| 1 | Expression Analysis of miRNAs and Highly-expressed Small RNAs in Two Rice Subspecies and their Reciprocal Hybrids显示文摘Heterosis,or hybrid vigor,is the phenomenon whereby progeny of two inbred lines exhibit superior agronomic performance compared with either parent.We analyzed the expression of miRNAs and highly expressed small RNAs (defined according to Solexa sequencing results) in two rice (Oryza sativa) subspecies (japonica cv.Nipponbare and indica cv.93-11) and their reciprocal hybrids using microarrays.We found that of all the 1141 small RNAs tested,140 (12%,140 of 1141) and 157 (13%,157 of 1141) were identified being significantly differentially expressed in two reciprocal hybrids,respectively.All possible modes of action,including additive,high-and low-parent,above high-and below low-parent modes were exhibited.Both F1 hybrids showed non-additive expression patterns,with downregulation predominating.Interestingly,15 miRNAs displayed stark opposite expression trends relative to midparent in reciprocal hybrids.Computational prediction of targets of differentially expressed miRNAs showed that they participated in multifaceted developmental pathways,and were not distinguishable from the targets of non-differentially expressed miRNAs.Together,our findings reveal that small RNAs play roles in heterosis and add a new layer in the understanding and exploitation of molecular mechanisms of heterosis. | Fangfang Chen Guangming He Hang He Wei Chen Xiaopeng Zhu Manzhong Liang Liangbi Chen Xing Wang Deng | 2010 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2010，52，11： | 10 |
| 2 | Generation of 33 fs pulses directly from a Kerr-lens mode-locked Yb:CaYAlO4 laser显示文摘We experimentally demonstrated a diode-pumped Kerr-lens mode-locked femtosecond laser with a Yb:CaYAlO4 crystal as the gain medium. Pulse duration as short as 33 fs was obtained directly from the oscillator at a repetition rate of 115 MHz. The central wavelength was at 1059 nm with a spectral bandwidth of 49 nm. | 4 | Meta analysis of olfactory ensheathing cell transplantation promoting functional recovery of motor nerves in rats with complete spinal cord transection显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the effects of olfactory ensheathing cell transplantation on functional recovery of rats with complete spinal cord transection.DATA SOURCES: A computer-based online search of Medline(1989–2013),Embase(1989–2013),Cochrane library(1989–2013),Chinese Biomedical Literature Database(1989–2013),China National Knowledge Infrastructure(1989–2013),VIP(1989–2013),Wanfang databases(1989–2013) and Chinese Clinical Trial Register was conducted to collect randomized controlled trial data regarding olfactory ensheathing cell transplantation for the treatment of complete spinal cord transection in rats.SELECTION CRITERIA: Randomized controlled trials investigating olfactory ensheathing cell transplantation and other transplantation methods for promoting neurological functional recovery of rats with complete spinal cord transection were included in the analysis.Meta analysis was conducted using Rev Man 4.2.2 software.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Basso,Beattie and Bresnahan scores of rats with complete spinal cord transection were evaluated in this study.RESULTS: Six randomized controlled trials with high quality methodology were included.Meta analysis showed that Basso,Beattie and Bresnahan scores were significantly higher in the olfactory ensheathing cell transplantation group compared with the control group(WMD = 3.16,95% CI(1.68,4.65); P < 0.00001).CONCLUSION: Experimental studies have shown that olfactory ensheathing cell transplantation can promote the functional recovery of motor nerves in rats with complete spinal cord transection. | Jun Liu Ping Chen Qi Wang Yu Chen Hailong Yu Junxiong Ma Mingming Guo Meihui Piao Weijian Ren Liangbi Xiang | 2014 | Neural Regeneration Research2014，9，20： | 4 |
| 5 | Ectopic expression of fungal EcGDH improves nitrogen assimilation and grain yield in rice显示文摘NADP(H)-dependent glutamate dehydrogenases(GDH) in lower organisms have stronger ammonium affinity than those in higher plants. Here we report that transgenic rice overexpressing the EcGDH from Eurotium cheralieri exhibited significantly enhanced aminating activities. | 7 | Positional distribution of fatty acids on the glycerol backbone during the biosyn-thesis of glycerolipids in Ectocarpus fasciculatus显示文摘The biosynthesis of glycolipids in E.fascicula-tus was studied by 14C label and chase. The fatty acids in sulphoquinovosyl diacylglycerol (SQDG) were almost 16-car-bon and 18-carbon ones. In addition to the two fatty acids, monogalactosyl diacylglycerol (MGDG) and digalactosyl diacylglycerol (DGDG) contained 8.5 mol% and 31.0 mol% of eicosapentaenoic acid (20 : 5), respectively, and this fatty acid was usually distributed in the sn-1 position of the glyc-erol backbone. When plants were incubated with [2-14C] acetate, differences existed in the positional distribution of the labeled fatty acids in sn-1 and sn-2 among the three glycerolipids. In SQDG, 14C-labeled fatty acids were distributed uniformly in the sn-1 and sn-2 positions. In DGDG, 14C-labeled fatty acids were mainly distributed in the sn-2 position. | 8 | Residual stress relaxation in typical weld joints and its effect on fatigue and crack growth显示文摘Many factors influence the fatigue and crack growth behavior of welded joints. Some structures often undergo fairly large static loading before they enter service or variable amplitude cyclic loading when they are in service. The combined effect of both applied stress and high initial residual stress is expected to cause the residual stresses relaxation. Only a few papers seem to deal with appropriate procedures for fatigue analysis and crack growth by considering the combined effect of variable amplitude cyclic loading with residual stresses relaxation. In this article, some typical welded connections in ship-shaped structures are investigated with 3-D elastic-plastic finite element analysis. The effect of residual stress relaxation, initial residual stress, and the applied load after variable amplitude cyclic loading is revealed, and a formula for predicting the residual stress at hot spot quantitatively is proposed. Based on the formula, an improved fatigue procedure is introduced. | 10 | Natural variation of H3K27me3 modification in two Arabidopsis accessions and their hybrid显示文摘Histone modifications affect gene expression, but hthe mechanism and biological consequence of natural variation igin histone modifications remain unclear. Here, we generated Hgenome-wide integrated maps of H3K27me3 modification and transcriptome for Col, C24 and their F1 hybrid. A total of 1,828 genomic regions showing variation in H3K27me3 modification between Col and C24 were identified, most of which were associated with genic regions. Natural variation of H3K27me3 modification between parents could result in allelic bias of H3K27me3 in hybrids. Furthermore, we found that H3K27me3 variation between Col and C24 was negatively correlated with gene expression differences between two accessions, especially with those arising from the cis-effect. | 16 | Depletion of phosphatidyl-glycerol head-group induces changes in oxygen evolution and protein secondary structures of photosystem Ⅱ显示文摘The techniques of oxygen electrode polarogra-phy and Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy were employed to explore the roles of polar head-group of phosphatidylglycerol (PG) molecules in the functional and structural aspects of photosystem Ⅱ (PS Ⅱ) through enzymatic approach. It was shown that the depletion of PG by treatment of phospholipase C (PLC) on PS Ⅱ particles caused the inhibition of oxygen evolving activity in PS Ⅱ. This effect also gave rise to changes in the protein secondary structures of PS Ⅱ, that is, an increase in a-helical conformation which is compensated by the loss of p-strand structures. It revealed that the head-group of PG molecules plays an important structural role in the maintenance of normal structure of PS Ⅱ proteins, which is required to maintain the appropriate physiological activity of the PS Ⅱ complex such as the oxygen evolving activity.
