| 1 | Carbon-based derivatives from metal-organic frameworks as cathode hosts for Li–S batteries显示文摘Lithium-sulfur batteries(Li–S batteries) are promising candidates for the next generation high-energy rechargeable Li batteries due to their high theoretical specific capacity(1672 m Ahg-1) and energy density(2500 Wh kg-1). The commercialization of Li–S batteries is impeded by several key challenges at cathode side, e.g. the insulating nature of sulfur and discharged products(Li2S 2 and Li2S), the solubility of long-chain polysulfides and volume variation of sulfur cathode upon cycling. Recently, the carbonbased derivatives from metal-organic frameworks(MOFs) has emerged talent in their utilization as cathode hosts for Li–S batteries. They are not only highly conductive and porous to enable the acceleration of Li +/e-transfer and accommodation of volumetric expansion of sulfur cathode during cycling, but also enriched by controllable chemical active sites to enable the adsorption of polysulfides and promotion of their conversion reaction kinetics. | 2 | Phot2-regulated relocation of NPH_3 mediates phototropic response to high-intensity blue light in Arabidopsis thaliana显示文摘Two redundant blue-light receptors, known as phototropins(phot1 and phot2), influence a variety of physiological responses, including phototropism, chloroplast positioning, and stomatal opening in Arabidopsis thaliana.Whereas phot1 functions in both low-and high-intensity blue light(HBL), phot2 functions primarily in HBL. Here, we aimed to elucidate phot2-specific functions by screening for HBLinsensitive mutants among mutagenized Arabidopsis phot1 mutants. One of the resulting phot2 signaling associated(p2 sa) double mutants, phot1 p2 sa2, exhibited phototropic defects that could be restored by constitutively expressing NON-PHOTOTROPIC HYPOCOTYL 3(NPH3), indicating that P2 SA2 was allelic to NPH3. It was observed that NPH3-GFP signal mainly localized to and clustered on the plasma membrane in darkness. This NPH3 clustering on the plasma High-Immembrane was not affected by mutations in genes encoding proteins that interact with NPH3, including PHOT1, PHOT2 and ROOT PHOTOTROPISM 2(RPT2). However, the HBL irradiationmediated release of NPH3 proteins into the cytoplasm was inhibited in phot1 mutants and enhanced in phot2 and rpt2-2 mutants. Furthermore, HBL-induced hypocotyl phototropism was enhanced in phot1 mutants and inhibited in the phot2 and rpt2-2 mutants. | 3 | Visible and Infrared Video Fusion Using Uniform Discrete Curvelet Transform and Spatial-Temporal Information显示文摘Multiple visual sensor fusion provides an effective way to improve the robustness and accuracy of video surveillance system. Traditional video fusion methods fuse the source videos using static image fusion methods frame-by-frame without considering the information in temporal dimension. The temporal information can't be fully utilized in fusion procedure. Aiming at this problem, a visible and infrared video fusion method based on Uniform discrete curvelet transform(UDCT) and spatial-temporal information is proposed. The source videos are decomposed by using UDCT, and a set of local spatial-temporal energy based fusion rules are designed for decomposition coefficients. In these rules, we consider the current frame's coefficients and the coefficients on temporal dimension which are the coefficients of adjacent frames. | 6 | The Response of Vegetation Biomass to Soil Properties along Degradation Gradients of Alpine Meadow at Zoige Plateau显示文摘Alpine grassland of the Tibetan Plateau has undergone severe degradation, even desertification. However, several questions remain to be answered, especially the response mechanisms of vegetation biomass to soil properties. In this study, an experiment on degradation gradients was conducted in an alpine meadow at the Zoige Plateau in 2017. Both vegetation characteristics and soil properties were observed during the peak season of plant growth. The classification and regression tree model(CART) and structural equation modelling(SEM) were applied to screen the main factors that govern the vegetation dynamics and explore the interaction of these screened factors. Both aboveground biomass(AGB) and belowground biomass(BGB) experienced a remarkable decrease along the degradation gradients. All soil properties experienced significant variations along the degradation gradients at the 0.05 significance level. Soil physical and chemical properties explained 54.78% of the variation in vegetation biomass along the degradation gradients. AGB was mainly influenced by soil water content(SWC), soil bulk density(SBD), soil organic carbon(SOC), soil total nitrogen(STN), and pH. Soil available nitrogen(SAN), SOC and p H, had significant influence on BGB. Most soil properties had positive effects on AGB and BGB, while SBD and p H had a slightly negative effect on AGB and BGB. The correlations of SWC with AGB and BGB were relatively less significant than those of other soil properties. Our results highlighted that the soil properties played important roles in regulating vegetation dynamics along the degradation gradients and that SWC is not the main factor limiting plant growth in the humid Zoige region. | 7 | Boosting single-band red upconversion luminescence in colloidal NaErF_4 nanocrystals:Effects of doping and inert shell显示文摘Single-band red upconversion luminescence(UCL) is vital to in vivo bioimaging as well as 'see and treat' biomedicines. Herein, starting with the previously reported β-NaErF4:Tm UCNPs, we examined the effects of both Yb^(3+) doping and inert shell coating on the red-to-green(R/G) ratio for Er3+ based UCL. The doping of Yb^(3+) into the β-NaErF4:Tm3+ core not only enhances the whole UCL intensity, but also raises the R/G ratio by 1.25 times. In addition, the coating of an inert NaYF4 shell, which is usually adopted for the enhancement of UCL intensity, further boosts the R/G value up to as high as 77.92. | 18 | Testing and Modeling of the Dynamic Response Characteristics of Pulsating Heat Pipes during the Start-up Process显示文摘Pulsating heat pipes(PHPs) are two-phase heat transfer heat pipes with high heat transfer capability and simple structure. Heating power is an important factor that affects the start-up response characteristics of PHPs. The operational characteristics during the start-up and stable operating stages were studied through experiments, and the corresponding dynamic response model under a specified heating power was established based on experimental data and flow pattern in the tube. The starting time, starting temperature, and dynamic response characteristic parameters at a certain heating power were calculated by the dynamic response model. The response characteristics of working fluid during the stable operation of PHPs were deduced based on the dynamic response curve of PHPs during the non-operational and stable operation stages. The response characteristics of PHPs for the step effect(given heating power) were quantitatively described by amplification factor K and time constant τ, thereby presenting the basis for the study on heat and mass transfer mechanisms of PHPs from non-operational to steady operation stage. Results showed that the minimum thermal resistance and the minimum time constant of the PHP are approximately 0.28 °C/W and 75, respectively, obtained at a heating power of 160 W. Moreover, these results indicated that the dynamic response of PHPs demonstrates a favourable performance and rapidly reaches another stable working state when their heat transfer performance is stable.
