure of the Aedes albopictus mosquito fascicle is obtained using a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM),and the whole process of the fascicle inserting into human skin is observed using a high-speed video imaging technique. Directmeasurements of the insertion force for mosquito fascicle to penetrate into human skin are reported. Results show that themosquito uses a very low force (average 18 μN) to penetrate into the skin. This force is at least three orders of magnitude smallerthan the reported lowest insertion force for an artificial microneedle with an ultra sharp tip to insert into the human skin. In orderto understand the piercing mechanism of mosquito fascicle tip into human multilayer skin tissue, a numerical simulation isconducted to analyze the insertion process using a nonlinear finite element method. 14副溶血性弧菌免疫磁珠的制备及其应用显示文摘研究比较了不同的免疫磁珠(Immunomagnetic Beads,IMBs)富集捕获副溶血性弧菌的能力。采用两种副溶血性弧菌多克隆抗体,分别包被经羧基和甲苯磺酰胺基基团修饰的磁珠,制备完成5个免疫磁珠(IMB-C1、IMB-C2、IMB-T1、IMB-T2和IMB-T3)。研究引入表面抗体浓度作为评价免疫磁珠捕获能力的特征性参数,两种副溶血性弧菌多克隆抗血清包被的羧基磁珠表现出了较高的表面抗体结合能力,分别为34.25fg/μm2和36.73fg/μm2,明显高于甲苯磺酰胺基磁珠。五个免疫磁珠对副溶血性弧菌捕获能力的研究结果表明:在起始菌液浓度为4.32logCFU/mL时(p<0.05),两个羧基磁珠捕获率达到79%和94%,均优于甲苯磺酰胺基磁珠。采用环介导恒温扩增(loop-mediated isothermal amplification,LAMP)技术对免疫磁珠菌体细胞复合物进行体外扩增,结果表明:磁珠的存在并未影响对菌体细胞的后续分子检测。本研究分析比较了不同免疫磁珠的捕获能力,得到羧基磁珠对副溶血性弧菌的捕获能力比甲苯磺酰胺基磁珠强,直接法和间接法偶联方式对免疫磁珠的富集捕获能力无影响。苏晨曦 孙晓红 卢瑛 赵勇 Vivian C H Wu 潘迎捷 2012食品工业科技2012,33,17:8
