| 3 | Variations in air temperature during the last 100 years revealed by δ^(18)O in the Malan ice core from the Tibetan Plateau显示文摘By comprehensive analyses, it was found that the variations in d 18O recorded in Malan ice core from theKekexili Region on the Tibetan Plateau could represent thechanges in air temperature during the summer half year (from May to October) over the Kekexili Region and the northern margin of the Tibetan Plateau. The general increase trend in d18O in this ice core during the past century indicated climate warming, and it was estimated that air temperature during the summer half-year rose about 1.2C over there then. However, this ice core record documented that the study area has been cooling while most of the world has been dramatically warming since the late 1970s. A teleconnection was foundbetween the variations in d 18O in the Malan ice core and the North Atlantic Oscillation. | 6 | Climatic significance of δ^(18)O records from precipitation on the western Tibetan Plateau显示文摘Analysis of daily precipitation samples for stable oxygen isotopes (δ18O) collected at the Shiquanhe and Gêrzê (Gaize, Gertse) stations in the Ngari (Ali) region on the western Tibetan Plateau indicates that air temperature affects the δ18O variations in precipitation at these stations. In summer, Shiquanhe and Gêrzê show strongly similar trends in precipitation δ18O, especially in simultaneous precipitation events. Moreover, both stations experienced low δ18O values in precipitation during the active monsoon period, resulting from the southwest monsoon (the summer phase of the Indian monsoon). However, during the break monsoon period (during the summer rainy season, when the monsoon circulation is disrupted), δ18O values in summer precipitation remain relatively high and local moisture recycling generally controls the moisture sources. Air temperature correlations with δ18O strengthen during the non-monsoon period (January―June, and October―December) due to continental air masses and the westerlies. In addition, evaporation also influences the δ18O variations in precipitation. | 7 | Potassium 2-(l-hydroxypentyl)-benzoate attenuates neuroinflammatory responses and upregulates heme oxygenase-1 in systemic lipopolysaccharide-induced inflammation in mice显示文摘A neuroinflammatory response is commonly involved in the progression of many neurodegenerative diseases. Potassium 2-(1-hydroxypentyl)-benzoate(PHPB), a novel neuroprotective compound, has shown promising effects in the treatment of ischemic stroke and Alzheimer's disease(AD). In the present study, the anti-inflammatory effects of PHPB were investigated in the plasma and brain of C57BL/6 mice administered a single intraperitoneal(i.p.) injection of lipopolysaccharide(LPS). Levels of i NOS and the cytokines TNFα, IL-1β and IL-10 were elevated in plasma, cerebral cortex and hippocampus after LPS injection and the number of microglia and astrocytes in cortex and hippocampus were increased. LPS also upregulated the expression of heme oxygenase-1(HO-1) in the cortex and hippocampus. PHPB reduced the levels of i NOS and cytokines in the plasma and brain, decreased the number of microglia and astrocytes and further enhanced the upregulation of HO-1. In addition, PHPB inhibited the LPS-induced phosphorylation of ERK, P38 and JNK. | 8 | Psychological impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on healthcare workers:a cross-sectional study in China显示文摘Background Healthcare workers fighting against the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic are under tremendous pressure,which puts them at an increased risk of developing psychological problems.Aims This study aimed to investigate the prevalence of psychological problems in different healthcare workers(ie,physicians,medical residents,nurses,technicians and public health professionals)during the COVID-19 pandemic in China and explore factors that are associated with the onset of psychological problems in this population during this public health crisis.Methods A cross-sectional,web-based survey was conducted in February 2020 among healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.Psychological problems were assessed using the Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale,Patient Health Questionnaire and Insomnia Severity Index.Logistic regression analyses were used to explore the factors that were associated with psychological problems.Results The prevalence of symptoms of anxiety,depression,insomnia and the overall psychological problems in healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic in China was 46.04%,44.37%,28.75%and 56.59%,respectively.The prevalence of the overall psychological problems in physicians,medical residents,nurses,technicians and public health professionals was 60.35%,50.82%,62.02%,57.54%and 62.40%,respectively.Compared with healthcare workers who did not participate in front-line work,front-line healthcare workers had a higher risk of anxiety,insomnia and overall psychological problems.In addition,attention to negative or neutral information about the pandemic,receiving negative feedback from families and friends who joined front-line work,and unwillingness to join front-line work if given a free choice were three major factors for these psychological problems.Conclusions Psychological problems are pervasive among healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.Receiving negative information and participating in front-line work appear to be.important risk factors for psychological problems.The psychological health of different healthcare workers should be protected during the COVID-19 pandemic with timely interventions and proper information feedback. | Jianyu Que Le Shi Jiahui Deng Jiajia Liu Li Zhang Suying Wu Yimiao Gong Weizhen Huang Kai Yuan Wei Yan Yankun Sun Maosheng Ran Yanping Bao Lin Lu | 2020 | General Psychiatry2020,33,3: | 8 |

| 13 | Comparative analysis of A,B,C and D genomes in the genus Oryza with C_(0)t-1 DNA of C genome显示文摘Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH)was applied to somatic chromosomes preparations of Oryza officinalis Wall. (CC), O. sativa L. (AA)×O. offi-cinalis F1 hybrid (AC), backcross progenies BC1 (AAC and ACC), O. latifolia Desv. (CCDD), O. alta Swallen (CCDD) and O. punctata Kotschy (BBCC) with a labelled probe of C0t-1 DNA from O. officinalis. In O. officinalis, the homologous chromosomes showed similar signal bands probed by C0t-1 DNA and karyotype analysis was conducted based on the band patterns. Using no blocking DNA, the probe identified the chromosomes of C genome clearly, but detected few signals on chromosomes of A genome in the F1 hybrid and two backcross progenies of BC1. It is obvious that the highly and moderately repetitive DNA sequences were considerably different between C and A genomes. The chromosomes of C genome were also discriminated from the chromosomes of D- and B-genome in the tetraploid species O. latifolia, O. alta and O. punctata by C0t-1 DNA-FISH. Compari-son of the fluorescence intensity on the chromo-somes of B, C and D genomes in O. latifolia, O. alta, and O. punctata indicated that the differentiations between C and D genomes are less than that be-tween C and B genomes. The relationship between C and D genomes in O. alta is closer than that of C and D genomes in O. latifolia. This would be one of thecauses for the fact that both the genomes are of the same karyotype (CCDD) but belong to different spe-cies. The above results showed that the C0t-1 DNA had a high specificity of genome and species. | 14 | Response of monsoon vari-ability in Himalayas to global warming显示文摘Reconstructed annual net accumulation from the Dasuopu ice core recovered in Himalayas, with a good correlation to Indian monsoon, reflects a major precipitation trend in central Himalayas. The Dasuopu accumulation (DSP An) also shows a strong correlation to the Northern Hemispheric temperature. Generally, as the Northern Hemispheric temperature increases by 0.1 K, the accumulation decreases by about 90 mm and vise versa. | 15 | Fe5C2 nanoparticles as low-cost HER electrocatalyst:the importance of Co substitution显示文摘Constructing and understanding the doping effect of secondary metal in transition metal carbide(TMC)catalysts is pivotal for the design of low-cost hydrogen evolution reaction(HER) electrocatalysts. In this work, we developed a wet-chemistry strategy for synthesizing Co-modified Fe_5C_2 nanoparticles((Fe_(1-x)Cox)_5C_2 NPs) as highly active HER electrocatalysts in basic solution. The structure of(Fe_(1-x)Cox)_5C_2 NPs was characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD), extended X-ray absorption fine structure spectra(EXAFS) and scanning/transmission electron microscopy(S/TEM), indicating that the isomorphous substitution of cobalt in the lattice of Fe_5C_2.(Fe_(0.75) Co_(0.25))_5C_2 exhibited the best HER activity(174 mV for j = -10 mA/cm^2). Computational calculation results indicate that Co provides the most active site for HER. X-ray adsorption spectra(XAS) studies further suggested that the electron transfer in Fe–C bonds are enhanced by the substitution of Co, which modulates the hydrogen adsorption on the adjacent electronic-enriched carbon, and therefore promotes HER activity. | 16 | Simultaneous removal of Cu(Ⅱ) and Cr(Ⅵ) by Mg–Al–Cl layered double hydroxide and mechanism insight显示文摘Mg–Al–Cl layered double hydroxide(Cl-LDH) was prepared to simultaneously remove Cu(Ⅱ)and Cr(VI) from aqueous solution. The coexisting Cu(Ⅱ)(20 mg/L) and Cr(VI)(40 mg/L) were completely removed within 30 min by Cl-LDH in a dosage of 2.0 g/L; the removal rate of Cu(Ⅱ) was accelerated in the presence of Cr(VI). Moreover, compared with the adsorption of single Cu(Ⅱ) or Cr(VI), the adsorption capacities of Cl-LDH for Cu(Ⅱ) and Cr(VI) can be improved by 81.05% and 49.56%, respectively, in the case of coexisting Cu(Ⅱ)(200 mg/L) and Cr(VI)(400 mg/L). The affecting factors(such as solution initial p H, adsorbent dosage, and contact time) have been systematically investigated. Besides, the changes of p H values and the concentrations of Mg^(2+) and Al^(2+)in relevant solutions were monitored. To get the underlying mechanism, the Cl-LDH samples before and after adsorption were thoroughly characterized by X-ray powder diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. On the basis of these analyses, a possible mechanism was proposed. The coadsorption process involves anion exchange of Cr(VI) with Cl-in Cl-LDH interlayer, isomorphic substitution of Mg^(2+) with Cu^(2+), formation of Cu_2Cl(OH)_3precipitation, and the adsorption of Cr(VI) by Cu_2Cl(OH)_3. | 20 | Chromosome-scale genome assembly of sweet cherry(Prunus avium L.)cv.Tieton obtained using long-read and Hi-C sequencing显示文摘Sweet cherry(Prunus avium)is an economically significant fruit species in the genus Prunus.However,in contrast to other important fruit trees in this genus,only one draft genome assembly is available for sweet cherry,which was assembled using only Illumina short-read sequences.The incompleteness and low quality of the current sweet cherry draft genome limit its use in genetic and genomic studies.A high-quality chromosome-scale sweet cherry reference genome assembly is therefore needed.A total of 65.05 Gb of Oxford Nanopore long reads and 46.24 Gb of Illumina short reads were generated,representing~190x and 136x coverage,respectively,of the sweet cherry genome.The final de novo assembly resulted in a phased haplotype assembly of 344.29 Mb with a contig N50 of 3.25 Mb.Hi-C scaffolding of the genome resulted in eight pseudochromosomes containing 99.59%of the bases in the assembled genome.Genome annotation revealed that more than half of the genome(59.40%)was composed of repetitive sequences,and 40,338 protein-coding genes were predicted,75.40%of which were functionally annotated.With the chromosomescale assembly,we revealed that gene duplication events contributed to the expansion of gene families for salicylic acid/jasmonic acid carboxyl methyltransferase and ankyrin repeat-containing proteins in the genome of sweet cherry.Four auxin-responsive genes(two GH3s and two SAURs)were induced in the late stage of fruit development,indicating that auxin is crucial for the sweet cherry ripening process.In addition,772 resistance genes were identified and functionally predicted in the sweet cherry genome.The high-quality genome assembly of sweet cherry obtained in this study will provide valuable genomic resources for sweet cherry improvement and molecular breeding. | Jiawei Wang Weizhen Liu Dongzi Zhu Po Hong Shizhong Zhang Shijun Xiao Yue Tan Xin Chen Li Xu Xiaojuan Zong Lisi Zhang Hairong Wei Xiaohui Yuan Qingzhong Liu | 2020 | Horticulture Research2020,7,1: | 4 |
