1Spatial patterns and driving forces of land use change in China during the early 21st century显示文摘Land use and land cover change as the core of coupled human-environment systems has become a potential field of land change science (LCS) in the study of global environmental change. Based on remotely sensed data of land use change with a spatial resolution of 1 km × 1 km on national scale among every 5 years, this paper designed a new dynamic regionalization according to the comprehensive characteristics of land use change including regional differentiation, physical, economic, and macro-policy factors as well. Spatial pattern of land use change and its driving forces were investigated in China in the early 21st century. To sum up, land use change pattern of this period was characterized by rapid changes in the whole country. Over the agricultural zones, e.g., Huang-Huai-Hai Plain, the southeast coastal areas and Sichuan Basin, a great proportion of fine arable land were engrossed owing to considerable expansion of the built-up and residential areas, resulting in decrease of paddy land area in southern China. The development of oasis agriculture in Northwest China and the reclamation in Northeast China led to a slight increase in arable land area in northern China. Due to the 'Grain for Green' policy, forest area was significantly increased in the middle and western developing regions, where the vegetation coverage was substantially enlarged, likewise. 3Inhibition of SARS-CoV-2 (previously 2019-nCoV) infection by a highly potent pan-coronavirus fusion inhibitor targeting its spike protein that harbors a high capacity to mediate membrane fusion显示文摘The recent outbreak of coronavirus disease(COVID-19)caused by SARS-CoV-2 infection in Wuhan,China has posed a serious threat to global public health.To develop specific anti-coronavirus therapeutics and prophylactics,the molecular mechanism that underlies viral infection must first be defined.Therefore,we herein established a SARS-CoV-2 spike(S)protein-mediated cell-cell fusion assay and found that SARS-CoV-2 showed a superior plasma membrane fusion capacity compared to that of SARS-CoV.We solved the X-ray crystal structure of six-helical bundle(6-HB)core of the HR1 and HR2 domains in the SARS-CoV-2 S protein S2 subunit revealing that several mutated amino acid residues in the HR1 domain may be associated with enhanced interactions with the HR2 domain.We previously developed a pan-coronavirus fusion inhibitor,EK1,which targeted the HR!domain and could inhibit infection by divergent human coronaviruses tested,including SARS-CoV and MERS-CoV.Here we generated a series of lipopeptides derived from EK1 and found that EK1C4 was the most potent fusion inhibitor against SARS-CoV-2 S protein-mediated membrane fusion and pseudovirus infection with IC50s of 1.3 and 15.8 nM,about 241-and 149-fold more potent than the original EK1 peptide,respectively.EK1C4 was also highly effective against membrane fusion and infection of other human coronavirus pseudoviruses tested,including SARS-CoV and MERS-CoV,as well as SARSr-CoVs,and potently inhibited the replication of 5 live human coronaviruses examined,including SARS-CoV-2.Intranasal application of EK1C4 before or after challenge with HCoV-OC43 protected mice from infection,suggesting that EK1C4 could be used for prevention and treatment of infection by the currently circulating SARS-CoV-2 and other emerging SARSr-CoVs.Shuai Xia Meiqin Liu Chao Wang Wei Xu Qiaoshuai Lan Siliang Feng Feifei Qi Linlin Bao Lanying Du Shuwen Liu Chuan Qin Fei Sun Zhengli Shi Yun Zhu Shibo Jiang Lu Lu 2020Cell Research2020,30,4:81

6Xiba Granitic Pluton in the Qinling Orogenic Belt, Central China: Its Petrogenesis and Tectonic Implications显示文摘Xiba granitic pluton is located in South Qinling tectonic domain of the Qinling orogenic belt and consists mainly of granodiorite and monzogranite with significant number of microgranular quartz dioritic enclaves. SHRIMP zircon U-Pb isotopic dating reveals that the quartz dioritic enclaves formed at 214±3 Ma, which is similar to the age of their host monzogranite (218±1 Ma). The granitoids belong to high-K calc-alkaline series, and are characterized by enriched LILEs relative to HFSEs with negative Nb, Ta and Ti anomalies, and right-declined REE patterns with (La/Yb) N ratios ranging from 15.83 to 26.47 and δEu values from 0.78 to 1.22 (mean= 0.97). Most of these samples from Xiba granitic pluton exhibit εNd(t) values of 8.79 to 5.38, depleted mantle Nd model ages (T DM ) between 1.1 Ga and 1.7 Ga, and initial Sr isotopic ratios ( 87 Sr/ 86 Sr) i from 0.7061 to 0.7082, indicating a possible Meso-to Paleoproterozoic lower crust source region, with exception of samples XB01-2-1 and XB10-1 displaying higher ( 87 Sr/ 86 Sr) i values of 0.779 and 0.735, respectively, which suggests a contamination of the upper crustal materials. Quartz dioritic enclaves are interpreted as the result of rapid crystallization fractionation during the parent magmatic emplacement, as evidenced by similar age, texture, geochemical, and Sr-Nd isotopic features with their host rocks. Characteristics of the petrological and geochemical data reveal that the parent magma of Xiba granitoids was produced by a magma mingling process. The upwelling asthenosphere caused a high heat flow and the mafic magma was underplated into the bottom of the lower continent crust, which caused the partial melting of the lower continent crustal materials. This geodynamic process generated the mixing parent magma between mafic magma from depleted mantle and felsic magma derived from the lower continent crust. 7First mass measurement of short-lived nuclides at HIRFL-CSR显示文摘Recent commissioning of the HIRFL-CSR has demonstrated its ability to perform direct mass measurement for short-lived nuclides. Projectile fragments produced by the 78Kr ions at 481.88 MeV/u were separated with the new radioactive beam line in Lanzhou (RIBLL2), and injected into and stored in the experimental storage ring (CSRe). By operating the CSRe as an isochronous mass spectrometry, a typical mass resolution around 2.0×10?5 has been achieved. The masses for 63Ge, 65As and 67Se were measured for the first time. The measured masses are compared with theoretical predictions and the location of the proton drip-line for As isotopes is discussed. 8Inhibition of Rac1-dependent forgetting alleviates memory deficits in animal models of Alzheimer's disease显示文摘Accelerated forgetting has been identified as a feature of Alzheimer's disease(AD),but the therapeutic efficacy of the manipulation of biological mechanisms of forgetting has not been assessed in AD animal models.Ras-re-lated C3 botulinum toxin substrate 1(Rac1),a small GTPase,has been shown to regulate active forgetting in Drosophila and mice?Here,we showed that Rac1 activity is aberrantly elevated in the hippocampal tissues of AD patients and AD animal models.Moreover,amyloid-beta 42 could induce Rac1 activation in cultured cells.The elevation of Rac1 activity not only accelerated 6-hour spatial memory decay in 3-month-old APP/PS1 mice,but also significantly contributed to severe memory loss in aged APP/PS1 mice.A similar age-dependent Rac1 activity-based memory loss was also observed in an AD fly model.Moreover,inhibition of Rac1 activity could ameliorate cognitive defects and synaptic plasticity in AD animal models.Finally,two novel compounds,identified through behavioral screening of a randomly selected pool of brain permeable small molecules for their positive effect in rescuing memory loss in both fly and mouse models,were found to be capable of inhibiting Rac1 activity.Thus,multiple lines of evidence corroborate in supporting the idea that inhibition of Rac1 activity is effective for treating AD-related memory loss.Wenjuan Wu Shuwen Du Wei Shi Yunlong Liu Ying Hu Zuolei Xie Xinsheng Yao Zhenyu Liu Weiwei Ma Lin Xu Chao Ma Yi Zhong 2019Protein & Cell2019,10,10:10
9Use of Intensity Analysis to Measure Land Use Changes from 1932 to 2005 in Zhenlai County, Northeast China显示文摘Analyzing spatiotemporal dynamics of land use and land cover over time is widely recognized as important to better understand and provide solutions for social, economic, and environmental problems, especially in ecologically fragile region. In this paper, a case study was taken in Zhenlai County, which is a part of farming-pastoral ecotone of Northeast China. This study seeks to use multi-temporal satellite images and other data from various sources to analyze spatiotemporal changes from 1932 to 2005, and applied a quantitative methodology named intensity analysis in the time scale of decades at three levels: time interval, category, and transition. The findings of the case study are as follows: 1) the interval level of intensity analysis revealed that the annual rate of overall change was relatively fast in 1932–1954 and 1954–1976 time intervals. 2) The category level showed that arable land experienced less intensively gains and losses if the overall change was to have been distributed uniformly across the landscape while the gains and losses of forest land, grassland, water, settlement, wetland and other unused land were not consistent and stationary across the four time intervals. 3) The transition level illustrated that arable land expanded at the expense of grassland before 2000 while it gained intensively from wetland from 2000 to 2005. Settlement targets arable land and avoids grassland, water, wetland and other unused land. 12Performance analysis of multi-channel order statistics detector for range-spread target显示文摘The problem of two order statistics detection schemes for the detection of a spatially distributed target in white Gaussian noise are studied.When the number of strong scattering cells is known,we first show an optimal detector,which requires many processing channels.The structure of such optimal detector is complex.Therefore,a simpler quasi-optimal detector is then introduced.The quasi-optimal detector,called the strong scattering cells' number dependent order statistics(SND-OS) detector,takes the form of an average of maximum strong scattering cells with a known number.If the number of strong scattering cells is unknown in real situation,the multi-channel order statistics(MC-OS) detector is used.In each channel,a various number of maximums scattered from target are averaged.Then,the false alarm probability analysis and thresholds sets for each channel are given,following the detection results presented by means of Monte Carlo simulation strategy based on simulated target model and three measured targets.In particular,the theoretical analysis and simulation results highlight that the MC-OS detector can efficiently detect range-spread targets in white Gaussian noise.Shuwen Xu Penglang Shui 2012Journal of Systems Engineering and Electronics2012,23,5:5

14Technology and engineering application of cross area HVDC interconnection system high-precision simulation modeling based on ADPSS显示文摘In recent years, a large number of high voltage direct current(HVDC) transmission projects have been connected to AC systems. This has started to have an impact on AC/DC hybrid power grids, particularly receiving terminal power grids. An HVDC system is a large-scale power electronic integrated nonlinear system, and it includes a primary system and a control and protection system. Hence, the precision and degree of detail of HVDC systems directly affect the actual effect of simulation. In recent years, in the case of the normal operation and failure of AC power grids, the abnormal fluctuation and even locking of HVDC systems caused by the inappropriate strategies of the control and protection system component have strongly affected power grids. This has significantly affected the safety and stability of receiving power grids and normal operation. In this study, the actual engineering HVDC control logic provided by a manufacturer is analyzed and simulated based on the user defined component library of the ADPSS electromagnetic transient calculation program, and an HVDC control model based on an actual system is established.
