1Unmanned air vehicle flow separation control using dielectric barrier discharge plasma at high wind speed显示文摘The present paper described an experimental investigation of separation control of an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV)at high wind speeds.The plasma actuator was based on Dielectric Barrier Discharge(DBD)and operated in a steady manner.The flow over a wing of UAV was performed with smoke flow visualization in theΦ0.75 m low speed wind tunnel to reveal the flow structure over the wing so that the locations of plasma actuators could be optimized.A full model of the UAV was experimentally investigated in theΦ3.2 m low speed wind tunnel using a six-component internal strain gauge balance.The effects of the key parameters,including the locations of the plasma actuators,the applied voltage amplitude and the operating frequency,were obtained.The whole test model was made of aluminium and acted as a cathode of the actuator.The results showed that the plasma acting on the surface of UAV could obviously suppress the boundary layer separation and reduce the model vibration at the high wind speeds.It was found that the maximum lift coefficient of the UAV was increased by 2.5%and the lift/drag ratio was increased by about 80%at the wind speed of 100 m/s.The control mechanism of the plasma actuator at the test configuration was also analyzed.ZHANG Xin HUANG Yong WANG WanBo WANG XunNian LI HuaXing 2014Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2014,57,6:8
2Leading-edge flow separation control over an airfoil using a symmetrical dielectric barrier discharge plasma actuator显示文摘In order to promote an in-depth understanding of the mechanism of leading-edge flow separation control over an airfoil using a symmetrical Dielectric Barrier Discharge(DBD) plasma actuator excited by a steady-mode excitation, an experimental investigation of an SC(2)-0714 supercritical airfoil with a symmetrical DBD plasma actuator was performed in a closed chamber and a low-speed wind tunnel. The plasma actuator was mounted at the leading edge of the airfoil.Time-resolved Particle Image Velocimetry(PIV) results of the near-wall region in quiescent air suggested that the symmetrical DBD plasma actuator could induce some coherent structures in the separated shear layer, and these structures were linked to a dominant frequency of f0= 39 Hz when the peak-to-peak voltage of the plasma actuator was 9.8 kV. In addition, an analysis of flow structures without and with plasma actuation around the upper side of the airfoil at an angle of attack of18° for a wind speed of 3 m/s(Reynolds number Re = 20000) indicated that the dynamic process of leading-edge flow separation control over an airfoil could be divided into three stages. Initially, this plasma actuator could reinforce the shedding vortices in the separated shear layer. Then, these vortical structures could deflect the separated flow towards the wall by promoting the mixing between the outside flow with a high kinetic energy and the flow near the surface. After that, the plasma actuator induced a series of rolling vortices in the vicinity of the suction side of the airfoil, and these vortical structures could transfer momentum from the leading edge of the airfoil to the separated region, resulting in a reattachment of the separated flow around the airfoil.Xin ZHANG Huaxing LI Yong HUANG Kun TANG Wanbo WANG 2019Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2019,32,5:7

4Mapping and analysis of a spatiotemporal H3K27ac and gene expression spectrum in pigs显示文摘The limited knowledge of genomic noncoding and regulatory regions has restricted our ability to decipher the genetic mechanisms underlying complex traits in pigs. In this study, we characterized the spatiotemporal landscape of putative enhancers and promoters and their target genes by combining H3K27ac-targeted Ch IP-Seq and RNA-Seq in fetal(prenatal days 74–75) and adult(postnatal days 132–150) tissues(brain, liver, heart, muscle and small intestine) sampled from Asian aboriginal Bama Xiang and European highly selected Large White pigs of both sexes. We identified 101,290 H3K27ac peaks, marking 18,521promoters and 82,769 enhancers, including peaks that were active across all tissues and developmental stages(which could indicate safe harbor locus for exogenous gene insertion) and tissue-and developmental stage-specific peaks(which regulate gene pathways matching tissue-and developmental stage-specific physiological functions). We found that H3K27ac and DNA methylation in the promoter region of the XIST gene may be involved in X chromosome inactivation and demonstrated the utility of the present resource for revealing the regulatory patterns of known causal genes and prioritizing candidate causal variants for complex traits in pigs. In addition, we identified an average of 1,124 super-enhancers per sample and found that they were more likely to show tissue-specific activity than ordinary peaks. 5New discoveries from the classic Quaternary mammalian fossil area of Yanjinggou,Chongqing,and their chronological explanations显示文摘Yanjinggou in Wanzhou District of Chongqing is one of the earliest reported and most famous Quaternary mammalian fossil areas in China.The fauna from this area used to be taken as a benchmark for the biochronological comparison of Quaternary paleontology of South China,but the chronology of this fauna has many controversies for the lack of exact locational and stratigraphical records.The present article,on the basis of recent investigations and discoveries,discusses and explains the distribution and biochronology of the mammalian faunas in the Yanjinggou area.The newly discovered Dayakou fissure fauna,including Rhizomys troglodytes,Homotherium sp.,Panthera pardus,Stegodon orientalis,Dicerorhinus sumatrensis,Hesperotherium sinense,Sus sp.,Cervavitus fenqii,Cervus sp.and Muntiacus sp.,is correlated to the middle Early Pleistocene.The presence of Early Pleistocene mammalian fauna in the Yanjinggou area is therefore confirmed.The'Wanhsien fauna'or'Yenchingkou(=Yanjinggou)fauna'as a Mid-Late Pleistocene biostratigraphical datum should be abandoned.The Dayakou fauna and the Upper Cave fauna of Pingba,both in the Yanjinggou area,are correlated to the middle Early Pleistocene and the early Middle Pleistocene in age,respectively.CHEN ShaoKun PANG LiBo HE CunDing WEI GuangBiao HUANG WanBo YUE ZongYing ZHANG XiaoHu ZHANG Hua QIN Li 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,31:4

7Cloning,Functional Characterization and Expression Analysis of the elovl4a Gene in the Large Yellow Croaker(Larimichthys crocea)显示文摘Elovl4 is a fatty acyl elongase which participates in the biosynthesis of long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids(LCPUFA).Herein we isolated and functionally characterized the elovl4a gene in the large yellow croaker Larimichthys crocea,and investigated the regulatory effects of transcription factors Hnf4α,Lxrα,Pparαon the activity of elovl4a promoter.Tissue expression pattern revealed that elovl4a was widely expressed in several tissues and predominantly in brain.Heterologous expression in yeast showed that L.crocea Elovl4a could effectively elongate both C18 and C20 PUFA substrates to C22 fatty acid.In addition,the affinity of large yellow croaker Elovl4a to n-6 series fatty acids is weak and cannot prolong 18:2n-6 and 18:3n-6.Moreover,L.crocea elovl4a reporter activities were elevated by 1.31-,1.39-and 1.48-fold via over-expression of Lxrα,Pparαand Hnf4α,respectively.The above findings can enrich the knowledge of biosynthesis pathway of LC-PUFA in the large yellow croaker and contribute to elucidate the LC-PUFA anabolism mechanism in fish.ZHANG Meng LI Wanbo ZHU Yangyang WANG Weijia WANG Zhiyong 2021Journal of Ocean University of China2021,20,6:0

10Low-frequency blue energy harvesting for sustainable and active anticorrosion显示文摘Engineering materials serving in marine surroundings are inevitably corroded.The corrosive marine conditions can also be utilized to harvest kinetic ocean wave energy to solve this problem.Leveraging water–solid triboelectrification to harvest lowfrequency wave energy for active anticorrosion is promising.Existing techniques are efficient in harnessing environmental energy with frequencies higher than 3 Hz,whereas the dominated ocean waves with optimal wave spectral density fluctuate from 0.45 to 1.5 Hz.Herein,we proposed a highly efficient and sustainable blue energy-powered cathodic protection(BECP)strategy by fusing water–solid triboelectric nanogenerators and cathodic protection technology.Leveraging the highly efficient triboelectrification between the moving water and hydrophobic fluorinated ethylene propylene tube,we developed the built-in power module,enabling the harvest of ocean wave energy lower than 1.5 Hz.The generated volumetric current density is 28.9 mA·m^(-3),5–20 times higher than the values of the reported devices.Moreover,the proposed BECP performs comparably to conventional cathodic protection in corrosion inhibition.Significantly,the proposed approach can be easily applied to ships,buoys,and other offshore platforms to simultaneously realize blue energy harvesting and engineering material protection,providing an alternative to traditional active protection technology.Miaomiao Cui Yawei Feng Hao Wu Yuankai Jin Wanbo Li Zuankai Wang 2023Nano Research2023,16,9:0
11Fetuin-A is an immunomodulator and a potential therapeutic option in BMP4-dependent heterotopic ossification and associated bone mass loss显示文摘Heterotopic ossification(HO)is the abnormal formation of bone in extraskeletal sites.However,the mechanisms linking HO pathogenesis with bone mass dysfunction remain unclear.Here,we showed that mice harboring injury-induced and BMP4-dependent HO exhibit bone mass loss similar to that presented by patients with HO.Moreover,we found that injury-induced hyperinflammatory responses at the injury site triggered HO initiation but did not result in bone mass loss at 1 day post-injury(dpi).In contrast,a suppressive immune response promoted HO propagation and bone mass loss by 7 dpi.Correcting immune dysregulation by PD1/PDL1 blockade dramatically alleviated HO propagation and bone mass loss.We further demonstrated that fetuin-A(FetA),which has been frequently detected in HO lesions but rarely observed in HO-adjacent normal bone,acts as an immunomodulator to promote PD1 expression and M2 macrophage polarization,leading to immunosuppression.Intervention with recombinant FetA inhibited hyperinflammation and prevented HO and associated bone mass loss.Collectively,our findings provide new insights into the osteoimmunological interactions that occur during HO formation and suggest that FetA is an immunosuppressor and a potential therapeutic option for the treatment of HO.Chen Kan Jiazhao Yang Haitao Fan Yuanjuan Dai Xingxing Wang Rui Chen Jia Liu Xiangyue Meng Wei Wang Guiling Li Jiao Zhou Ya Zhang Wanbo Zhu Shiyuan Fang Haiming Wei Hong Zheng Siying Wang Fang Ni 2022Bone Research2022,10,4:0
