| 1 | Improved hemostatic effects by Fe^(3+)modified biomimetic PLLA cotton-like mat via sodium alginate grafted with dopamine显示文摘The development of an excellent,bioabsorbable hemostatic material for deep wound remains a challenge.In this work,a biodegradable cotton-like biomimetic fibrous mat of poly(L-lactic acid)(PLLA)was made by melt spinning.Subsequently,SD composite was prepared by cross-linking sodium alginate(SA)with dopamine(DA).It was immobilized on the fibre surface,which inspired by mussel byssus.Finally,Fe^(3+)was loaded onto the 0.5SD/PLLA composite by chelation with the carboxyl of alginate and phenolic hydroxy of dopamine.The haemostasis experiment found that the hemostatic time 47 s in vitro.However,the bleeding volume was 0.097 g and hemostatic time was 23 s when 20Fe^(3+)-0.5SD/PLLA was applied in the haemostasis of the rat liver.As a result of its robust hydrophilicity and bouffant cotton-like structure,it could absorb a large water from blood,which could concentrate the component of blood and reduce the clotting time.Furthermore,the addition of Fe^(3+)in the 0.5SD/PLLA had a significant effect on improve hemostatic property.It also displayed excellent antibacterial property for Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus.Notably,it possesses superior hemocompatibility,cytocompatibility and histocompatibility.Hence,20Fe^(3+)-0.5SD/PLLA has high potential application in haemostasis for clinical settings due to its outstanding properties. | Caili Lv Linlong Li Zixue Jiao Huanhuan Yan Zongliang Wang Zhenxu Wu Min Guo Yu Wang Peibiao Zhang | 2021 | Bioactive Materials2021,6,8: | 3 |
| 2 | Improving Interfacial Adhesion of PLA/Lignin Composites by One-Step Solvent-Free Modification Method显示文摘To clarify the effects of lignin as a biodegradable filler added into the PLA matrix,PLA/lignin composites with or without silane coupling agent ofγ-(2,3-epoxypropoxy)propy trimethoxysilane(KH560)were prepared by a one-step solvent-free modification method.The effects of KH560 as a compatibilizer on the morphology,chemical structure,crystallization behavior,thermal degradative behavior as well as mechanical strength of the PLA/lignin composites were analyzed in detail.It was found that,after modification by KH560,the fractured surfaces of composites became smooth,suggested sufficient bonding between the lignin and PLA in the composites with KH560 coupling agent molecules.This result further proved by 1H NMR and ATR spectra of the composites that lignin and PLA formed stable chemical bonds with KH560.Due to the toughening effect of KH560,mainly affect the molecular chain mobility,the thermodynamic properties of LG-KH560/PLA composites were all reduced.When compared to the conventional solution modification method of adding silane coupling agents into PLA/lignin,the composites were synthesized via a single-step reactive extrusion modification procedure in this work showed relatively low tensile strength,which mainly because the existence of the free radicals due to coupling agents result in the composite’s deterioration and subsequent weakening of the tensile properties. | Ningning Wang Caili Zhang Wenqin Zhu Yunxuan Weng | 2020 | Journal of Renewable Materials2020,8,9: | 1 |

| 4 | 人参皂甙Rg3对人喉鳞癌Hep-2细胞分泌性VEGF的影响(英文)显示文摘Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the affecting of Rg3 to secreted VEGF of human laryngeal carcinoma Hep-2 cells and its mechanism of inhibition to tumor angiogenesis. Methods: Cultured human laryngeal cancer cell line Hep-2 and human vascular endothelial cells in vitro, cells got into the period of exponential phase of growth, was diviced into 3 groups: group I(control group), group II(DDP group), group III(Rg3 group). Added to the Hep-2 cells Rg3 and DDP, made Rg3 final concentration was 300 μg/mL, and DDP was 3 μg/mL. 48 h later, specimens from sample to be done immunocytochemistry, and the protein of VEGF in Hep-2 cells to be detected. Collecting Hep-2 cells supernatant, some was used to measure the protein level of VEGF in Hep-2 cells supernatant by ELISA. Some was used to culture HVEC. 24 h later,cell growth inhibition rate of human vascular endothelial was determined by MTT. Results: The protein level of VEGF was evidently higher in group I compared to group II and group III, it was not only in Hep-2 cells, but also in supernatant of Hep-2 cells.There was no significantly different between group II and group III. MTT results showed that, the human vascular endothelial cell growth inhibition rate of group I was significantly lower than that of group II and group III(P < 0.05). At the same time the HVEC growth inhibition rate of group II was significantly lower than that of group III(P < 0.05). Conclusion: The inhibition to tumor angiogenesis of Rg3 is stronger than traditional chemotherapy drug cisplatin. | 8 | Flotation kinetics performance of different coal size fractions with nanobubbles显示文摘The flotation kinetics of different size fractions of conventional and nanobubble(NB) flotation were compared to investigate the effect of NBs on the flotation performance of various coal particle sizes. Six flotation kinetics models were selected to fit the flotation data, and NBs were observed on a hydrophobic surface under hydrodynamic cavitation by atomic force microscope scanning. Flotation results indicated that the best flotation performance of size fraction at-0.125+0.074 mm can be obtained either in conventional or NB flotation. NBs increase the combustible recovery of almost all the size fractions, but they increase the product ash content of-0.25+0.074 mm and reduce the product ash content of-0.045 mm at the same time. The first-order models can be used to fit the flotation data in conventional and NB flotation, and the classical first-order model is the most suitable one. NBs considerably enhance flotation rate on coarse size fraction(-0.5+0.25 mm) but decrease the flotation rate of the medium size(-0.25+0.074 mm). | 14 | Bioprosthetic Valve Size Selection to Optimize Aortic Valve ReplacementSurgical Outcome: A Fluid-Structure Interaction Modeling Study显示文摘Aortic valve replacement(AVR)remains a major treatment option for patients with severe aortic valve disease.Clinical outcome of AVR is strongly dependent on implanted prosthetic valve size.Fluid-structure interaction(FSI)aortic root models were constructed to investigate the effect of valve size on hemodynamics of the implanted bioprosthetic valve and optimize the outcome of AVR surgery.FSI models with 4 sizes of bioprosthetic valves(19(No.19),21(No.21),23(No.23)and 25 mm(No.25))were constructed.Left ventricle outflow track flow data from one patient was collected and used as model flow conditions.Anisotropic Mooney–Rivlin models were used to describe mechanical properties of aortic valve leaflets.Blood flow pressure,velocity,systolic valve orifice pressure gradient(SVOPG),systolic cross-valve pressure difference(SCVPD),geometric orifice area,and flow shear stresses from the four valve models were compared.Our results indicated that larger valves led to lower transvalvular pressure gradient,which is linked to better post AVR outcome.Peak SVOPG,mean SCVPD and maximum velocity for Valve No.25 were 48.17%,49.3%,and 44.60%lower than that from Valve No.19,respectively.Geometric orifice area from Valve No.25 was 52.03%higher than that from Valve No.19(1.87 cm2 vs.1.23 cm2).Implantation of larger valves can significantly reduce mean flow shear stress on valve leaflets.Our initial results suggested that larger valve size may lead to improved hemodynamic performance and valve cardiac function post AVR.More patient studies are needed to validate our findings. | Caili Li Dalin Tang Jing Yao Christopher Baird Haoliang Sun Chanjuan Gong Luyao Ma Yanjuan Zhang Liang Wang Han Yu Chun Yang Yongfeng Shao | 2021 | Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences2021,,4: | 1 |

| 20 | Computational Modeling of Human Bicuspid Pulmonary Valve Dynamic Deformation in Patients with Tetralogy of Fallot显示文摘Pulmonary valve stenosis(PVS)is one common right ventricular outflow tract obstruction problem in patients with tetralogy of Fallot(TOF).Congenital bicuspid pulmonary valve(BPV)is a condition of valvular stenosis,and the occurrence of congenital BPV is often associated with TOF.Dynamic computational models of normal pulmonary root(PR)with tri-leaflet and PR with BPV in patients with TOF were developed to investigate the effect of geometric structure of BPV on valve stress and strain distributions.The pulmonary root geometry included valvular leaflets,sinuses,interleaflet triangles and annulus.Mechanical properties of pulmonary valve leaflet were obtained from biaxial testing of human PV leaflet,and characterized by an anisotropic Mooney-Rivlin model.The complete cardiac cycle was simulated to observe valve leaflet dynamic stress/strain behaviors.Our results indicated that stress/strain distribution patterns of normal tri-leaflet pulmonary valve(TPV)and the BPV were different on valve leaflets when the valve was fully open,but they were similar when valves were completely closed.When the valve was fully open,the BPV maximum stress value on the leaflets was 197.2 kPa,which was 94.3%higher than of the normal TPV value(101.5 kPa).During the valve was fully open,the stress distribution in the interleaflet triangles region of the PR was asymmetric in the BPV model compared with that in the TPV model.The geometric orifice area value in the completely opened position of BPV model was reduced 55.6%from that of the normal PV.Our initial results demonstrated that valve geometrical variations with BPV may be a potential risk factor linked to occurrence of PVS in patients with TOF.Computational models could be a useful tool in identifying possible linkage between valve disease development and biomechanical factors.Large-scale clinical studies are needed to validate these preliminary findings. | Caili Li Christopher Baird Jing Yao Chun Yang Liang Wang Han Yu Tal Geva Dalin Tang | 2019 | Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences2019,,4: | 0 |
