1AXL is a candidate receptor for SARS-CoV-2 that promotes infection of pulmonary and bronchial epithelial cells显示文摘The current coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic presents a global public health challenge.The viral pathogen responsible,severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2),binds to the host receptor ACE2 through its spike(S)glycoprotein,which mediates membrane fusion and viral entry.Although the role of ACE2 as a receptor for SARS-CoV-2 is clear,studies have shown that ACE2 expression is extremely low in various human tissues,especially in the respiratory tract.Thus,other host receptors and/or co-receptors that promote the entry of SARS-CoV-2 into cells of the respiratory system may exist.In this study,we found that the tyrosine-protein kinase receptor UFO(AXL)specifically interacts with the N-terminal domain of SARS-CoV-2 S.Using both a SARS-CoV-2 virus pseudotype and authentic SARS-CoV-2,we found that overexpression of AXL in HEK293T cells promotes SARS-CoV-2 entry as efficiently as overexpression of ACE2,while knocking out AXL significantly reduces SARS-CoV-2 infection in HI 299 pulmonary cells and in human primary lung epithelial cells.Soluble human recombinant AXL blocks SARS-CoV-2 infection in cells expressing high levels of AXL.The AXL expression level is well correlated with SARS-CoV-2 S level in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid cells from COVID-19 patients.Taken together,our findings suggest that AXL is a novel candidate receptor for SARS-CoV-2 which may play an important role in promoting viral infection of the human respiratory system and indicate that it is a potential target for future clinical intervention strategies.Shuai Wang Zongyang Qiu Yingnan Hou Xiya Deng Wei Xu Tingting Zheng Peihan Wu Shaofang Xie Weixiang Bian Chong Zhang Zewei Sun Kunpeng Liu Chao Shan Aifu Lin Shibo Jiang Youhua Xie Qiang Zhou Lu Lu Jing Huang Xu Li 2021Cell Research2021,31,2:39

3C_(17)-fengycin B,produced by deep-sea-derived Bacillus subtilis,possessing a strong antifungal activity against Fusarium solani显示文摘Root rot disease caused by Fusarium solani is the most devastating disease of the tomato and legume crops in China.The metabolites of Bacillus species can inhibit many fungal diseases.In this study,the metabolites of deep-sea-derived bacterium Bacillus subtilis 2 H11 can significantly inhibit the growth of F.solani.The metabolite C_(17)-fengycin B,one of the cyclic lipopeptides,was identified by the combination of silica column chromatography,high-performance liquid chromatography(HPLC),high-energy collision induced dissociation mass spectrometry(HCD-MS)and tandem mass spectrometry(HCD-MS/MS).The results of scanning electron microscopy(SEM)and transmission electron microscopy(TEM)showed that C_(17)-fengycin B could destroy the structure of the hyphae and spores of F.solani.The antifungal activities of C_(17)-fengycin B against F.solani were tested at concentrations ranging from 0.05 mg/mL to 0.20 mg/mL.The results indicated that C_(17)-fengycin B inhibited the growth of F.solani with antifungal index of 89.80%at 0.20 mg/mL,and the antifungal activity of C_(17)-fengycin B was further verified by the pot experiment.In addition,the cytotoxicity experiment showed that C_(17)-fengycin B had good biocompatibility and was a potential candidate for the development of biocontrol pesticide in the future.Weixiang LIU Chaomin SUN 2021Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2021,39,5:5
4Surface removal of a copper thin film in an ultrathin water environment by a molecular dynamics study显示文摘The surface planarity and asperity removal behavior on atomic scale in an ultrathin water environment were studied for a nanoscale process by molecular dynamics simulation.Monolayer atomic removal is achieved under both noncontact and monoatomic layer contact conditions with different water film thicknesses.The newly formed surface is relatively smooth without deformed layers,and no plastic defects are present in the subsurface.The nanoscale processing is governed by the interatomic adhering action during which the water film transmits the loading forces to the Cu surface and thereby results in the migration and removal of the surface atoms.When the scratching depth≥0.5 nm,the abrasive particle squeezes out the water film from the scratching region and scratches the Cu surface directly.This leads to the formation of trenches and ridges,accumulation of chips ahead of the particles,and generation of dislocations within the Cu substrate.This process is mainly governed by the plowing action,leading to the deterioration of the surface quality.This study makes the'0 nm planarity,0 residual defects,and 0 polishing pressure'in a nanoscale process more achievable and is helpful in understanding the nanoscale removal of materials for developing an ultra-precision manufacture technology.Junqin SHI Liang FANG Kun SUN Weixiang PENG Juan GHEN Meng ZHANG 2020Friction2020,8,2:3
5Accelerated plasma degradation of organic pollutants in milliseconds and examinations by mass spectrometry显示文摘The rapid degradation of organic pollutants,process monitoring and online controlling to obtain advanced products and decreased by-products are great and challenging tasks in environmental treatments.Herein,an accelerated plasma degradation in milliseconds was achieved by combining electrospray-based acceleration and plasma-based degradation.Taking the degradation of chloroaniline as an example,97%of the degradation can be achieved in milliseconds.The velocity distribution of droplets was determined to be 40-50 m/s after being degraded for 0.30 ms,which exhibited different degradation behaviors in different milliseconds.Simultaneously,by virtue of the real-time and on-line detection ability of ambient mass spectrometry,intermediates,by-products and advanced products were monitored.Therefore,degradation mechanisms for different degradation times were proposed,which would provide theoretical guidance on obtaining efficient and green degradation.The fabrication,examining and understanding of accelerated plasma degradation not only enlarged application of accelerated reactions,but also promoted green and efficient degradation for environmental treatments.Hua Lu Yiyan Yin Jianghui Sun Weixiang Li Xiaotong Shen Xiujuan Feng Jin Ouyang Na Na 2021Chinese Chemical Letters2021,32,11:2

7Semi-supervised estimation of capacity degradation for lithium ion batteries with electrochemical impedance spectroscopy显示文摘Machine learning-based methods have emerged as a promising solution to accurate battery capacity estimation for battery management systems.However,they are generally developed in a supervised manner which requires a considerable number of input features and corresponding capacities,leading to prohibitive costs and efforts for data collection.In response to this issue,this study proposes a convolutional neural network(CNN)based method to perform end-to-end capacity estimation by taking only raw impedance spectra as input.More importantly,an input reconstruction module is devised to effectively exploit impedance spectra without corresponding capacities in the training process,thereby significantly alleviating the cost of collecting training data.Two large battery degradation datasets encompassing over 4700 impedance spectra are developed to validate the proposed method.The results show that accurate capacity estimation can be achieved when substantial training samples with measured capacities are given.However,the estimation performance of supervised machine learning algorithms sharply deteriorates when fewer samples with measured capacities are available.In this case,the proposed method outperforms supervised benchmarks and can reduce the root mean square error by up to 50.66%.A further validation under different current rates and states of charge confirms the effectiveness of the proposed method.Our method provides a flexible approach to take advantage of unlabelled samples for developing data-driven models and is promising to be generalised to other battery management tasks.Rui Xiong Jinpeng Tian Weixiang Shen Jiahuan Lu Fengchun Sun 2023Journal of Energy Chemistry2023,,1:1

12Overexpression of the mTERT gene by adenoviral vectors promotes the proliferation of neuronal stem cells in vitro and stimulates neurogenesis in the hippocampus of mice显示文摘We sought to construct the adenoviral vector carrying the gene encoding mouse telomerase reverse transcriptase(mTERT),as well as detect its expression and effect on the proliferation of neuronal stem cells.mTERT was am-plified by RT-PCR and then the eukaryotic expression vector of pDC-EGFP-TERT was constructed.After DNA sequence analysis,we detected that there were 293 cells transfected with pDC-EGFP-TERT and helper adenovirus plasmid pBHG lox ΔE1,and three Cre using Lipofectamine 2000 mediation,named Ad-mTERT-GFP,to pack-age adenoviral particles.The Ad-mTERT-GFP was used to infect neuronal stem cells and then the expression and activity of mTERT were detected.In addition,Bromodeoxyuridine labeling test identified the impact of mTERT overexpression on proliferation of neuronal stem cells.The recombinant adenoviral vector confirmed that mTERT was successfully constructed.Overexpression of mTERT stimulated the proliferation of neuronal stem cells both in vitro and in vivo.mTERT overexpression via adenoviral vector carrying mTERT cDNA upregulated the ability of proliferation in neuronal stem cells.Mengying Liu Yao Hu Lijuan Zhu Chen Chen Yu Zhang Weixiang Sun Qigang Zhou 2012The Journal of Biomedical Research2012,26,5:1
