| 1 | Starch supplementation improves the reproductive performance of sows in different glucose tolerance status显示文摘This study was to evaluate the effects of glucose tolerance status,maternal starch supplementation and soybean substitution in diets on the performance of dams and their offspring.Eighty-eight pregnant sows(Landrace x Large White)were selected from an initial total of 120 sows,based on blood glucose test values,and assigned to 4 experimental treatments in a 2×2 factorial design.The factors were glucose tolerance status(glucose intolerant[GIT]vs.normal glucose tolerant[NGT])or dietary treatments(corn starch diet[CS]vs.soybean substitution diet[SSI]).A higher area under the curve(AUC)for post-meal glucose was observed(P<0.05)in the GIT group than in the NGT group on d 109 of gestation.The CS group had a lower value of homeostasis model assessment-insulin resistance than the SS group(P<0.05)on d 109 of gestation.Corn starch supplementation for sows decreased the stillbirth rate(P<0.05),regardless of the sows’glucose tolerance status.The villus height of the jejunum and the villus height to crypt depth ratio of the ileum were greater in normal birth weight piglets from the CS group than from the SS group(P<0.01),and so was the activity of sucrase in the jejunum and ileum(P<0.01).Compared with the SS group,the CS group showed a reduction in pre-weaning mortality rate,an increase in the number of high-birth-weight piglets,and a decrease in the number of low-birth-weight piglets(P<0.05)under GIT status.In conclusion,sows fed CS decreased stillbirth rate and improved insulin resistance,as well as improving the intestinal morphology and digestive enzyme activities of their progeny,regardless of glucose tolerance status.Additionally,the CS group improved birth weight distribution and decreased pre-weaning mortality rate of piglets under GIT status. | Yunyu Yang Ming Deng Jianzhao Chen Xichen Zhao Kaili Xiao Wenliang He Xinggang Qiu Yanzhen Xu Yulong Yin Chengquan Tan | 2021 | Animal Nutrition2021,,4: | 2 |
| 2 | Microsurgery vs. radiosurgery for the treatment of multiple metastases in the brain: a retrospective cohort study显示文摘Objective:Multiple brain metastases are a severe condition for cancer patients.To date,no general consensus exists regarding the optimal treatment procedure for multiple brain metastases.Radiotherapy is the most commonly used treatment option.The role of surgical resection for multiple brain metastases is unclear.The aim of this study was to compare the outcomes of patients with multiple brain metastases treated with either surgery or stereotactic radiosurgery(SRS).Methods:The medical records of 279 consecutive adult patients with multiple brain metastases treated with either surgery(26 patients)or SRS(253 patients)were retrospectively reviewed.Propensity score matching was conducted to correct for discrepancies in the baseline characteristics,and 78 patients(26 receiving surgery and 52 receiving SRS)were chosen for comparison of outcomes,such as overall survival,local tumor control rate,and symptom improvement.Results:The tumor size in the surgery group was significantly greater than that in the SRS group after propensity score matching.However,the neurological recovery rate,incidence of leptomeningeal metastasis after surgery,1-year local tumor control rate,and overall survival were not significantly different between groups.Conclusions:Our data demonstrate that surgery and radiosurgery have identical overall survival and local tumor control rates in patients with 2 to 4 brain metastases.Although SRS remains the primary and standard option for patients with brain metastasis,surgery offers several distinct advantages,such as establishing a diagnosis or relieving mass effects,and may additionally be beneficial in carefully selected patients with 2–4 brain metastases. | Qun Liu Qiang Yin Yang Dong Fengtong Li Wenliang Li Xiaoguang Wang | 2022 | Cancer Biology & Medicine2022,19,6: | 1 |

| 5 | TNFα inhibitor C87 sensitizes EGFRvⅢ transfected glioblastoma cells to gefitinib by a concurrent blockade of TNFα signaling显示文摘Objective: More than half of human glioblastomas show EGFR gene amplification and mutation, but EGFR inhibitors have not been effective in treating EGFR-positive glioblastoma patients.The mechanism behind this type of primary resistance is not well understood.The aim of this study was to investigate gefitinib resistance in glioblastoma, and explore ways to circumvent this significant clinical problem.Methods: MTT method was used to test the cell viability after EGFR-positive glioblastoma cells were treated with indicated drugs;real-time quantitative PCR method was included to detect the TNFα mRNA levels in glioma tissues and cell lines.ELISA was introduced to measure the TNFα protein levels in cell culture supernatant of glioblastoma cells treated with gefitinib.Western blot was used to detect the activity change of intracellular kinases in drug-treated glioblastoma cells.Two mouse xenograft tumor models were carried out to evaluate the in vivo effects of a combination of EGFR and TNFα inhibitors.Results: We found that glioblastoma resistance to gefitinib may be mediated by an adaptive pro-survival TNFα-JNK-Axl signaling axis, and that high TNFα levels in the glioblastoma microenvironment may further intensify primary resistance.A combination of the TNFα-specific small-molecule inhibitor C87 and gefitinib significantly enhanced the sensitivity of glioblastoma cells to gefitinib in vitro and in vivo.Conclusions: Our findings provide a possible explanation for the primary resistance of glioblastoma to EGFR inhibitors and suggest that dual blockade of TNFα and EGFR may be a viable therapeutic strategy for the treatment of patients with chemotherapy-refractory advanced glioblastoma. | Li Ma Chunhua She Qian Shi Qiang Yin Xinxin Ji Yongrong Wang Yulong Fan Xinyao Kong Peng Li Zengfeng Sun Xiaohui Zhang Zhen Zhang Jian Wang Tong Wang Yuanfu Xu Wenliang Li | 2019 | Cancer Biology & Medicine2019,16,3: | 1 |
| 6 | Fractional-order Sliding Mode Control of Hybrid Drive Wind Turbine for Improving Low-voltage Ride-through Capacity显示文摘A hybrid drive wind turbine equipped with a speed regulating differential mechanism can generate electricity at the grid frequency by an electrically excited synchronous generator without requiring fully or partially rated converters. This mechanism has extensively been studied in recent years. To enhance the transient operation performance and low-voltage ridethrough capacity of the proposed hybrid drive wind turbine, we aim to synthesize an advanced control scheme for the flexible regulation of synchronous generator excitation based on fractional-order sliding mode theory. Moreover, an extended state observer is constructed to cooperate with the designed controller and jointly compensate for parametric uncertainties and external disturbances. A dedicated simulation model of a 1.5 MW hybrid drive wind turbine is established and verified through an experimental platform. The results show satisfactory model performance with the maximum and average speed errors of 1.67% and 1.05%, respectively.
