1Efficacy of Banxia Xiexin decoction in a rat model of chronic atrophic gastritis显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effectiveness of Banxia Xiexin decoction(BXD)in a rat model of chronic atrophic gastritis(CAG).METHODS:Sixty 6-week-old healthy Wistar rats(30 males,30 females)were used in the present study.A rat model of CAG was successfully established using the combined active immunization/ethanol/sodium deoxycholate method.BXD was prepared from a mixture of seven Chinese herbs,and was intragastrically administered to CAG rats at three different doses(6,12,and 24 g·kg^-1·d^-1).Af-ter 24 weeks,the rats were euthanized,and gastric tissue specimens were collected.Gastric mucosal specimens were stained with hematoxylin and eosin for histological examination to evaluate the degree of inflammation and morphological changes.Immunohistochemical staining was performed to examine the mucosal expression of proliferating cell nuclear antigen.Serum gastrin levels were measured using radioimmunoassay.The expression of Notch signaling-associated genes was examined by quantitative polymerase chain reaction and Western blot assay.RESULTS:BXD at all three doses significantly reversed the adverse effects generated by CAG in rats.Compared with control rats,the CAG rats who were administered BXD had an accelerated growth rate,reduced inflammatory cell infiltration,improved gastric mucosal morphology,augmented thickness of the gastric mucosa,increased number of gastric glands,enhanced mucosal expression of proliferating cell nuclear antigen,and elevated serum gastrin levels.Bai Yu Chen Yongcan Chen Yu Yan Maoxiang Wei Hongquan Wang Hengcang Zeng Guoliang Yang Xiyin 2019Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2019,39,6:14

3Effect of a Traditional Chinese Medicine combined therapy on adolescent idiopathic scoliosis:a randomized controlled trial显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the effectiveness of a combined Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) therapy versus conventional treatment on adolescent idiopathic scoliosis.METHODS:One hundred twenty outpatients with mild and moderate adolescent idiopathic scoliosis were randomly divided into a TCM group(TCMG)and a brace group(CG).TCMG patients underwent Daoyin,Tuina,and acupotomology therapies.CG patients were treated with a Milwaukee brace.Each patient's Cobb angle was measured after 12 and 24 months of treatment,and pulmonary function was determined after 12 months of treatment.Average electromyogram(AEMG) ratio of the surface electromyogram was measured after 6 and 12 months of treatment and followed-up after 18 and 24 months.RESULTS:The Cobb angle significantly decreased in both groups after 12 months of treatment compared with before treatment(P< 0.05).The percentages of original Cobb angle in TCMG and CG were51.4%and 47.8%(P > 0.05) after 12 months and62.5%and 34.7%(P < 0.05) after 24 months,respectively.Pulmonary function significantly improved after 12 months in TCMG(P < 0.05) but significantly decreased in CG(P < 0.05).The AEMG ratio was significantly lower(P < 0.01) and tended to remain at1 after stopping treatment in TCMG,but increased in CG(P<0.05).CONCLUSION:TCM combined therapy can prevent the progression of scoliosis.The AEMG ratio is a promising index that could replace radiography in the evaluation of treatment effect and progression in scoliosis.Wei Hui Xu Jinyuan Jiang Zhong Ye Shuliang Song Hongquan Ning Xitao Huang Huanmin Chen Wei Pei Jianwei Jiang Nengyi Chen Shao Du Honggen 2015Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2015,35,5:9
4Kindlin-2 expression in adult tissues correlates with their embryonic origins显示文摘Kindlin-2 functions in the maintenance of homeostasis and in human diseases.This study investigated the interrelationship between Kindlin-2 expression in tissues and the corresponding germ layers from which these tissues originated.Kindlin-2 expression was examined in normal adult human organs and human cancer tissues by immunohistochemical analyses.Analysis of Kindlin-2 mRNA levels in adult human organs in the Oncomine dataset revealed Kindlin-2 is highly expressed in mesoderm-derived organs.However,Kindlin-2 was negative or weakly expressed in endoderm/ectoderm-derived organs.Interestingly,the abnormal expression of Kindlin-2 was observed in a variety of human cancers.In agreement with its expression profile in humans,Kindlin-2 was also highly expressed in mesoderm-derived organs in mouse embryos with the exception of strong Kindlin-2 expression in ectoderm-derived spinal cord and ganglia,tissues that are highly mobile during embryonic development.Importantly,we demonstrated the expression level of Kindlin-2 in adult organs correlated with their embryonic dermal origins and deregulation of Kindlin-2 in tissues is associated with tumor progression.This finding will help us understand the dual role of Kindlin-2 in the regulation of tumor progression and embryonic development.ZHAN Jun YANG Mei CHI XiaoChun ZHANG Jing PEI XueLian REN CaiXia GUO YongQing LIU Wei ZHANG HongQuan 2014Science China(Life Sciences)2014,57,7:8

6Fast Secret Key Generation Based on Dynamic Private Pilot from Static Wireless Channels显示文摘In static or quasi-static wireless channel environments, secret key generation(SKG) based on wireless channels is vulnerable to active attacks due to the openness and invariance of public pilot, especially man-inthe-middle(MITM) attacks, where attacker acts as a transparent relay to manipulate channel measurements and derive the generated keys. In order to fight against this attack, a dynamic private pilot is designed, where both private pilot and secret key are derived from the characteristics of wireless channels and private to third party. In static or quasi-static environments, we use singular value decomposition techniques to reconstitute the wireless channels to improve the randomness of the wireless channels. Private pilot can encrypt and authenticate the wireless channels, which can make channel state information intercepted by MITM attacker reduced to zero and the SKG rate close to that without attacks. 8CBP-mediated Slug acetylation stabilizes Slug and promotes EMT and migration of breast cancer cells显示文摘Slug,a member of the Snail family of transcriptional repressors,plays a key role in cancer progression,cellular plasticity,and epithelial to mesenchymal transition(EMT).Slug is a fast-turnover protein and its stability is controlled by post-translational modifications.Here,we identified that Slug is acetylated by acetyltransferase CREB-binding protein(CBP)in breast cancer cells.CBP directly interacts with the C-terminal domain of Slug through its catalytic histone acetyltransferase(HAT)domain,leading to acetylation of Slug at lysines 166 and 211.Analysis with acetylation-specific antibodies revealed that Slug is highly acetylated in metastatic breast cancer cells.Notably,Slug acetylation,mediated by CBP at lysines 166 and 211,doubles its halflife and increases its stability.Further,acetylated Slug downregulates the expression of E-cadherin,the epithelial marker,and upregulates the expression of N-cadherin and vimentin,thereby promoting breast cancer cell migration.In conclusion,the present study demonstrates that CBP-mediated Slug acetylation increases its stability,promoting EMT and migration of breast cancer cells.Xiaoyan Dai Yanli Xin Weizhi Xu Xinxia Tian Xiaofan Wei Hongquan Zhang 2021Science China(Life Sciences)2021,64,4:4
9The application of three-dimensional seismic spectral decomposition and semblance attribute to characterizing the deepwater channel depositional elements in the Taranaki Basin of New Zealand显示文摘In the past few years, three-dimensional(3-D) seismogram has become an essential tool for the interpretation of subsurface stratigraphy and depositional systems. Seismic stratigraphy in conjunction with seismic geomorphology has elevated the degree to which seismic data can facilitate geological interpretation, especially in a deepwater environment. Technologies such as time slicing and interval attribute analysis can enhance geomorphological interpretations, and, when integrated with stratigraphic analyses, can yield insights regarding distribution of seal and reservoir facies. Multiple attributes corendering can further bring out features of geological interest that other technologies may overlook. This method involves corender spectral decomposition components(SDC) with semblance attributes to describe the distribution of deepwater channel elements and the boundaries of deepwater sinuous channel. Applying this technology to four elements is observed:(1) point-bars,(2) migration of channel meander loops,(3) channel erosion/cut, and(4) avulsion. The planview expression of the deepwater channel ranges from low sinuosity to high sinuosity. Furthermore, this technology has enabled interpreters to visualize details of complex depositional elements and can be used to predict net-to-gross ratio in channel systems, which can be incorporated into borehole planning for exploration as well as development needs to improve risk management significantly. 10Identification of novel Lynch syndrome mutations in Chinese patients with endometriod endometrial cancer显示文摘Objective:Lynch syndrome(LS)predisposes patients to early onset endometrioid endometrial cancer(EEC).However,little is known about LS-related EEC in the Chinese population.The aim of this study was to investigate the prevalence of LS and to identify the specific variants of LS in Chinese patients with EEC.Methods:We applied universal immunohistochemistry screening to detect the expression of mismatch repair(MMR)proteins,which was followed by MLH1 methylation analysis to identify suspected LS cases,next-generation sequencing(NGS)to confirm LS,and microsatellite instability(MSI)analysis to verify LS.Results:We collected 211 samples with EEC.Twenty-seven(27/211,12.8%)EEC cases had a loss of MMR protein expression.After MLH1 methylation analysis,16 EEC cases were suggested to be associated with LS.Finally,through NGS and MSI analysis,we determined that 10 EEC(10/209,4.78%)cases were associated with LS.Among those cases,3 unreported mutations(1 frameshift and 2 nonsense)were identified.M SH6 c.597_597delC,found in 4 patients,is likely to be a founder mutation in China.Conclusions:We demonstrated the feasibility of a process for LS screening in Chinese patients with EEC,by using universal immunohistochemistry screening followed by MLH1 methylation analysis and confirmation through NGS and MSI analysis.The novel mutations identified in this study expand knowledge of LS.Caixia Ren Yan Liu Yuxiang Wang Yan Tang Yawei Wei Congrong Liu Hongquan Zhang 2020Cancer Biology & Medicine2020,17,2:3
11The DNMT1-PAS1-PH20 axis drives breast cancer growth and metastasis显示文摘PH20 is a member of the human hyaluronidase family that degrades hyaluronan in the extracellular matrix and controls tumor progression.Inhibition of DNA methyltransferases(DNMTs)leads to elevated hyaluronan levels;however,whether DNMT inhibitors control PH20 remains unclear.Here,we report that the DNMT1 inhibitor,decitabine,suppresses PH20 expression by activating the long non-coding RNA PHACTR2-AS1(PAS1).PAS1 forms a tripartite complex with the RNA-binding protein vigilin and histone methyltransferase SUV39H1.The interaction between PAS1 and vigilin maintains the stability of PAS1.Meanwhile,PAS1 recruits SUV39H1 to trigger the H3K9 methylation of PH20,resulting in its silencing.Functionally,PAS1 inhibits breast cancer growth and metastasis,at least partially,by suppressing PH20.Combination therapy of decitabine and PAS1-30nt-RNA,which directly binds to SUV39H1,effectively blocked breast cancer growth and metastasis in mice.Taken together,DNMT1,PAS1,and PH20 comprise a regulatory axis to control breast cancer growth and metastasis.These findings reveal that the DNMT1-PAS1-PH20 axis is a potential therapeutic target for breast cancer.Yenan Fu Xi Zhang Xiao Liu Peng Wang Wenhui Chu Wei Zhao Yunling Wang Guangbiao Zhou Yu Yu Hongquan Zhang 2022Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2022,7,4:2
12Four and a half LIM domains protein 1 can be as a double-edged sword in cancer progression显示文摘Four and a half LIM domains protein 1(FH L1),as the name suggests,contains four and a half LIM domains capable o f interacting with various molecules,including structural proteins,kinases,and transcriptional machinery.FHL1 contains a zinc-finger domain and performs diverse roles in regulation of gene transcription,cytoarchitecture,cell proliferation,and signal transduction.Several studies have validated the importance of FHL1 in muscle development,myopathy,and cardiovascular diseases.Mutations in the FHL1 gene are associated with various myopathies.Recently,FHL1 was identified as a major host factor for chikungunya virus(CHIKV)infection in both humans and mice.Based on more recent findings over the last decade,FHL1 is proposed to play a dual role in cancer progression.On the one hand,FHL1 expression is suppressed in several cancer types,which correlates with increased metastatic disease and decreased survival.Moreover,FHL1 is reported to inhibit tum or cell growth and migration by associating with diverse signals,such as TGF-P and ER,and therefore considered a tumor suppressor.On the other hand,FHL1 can function as an oncogenic protein that promotes tumor progression upon phosphorylation,reflecting complex roles in cancer.This review primarily focuses on the dual role and underlying mechanisms of action of FHL1 in human cancer progression and its clinical relevance.Xiaofan Wei Hongquan Zhang 2020Cancer Biology & Medicine2020,17,2:2
13Study on Temperature Modulation Techniques for Micro Gas Sensors显示文摘The sensitivity and selectivity of gas sensors are related with not only sensing material,but also their operating temperatures.Applying this property,temperature modulation technique has been proposed to improve the selectivity of gas sensors.With a newly developed alumina based micro gas sensor,the sensitivity to CO and CH_4 at different operating temperatures was investigated.By modulating the temperature of the sensor at pulse and sine wave modes with different frequencies and amplitudes,the dynamic responses of the sensor were measured and processed.Results show that the modulating waveshape plays an important role in the improvement of selectivity,while the influence of frequency is small at the suitable sampling frequency in the range of 25 mHz~200 mHz.Guangfen Wei Zhenan Tang Hongquan Zhang Yanbing Xue Jun Yu 2006稀有金属材料与工程2006,35,A03:1

15Kindler syndrome protein Kindlin-1 is mainly expressed in adult tissues originating from ectoderm/endoderm显示文摘Mutations of integrin-interacting protein Kindlin-1 cause Kindler syndrome and deregulation of Kindlin-1 is implicated in human cancers. The Kindlin-1-related diseases are confined in limited tissue types. However, Kindlin-1 tissue distribution and the dogma that governs Kindlin-1 expression in normal human body are elusive. This study examined Kindlin-1 expression in normal human adult organs, human and mouse embryonic organs by immunohistochemical analyses. We identified a general principle that the level of Kindlin-1 expression in tissues is tightly correlated with the corresponding germ layers from which these tissues originate. We compared the expression of Kindlin-1 with Kindlin-2 and found that Kindlin-1 is highly expressed in epithelial tissues derived from ectoderm and endoderm, whereas Kindlin-2 is mainly expressed in mesoderm-derived tissues. Likewise, Kindlin-1 was also found highly expressed in endoderm/ectoderm-derived tissues in human and mouse embryos. 18AN EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF THE LARGE SCALE COHERENT STRUCTURES IN A FORCED FREE SHEAR LAYER显示文摘The dynamic characteristics of the large scale coherent structures in a forced free shear layer are experi-mentally studied by means of flow visualization. The quantitative measurements are acquired by the use of a LDV. Itis shown that the development of the coherent structures can be greatly influenced by upstream artificial perturbationsand as a result the mixing in the layer can be controlled.
