| 1 | Barometric altimetry system as virtual constellation applied in CAPS显示文摘This work describes the barometric altimetry as virtual constellation applied to the Chinese Area Positioning System (CAPS), which uses the transponders of communication satellites to transfer navigation messages to users. Barometric altimetry depends on the relationship of air pressure varying with altitude in the Earth’s atmosphere. Once the air pressure at a location is measured the site altitude can be found. This method is able to enhance and improve the availability of three-dimensional positioning. The difficulty is that the relation between barometric pressure and altitude is variable in different areas and under various weather conditions. Hence, in order to obtain higher accuracy, we need to acquire the real-time air pressure corresponding to an altimetric region’s reference height. On the other hand, the altimetry method will be applied to satellite navigation system, but the greatest difficulty lies in how to get the real-time air pressure value at the reference height in the broad areas overlaid by satellite navigation. We propose an innovational method to solve this problem. It is to collect the real-time air pressures and temperatures of the 1860 known-altitude weather observatories over China and around via satellite communication and to carry out time extrapolation forecast uniformly. To reduce data quantity, we first partition the data and encode them and then broadcast these information via navigation message to CAPS users’ receivers. Upon the interpolations being done in receivers, the reference air pressure and temperature at the receiver’s nearby place is derived. Lastly, combing with the receiver-observed real air pressure and temperature, the site’s altitude can be determined. The work is presented in the following aspects: the calculation principle, formulae, data collection, encoding, prediction, interpolation method, navigation message transmission together with errors causes and analyses. | 2 | Arrangement models of alkylammonium cations in the interlayer of HDTMA^+pillared montmorillonites显示文摘The orientation of HDTMA+ in the interlayer of organic pillared montmorillonites prepared at different concentrations of HDTMA+ have been studied using X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) and theoretical calculation. A series of arrangement models of HDTMA+ in the interlayer of montmorillonite have been proposed as lateral-monolayer (LM), lateral-bilayer (LB), pseudotrilayer (PT), paraf-fin-type-monolayer (PM), paraffin-type-bilayer (PB). With the increase of the concentration of HDTMA+, the arrange-ment model of HDTMA+ in the interlayer of montmorillo-nites changes as lateral-monolayer→lateral-bilayer→para- ffin-type monolayer→pseudotrilayer→paraffin-type-bilayer and the packing density of HDTMA+ in the interlayer in-creases gradually. | 3 | Concentrations and source identification of organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) in soils from Wolong Natural Reserve显示文摘In order to understand the distribution profile, composition characteristics and sources of OCPs, soil samples collected from Wolong Natural Reserve (WNR) in spring and autumn in 2005 were analyzed using gas chromatography coupled with electron capture detector (GC-ECD). Results showed that all OCPs concentrations were in the range of 10?2 ng/g―10?1 ng/g, representing the background level in those remote sites. Generally, their concentrations were slightly higher in spring than in autumn, which could be explained by OCPs: 1) may be released to soil from snow-melting water in spring; 2) partially evaporate into air from soil due to high temperature and intense radiation in summer and 3) can be relatively high degradation rate in summer. There were notable differences of OCPs seasonal variations between samples from alpine meadow and those from under-treeline. This phenomenon was related to physical-chemical properties of OCPs and vegetation coverage. For alpine meadow soils, levels of OCPs were increased with increasing altitudinal gradient, which was associated with enhanced scav-enging efficiency of wet precipitation. | 4 | Characteristics and source identification of fine particulate n-alkanes in Beijing, China显示文摘Ambient particulate n-alkanes were determined for fine particle (PM2.5) samples collected from Sep 2003 to July 2004 in Beijing, China. The average concentration of total n-alkanes ( n-alkanes) from C11 to C34 was 425.72 ng/m3, ranged from 7.02 to 2893.28 ng/m3. The concentration distributions of n-alkanes homologues in this study exhibited peaks at C21 and C29 in heating season, and C29 in non-heating season. The average carbon preference index (CPI) value was 1.88 in the range of 1.18-3.88. The maximum CPI in summer indicated the contribution of biogenic origins such as plant wax; while the minimum CPI value in winter was probably a result of fossil fuel combustion. Preliminary estimation from these results showed that 59% of the n-alkanes in PM2.5 in Beijing summer originated from plant wax, while 74%-88% was from fossil fuel combustion in other three seasons. Source estimation was further performed using principal component analysis method. | 5 | Xiuyan crater, China: Impact origin confirmed显示文摘The well-preserved 1.8-km-diameter Xiuyan crater is located in the low mountain-hill region of the northern part of Liaodong Peninsula of northern China. Recently, a 307-m-deep borehole at the centre of crater became available. After penetrating 107 m lacustrine sediments, a breccia lens about 188 m in thickness was encountered. The crater-fill breccia is deposits of rock clasts and fragments more or less shock-metamorphosed. | 7 | NaAlSi_3O_8-hollandite and other high-pressure minerals in the shock melt veins of the Suizhou meteorite显示文摘The Suizhou L6 chondrite contains a few very thin shock melt veins of 0.02-0.09 mm in width. In spite of small width of the veins, shock-induced high-pressure phases, such as coarse-grained NaAlSi3O8-hollandite, ringwoodite, majorite and fine-grained matrix majorite-pyropess have been discovered in these veins. NaAlSi3O8-hollandite, the high-pressure phase of plagioclase, in Suizhou shock veins occurs as a single phase mineral, no silicate glassy phase, such as albitic glass, was incorporated with it. The presence of above-mentioned high-pressure phases constrains the high pressure (up to 23-24 GPa) and high temperature (up to 1900-2000℃) regime in Suizhou shock veins, and indicates that the duration of high-pressure regime in the veins should be long enough (a few seconds) for phase transformation and crystallization of minerals under pressure. | 8 | Transplant outcomes of 100 cases of living-donor ABO-incompatible kidney transplantation显示文摘Background:Although ABO-incompatible(ABOi)kidney transplantation(KT)has been performed successfully,a standard preconditioning regimen has not been established.Based on the initial antidonor ABO antibody titers,an individualized preconditioning regimen is developed,and this study explored the efficacy and safety of the regimen.Methods:From September 1,2014,to September 1,2020,we performed 1668 consecutive living-donor KTs,including 100 ABOi and 1568 ABO-compatible(ABOc)KTs.ABOi KT recipients(KTRs)with a lower antibody titer(≤1:8)were administered oral immunosuppressive drugs(OIs)before KT,while patients with a medium titer(1:16)received OIs plus antibody-removal therapy(plasma exchange/double-filtration plasmapheresis),patients with a higher titer(≥1:32)were in addition received rituximab(Rit).Competing risk analyses were conducted to estimate the cumulative incidence of infection,acute rejection(AR),graft loss,and patient death.Results:After propensity score analyses,100 ABOi KTRs and 200 matched ABOc KTRs were selected.There were no significant differences in graft and patient survival between the ABOi and ABOc groups(P=0.787,P=0.386,respectively).After using the individualized preconditioning regimen,ABOi KTRs showed a similar cumulative incidence of AR(10.0%vs.10.5%,P=0.346).Among the ABOi KTRs,the Rit-free group had a similar cumulative incidence of AR(P=0.714)compared to that of the Rittreated group.Multivariate competing risk analyses revealed that a Rit-free regimen reduced the risk of infection(HR:0.31;95%CI:0.12–0.78,P=0.013).Notably,antibody titer rebound was more common in ABOi KTRs receiving a Rit-free preconditioning regimen(P=0.013)than those receiving Rit.ABOi KTRs with antibody titer rebound had a 2.72-fold risk of AR(HR:2.72,95%CI:1.01–7.31,P=0.048).ABOi KTRs had similar serum creatinine and estimated glomerular filtration rate compared to those of ABOc KTRs after the first year.Conclusions:An individualized preconditioning regimen can achieve comparable graft and patient survival rates in ABOi KT with ABOc KT.Rit-free preconditioning effectively prevented AR without increasing the risk of infectious events in those with lower initial titers;however,antibody titer rebound should be monitored. | Saifu Yin Qiling Tan Youmin Yang Fan Zhang Turun Song Yu Fan Zhongli Huang Tao Lin Xianding Wang | 2022 | Chinese Medical Journal2022,135,19: | 7 |
| 9 | Water yield reduction due to forestation in arid mountainous regions, northwest China显示文摘Forestation has been encouraged worldwide due to increasing demand for forest products, and for its ecological benefits such as soil erosion control and sediment reduction. However, forestation reduces runoff, thus potentially aggravating water shortages in arid regions. In order to quantitatively estimate the possible water yield reductions caused by forestation in an arid region, a small watershed (the Pailugou watershed) in the Qilian Mountains of northwest China was chosen as a study area. The responses of hydrological dynamics to different forestation scenarios in the study area were simulated using the TOPOG model. The results showed that forestation could lead to a complete loss of runoff at the site scale. At the watershed scale, a 10% increase in forest coverage led to a runoff reduction of 25.6 mm, equivalent to 13% of the runoffin the un-forested watershed. However, due to climatological and topographical constraints, the potential forest distribution occupied only 46.3% of the watershed area, and runoff reduction was estimated to reach a maximum of 60% when the forest cover ratio increased from 0.41% to 46.1%. Actual forest coverage is 36% in the study area, thus the water yield will be reduced with any further increase in forest area. | 10 | Effects of titanium on microstructure and mechanical properties of ZnAl4Y alloy显示文摘The effect of Ti on the microstructure and mechanical properties of zinc-aluminum ZnAl4Y alloy has been investigated in this work. Small amount of Ti was added into ZnAl4Y alloy in the form of Al-10wt.%Ti alloy. The results show that Ti addition into ZnAl4Y alloy refines the primary η-Zn phase and increases the amount of η-Zn + α-Al eutectic structure. There exists a ternary T phase in Zn-Al-Ti alloy. Fine TiAl3 particles and Ti-Zn compounds can serve as the nucleation sites of the α-Al and η-Zn phase, respectively, resulting in the refining of the microstructure of ZnAl4Y alloy. Ti addition changes the fracture characteristics of ZnAl4Y alloy. With 0.05wt%Ti, the fracture surface of the alloy shows a lot of dimples and tearing ridges connecting the microscopic dimples, which is mainly ductile fracture morphology. Ti addition into ZnAl4Y alloy also increases the mechanical properties of the alloy. | 13 | Stable Isotopes in Precipitation and Atmospheric Moisture of Pailugou Catchment in Northwestern China′s Qilian Mountains显示文摘Hydrogen and oxygen isotopes in precipitation have been widely used as effective traces to investigate hydrological processes such as evaporation and atmospheric moisture source. This study analyzed δD and δ^(18)O of precipitation in continuous event-based samples at three stations of Pailugou Catchment from November 2012 to December 2013. The δ^(18)O and δD values ranged from-32.32‰ to +3.23‰ and from-254.46‰ to +12.11‰, respectively. Results show that the δ^(18)O displayed a distinct seasonal variation, with enriched values occurring in summer and relatively depleted values in winter, respectively. There was a statistically significant positive correlation between the δ^(18)O and δD values and local surface air temperature at all the three stations. The nearest Global Network of Isotopes in Precipitation(GNIP) station(Zhangye), compared to the Meteoric Water Lines for this study, showed the obvious local evaporation effects with lower intercept and slope. Additionally, d-excess(δD- 8δ^(18)O) parameter in precipitation exhibited an anti-phase seasonal variability with the δ^(18)O. | 17 | High-pressure polymorph of TiO_2-Ⅱ from the Xiuyan crater of China显示文摘Abundant TiO2-Ⅱ,a high-pressure polymorph of titanium dioxide,was found in the gneiss fragments of impact-produced breccias from the Xiuyan crater.Rutile in the gneiss was severely fragmented and fine-grained clasts less than 2 m in size had been transformed to TiO2-II.Irregular thin layered TiO2-Ⅱ is also observed in coarse-grained rutile fragments,where the TiO2-Ⅱ layers distributes along fractures and cracks in rutile.About 30 percent of rutile in the gneiss had been transformed to TiO2-Ⅱ.Fine grains of TiO2-Ⅱ display light bluish grey to light yellow brown in plane-polarized reflected light.Crystallographic investigation shows that TiO2-Ⅱ has an orthorhombic structure with space group Pbcn.The cell parameters are a=4.543(1),b=5.491(9)and c=4.895(2).Its empirical formula calculated on the basis of two oxygen atoms can be written as(Ti0.985Fe0.008Nb0.006-Si0.003Zr0.001)1.003O2,or simply formula TiO2.According to the shock effects of quartz and feldspars,the peak shock pressure and post-shock temperature in the TiO2-Ⅱ-bearing gneiss are estimated to be between 35 and 43 GPa and 300–900°C,respectively.The finding of TiO2-Ⅱ in the shock-metamorphosed gneiss provides another mineral physics evidence for shock origin of the Xiuyan crater. | CHEN Ming GU XiangPing XIE XianDe YIN Feng | 2013 | Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,36: | 3 |
