| 1 | Screening for gastric cancer in China:Advances,challenges and visions显示文摘Gastric cancer(GC)is one of the major cancers in China and all over the world.Most GCs are diagnosed at an advanced stage with unfavorable prognosis.Along with some other countries,China has developed the government-funded national screening programs for GC and other major cancers.GC screening has been shown to effectively decrease the incidence of and mortality from GC in countries adopting nationwide screening programs(Japan and Korea)and in studies based on selected Chinese populations.The screening of GC relies mostly on gastroendoscopy,the accuracy,reliability and safety of which have been indicated by previous studies.However,considering its invasive screening approach,requirements on skilled endoscopists and pathologists,and a high cost,developing noninvasive methods to amend endoscopic screening would be highly needed.Numerous studies have examined biomarkers for GC screening and the combination of biomarkers involving pepsinogen,gastrin,and Helicobacter pylori antibodies has been proposed for risk stratification,seeking to narrow down the high-risk populations for further endoscopy.Despite all the achievements of endoscopic screening,evidence on appropriate screening age,intervals for repeated screening,novel biomarkers promoting precision prevention,and health economics need to be accumulated to inform policymakers on endoscopic screening in China.With the guide of Health China 2030 Planning Outline,we have golden opportunities to promote prevention and control of GC.In this review,we summarize the characteristics of screening programs in China and other East Asian countries and introduce the past and current approaches and strategies for GC screening,aiming for featuring the latest advances and key challenges,and illustrating future visions of GC screening. | Xiaohan Fan Xiangxiang Qin Yang Zhang Zhexuan Li Tong Zhou Jingying Zhang Weicheng You Wenqing Li Kaifeng Pan | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2021,33,2: | 21 |
| 2 | Three macrophage subsets are identified in the uterus during early human pregnancy显示文摘Macrophages are crucial for a successful pregnancy, and malfunctions of decidual macrophages correlate with adverse pregnancyoutcomes, such as spontaneous abortion and preeclampsia. Previously, decidual macrophages were often thought to be a singlepopulation. In the present study, we identified three decidual macrophage subsets, CCR2−CD11cLO (CD11clow, ~80%), CCR2−CD11cHI (CD11chigh, ~5%), and CCR2+CD11cHI (CD11chigh, 10–15%), during the first trimester of human pregnancy by flowcytometry analysis. CCR2−CD11cLO macrophages are widely distributed in the decidua, while CCR2−CD11cHI and CCR2+CD11cHImacrophages are primarily detected close to extravillous trophoblast cells according to immunofluorescence staining. According toRNA sequencing bioinformatics analysis and in vitro functional studies, these three subsets of macrophages have differentphagocytic capacities. CCR2+CD11cHI macrophages have pro-inflammatory characteristics, while the CCR2−CD11cHI population issuggested to be anti-oxidative and anti-inflammatory due to its high expression of critical heme metabolism-related genes,suggesting that these two subsets of macrophages maintain an inflammatory balance at the leading edge of trophoblast invasionto facilitate the clearance of pathogen infection as well as maintain the homeostasis of the maternal-fetal interface. | 7 | Dark matter direct search sensitivity of the PandaX-4T experiment显示文摘The Panda X-4T experiment, a 4-ton scale dark matter direct detection experiment, is being planned at the China Jinping Underground Laboratory. In this paper we present a simulation study of the expected background in this experiment. In a 2.8-ton fiducial mass and the signal region between 1-10 keV electron equivalent energy, the total electron recoil background is found to be 4.9 × 10^(-5) kg^(-1) d^(-1) keV^(-1). The nuclear recoil background in the same region is 2.8 × 10^(-7) kg^(-1) d^(-1) keV^(-1). | 12 | Comparisons of plant calcium fraction between two different vegetation zones in semi-arid region显示文摘To explore the characteristics of plant calcium(Ca) fraction, we analyzed 91 plant species in the Ningxia Habahu National Nature Reserve in Yanchi County of Ningxia and 84 plant species in Zhenglan Banner of Inner Mongolia. Results show that, for the two regions, there is no significant difference between Ca fraction for the same growth type, and between water soluble Ca content or between hydrochloric acid soluble Ca content for plants of the same ecosystem and between hydrochloric acid soluble Ca content for plants of the same family. In similar vegetation zones, there is a significant difference among hydrochloric acid soluble Ca content for different growth types in Yanchi County and Zhenglan Banner,which was the highest for annual herbs and the lowest for perennial herbs. There is a significant difference between acetic acid soluble Ca content and between hydrochloric acid soluble Ca content for sandy land and grassland ecosystems in Yanchi County. There is a significant difference among the same Ca fraction of different families in the same region. | 13 | Delivery of pOXR1 through an injectable liposomal nanoparticle enhances spinal cord injury regeneration by alleviating oxidative stress显示文摘Oxidation resistance 1(OXR1)is regarded as a critical regulator of cellular homeostasis in response to oxidative stress.However,the role of OXR1 in the neuronal response to spinal cord injury(SCI)remains undefined.On the other hand,gene therapy for SCI has shown limited success to date due in part to the poor utility of conventional gene vectors.In this study,we evaluated the function of OXR1 in SCI and developed an available carrier for delivering the OXR1 plasmid(pOXR1).We found that OXR1 expression is remarkably increased after SCI and that this regulation is protective after SCI.Meanwhile,we assembled cationic nanoparticles with vitamin E succinate-graftedε-polylysine(VES-g-PLL)(Nps).The pOXR1 was precompressed with Nps and then encapsulated into cationic liposomes.The particle size of pOXR1 was compressed to 58 nm,which suggests that pOXR1 can be encapsulated inside liposomes with high encapsulation efficiency and stability to enhance the transfection efficiency.The agarose gel results indicated that Nps-pOXR1-Lip eliminated the degradation of DNA by DNase I and maintained its activity,and the cytotoxicity results indicated that pOXR1 was successfully transported into cells and exhibited lower cytotoxicity.Finally,Nps-pOXR1-Lip promoted functional recovery by alleviating neuronal apoptosis,attenuating oxidative stress and inhibiting inflammation.Therefore,our study provides considerable evidence that OXR1 is a beneficial factor in resistance to SCI and that Nps-Lip-pOXR1 exerts therapeutic effects in acute traumatic SCI. | Jing Zhang Yao Li Jun Xiong Helin Xu Guanghen Xiang Mingqiao Fan Kailiang Zhou Yutian Lin Xiangxiang Chen Lin Xie Hongyu Zhang Jian Wang Jian Xiao | 2021 | Bioactive Materials2021,6,10: | 2 |

| 19 | A Modified Method for Scene Text Detection by ResNet显示文摘In recent years,images have played a more and more important role in our daily life and social communication.To some extent,the textual information contained in the pictures is an important factor in understanding the content of the scenes themselves.The more accurate the text detection of the natural scenes is,the more accurate our semantic understanding of the images will be.Thus,scene text detection has also become the hot spot in the domain of computer vision.In this paper,we have presented a modified text detection network which is based on further research and improvement of Connectionist Text Proposal Network(CTPN)proposed by previous researchers.To extract deeper features that are less affected by different images,we use Residual Network(ResNet)to replace Visual Geometry Group Network(VGGNet)which is used in the original network.Meanwhile,to enhance the robustness of the models to multiple languages,we use the datasets for training from multi-lingual scene text detection and script identification datasets(MLT)of 2017 International Conference on Document Analysis and Recognition(ICDAR2017).And apart from that,the attention mechanism is used to get more reasonable weight distribution.We found the proposed models achieve 0.91 F1-score on ICDAR2011 test,better than CTPN trained on the same datasets by about 5%. | Shaozhang Niu Xiangxiang Li Maosen Wang Yueying Li | 2020 | Computers, Materials & Continua2020,,12: | 1 |
| 20 | A dual-regulation strategy of B/N codoped CNT-encapsulated Ni nanoparticles as a catalytic host and separator coating promises high-performance Li-S batteries显示文摘A dual-regulation strategy of adopting B/N codoped carbon nanotube-encapsulated nickel nanoparticles(Ni@BNCNT) as a sulfur host and separator coating is proposed for high-performance Li-S batteries. On the cathode side, the 3D conductive network structure of Ni@BNCNT is favorable for high sulfur utilization, and the collaboration between polar metal Ni nanoparticles(NPs) and doped B/N elements facilitates the chemical adsorption of Li polysulfides(Li PSs). In addition, these metal Ni NPs exhibit a satisfactory catalytic effect on the polysulfide conversion. Moreover, using the Ni@BNCNT interlayer can further capture the soluble Li PSs, make them convert quickly, and prevent them from diffusing toward the anode side. The Li-S batteries simultaneously equipped with a S/Ni@BNCNT cathode and Ni@BNCNT interlayer show high reversible capacity and good cycle stability. Additionally, even at a sulfur loading of 3.5 mg cm;and an electrolyte/sulfur ratio of 3 μL mg;, excellent battery performance can be achieved.
