3Influence of Sc Addition on Precipitation Behavior and Properties of Al-Cu-Mg Alloy显示文摘In this study, the Al-5.10Cu-0.65 Mg alloys without and with 0.2 wt% Sc addition were prepared to unveil the effect of Sc on the precipitate behavior and properties by atomic-scale scanning transmission electron microscopy. The results show that addition of Sc is able to significantly suppress the formation of the peak-hardening θ’ and S precipitates but in favor of stabilizing Guinier–Preston–Bagaryatsky(GPB) zones during isothermal aging at 180 ℃. The generation of unique GPB precursors dictating the evolution of the subsequent peak-hardening GPB zones is highly correlated with the insufficient vacancies and dragging effect of Sc to Cu in the Al-Cu-Mg-Sc alloy, thereby restricting the nucleation of θ′ and S precipitates owing to the decreased available Cu solutes. In property, 0.2 wt% Sc addition can not only enhance the corrosion resistance but also the electrical conductivity of the peak-hardening alloy. In addition, the peak-hardening Al-Cu-Mg-Sc alloy is also featured with increased strength without losing the ductility compared to its solid solution state. Further analyses indicate that the improved properties are essentially attributed to the formation of densely distributed strain-free GPB zones and smaller precipitate-free zones. 9Control on Gradient Adhesive Loading of Porous Laminate:Effects on Multiple Performance of Composites with Bamboo Bundle and Sliver显示文摘Elementary units“bamboo bundle”and“bamboo sliver”were processed and cross-linked as“bamboo-bundle veneer(BBV)”and“bamboo-sliver veneer(BSV)”for preparation of laminated composites.The concept of“high-content-adhesive surface treatment”was raised to improve boards’performance,rather than increasing adhesive absorption of every layer’s porous unit.That is,some BBVs experienced an extra“dipping&drying”to absorb more resin(named“HBBV”).The effect of the amount of knitting threads was also discussed for influencing BBV’s quality.Results indicated that light transmittance of BBVs decreased as the amount of threads added from 3 to 8,while mechanical stiffness increased.Adding two skin layers of HBBVs symmetrically was helpful to enhance 24-hour underwater and 28-hour“boil-dry-boil”dimensional stability for boards with BSVs as core,while more than two pairs of HBBVs were needed to improve 28-hour“boil-dry-boil”dimensional stability of boards with BBVs as core.Two symmetrical surface layers of BBVs/HBBVs provided BSV-boards/BBV-boards with greater bending resistance,while such“surface treatment”would not raise shearing strength of BSV-boards upon 28-hour“boil-dry-boil”treatment.Besides,the data obtained from drop-hammer impact test indicated that more than two pair of surface BBVs or HBBVs were required for significant improvement in anti-impact property.Jianchao Deng Haiying Zhou Fuming Chen Shuangbao Zhang Ge Wang 2021Journal of Renewable Materials2021,9,9:0
10Metal-organic framework-derived Co nanoparticles and single atoms as efficient electrocatalyst for pH universal hydrogen evolution reaction显示文摘Hydrogen release through water splitting is essential for reducing carbon emissions and promoting the hydrogen economy.One of the crucial challenges for industrial applications of water electrolysis is the manufacture of electrocatalysts which can reduce the kinetic energy barrier of the hydrogen evolution reaction(HER).Loading transition metal(TM)nanoparticles(NPs)or single atoms(SAs)into heteroatom-doped carbon materials(HCMs)is an effective method to improve electrochemical activity and stability.To this end,we synthesized N-doped porous carbon(NC)encapsulated Co NPs and isolated Co SA nanocatalysts(denoted as Co NPs@SAs-NC)using metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)as sacrificial precursors.The Co NPs@SAs-NC nanocatalysts displayed outstanding HER activity with a 110 mV overpotential in 1 M KOH,47 mV overpotential in 0.5 M H2SO4 and 171 mV in 0.5 M phosphate-buffered saline(PBS)to reach a current density of 10 mA·cm^(−2).In addition,the mechanism of the synergistic effect of Co NPs,Co SAs and N species was investigated in-depth using in situ shielding experiments and density functional theory(DFT)calculations.Rui jiang Qian Li Xue Zheng Weizhe Wang Shuangbao Wang Zhimou Xu Jiabin Wu 2022Nano Research2022,15,9:0

12Mechanical and Rheological Properties of Bamboo Pulp Fiber Reinforced High Density Polyethylene Composites:Influence of Nano CaCO_(3)Treatment and Manufacturing Process with Different Pressure Ratings显示文摘In order to investigate the effect of the relative motion of nano CaCO_(3)reinforced bamboo pulp fiber(BPF)/HDPE composite components on the mechanical performance,a comparative study was performed.BPF was treated by nano CaCO_(3)blending(BM)and impregnation modification(IM)technology.The composites were produced using hot press(HPMP),extrusion(EMP)and injection molding process(IMP).The physical morphology of BPF was similar at different manufacturing processes.Compared to the samples manufactured by HPMP,a decrease in the(specific)flexural strength of BPF/HDPE composites and an increase in those of composites treated by nano CaCO_(3)manufactured by EMP and IMP were observed.The injection molded composites exhibited the best values in the(specific)impact strength,(specific)tensile properties.IM had a greater effect on the rheological behavior of the composites than BM,and nano CaCO_(3)treatment most effectively affected the performance of the extrusion molded composites.Cuicui Wang Xin Wei Lee MSmith Ge Wang Shuangbao Zhang Haitao Cheng 2022Journal of Renewable Materials2022,10,7:0
13Cultivation Influences on Soil Organic Carbon Associated with Texture in Seasonally Frozen Zones显示文摘[Objective] This study aimed to examine indicative roles of texture representing soil organic carbon presence and variability subsequent to cultivation under cold temperate climates with seasonal freeze-thaw events. [Method] Three chronosequences were selected for paired comparisons. Soil samples were collected at six depths with a 10 cm increment. Analysis of variance with general linear model and regression was performed for statistical analysis. [Result] In seasonally frozen soils where fragmentation of macroaggregates was stimulated, soil organic carbon level was positively associated with clay + silt proportion due to a wider textural range, better than sole clay content. Exponential function better fitted the experimental data to present progressively increased effectiveness of clay + silt content in maintaining carbon. Clay content explained 12%-41% and 14%-43% of variation via linear and exponential functions, respectively. Accordingly, clay + silt content explained 47%-65% and 46%-70%. [Conclusion] Texture reflected soil organic carbon occurrence as consequences of reclamation. For seasonally frozen soils with wider textural ranges, it is robust to adapt clay + silt content as dependent variable and exponential function.
