| 1 | NIR-II ?uorescence in vivo confocal microscopy with aggregation-induced emission dots显示文摘Significantly reduced tissue scattering of fluorescence signals in the second near-infrared(NIR-Ⅱ,1,000–1,700 nm)spectral region offers opportunities for large-depth in vivo bioimaging.Nowadays,most reported works concerning NIR-II fluorescence in vivo bioimaging are realized by wide-field illumination and 2D-arrayed detection(e.g.,via InGaAs camera),which has high temporal resolution but limited spatial resolution due to out-of-focus signals.Combining NIR-II fluorescence imaging with confocal microscopy is a good approach to achieve high-spatial resolution visualization of biosamples even at deep tissues.In this presented work,a NIR-II fluorescence confocal microscopic system was setup.By using a kind of aggregation-induced emission(AIE)dots as NIR-II fluorescent probes,800 lm-deep 3D in vivo cerebrovascular imaging of a mouse was obtained,and the spatial resolution at 700 lm depth could reach 8.78 lm.Moreover,the time-correlated single photon counting(TCSPC)technique and femtosecond laser excitation were introduced into NIR-II fluorescence confocal microscopy,and in vivo confocal NIR-II fluorescence lifetime microscopic imaging(FLIM)of mouse cerebral vasculature was successfully realized. | Wenbin Yu Bing Guo Hequn Zhang Jing Zhou Xiaoming Yu Liang Zhu Dingwei Xue Wen Liu Xianhe Sun Jun Qian | 2019 | Science Bulletin2019,64,6: | 10 |

| 5 | N-polar InGaN nanowires: breaking the efficiency bottleneck of nano and micro LEDs显示文摘The efficiency of conventional quantum well light-emitting diodes(LEDs) decreases drastically with reducing areal size. Here we show that such a critical size scaling issue of LEDs can be addressed by utilizing N-polar In Ga N nanowires. We studied the epitaxy and performance characteristics of N-polar In Ga N nanowire LEDs grown on sapphire substrate by plasma-assisted molecular beam epitaxy. A maximum external quantum efficiency-11% was measured for LEDs with lateral dimensions as small as 750 nm directly on wafer without any packaging. The effect of electron overflow and Auger recombination on the device performance is also studied. | 6 | Optimization of solvent swelling for efficient organic solar cells via sequential deposition显示文摘Compared to bulk heterojunction(BHJ)organic solar cells(OSCs)prepared by the blend casting in“one step process”,sequential deposition(SD)processed OSCs can realize an ideal profile of vertical component distribution due to the swelling of polymer films.Herein,we did trials on several kinds of second solvents for swelling the polymer layer,and investigated the packing structure and morphology of the swollen films and the performance of the resulting devices.We found that an optimized morphology can be achieved by solvent swelling while using orthodichlorobenzene(o-DCB)as the second layer processing-solvent,with polymer donor PffBT-3 as bottom layer,PC71BM as top layer and bicontinuous networks in the middle.Such solvent swelling process also makes the SD method exempt from thermal annealing treatment.The device based on SD yields a power conversion effi-ciency(PCE)up to 8.7%without any post-treatment,outperforming those from the devices based on SD using other solvents and that(7.06%)from BHJ device,respectively.We also extended the use of this approach to allpolymer blend system,and successfully improved the efficiency from 4.72%(chloroform)to 9.35%(o-DCB),which is among the highest PCEs in all-polymer-based OSCs fabricated with SD method.The results demonstrate that the swelling of the polymer by the second layer solvent is a necessity for SD,paving the way towards additivefree high-performance OSCs. | Qiaogan Liao Bangbang Li Huiliang Sun Chang Woo Koh Xianhe Zhang Bin Liu Han Young Woo Xugang Guo | 2021 | Materials Reports(Energy)2021,1,4: | 1 |
| 7 | Investigation for Natural Convection Heat Transfer of Sucrose Solution Using a Converging and Diverging Tube with Regularly——spaced Twisted Tapes显示文摘The natural convection heat transfer of a 60% sucrose solution in a vertical converging-diverging tube(CD) with regularly-spaced twisted tapes(RSTT) has been investigated numerically and experimentally. The effects of wall temperature and number of RSTT on the Nusselt number were studied in detail. The distributions of velocity and temperature in the 60% sucrose solution were studied and the simulated results of CD with RSTT were compared with those of the smooth tube. The influence of Rayleigh number and RSTT on the Nusselt number was conducted experimentally. The results indicate that the Nusselt number of the 60% sucrose solution obviously increased with the number of RSTT but increased inconspicuously with 2 and more twisted tapes. The simulation shows that the distance for achieving an optimal heat transfer performance is 46 times the diameter of the tube. | 12 | Progress in clinical research on the integration of Chinese and Western medicines for treating primary liver cancer显示文摘Primary liver cancer(PLC) is one of the most common malignant tumors in China. PLC is characterized by insidious onset, rapid progress, poor quality of life, and short survival time. Notably, current treatment strategies remain unsatisfactory. Traditional Chinese medicines(TCM) have been used to treat a variety of diseases, including liver diseases, for more than 2000 years. In this study, we performed a review of the use frequency and clinical efficacy of TCM in treating PLC. Relevant literature from January 1, 2009, to January 1, 2021 was retrieved from network databases of China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI), Chongqing VIP, Wanfang, PubMed, and SinoMed. The most frequently used TCM and their efficacy in PLC treatment were summarized. Based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 33 articles were selected. Overall, the efficacy of the combination of TCM and Western medicines in the treatment of PLC was higher than that in the control groups(i.e. treatment with Western medicines alone)(65.11% vs.44.31%, P <.05). Among the 33 selected articles, 11 were investigated for TCM preparation(marketed drugs) and 22 for TCM formulas. In total, 102 types of TCM(single herbs) were used to treat PLC. The top five most frequently used TCM were Poria(14.71%), Astragali radix(13.73%), Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma(12.75%), Bupleuri radix(12.75%), and Glycyrrhizae radix et Rhizoma(11.76%). Of the 102 types of TCM, tonics were the most frequently used categories, followed by heat-clearing medicines, blood-invigorating medicines, and stasis-resolving medicines. Of 207 papers, 174(84.06%) could not be subjected to statistical analysis due to research quality. Further high-quality research on herb sources, formula components and dosage, toxicology, and ethics of TCM is necessary.
