2The origin of Wx^(la) provides new insights into the improvement of grain quality in rice显示文摘Appearance and taste are important factors in rice(Oryza sativa) grain quality. Here, we investigated the taste scores and related eating-quality traits of533 diverse cultivars to assess the relationships between—and genetic basis of—rice taste and eating-quality. A genome-wide association study highlighted the Wx gene as the major factor underlying variation in taste and eating quality. Notably, a novel waxy(Wx) allele, Wx^(la), which combined two mutations from Wx^(b) and Wx^(in), exhibited a unique phenotype. Reduced GBSSI activity conferred Wx^(la) rice with both a transparent appearance and good eating quality. Haplotype analysis revealed that Wx^(la) was derived from intragenic recombination. In fact,the recombination rate at the Wx locus was estimated to be 3.34 kb/c M, which was about 75-fold higher than the genome-wide mean, indicating that intragenic recombination is a major force driving diversity at the Wx locus. Based on our results, we propose a new network for Wx evolution, noting that new Wx alleles could easily be generated by crossing genotypes with different Wx alleles. 3Genetic architecture and key genes controlling the diversity of oil composition in rice grains显示文摘Rice grain oil is a valuable nutrient source.However,the genetic basis of oil biosynthesis in rice grains remains unclear.In this study,we performed a genome-wide association study on oil composition and oil concentration in a diverse panel of 533 cultivated rice accessions.High variation for 11 oil-related traits was observed,and the oil composition of rice grains showed differentiation among the subpopulations.We identified 46 loci that are significantly associated with grain oil concentration or composition,16 of which were detected in three recombinant inbred line populations.Twenty-six candidate genes encoding enzymes involved in oil metabolism were identified from these 46 loci,four of which(PAL6,LIN6,MYR2,and ARA6)were found to contribute to natural variation in oil composition and to show differentiation among the subpopulations.Interestingly,population genetic analyses revealed that specific haplotypes of PAL6 and LIN6 have been selected in japonica rice.Based on these results,we propose a possible oil biosynthetic pathway in rice grains.Collectively,our results provide new insights into the genetic basis of oil biosynthesis in rice grains and can facilitate marker-based breeding of rice varieties with enhanced oil and grain quality.Hao Zhou Duo Xia Pingbo Li Yiting Ao Xiaodong Xu Shanshan Wan Yanhua Li Bian Wu Huan Shi Kaiyue Wang Guanjun Gao Qinglu Zhang Gongwei Wang Jinghua Xiao Xianghua Li Sibin Yu Xingming Lian Yuqing He 2021Molecular Plant2021,14,3:4

11Inner Cascaded U^(2)-Net:An Improvement to Plain Cascaded U-Net显示文摘Deep neural networks are now widely used in the medical image segmentation field for their performance superiority and no need of manual feature extraction.U-Net has been the baseline model since the very beginning due to a symmetricalU-structure for better feature extraction and fusing and suitable for small datasets.To enhance the segmentation performance of U-Net,cascaded U-Net proposes to put two U-Nets successively to segment targets from coarse to fine.However,the plain cascaded U-Net faces the problem of too less between connections so the contextual information learned by the former U-Net cannot be fully used by the latter one.In this article,we devise novel Inner Cascaded U-Net and Inner Cascaded U^(2)-Net as improvements to plain cascaded U-Net for medical image segmentation.The proposed Inner Cascaded U-Net adds inner nested connections between two U-Nets to share more contextual information.To further boost segmentation performance,we propose Inner Cascaded U^(2)-Net,which applies residual U-block to capture more global contextual information from different scales.The proposed models can be trained from scratch in an end-to-end fashion and have been evaluated on Multimodal Brain Tumor Segmentation Challenge(BraTS)2013 and ISBI Liver Tumor Segmentation Challenge(LiTS)dataset in comparison to related U-Net,cascaded U-Net,U-Net++,U^(2)-Net and state-of-the-art methods.Our experiments demonstrate that our proposed Inner Cascaded U-Net and Inner Cascaded U^(2)-Net achieve better segmentation performance in terms of dice similarity coefficient and hausdorff distance as well as get finer outline segmentation.Wenbin Wu Guanjun Liu Kaiyi Liang Hui Zhou 2023Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences2023,,2:0
12High energy density in ultra-thick and flexible electrodes enabled by designed conductive agent/binder composite显示文摘Thick electrodes can increase incorporation of active electrode materials by diminishing the proportion of inactive constituents,improving the overall energy density of batteries.However,thick electrodes fabricated using the conventional slurry casting approach frequently exhibit an exacerbated accumulation of carbon additives and binders on their surfaces,invariably leading to compromised electrochemical properties.In this study,we introduce a designed conductive agent/binder composite synthesized from carbon nanotube and polytetrafluoroethylene.This agent/binder composite facilitates production of dry-process-prepared ultra-thick electrodes endowed with a three-dimensional and uniformly distributed percolative architecture,ensuring superior electronic conductivity and remarkable mechanical resilience.Using this approach,ultra-thick LiCoO_(2)(LCO) electrodes demonstrated superior cycling performance and rate capabilities,registering an impressive loading capacity of up to 101.4 mg/cm^(2),signifying a 242% increase in battery energy density.In another analytical endeavor,time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectroscopy was used to clarify the distribution of cathode electrolyte interphase(CEI) in cycled LCO electrodes.The results provide unprecedented evidence explaining the intricate correlation between CEI generation and carbon distribution,highlighting the intrinsic advantages of the proposed dry-process approach in fine-tu ning the CEI,with excellent cycling performance in batteries equipped with ultra-thick electrodes.Xiaoyu Shen Hailong Yu Liubin Ben Wenwu Zhao Qiyu Wang Guanjun Cen Ronghan Qiao Yida Wu Xuejie Huang 2024Journal of Energy Chemistry2024,90,3:0

14Advances in the Application of Perovskite Materials显示文摘Nowadays, the soar of photovoltaic performance of perovskite solar cells has set off a fever in the study of metal halide perovskite materials. The excellent optoelectronic properties and defect tolerance feature allow metal halide perovskite to be employed in a wide variety of applications. This article provides a holistic review over the current progress and future prospects of metal halide perovskite materials in representative promising applications, including traditional optoelectronic devices(solar cells, light-emitting diodes, photodetectors, lasers), and cutting-edge technologies in terms of neuromorphic devices(artificial synapses and memristors) and pressure-induced emission. 15Diagnostic accuracy of cystoscopic biopsy for tumour grade in outpatients with urothelial carcinoma of the bladder and the risk factors of upgrading显示文摘Objective:To assess the concordance of tumour grade in specimens obtained from diagnostic cystoscopic biopsy and transurethral resection of bladder tumour(TURBT)and explore the risk factors of upgrading.Methods:The medical records of 205 outpatients who underwent diagnostic cystoscopic biopsy before initial TURBT were retrospectively reviewed.Comparative analysis of the tumour grade of biopsy and operation specimens was performed.Tumour grade changing from low-grade to high-grade with or without variant histology was defined as upgrading.Logistic regression an-alyses were performed to identify the risk factors of upgrading.Results:For the 205 patients,the concordance of tumour grade between specimens obtained from biopsy and operation was 0.639.The concordance for patients who were preoperatively diagnosed with low-grade and high-grade was 0.504 and 0.912,respectively.Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses showed that older age,tumour multifocality,high neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio(NLR),platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio(PLR),and low lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio(LMR)were significantly associated with upgrading(odds ratio ranging from 0.412 to 4.364).The area under the curve of the different multivariate models was improved from 0.752 to 0.821,and decision curve analysis demonstrated a high net benefit when NLR,LMR,and PLR were added.Conclusion:Diagnostic cystoscopic biopsy may not accurately represent the true grade of primary bladder cancer,especially for outpatients with low-grade bladder cancer.Moreover,older age,tumour multifocality,high NLR,PLR,and low LMR are risk factors of upgrading,and systemic inflammatory markers improve the predictive ability.Junjie Fan Hua Liang Jinhai Fan Lei Li Guanjun Zhang Xinqi Pei Tao Yang Dalin He Kaijie Wu 2023Asian Journal of Urology2023,10,1:0

17Nondestructive identification of softness via bioinspired multisensory electronic skins integrated on a robotic hand显示文摘Tactile sensing is essentially required for dexterous manipulation in robotic applications.Mimicking human perception of softness identification in a non-invasive fashion,thus achieving satisfactory interaction with fragile objects remains a grand challenge.Here,a scatheless measuring methodology based on the multisensory electronic skins to quantify the elastic coefficient of soft materials is reported.This recognition approach lies in the preliminary classification of softness by piezoelectric signals with a modified machine learning algorithm,contributing to an appropriate contact force assignment for subsequent quantitative measurements via strain sensing feedback.The integration of multifunctional sensing system allows the manipulator to hold capabilities of selfsensing and adaptive grasping motility in response to objects with the various softness(i.e.,kPa-MPa).As a proof-of-concept demonstration,the biomimetic manipulator cooperates with the robotic arm to realize the intelligent sorting of oranges varying in freshness,paving the way for the development of microsurgery robots,human-machine interfacing,and advanced prosthetics.Ye Qiu Shenshen Sun Xueer Wang Kuanqiang Shi Zhiqiang Wang Xiaolong Ma Wenan Zhang Guanjun Bao Ye Tian Zheng Zhang Hao Ding Hao Chai Aiping Liu Huaping Wu 2022npj Flexible Electronics2022,6,1:0
18Enhanced figure of merit for famatinite Cu_(3)SbSe_(4)via band structure tuning and hierarchical architecture显示文摘The p-type Te-free Cu_(3)SbSe_(4)with famatinite structure is a potential candidate for thermoelectric materials due to the low cost and eco-friendly constituent elements.However,its strong bipolar effect and high lattice thermal conductivity(klat)are the main challenges for its performance enhancement.Herein,we report a new strategy to enhance its figure of merit zT~0.86 at 673 K for Cu_(3)Sb_(0.95)Fe_(0.05)Se_(2.8)S_(1.2)via band structure tuning and hierarchical architecture.Firstly,S substituted Se atoms in lattice can widen the band gap to alleviate the bipolar effect.Secondly,Fe doping in Sb site significantly increases the density of states,thus increasing the carrier effective mass,and obtaining a remarkably high Seebeck coefficient of~560 mV/K at 300 K.Moreover,the induced hierarchical architecture defects resulting in a minimum klat of~0.48 W·m^(-1)·K^(-1)at 673 K.Consequently,the improved Seebeck coefficient combined with low thermal conductivity leads to an enhanced zT.Lijun Zhao Haolin Ye Xinmeng Wu Jian Yang Lihua Yu Zhongqi Shi Shahid Hussain Guanjun Qiao Junhua Xu Bangzhi Ge Li Wang Chongjian Zhou 2023Journal of Materiomics2023,9,6:0
