1A New Species of the Genus Tylototriton(Amphibia: Urodela: Salamandridae) from the Southern Dabie Mountains in Anhui Province显示文摘A new species of the genus Tylototriton is described,from Yuexi county,Anhui province,in the south of the Dabie Mountains.It is based on morphological and molecular analysis.The new species is identified as belonging to the Tylototriton asperrimus group and shares a number of similarities with T.wenxianensis,T.broadoridgus and T.dabienicus.The diagnostic characteristics of the new species are as follows: the head length is greater than the width of the head; bony ridges on the head are prominent and necked-in; the distal digit ends,ventral digits,peripheral area of the cloaca and the tail's lower edge are orange.The result from the molecular analysis of the genus Tylototriton(including the type specimen of the new species) based on three mitochondrial genes(ND1,ND2 and CYTB) indicated that the new species was close to T.wenxianensis,T.dabienicus,and T.broadoridgus,but formed an independent clade.This result was consistent with the morphological analysis above,which supports the theory that the population distributed in the south of the Dabie Mountains,namely in from Yuexi county,Anhui province,represented a distinct species,Tylototriton anhuiensis sp.nov.Lifu QIAN Xiaonan SUN Jiaqi LI Weibo GUO Tao PAN Xing KANG Hui WANG Jianping JIANG Jun WU Baowei ZHANG 2017Asian Herpetological Research2017,18,3:6
2A New Species of the Genus Rhacophorus (Anura: Rhacophoridae) from Dabie Mountains in East China显示文摘A new species of rhacophorid of the genus Rhacophorus is described from the Dabie Mountains of west Anhui,east China.The new species,Rhacophorus zhoukaiyae sp.nov.is distinguished from its congeners by a combination of the following characters: 1) the ventral surface and front-and-rear of the femur is paler yellowish and decorated with irregular grayish blotching,and without obvious spots on the dorsum of the hand and foot webbing; 2) the outer metatarsal tubercle is small; 3) outer fingers are half-webbed and outer toes two third webbed; 4) the skin on the dorsum is smooth and without compressed warts; 5) the throat,chest and belly are pure paler yellowish; 6) the dorsal part of the fingers and toes are grayish-white; 7) the iris is golden-yellow.In addition,the phylogenetic tree showed that all the individuals of R.zhoukaiyae sp.nov.clustered into one distinct clade which suggested the validity of this species.This results could also be used to the support of species delimitation.Currently,this species is known only from mid-elevation montane evergreen forest in the Dabie Mountains of west Anhui,China.Tao PAN Yanan ZHANG Hui WANG Jun WU Xing KANG Lifu QIAN Kai LI Yu ZHANG Jinyun CHEN Dingqi RAO Jianping JIANG Baowei ZHANG 2017Asian Herpetological Research2017,18,1:5
3Evaluation of Spectral Scale Effects in Estimation of Vegetation Leaf Area Index Using Spectral Indices Methods显示文摘Spectral index methodology has been widely used in Leaf Area Index(LAI) retrieval at different spatial scales. There are differences in the spectral response of different remote sensors and thus spectral scale effect generated during the use of spectral indices to retrieve LAI. In this study, PROSPECT, leaf optical properties model and Scattering by Arbitrarily Inclined Layers(SAIL) model, were used to simulate canopy spectral reflectance with a bandwidth of 5 nm and a Gaussian spectral response function was employed to simulate the spectral data at six bandwidths ranging from 10 to 35 nm. Additionally, for bandwidths from 5 to 35 nm, the correlation between the spectral index and LAI, and the sensitivities of the spectral index to changes in LAI and bandwidth were analyzed. Finally, the reflectance data at six bandwidths ranging from 40 to 65 nm were used to verify the spectral scale effect generated during the use of the spectral index to retrieve LAI. Results indicate that Vegetation Index of the Universal Pattern Decomposition(VIUPD) had the highest accuracy during LAI retrieval. Followed by Normalized Difference Vegetation Index(NDVI), Modified Simple Ratio Indices(MSRI) and Triangle Vegetation Index(TVI), although the coefficient of determination R^2 was higher than 0.96, the retrieved LAI values were less than the actual value and thus lacked validity. Other spectral indices were significantly affected by the spectral scale effect with poor retrieval results. In this study, VIUPD, which exhibited a relatively good correlation and sensitivity to LAI, was less affected by the spectral scale effect and had a relatively good retrieval capability. 4Effectiveness and safety of Chinese herbal medicines for hepatitis B virus-related acute-on-chronic liver failure:study protocol for a multicenter randomized controlled trial显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To conduct a multicenter randomized controlled trial of the efficacy of standardized Chinese herbal medicines(CHMs)against acuteon-chronic liver failure(ACLF)and provide reproducible and high-level evidence for clinical practice.METHODS:This is a prospective,multicenter,centrally randomized controlled trial.Patients diagnosed with hepatitis B virus-related ACLF(n=510)will be allocated to the standard medical therapy or CHM group at a 1∶1 ratio.Two CHMs will be used on the basis of the traditional Chinese medicine syndrome:Liangxue Jiedu granules for excess syndromes and Yiqi Jiedu granules for deficiency syndromes.The primary outcome is transplant-free survival at week 12.The secondary outcomes are(a)transplant-free survival at week 24,(b)liver function as assessed using the model for end-stage liver disease score at week 12,(c)liver function as assessed using the Child-Pugh score at week 12,and(d)the incidence of complications at week 12.DISCUSSION:The effectiveness and safety of CHM formulations will be assessed following treatment for ACLF.TRIAL REGISTRATION:The trial was registered at Clinical Trials.gov(NCT03577938)on June 24,2018.Zhang Ning Zhou Chao Wang Lifu He Tingting Wang Yao Wang Yan Bai Yunfeng Li Jun Xiao Xiaohe Gong Man 2020Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2020,40,6:5
5Numerical and Experimental Study on Aerodynamic Performance of Small Axial Flow Fan with Splitter Blades显示文摘To improve the aerodynamic performance of small axial flow fan, in this paper the design of a small axial flow fan with splitter blades is studied. The RNG k-ε turbulence model and SIMPLE algorithm were applied to the steady simulation calculation of the flow field, and its result was used as the initial field of the large eddy simulation to calculate the unsteady pressure field. The FW-H noise model was adopted to predict aerodynamic noise in the six monitoring points. Fast Fourier transform algorithm was applied to process the pressure signal. Experiment of noise testing was done to further investigate the aerodynamic noise of fans. And then the results obtained from the numerical simulation and experiment were described and analyzed. The results show that the static characteristics of small axial fan with splitter blades are similar with the prototype fan, and the static characteristics are improved within a certain range of flux. The power spectral density at the six monitoring points of small axial flow fan with splitter blades have decreased to some extent. The experimental results show sound pressure level of new fan has reduced in most frequency bands by comparing with prototype fan. 6An artificial chromosome for data storage显示文摘DNA digital storage provides an alternative for information storage with high density and long-term stability.Here,we report the de novo design and synthesis of an artificial chromosome that encodes two pictures and a video clip.The encoding paradigm utilizing the superposition of sparsified error correction codewords and pseudo-random sequences tolerates base insertions/deletions and is well suited to error-prone nanopore sequencing for data retrieval.The entire 254 kb sequence was 95.27%occupied by encoded data.The Transformation-Associated Recombination method was used in the construction of this chromosome from DNA fragments and necessary autonomous replication sequences.The stability was demonstrated by transmitting the data-carrying chromosome to the 100 th generation.This study demonstrates a data storage method using encoded artificial chromosomes via in vivo assembly for write-once and stable replication for multiple retrievals,similar to a compact disc,with potential in economically massive data distribution.Weigang Chen Mingzhe Han Jianting Zhou Qi Ge Panpan Wang Xinchen Zhang Siyu Zhu Lifu Song Yingjin Yuan 2021National Science Review2021,8,5:3
7Clinical characteristics of 96 patients with drug-induced acute liver failure:a comparison between Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To compare the causes, clinical symptoms, laboratory test results, and prognosis in patients with acute liver failure(ALF) induced by traditional Chinese medicines(TCM) and by Western Medicines(WM).METHODS: The medical histories of patients who were diagnosed with drug-induced ALF(DALF)(n =96) after hospitalization in the 302 Military Hospital between January 2010 and December 2015 were retrospectively examined.RESULTS: Fifty-eight of the 96 DALF patients(60.4%) had a hepatocellular pattern of DALF, 16 patients(16.7%) had a cholestatic pattern, and 22 patients(22.9%) had a mixed pattern. DALF resolved in 24 patients(25.0%). Twenty-five patients(26.0%)developed chronic liver injury, 43 patients(44.8%)died, and 4 patients(4.2%) underwent liver transplantation. There were 42 ALF patients(43.8%) who received WM, and 32 ALF patients(33.3%) who received TCM. TCM-induced ALF patients had a higher average age [42.4 ± 18.4) vs(33.5 ± 17.9) years,P = 0.04] and higher creatinine and urine nitrogen levels [(155.2 ± 108.8) vs(97.5 ± 130.4) mmol/L, P =0.047;(9.1 ± 7.7) vs(4.3 ± 5.0) mmol/L, P = 0.002, respectively]. Patients with TCM-induced ALF exhibited an increased risk of renal injury [odds ratio(OR),3.75; 95% confidence interval(CI), 1.330-10.577].The 14 patients with TCM-induced ALF who died exhibited higher creatinine levels than the 18 patients with TCM-induced ALF patients who survived[(218.7 ± 111.6) vs(105.8 ± 78.4) mmol/L, P =0.002]. 8Mapping Microscale Strain Fields Around a Crack Tip in Molybdenum Via Geometric Phase Analysis and Digital Image Correlation显示文摘Uniaxial tension tests were conducted on single-edge-notched tensile specimens of pure molybdenum with a mesh grid pattern in front of the notch. A series of images of crack initialization and propagation with a distorted mesh grid pattern were obtained by means of in situ scanning electron microscopy. Strain fields around the crack tip were mapped successively using geometric phase analysis and digital image correlation techniques, and then compared with the predictions obtained through linear elastic fracture mechanics(LEFM). 9Genome-wide Identification and Analysis of MVD Gene Family in Euphorbiaceae Plants显示文摘The mevalonate diphosphate decarboxylase(MVD)is an essential enzyme in mevalonate(MVA)pathway that catalyzes the irreversible Mg2+-ATP dependent decarboxylation of 6-carbon compound mevalonate-5-diphosphate(MVAPP)into 5-carbon isopentenyl diphosphate(IPP),the building block of sterol and isoprenoid biosynthesis.In this study,based on the published genome sequences and ESTs,a genome-wide search was carried out for the first time to identify MVD gene family in four genome-sequenced Euphorbiaceae plants,i.e.castor bean(Ricinus communis),physic nut(Jatropha curcas),cassava(Manihot esculenta)and rubber tree(Hevea brasiliensis),and to analyze the gene structure and phylogenetic characteristics.According to the experimental results,1,1,2 and 2 MVD genes,which all contain 9 introns,were identified from castor bean,physic nut,cassava and rubber tree,respectively.Homology analysis indicates that MVD genes are widely distributed in eukaryotes,some archaea and eubacteria,which suggests an early origin of this gene family.Although MVD genes were identified in most green plants,no homologous genes were found in unicellular green algae.In most genome-sequenced plants including castor bean and physic nut,a single copy of MVD gene was found;however,in cassava and rubber tree,two copies were identified just like that in moss,maize,Arabidopsis and poplar.In castor bean,digital expression profiling suggests that in five examined tissues,i.e.leaf,flower,II/III stage endosperm,V/VI stage endosperm and seed,RcPMK was expressed strongly in flower and II/III stage endosperm,moderately in V/VI stage endosperm and leaf,and weakly in seed.Zhi ZOU Lifu YANG Feng AN Zhenhui WANG Kun YUAN 2013Agricultural Biotechnology2013,2,6:2

11The impact of climate change on fire risk in Daxing'anling,China显示文摘Daxing'anling is a key region for forest fire prevention in China.Assessing changes in fire risk in the future under multiple climatic scenarios will contribute to our understanding of the influences of climate change for the region and provide a reference for applying adaptive measures for fire management.This study analyzed the changes in fire weather indices and the fire season under four climate scenarios(RCP2.6,RCP4.5,RCP6.0,RCP8.5)for 2021–2050 using data from five global climate models together with observation data.The results showed that the analog data could project the average state of the climate for a given period but were not effective for simulating extreme weather conditions.Compared with the baseline period(1971–2000),the period 2021–2050 was predicted to have an increase in average temperature of 2.02–2.65 °C and in annual precipitation 25.4–40.3 mm,while the fire weather index(FWI) was predicted to increase by6.2–11.2% and seasonal severity rating(SSR) by5.5–17.2%.The DMC(Duff moisture code),ISI(initial spread index),BUI(build-up index),FWI and SSR were predicted to increase significantly under scenarios RCP4.5,RCP6.0,and RCP8.5.Furthermore,days with high or higher fire danger rating were predicted to be prolonged by 3–6 days,with the change in the southern region being greater under scenarios RCP4.5,RCP6.0,and RCP8.5.Xiaorui Tian Lifu Shu Mingyu Wang Fengjun Zhao 2017Journal of Forestry Research2017,28,5:2
12Salt stress-induced changes in soil metabolites promote cadmium transport into wheat tissues显示文摘Soil salinity is known to improve cadmium(Cd)mobility,especially in arid soils.However,the mechanisms involved in how salt stress-associated metabolic profiles participate in mediating Cd transport in the soil-plant system remain poorly understood.This study was designed to investigate the effects of salinity-induced changes in soil metabolites on Cd bioavailability.Sodium salts in different combinations according to molar ratio(NaCl:Na_(2)SO_(4)=1:1;NaCl:Na_(2)SO_(4):NaHCO_(3)=1:2:1;NaCl:Na_(2)SO_(4):NaHCO_(3):Na_(2)CO_(3)=1:9:9:1;NaCl:Na_(2)SO_(4):NaHCO_(3):Na_(2)CO_(3)=1:1:1:1)were applied to the Cd-contaminated soils,which increased soil Cd availability by 22.36%and the Cd content in wheat grains by 36.61%,compared to the control.Salt stress resulted in soil metabolic reprogramming,which might explain the decreased growth of wheat plants and increased Cd transport from the soil into wheat tissues.For example,down-regulation of starch and sucrose metabolism reduced the production of sugars,which adversely affected growth;up-regulation of fatty acid metabolism allowed wheat plants to maintain a normal intracellular environment under saline conditions;up-regulation of the tricarboxylic acid(TCA)cycle was triggered,causing an increase in organic acid synthesis and the accumulation of organic acids,which facilitated the migration of soil Cd into wheat tissues.In summary,salt stress can facilitate Cd transport into wheat tissues by the direct effect of salt-based ions and the combined effect of altered soil physicochemical properties and soil metabolic profiles in Cd-contaminated soils.Lifu Wang Luyao Qin Xiaoyi Sun Shuwen Zhao Lei Yu Shibao Chen Meng Wang 2023Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,5:1

15Supercritical extracts of forest fuels in Great Xing'an Mountains显示文摘Extracts are important components of fuels.Fatty-extracts with high heating value(HV) are hypothesized by researchers as positively related to the HV of fuels.The Soxhlet extractor is typically used to extract fatty-extracts but it has shortcomings,including long processing time(8–10 h) and the requirement for large amounts of organic solvent.Supercritical extraction is an alternate and useful technique for extraction of natural products.However,published studies rarely discuss the relationship between extracts and HV.In this study,we assessed the supercritical extracts(Su E) of forest fuels in the Great Xing'an Mountains.Our results indicated that the optimum conditions for extraction of Su Es were40–60 mesh,40–50 MPa,45 °C,80 min and a CO_2 flow rate of 1.5–2.0 dm^3/min.The Soxhlet extracts contents and the Su E contents were all related to HV.However,R^2 of the coniferous samples(0.8499) and needle samples(0.9722) demonstrated that the correlation between HV and the Su E content was closer.We conclude that supercritical fatty-extracts provide a useful index of the HV of fuels,especially coniferous fuels.Su E data can be used in fire management,for example to estimate the rate of fire spread or fire intensity.Fengjun Zhao Mingyu Wang Lifu Shu Xiaorui Tian Kezhen Liu 2016Journal of Forestry Research2016,27,5:1
