3Study on stabilities and electrochemical behavior of V(V) electrolyte with acid additives for vanadium redox flow battery显示文摘Several acid compounds have been employed as additives of the V(V) electrolyte for vanadium redox flow battery(VRB) to improve its stability and electrochemical activity. Stability of the V(V) electrolyte with and without additives was investigated with ex-situ heating/cooling treatment at a wide temperature range of-5 ?C to 60 ?C. It was observed that methanesulfonic acid, boric acid, hydrochloric acid, trifluoroacetic acid,polyacrylic acid, oxalic acid, methacrylic acid and phosphotungstic acid could improve the stability of the V(V) electrolyte at a certain range of temperature. Their electrochemical behaviors in the V(V) electrolyte were further studied by cyclic voltammetry(CV), steady state polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS). 4Development of Light Cycle Oil(LCO) Hydrocracking Technology over a Commercial W-Ni Based Catalyst显示文摘Because of its high density and low cetane number, the light cycle oil(LCO) containing heavy aromatics(60%—80%) can hardly be transformed through the conventional hydro-upgrading technology. In this report, a novel LCO hydrocracking technology(FD2G) was proposed for the utilization of LCO to manufacture high value-added products. Through the ingenious combination of hydroprocessing catalyst and the hydrocracking process, the high octane gasoline and the ultra-low sulfur diesel(ULSD) blendstocks were produced simultaneously. The influence of catalyst type, reaction temperature, pressure, respectively, on the research octane number(RON) of produced gasoline was studied in a fixed bed hydrogenation reactor. It indicated that high reaction temperature and medium pressure would favor the production of highoctane gasoline through the conversion of bi-aromatic and tri-aromatic hydrocarbons. The typical results of FD2 G technology on commercial units showed that it could produce clean diesel with a sulfur content of less than 10 μg/g and clean gasoline with a research octane number(RON) of up to 92. 7All-small-molecule dynamic covalent gels with antibacterial activity by boronate-tannic acid gelation显示文摘Reversible boronate-catechol linkage was widely used to construct two-dimensional coatings and threedimensional nanostructures or hydrogels.The construction of these functional materials usually requires the pre-synthesis of macro molecular building blocks,and direct gelation between natural polyphenols and small molecule boranic acids is yet to be investigated.In this study,we fabricated a family of allsmall-molecule dynamic covalent gels consisting of tannic acid and boronic acids.Transparent and thixotropic gels were formed by boronate affinity towards catechol groups abundant on natural polyphenols.The gels showed multi-responsiveness,such as acid-,base-,reduction-and oxidantsensitive depending on the used boronic acid building blocks.The chemistry for gel formation and stimuli-responsiveness was characterized by11B NMR spectroscopy.The multi-stimuli responsiveness,green processing and facile modular design make the boronic acid-tannic acid gels promising candidates for the development of smart soft materials.Xuejing Cheng Mengyu Li Hui Wang Yiyun Cheng 2020Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,3:6

13Protective Effect of Holothurian Intestine Against Indomethacin Induced Gastric Mucosal Damage in Rats显示文摘Our study aimed to investigate the protective effects of Holothurian intestines(HI) on NSAIDs-induced gastric mucosal damage and the possible mechanism. At first, 60 male Wistar rats were induced of gastric lesions with indomethacin(IDM, 30 mg kg^(-1)). The rats were pretreated for 15 consecutive days with saline, sucralfate, or HI(0.4g kg^(-1) d-1, 0.8 g kg^(-1) d^(-1) and 1.6 g kg^(-1) d^(-1)) prior to IDM treatment, followed by evaluations of macroscopic damage and microscopic features; and investigation of the levels of inflammatory cytokines, oxidative stress parameters, gastric mucosal prostaglandin E2(PGE2) and total hexosamine in tissues. The expression of COX-1 and COX-2 m RNA in the gastric tissue were determined by quantitative polymerase chain reaction(q PCR). Pathological gastric ulcer indexes, levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines(IL-1β, IL-17, TNF-α) and lipid peroxidation were significantly decreased in HI-treated groups, whereas the levels of protective factors(TGF-β, GSH, SOD activity and PGE2) were significantly elevated especially in the group with HI 1.61 g kg^(-1) d^(-1)(P < 0.05). Furthermore, the expression of COX-2 mRNA decreased significantly in HI groups(P < 0.05). 16Late Paleozoic to Mesozoic Intrusions Distribution in the North Sanjiang Orogenic Belt,Southwest China:Evidence from Zircon U-Pb Dating and Geochemistry显示文摘A mosaic of terranes or blocks and associated Late Paleozoic to Mesozoic sutures are characteristics of the north Sanjiang orogenic belt(NSOB).A detailed field study and sampling across the three magmatic belts in north Sanjiang orogenic belt,which are the Jomda-Weixi magmatic belt,the Yidun magmatic belt and the Northeast Lhasa magmatic belt,yield abundant data that demonstrate multiphase magmatism took place during the late Paleozoic to early Mesozoic.9 new zircon LA-ICP-MS U-Pb ages and 160 published geochronological data have identified five continuous episodes of magma activities in the NSOB from the Late Paleozoic to Mesozoic:the Late Permian to Early Triassic(c.261-230 Ma);the Middle to Late Triassic(c.229-210 Ma);the Early to Middle Jurassic(c.206-165 Ma);the Early Cretaceous(c.138-110 Ma) and the Late Cretaceous(c.103-75 Ma).105 new and 830 published geochemical data reveal that the intrusive rocks in different episodes have distinct geochemical compositions.The Late Permian to Early Triassic intrusive rocks are all distributed in the Jomda-Weixi magmatic belt,showing arc-like characteristics;the Middle to Late Triassic intrusive rocks widely distributed in both Jomda-Weixi and Yidun magmatic belts,also demonstrating volcanic-arc granite features;the Early to Middle Jurassic intrusive rocks are mostly exposed in the easternmost Yidun magmatic belt and scattered in the westernmost Yangtza Block along the Garze-Litang suture,showing the properties of syn-collisional granite;nearly all the Early Cretaceous intrusive rocks distributed in the NE Lhasa magmatic belt along Bangong suture,exhibiting both arc-like and syn-collision-like characteristics;and the Late Cretaceous intrusive rocks mainly exposed in the westernmost Yidun magmatic belt,with A-type granite features.These suggest that the co-collision related magmatism in Indosinian period developed in the central and eastern parts of NSOB while the Yanshan period co-collision related magmatism mainly occurred in the west area.In detail,the earliest magmatism developed in late Permian to Triassic and formed the Jomda-Wei magmatic belt,then magmatic activity migrated eastwards and westwards,forming the Yidun magmatic bellt,the magmatism weakend at the end of late Triassic,until the explosure of the magmatic activity occurred in early Cretaceous in the west NSOB,forming the NE Lhasa magmatic belt.Then the magmatism migrated eastwards and made an impact on the within-plate magmatism in Yidun magmatic belt in late Cretaceous.GONG Xuejing YANG Zhusen MENG Xiangjin PAN Xiaofei WANG Qian ZHANG Lejun 2017Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2017,91,3:4
17The active surveillance management approach for patients with low risk papillary thyroid microcarcinomas: is China ready?显示文摘Due to exponential increases in incidences,low risk papillary thyroid microcarcinoma(PTMC)has become a clinical and social issue in recent years.An active surveillance(AS)management approach is an alternative to immediate surgery for patients with low risk PTMC.With decreased doubts about the safety and validity due to evidence from a large number of studies,the AS approach has become increasingly popular worldwide.However,Chinese thyroid surgeons still lag behind other countries in their knowledge of clinical practices and research related to AS.To promote the implementation of AS in China,thyroid surgeons should understand the implications,advantages,and disadvantages of management approaches for AS,and should also consider the willingness of Chinese patients,the impact on the medical billing system,and the enthusiasm of doctors.Thus,a management approach for AS based on the Chinese population should be developed to reduce the risk of disease progression and enhance patient adherence.Herein,we summarize the recent research achievements and deficiencies in AS approaches,and describe the initial experiences regarding AS in the Chinese population,in order to assist Chinese thyroid surgeons in preparing for AS management in the era of PTMC precision medicine.Wen Liu Xuejing Yan Ruochuan Cheng 2022Cancer Biology & Medicine2022,19,5:4
18Multiobjective fault detection and isolation for flexible air-breathing hypersonic vehicle显示文摘An application of the multiobjective fault detection and isolation(FDI) approach to an air-breathing hypersonic vehicle(HSV) longitudinal dynamics subject to disturbances is presented.Maintaining sustainable and safe flight of HSV is a challenging task due to its strong coupling effects,variable operating conditions and possible failures of system components.A common type of system faults for aircraft including HSV is the loss of effectiveness of its actuators and sensors.To detect and isolate multiple actuator/sensor failures,a faulty linear parameter-varying(LPV) model of HSV is derived by converting actuator/system component faults into equivalent sensor faults.Then a bank of LPV FDI observers is designed to track individual fault with minimum error and suppress the effects of disturbances and other fault signals.The simulation results based on the nonlinear flexible HSV model and a nominal LPV controller demonstrate the effectiveness of the fault estimation technique for HSV.Xuejing Cai Fen Wu 2011Journal of Systems Engineering and Electronics2011,22,1:4
19Nano-bio interactions: the implication of size-dependent biological effects of nanomaterials显示文摘Due to their many advantageous properties,nanomaterials(NMs)have been utilized in diverse consumer goods,industrial products,and for therapeutic purposes.This situation leads to a constant risk of exposure and uptake by the human body,which are highly dependent on nanomaterial size.Consequently,an improved understanding of the interactions between different sizes of nanomaterials and biological systems is needed to design safer and more clinically relevant nano systems.We discuss the sizedependent effects of nanomaterials in living organisms.Upon entry into biological systems,nanomaterials can translocate biological barriers,distribute to various tissues and elicit different toxic effects on organs,based on their size and location.The association of nanomaterial size with physiological structures within organs determines the site of accumulation of nanoparticles.In general,nanomaterials smaller than 20 nm tend to accumulate in the kidney while nanomaterials between 20 and 100 nm preferentially deposit in the liver.After accumulating in organs,nanomaterials can induce inflammation,damage structural integrity and ultimately result in organ dysfunction,which helps better understand the size-dependent dynamic processes and toxicity of nanomaterials in organisms.The enhanced permeability and retention effect of nanomaterials and the utility of this phenomenon in tumor therapy are also highlighted.Xiaoyu Wang Xuejing Cui Yuliang Zhao Chunying Chen 2020Science China(Life Sciences)2020,63,8:4
20Cytotoxicity and autophagy induction by graphene quantum dots with different functional groups显示文摘Graphene quantum dots(GQDs) possess great potential in various applications due to their superior physicochemical properties and wide array of available surface modifications.However, the toxicity of GQDs has not been systematically assessed, thus hindered their further development; especially, the risk of surface modifications of GQDs is largely unknown. In this study, we employed a lung carcinoma A549 cells as the model to investigate the cytotoxicity and autophagy induction of three types GQDs, including cGQDs(COOH-GQDs), hGQDs(OH-GQDs), and aGQDs(NH_2-GQDs). The results showed hGQDs was the most toxic, as significant cell death was induced at the concentration of 100 μg/mL,determining by WST-1 assay as well as Annexin-V-FITC/PI apoptosis analysis, whereas cGQDs and aGQDs were non-cytotoxic within the measured concentration. Autophagy detection was performed by TEM examination, LC3 fluorescence tracking, and Westernblot. Both aGQDs and hGQDs induced cellular autophagy to various degrees except for cGQDs. Further analysis on autophagy pathways indicated all GQDs significantly activated p-p38 MAPK; p-ERK1/2 was inhibited by aGQDs and hGQDs but activated by c GQDs. p-JNK was inhibited by aGQDs and c GQDs, while activated by hGQDs. Simultaneously, Akt was activated by hGQDs but inhibited by aGQDs. Inhibition of autophagy by 3-MA significantly increased the cytotoxicity of GQDs, suggesting that autophagy played a protective role against the toxicity of GQDs. In conclusion, c GQDs showed excellent biocompatibility and may be considered for biological applications.
