1Clinical characteristics and effectiveness of antiviral agents in hospitalized children with infectious mononucleosis in China:A multicenter retrospective study显示文摘Importance:The clinical characteristics of infectious mononucleosis(IM)in Chinese children have not been evaluated in multicenter studies,and the effectiveness of antiviral treatment are controversial.Objective:To investigate the clinical characteristics of Chinese children with IM and current status of antiviral therapy for affected patients.Methods:Hospitalized patients with IM were enrolled between 2018 and 2020 in five children’s hospitals in China.The clinical characteristics were compared among four age groups:<3 years,3-<6 years,6-<10 years,and≥10 years.The clinical characteristics of IM and effectiveness of antiviral therapy were compared among patients receiving acyclovir(ACV),ganciclovir(GCV),and no antiviral therapy(i.e.,non-antiviral group).Results:In total,499 patients were analyzed;most patients were 3-<6 years of age.The most common symptoms and signs included fever(100%),lymphadenopathy(98.6%),pharyngitis(86.4%),eyelid edema(76.8%),and snoring(72.9%).There were significant differences in rash,hepatomegaly,and liver dysfunction among the four age groups.Patients aged<3 years had a lower incidence of liver dysfunction and a higher incidence of rash.Among the 499 patients,50.1%were treated with GCV,26.3%were treated with ACV,and 23.6%received no antiviral therapy.Compared with the non-antiviral group,patients in the ACV and GCV groups had longer durations of fever(P<0.001).There were no significant differences in the incidences of complications among the three treatment groups.Interpretation:The incidence of IM in Chinese children peaked at 3-<6 years of age.Clinical features of IM varied according to age.Patients receiving antiviral therapy exhibited more serious clinical manifestations than did patients without antiviral therapy.The effectiveness of antiviral therapy for IM requires further analysis.Huili Hu Huiling Deng Jing Bi Yi Xu Shuangjie Li Yue Xie Xinrong Sun Dongmeng Wang Xufang Li Wenxian Ouyang Bing Hu Yufeng Zhang He Tang Chunxiao Fang Hui Zhang Lingyun Guo Chen Wang Tianyi Wang Fengxia Yang Tao Jiang Zhengde Xie Gang Liu 2021Pediatric Investigation2021,5,3:12
2Effect of Calcium Oxide Additive on the Performance of Iron Oxide Sorbent for High-Temperature Coal Gas Desulfurization显示文摘The effect of calcium oxide additive in iron oxide sorbent for hot gas desulfurization was investigated by XRD and TPR techniques.XRD characterization showed that CaO was highly dispersed after the calcination of sorbents.Calcium sulfate formed in the desulfurization was decomposed and regenerated to CaO by reacting with CO before the next sulfidation process.Calcium participated in every sulfidation/regeneration cycle and contributed to the enhancement of sulfur capacity.The TPR results showed that the reduction temperature of the sorbent increased with the increase of the content of calcium.Calcium played a role of retarding reduction.Therefore,the addition of calcium oxide additive will benefit the utilization of iron oxide sorbent in strongly reducing atmospheres.Huiling Fan Kechang Xie Ju Shangguan Fang Shen Chunhu Li 2007Journal of Natural Gas Chemistry2007,16,4:7

5A nanocleaner specifically penetrates the blood-brain barrier at lesions to clean toxic proteins and regulate inflammation in Alzheimer's disease显示文摘Insurmountable blood-brain barrier(BBB) and complex pathological features are the key factors affecting the treatment of Alzheimer's disease(AD).Poor accumulation of drugs in lesion sites and undesired effectiveness of simply reducing Aβ deposition or TAU protein need to be resolved urgently.Herein,a nanocleaner is designed with a rapamycin-loaded ROS-responsive PLGA core and surface modification with KLVFF peptide and acid-cleavable DAG peptide [R@(ox-PLGA)-KcD].DAG can enhance the targeting and internalization effect of nanocleaner towards neurovascular unit endothelial cells in AD lesions,and subsequently detach from nanocleaner in response to acidic microenvironment of endosomes to promote the transcytosis of nanocleaner from endothelial cells into brain parenchyma.Then exposed KLVFF can capture and carry Aβ to microglia,attenuating Aβ-induced neurotoxicity.Strikingly,rapamycin,an autophagy promoter,is rapidly liberated from nanocleaner in the high ROS level of lesions to improve Aβ degradation and normalize inflammatory condition.This design altogether accelerates Aβ degradation and alleviates oxidative stress and excessive inflammatory response.Collectively,our finding offers a strategy to target the AD lesions precisely and multi-pronged therapies for clearing the toxic proteins and modulating lesion microenvironment,to achieve efficient AD therapy.Ting Lei Zhihang Yang Xue Xia Yuxiu Chen Xiaotong Yang Rou Xie Fan Tong Xiaolin Wang Huile Gao 2021Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2021,11,12:4
6The fabrication and optimization of OTFT formaldehyde sensors based on Poly(3-hexythiophene)/ZnO composite films显示文摘Formaldehyde(HCHO),a colorless and pungent-smelling gas,is confirmed be a huge threat to human health.The detection of formaldehyde is necessary and important.The Poly(3-hexythiophene)(P3HT)/ZnO organic-inorganic composite thin film was fabricated and used as the sensitive layer of organic thin film transistors(OTFT) by spray-deposited method to detect HCHO at room temperature.The process parameters such as P3HT/ZnO weight ratios and airbrushed masses were optimized.The results showed that P3HT/ZnO OTFT exhibited good sensing response to HCHO.Airbrushed mass of 1ml was the optimal mass,and the 1:1 and 1:5 weight ratios of P3HT/ZnO exhibited better sensing properties compared with others.OTFT gas sensors based on P3HT/ZnO composite film provides a novel promising approach to the detection of HCHO.LI Xian JIANG YaDong TAI HuiLing XIE GuangZhong DAN WenChao 2013Science China(Technological Sciences)2013,56,8:3
7Flexible organic thin-film transistors based on poly(3-hexylthiophene) films for nitrogen dioxide detection显示文摘Flexible nitrogen dioxide(NO_2) gas sensors based on organic thin-film transistors(OTFTs) were developed in this work, in which conductive indium tin oxide(ITO) coated polyethylene naphthalene-2,6-dicarboxylate(PEN) was designed for the flexible substrates, and poly methyl methacrylate(PMMA) and poly(3-hexylthiophene)(P3HT) was spin-coated as the gate dielectric layer and spray-deposited as the active layer, respectively. The effects of PMMA concentrations and P3HT solution volume on performances of flexible OTFTs were systematically investigated. The results showed that the optimized flexible OTFT exhibited high field-effect mobility(9.51×10^(–3) cm^2/(V s) at a gate bias of –50 V) and excellent response characteristics,including high sensitivity(up to 0.169 ppm^(–1)), good repeatability and selectivity. The flexibility of the developed OTFT sensor was also investigated, and the results showed that the electrical and gas-sensing properties were affected by the bending cycles,thus further work should be done for improving the flexibility of the sensor. 8Synthesis and DNA Adsorption of Poly(2-Vinyl-4,6-Diamino-1,3,5-Triazine)Coated Polystyrene Microspheres显示文摘To take advantage of the polymer's special properties, we synthesized PVDAT coated polystyrene(PVDAT@PS) microspheres through semi-continuous precipitation polymerization, and demonstrated the possibility of controlling the size of microspheres by using different sized PS cores. Mechanism of the microsphere synthesis was investigated. 13Gas sensors for CO_2 detection based on RGO–PEI films at room temperature显示文摘In this paper,polyethyleneimine(PEI)and reduced graphene oxide(RGO)were selected as sensing materials for carbon dioxide detection.Two kinds of sensors with different sensitive film structures,i.e.,RGO–PEI composite film and RGO–PEI bi-layer film were fabricated by airbrushing the sensitive films on interdigitated electrodes.Response performances of both sensors at room temperature were investigated.Results showed that sensors with bi-layer film exhibited smaller baseline drift and more stable sensing characteristics than the counterparts with composite film.Furthermore,bi-layer film sensors with different quantity of PEI solution deposited were studied.Performances of long-time stability,repeatability,low concentration of detection for carbon dioxide,and measurements of response time and recovery time were investigated.It was found that appropriate weight ratio of RGO and PEI was critical for sensing response.In addition,the sensor with bi-layer film exhibited a better repeatability but had longer response time and recovery time than RGO single-layer sensor,and both of them could detect as low as20 parts per million carbon dioxide gas.Sensing responses of the prepared sensors to carbon dioxide under dry air or nitrogen were compared.The relevant sensing mechanisms were studied as well.Yong Zhou Yadong Jiang Guangzhong Xie Mei Wu Huiling Tai 2014Chinese Science Bulletin2014,59,17:2
14Adsorption behaviors of gas molecules on the surface of ZnO nanocrystals under UV irradiation显示文摘A UV-activated room temperature chemiresistive gas sensor based on ZnO nanocrystals film was fabricated. Its gas sensing properties under various conditions were also investigated in detail. The results shed new insight into the adsorption behaviors of gas molecules on the surface of ZnO nanocrystals under UV irradiation. The chemisorbed oxygen species(O^-2(ads)(hv)) induced by UV light govern the adsorption and desorption ways of other gas molecules on the surface of ZnO nanocrystals, which is dependent on the electron affinity of gas molecules. Gas molecules with higher electron affinity than oxygen molecules can be adsorbed on the surface by the competitive adsorption way, extracting electrons from the surface. Gas molecules with lower electron affinity than oxygen molecules are attracted by the adsorbed O^-2(ads)(hv)layer, releasing electrons to the surface. These processes can influence the gas sensing properties of the sensor. 15Selenium-enriched Cardamine violifolia protects against sepsis-induced intestinal injury by regulating mitochondrial fusion in weaned pigs显示文摘Sepsis is a life-threatening organ dysfunction caused by the dysregulated response of the host to an infection, and treatments are limited. Recently, a novel selenium source, selenium-enriched Cardamine violifolia(SEC) has attracted much attention due to its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, but little is known about its role in the treatment of sepsis. Here, we found that SEC alleviated LPS-induced intestinal damage, as indicated by improved intestinal morphology, and increased disaccharidase activity and tight junction protein expression. Moreover, SEC ameliorated the LPS-induced release of pro-inflammatory cytokines, as indicated by decreased IL-6 level in the plasma and jejunum. Moreover, SEC improved intestinal antioxidant functions by regulating oxidative stress indicators and selenoproteins. In vitro, TNF-α-challenged IPEC-1 cells were examined and showed that selenium-enriched peptides, which are the main functional components extracted from Cardamine violifolia(CSP), increased cell viability, decreased lactate dehydrogenase activity and improved cell barrier function. Mechanistically, SEC ameliorated LPS/TNF-α-induced perturbations in mitochondrial dynamics in the jejunum and IPEC-1 cells. Moreover, CSPmediated cell barrier function is primarily dependent on the mitochondrial fusion protein MFN2 but not MFN1. 16DDR1 promotes LoVo cell proliferation by regulating energy metabolism显示文摘Cellular energy metabolism dysregulation is associated with colorectal cancer(CRC)development and progression.Discoidin domain receptor 1a(DDR1a),one of the five DDR1 isoforms,is closely related to cell proliferation,invasion,and apoptosis in various tumors.Whether it participates in cellular metabolic reprogramming and regulates CRC initiation and progression remains unclear.In this study,we compared the expression of DDR1 in CRC tissues and adjacent tissues from 126 postoperative CRC samples.Moreover,lentivirus-mediated DDR1a overexpression and knockdown were performed in LoVo cells,and cell viability and proliferation were determined by CCK-8 and BrdU assays,respectively.Oxygen consumption rate,extracellular acidification rate,and lactate production were used to determine the effect of DDR1a on metabolic reprogramming.Clinically,CRC patients with high DDR1 expression had poor differentiation and were at an advanced TNM stage.DDR1a promoted LoVo cell proliferation,mitochondrial function,and extracellular acidification.Moreover,DDR1a knockdown inhibited intracellular lactic acid production in LoVo cells,while a pyruvate kinase inhibitor(diamide,200μM)significantly reversed this progression.Taken together,our results reveal that DDR1 plays a crucial role in maintaining intracellular environment homeostasis through metabolic reprogramming.Bin Xiong Zehui Xie Feixue Song Huiling Chen Xiaojuan Wang Zhengxu Jin Tiyun Han Yi Li Dekui Zhang 2022Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2022,54,5:1

20A carbon monoxide sensor based on single-walled carbon nanotubes doped with copper chloride显示文摘A carbon monoxide gas sensor based on single-walled carbon nanotube(SWCNT)has been developed for detection of carbon monoxide(CO)at room temperature.Copper chloride(CuCl)was mixed with SWNT by mechanical blending.The thin film was deposited on interdigitated electrodes by using airbrush technology.This paper described the fabrication of the sensor for detecting carbon monoxide with concentrations from 20 ppm to 100 ppm.The performance of CO gas sensor was measured by using relevant apparatus to obtain the continuous sensor electric resistance change on exposure to CO and air atmosphere at room temperature,respectively.The results exhibited that the senor presented a larger sensitivity and a good recoverability.The experimental results suggested the potential use of CuCl doped SWCNT for CO detecting.ZHANG GuangDi TAI HuiLing XIE GuangZhong JIANG YaDong ZHOU Yong 2013Science China(Technological Sciences)2013,56,10:1
