1Erianin,a novel dibenzyl compound in Dendrobium extract,inhibits lung cancer cell growth and migration via calcium/calmodulin-dependent ferroptosis显示文摘Ferroptosis,a novel form of programmed cell death,is characterized by iron-dependent lipid peroxidation and has been shown to be involved in multiple diseases,including cancer.Stimulating ferroptosis in cancer cells may be a potential strategy for cancer therapy.Therefore,ferroptosis-inducing drugs are attracting more attention for cancer treatment.Here,we showed that erianin,a natural product isolated from Dendrobium chrysotoxum Lindl,exerted its anticancer activity by inducing cell death and inhibiting cell migration in lung cancer cells.Subsequently,we demonstrated for the first time that erianin induced ferroptotic cell death in lung cancer cells,which was accompanied by ROS accumulation,lipid peroxidation,and GSH depletion.The ferroptosis inhibitors Fer-1 and Lip-1 but not Z-VAD-FMK,CQ,or necrostatin-1 rescued erianin-induced cell death,indicating that ferroptosis contributed to erianin-induced cell death.Furthermore,we demonstrated that Ca^(2+)/CaM signaling was a critical mediator of erianin-induced ferroptosis and that blockade of this signaling significantly rescued cell death induced by erianin treatment by suppressing ferroptosis.Taken together,our data suggest that the natural product erianin exerts its anticancer effects by inducing Ca^(2+)/CaMdependent ferroptosis and inhibiting cell migration,and erianin will hopefully serve as a prospective compound for lung cancer treatment.Peng Chen Qibiao Wu Jiao Feng Lili Yan Yitian Sun Shuiping Liu Yu Xiang Mingming Zhang Ting Pan Xiaying Chen Ting Duan Lijuan Zhai Bingtao Zhai Wengang Wang Ruonan Zhang Bi Chen Xuemeng Han Yicong Li Liuxi Chen Ying Liu Xingxing Huang Ting Jin Wenzheng Zhang Hong Luo Xiaohui Chen Yongqiang Li Qiujie Li Guohua Li Qin Zhang Lvjia Zhuo Zuyi Yang Huifen Tang Tian Xie Xiaoping Ouyang Xinbing Sui 2020Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2020,5,1:42
2Cell–cell contact with proinflammatory macrophages enhances the immunotherapeutic effect of mesenchymal stem cells in two abortion models显示文摘Mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs),which are pluripotent cells with immunomodulatory properties,have been considered good candidates for the therapy of several immune disorders,such as inflammatory bowel diseases,concanavalin A-induced liver injury,and graft-versus-host disease.The embryo is a natural allograft to the maternal immune system.A successful pregnancy depends on the timely extinction of the inflammatory response induced by embryo implantation,followed by the switch to a tolerant immune microenvironment in both the uterus and the system.Excessive infiltration of immune cells and serious inflammatory responses are triggers for embryo rejection,which results in miscarriage.Here,we demonstrated that adoptive transfer of MSCs could prevent fetal loss in a lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced abortion model and immune response-mediated spontaneous abortion model.The immunosuppressive MSCs alleviated excessive inflammation by inhibiting CD4+T cell proliferation and promoting the decidual macrophage switch to M2 in a tumor necrosis factor-stimulated gene-6(TSG-6)-dependent manner.Cell-tocell contact with proinflammatory macrophages increased the TSG-6 production by the MSCs,thereby enhancing the suppressive regulation of T cells and macrophages.Moreover,proinflammatory macrophages in contact with the MSCs upregulated the expression of CD200 on the stem cells and facilitated the reprogramming of macrophages towards an anti-inflammatory skew through the interaction of CD200 with CD200R on proinflammatory macrophages.Therefore,the results demonstrate that a TSG-6-mediated paracrine effect,reinforced by cell-to-cell contact between MSCs and proinflammatory macrophages,is involved in the mechanism of MSC-mediated abortion relief through the induction of immune tolerance.Our study also indicates the potential application of MSCs in clinical recurrent miscarriages.Yanhong Li Di Zhang Ling Xu Lin Dong Ji Zheng Yikong Lin Jiefang Huang Yanyun Zhang Yu Tao Xingxing Zang Dajin Li Meirong Du 2019Cellular & Molecular Immunology2019,16,12:23

6Early Paleozoic granulite-facies metamorphism and anatexis in the northern West Qinling orogen: Monazite and zircon U-Pb geochronological constraints显示文摘In the northern West Qinling orogen(WQO), granulite-facies metamorphic rocks are recognized within the Qinling Complex. These rocks are composed of amphibole-bearing two-pyroxene granulite and garnet-sillimanite gneiss with widespread migmatitization. We investigate three granulite-facies samples and one leucosome sample from the Qinling Complex, which are suitable for U-Pb analyses of zircon and monazite. SHRIMP and LA-ICPMS U-Pb age dating of zircon and monazite from two pelitic granulites provides weighted mean ages of 430±4 Ma(MSWD=0.88) and 433±4 Ma(MSWD=0.27), respectively.Based on the petrographic characteristics and zircon CL imagery, we postulated a ca. 430 Ma metamorphic timing for the pelitic granulites. LA-ICPMS zircon U-Pb data from an amphibole two-pyroxene granulite sample reports two weighted mean age groups:424±3 Ma(MSWD=0.45) and 402±3 Ma(MSWD=1.4), which were interpreted as granulite-facies metamorphic and retrograde ages, respectively. LA-ICPMS U-Pb dating of zircons from the leucosome sample yields a weighted mean age of 426±2 Ma(MSWD=0.3), which is interpreted as the crystallization age of the leucosome. These data indicate that the West QOB experienced early Paleozoic granulite-facies metamorphism and anatexis similar to the East QOB. 8First-principles design of spintronics materials显示文摘Spintronics is one of the most promising next generation information technology, which uses the spins of electrons as information carriers and possesses potential advantages of speeding up data processing, high circuit integration density, and low energy consumption. However, spintronics faces a number of challenges, including spin generation and injection, long distance spin transport, and manipulation and detection of spin orientation. In solving these issues, new concepts and spintronics materials were proposed one after another, such as half metals, spin gapless semiconductors, and bipolar magnetic semiconductors.Topological insulators can also be viewed as a special class of spintronics materials, with their surface states used for pure spin generation and transportation. In designing these spintronics materials, first-principles calculations play a very important role. This article attempts to give a brief review of the basic principles and theoretical design of these materials. 9Semi-tightly coupled integration of multi-GNSS PPP and S-VINS for precise positioning in GNSS-challenged environments显示文摘Because of its high-precision,low-cost and easy-operation,Precise Point Positioning(PPP)becomes a potential and attractive positioning technique that can be applied to self-driving cars and drones.However,the reliability and availability of PPP will be significantly degraded in the extremely difficult conditions where Global Navigation Satellite System(GNSS)signals are blocked frequently.Inertial Navigation System(INS)has been integrated with GNSS to ameliorate such situations in the last decades.Recently,the Visual-Inertial Navigation Systems(VINS)with favorable complementary characteristics is demonstrated to realize a more stable and accurate local position estimation than the INS-only.Nevertheless,the system still must rely on the global positions to eliminate the accumulated errors.In this contribution,we present a semi-tight coupling framework of multi-GNSS PPP and Stereo VINS(S-VINS),which achieves the bidirectional location transfer and sharing in two separate navigation systems.In our approach,the local positions,produced by S-VINS are integrated with multi-GNSS PPP through a graph-optimization based method.Furthermore,the accurate forecast positions with S-VINS are fed back to assist PPP in GNSS-challenged environments.The statistical analysis of a GNSS outage simulation test shows that the S-VINS mode can effectively suppress the degradation of positioning accuracy compared with the INS-only mode.We also carried out a vehicle-borne experiment collecting multi-sensor data in a GNSS-challenged environment.For the complex driving environment,the PPP positioning capability is significantly improved with the aiding of S-VINS.The 3D positioning accuracy is improved by 49.0%for Global Positioning System(GPS),40.3%for GPS+GLOANSS(Global Navigation Satellite System),45.6%for GPS+BDS(BeiDou navigation satellite System),and 51.2%for GPS+GLONASS+BDS.On this basis,the solution with the semi-tight coupling scheme of multi-GNSS PPP/S-VINS achieves the improvements of 41.8-60.6%in 3D position-ing accuracy compared with the multi-GNSS PPP/INS solutions.Xingxing Li Xuanbin Wang Jianchi Liao Xin Li Shengyu Li Hongbo Lyu 2021Satellite Navigation2021,2,1:10
10Changes in palaeoproductivity of Genggahai Lake over the past 16 ka in the Gonghe Basin,northeastern Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau显示文摘Sequential samples of a 7.82-m sediment core from Genggahai Lake in the central Gonghe Basin,controlled with 12 accelerator mass spectrometry (AMS) 14 C dates,have been analysed for total organic carbon (TOC) and total nitrogen (TN) contents,carbon isotope of bulk organic matter (δ 13 C org),and carbonate content.Plant macrofossils and stem encrustations,derived mainly from the species of P.pectinatus,M.spicatum and Chara spp.,were identified,and they dominated the aquatic plant community of the lake.Alternations of plant macrofossils of Chara spp.and the vascular species reflect the changing productivity of the lake over time.In such a shallow lake,the carbonate content is highly related to photosynthesis of aquatic macrophytes and thus indirectly indicates variations in productivity,consistent with a quantitative estimate of palaeoproductivity.Based on these results,the palaeoproductivity history was reconstructed over the past ca.16 ka.The lake was formed or recharged at 15.3 cal ka BP,as indicated by aeolian sand deposits at the core base.A marked increase in palaeoproductivity occurred from 15.3 to 11.6 cal ka BP.Between 11.6 and 9.2 cal ka BP,a sharply increased water-level,modulated probably by the enhanced Asian summer monsoon,might have exceeded the optimum water depth for macrophyte vegetation,causing a marked decline in coverage of aquatic macrophytes and low palaeoproductivity.The palaeoproductivity appeared to be high in the early stage of the period from 9.2 to 7.4 cal ka BP,and then decreased at approximately 8.6 cal ka BP.The palaeoproductivity sustained an overall high level between 7.4 and 2.1 cal ka BP,and decreased gradually since 2.1 cal ka BP.Our results suggest that the variability of Genggahai Lake palaeoproductivity may be associated with fluctuations of the lake level controlled by the strength of the Asian summer monsoon,probably indicating changes in the Asian summer monsoon.SONG Lei QIANG MingRui LANG LiLi LIU XingXing WANG Qin LI MingZhi 2012Chinese Science Bulletin2012,57,20:9
11Diclofop-methyl affects microbial rhizosphere community and induces systemic acquired resistance in rice显示文摘Diclofop-methyl(DM),a widely used herbicide in food crops,may partly contaminate the soil surface of natural ecosystems in agricultural area and exert toxic effects at low dose to nontarget plants.Even though rhizosphere microorganisms strongly interact with root cells,little is known regarding their potential modulating effect on herbicide toxicity in plants.Here we exposed rice seedlings(Xiushui 63) to 100 μg/L DM for 2 to 8 days and studied the effects of DM on rice rhizosphere microorganisms,rice systemic acquired resistance(SAR) and rice-microorganisms interactions.The results of metagenomic 16 S rDNA Illumina tags show that DM increases bacterial biomass and affects their community structure in the rice rhizosphere.After DM treatment,the relative abundance of the bacterium genera Massilia and Anderseniella increased the most relative to the control.In parallel,malate and oxalate exudation by rice roots increased,potentially acting as a carbon source for several rhizosphere bacteria.Transcriptomic analyses suggest that DM induced SAR in rice seedlings through the salicylic acid(but not the jasmonic acid) signal pathway.This response to DM stress conferred resistance to infection by a pathogenic bacterium,but was not influenced by the presence of bacteria in the rhizosphere since SAR transcripts did not change significantly in xenic and axenic plant roots exposed to DM.The present study provides new insights on the response of rice and its associated microorganisms to DM stress.Si Chen Xingxing Li Michel Lavoie Yujian Jin Jiahui Xu Zhengwei Fu Haifeng Qian 2017Journal of Environmental Sciences2017,29,1:8
12Ship detection and classification from optical remote sensing images: A survey显示文摘Considering the important applications in the military and the civilian domain, ship detection and classification based on optical remote sensing images raise considerable attention in the sea surface remote sensing filed. This article collects the methods of ship detection and classification for practically testing in optical remote sensing images, and provides their corresponding feature extraction strategies and statistical data. Basic feature extraction strategies and algorithms are analyzed associated with their performance and application in ship detection and classification.Furthermore, publicly available datasets that can be applied as the benchmarks to verify the effectiveness and the objectiveness of ship detection and classification methods are summarized in this paper. 14Preparation, characterization, pharmacokinetics and anticancer effects of PEGylated β-elemene liposomes显示文摘Objective:This study aimed to develop a new polyethylene glycol(PEG)ylatedβ-elemene liposome(PEG-Lipo-β-E)and evaluate its characterization,pharmacokinetics,antitumor effects and safety in vitro and in vivo.Methods:The liposomes were prepared by ethanol injection and high-pressure micro-jet homogenization.Characterization of the liposomes was conducted,and drug content,entrapment efficiency(EE),in vitro release and stability were studied by ultra-fast liquid chromatography(UFLC)and a liquid surface method.Blood was drawn from rats to establish the pharmacokinetic parameters.The anticancer effect was evaluated in a KU-19-19 bladder cancer xenograft model.Histological analyses were performed to evaluate safety.Results:The PEG-Lipo-β-E showed good stability and was characterized as 83.31±0.181 nm in size,0.279±0.004 in polydispersity index(PDI),-21.4±1.06 mV in zeta potential,6.65±0.02 in pH,5.024±0.107 mg/mL inβ-elemene(β-E)content,and 95.53±1.712%in average EE.The Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR)and differential scanning calorimetry(DSC)indicated the formation of PEG-Lipo-β-E.Compared to elemene injection,PEG-Lipo-β-E demonstrated a 1.75-fold decrease in clearance,a 1.62-fold increase in half-life,and a 1.76-fold increase in area under the concentration-time curves(AUCs)from 0 hour to 1.5 hours(P<0.05).PEG-Lipo-β-E also showed an enhanced anticancer effect in vivo.Histological analyses showed that there was no evidence of toxicity to the heart,kidney,liver,lung or spleen.Conclusions:The present study demonstrates PEG-Lipo-β-E as a new formulation with ease of preparation,high EE,good stability,improved bioavailability and antitumor effects.Bingtao Zhai Qibiao Wu Wengang Wang Mingming Zhang Xuemeng Han Qiujie Li Peng Chen Xiaying Chen Xingxing Huang Guohua Li Qin Zhang Ruonan Zhang Yu Xiang Shuiping Liu Ting Duan Jianshu Lou Tian Xie Xinbing Sui 2020Cancer Biology & Medicine2020,17,1:6
15An ATF24 peptide-functionalized β-elemene-nanostructured lipid carrier combined with cisplatin for bladder cancer treatment显示文摘Objective:In this study,we aimed to develop an amino-terminal fragment(ATF)peptide-targeted liposome carryingβ-elemene(ATF24-PEG-Lipo-β-E)for targeted delivery into urokinase plasminogen activator receptor-overexpressing bladder cancer cells combined with cisplatin(DDP)for bladder cancer treatment.Methods:The liposomes were prepared by ethanol injection and high-pressure microjet homogenization.The liposomes were characterized,and the drug content,entrapment efficiency,andin vitro release were studied.The targeting efficiency was investigated using confocal microscopy,ultra-fast liquid chromatography,and an orthotopic bladder cancer model.The effects of ATF24-PEG-Lipo-β-E combined with DDP on cell viability and proliferation were evaluated by a Cell Counting Kit-8(CCK-8)assay,a colony formation assay,and cell apoptosis and cell cycle analyses.The anticancer effects were evaluated in a KU-19-19 bladder cancer xenograft model.Results:ATF24-PEG-Lipo-β-E had small and uniform sizes(~79 nm),high drug loading capacity(~5.24 mg/mL),high entrapment efficiency(98.37±0.95%),and exhibited sustained drug release behavior.ATF24-PEG-Lipo-β-E had better targeting efficiency and higher cytotoxicity than polyethylene glycol(PEG)ylatedβ-elemene liposomes(PEG-Lipo-β-E).DDP,combined with ATF24-PEG-Lipo-β-E,exerted a synergistic effect on cellular apoptosis and cell arrest at the G2/M phase,and these effects were dependent on the caspase-dependent pathway and Cdc25C/Cdc2/cyclin B1 pathways.Furthermore,thein vivo antitumor activity showed that the targeted liposomes effectively inhibited the growth of tumors,using the combined strategy.Conclusions:The present study provided an effective strategy for the targeted delivery ofβ-elemene(β-E)to bladder cancer,and a combined strategy for bladder cancer treatment.Bingtao Zhai Peng Chen Wengang Wang Shuiping Liu Jiao Feng Ting Duan Yu Xiang Ruonan Zhang Mingming Zhang Xuemeng Han Xiaying Chen Qiujie Li Guohua Li Ying Liu Xingxing Huang Wenzheng Zhang Ting Pan Lili Yan Ting Jin Tian Xie Xinbing Sui 2020Cancer Biology & Medicine2020,17,3:5

A group of synthetic long-chain polymers, including octadecyl acrylate-maleic anhydride bidodecyl amide copolymer(VR-D),octadecyl acrylate-maleic anhydride bioctadecyl amide copolymer(VR-O) and octadecyl acrylate-maleic anhydride phenly amide copolymer(VR-A), were employed to serve as viscosity reducers(VRs). Their performance was evaluated by both experimental and computational methodologies. The results suggest that the SCS crude oil has low wax content yet high resin and asphaltene contents, which lead to high viscosity through formation of association structures. Additionally, the SCS crude oil appears to be a pseudoplastic fluid showing linear shear stress-shear rate dependence at low temperature. Interestingly, it gradually evolves into a Newtonian fluid with exponential relationship between shear stress and shear rate at higher temperature. Synthetic VRs demonstrate desirable and effective performance on improvement of the rheological properties of SCS crude oil. Upon the introduction of 1000 ppm VR-O,which is synthesized by using octadecylamine in the aminolysis reaction, the viscosity of SCS crude oil is decreased by 44.2% at 15 °C and 40.2% at 40 °C. 18Hydrogen sulfide-linked persulfidation of ABI4 controls ABA responses through the transactivation of MAPKKK18 in Arabidopsis显示文摘Hydrogen sulfide(H2S)is a signaling molecule that regulates plant hormone and stress responses.The phytohormone abscisic acid(ABA)plays an important role in plant adaptation to unfavorable environmental conditions and induces the persulfidation of L-CYSTEINE DESULFHYDRASE1(DES1)and the production of H2S in guard cells.However,it remains largely unclear how H2S and protein persulfidation participate in the relay of ABA signals.In this study,we discovered that ABSCISIC ACID INSENSITIVE 4(ABI4)acts downstream of DES1 in the control of ABA responses in Arabidopsis.ABI4 undergoes persulfidation at Cys250 that is triggered in a time-dependent manner by ABA,and loss of DES1 function impairs this process.Cys250 and its persulfidation are essential for ABI4 function in the regulation of plant responses to ABA and the H2S donor NaHS during germination,seedling establishment,and stomatal closure,which are abolished in the ABI4Cys250Ala mutated variant.Introduction of the ABI4Cys250Ala variant into the abi4 des1 mutant did not rescue its hyposensitivity to ABA.Cys250 is critical for the binding of ABI4 to its cognate motif in the promoter of Mitogen-Activated Protein Kinase Kinase Kinase 18(MAPKKK18),which propagates the MAPK signaling cascade induced by ABA.Furthermore,the DES1-mediated persulfidation of ABI4 enhances the transactivation activity of ABI4 toward MAPKKK18,and ABI4 can bind the DES1 promoter,forming a regulatory loop.Taken together,these findings advance our understanding of a post-translational regulatory mechanism and suggest that ABI4 functions as an integrator of ABA and MAPK signals through a process in which DES1-produced H2S persulfidates ABI4 at Cys250.Mingjian Zhou Jing Zhang Jie Shen Heng Zhou Didi Zhao Cecilia Gotor Luis CRomero Ling Fu Zongmin Li Jing Yang Wenbiao Shen Xingxing Yuan Yanjie Xie 2021Molecular Plant2021,14,6:5
191 T moderate intensity static magnetic field affects Akt/mTOR pathway and increases the antitumor efficacy of m TOR inhibitors in CNE-2Z cells显示文摘Static magnetic field(SMF) has been known to affect cell proliferation in a cell-type-dependent manner,while the mechanism still remains unclear. We found that 1T moderate intensity SMF inhibits cell proliferation of nasopharyngeal carcinoma CNE-2Z cells and the Akt/m TOR signaling pathway, which is upregulated in many cancers. m TOR inhibitors are potential chemodrugs, but their clinical effects are limited by the feedback reactivation of other signaling components such as EGFR and Akt.We showed that 1 T SMF increases the antitumor efficacy of m TOR inhibitor Torin 2. In addition, 1 T SMF increases the inhibition efficiency on m TOR substrates phosphorylation and represses the m TOR inhibitor-induced feedback reactivation of EGFR and Akt.
